greatgenius: thats the point of this whole discussion. get you thinking/////// It's working.

/////// who and what is he judging? herself? because there is none else but herself/itself..everything you see and exists is part of himself/itself/herself..so who will he condemn or judge? God does not judge god brother..
/////// So, all that exists is just God? So, what's the point of everything? why create other aspects of yourself?

///////you are told to love your neighbor as yourself- not because it is a righteous/godly/holy/compassionate way to live- but because your neighbor is literally you playing a different role in the game of the life/universe..ultimately there is only one of us..Therefore caring for oneself and caring for others is ultimately the same. We are all one being. One body with many cells-the many cells came from One cell ////////
hmmmn...... that makes sense.

///////again i will ask you this..is it possible for an all-powerful and unconditional loving deity to judge or condemn?
first of all "wrong" and "right" does not exist. we have made it all up..at a fundamental level there is really no such thing as right/good and wrong/evil in the universe. everything is just is..it is perception that frames reality and it depends on the beholder..

right and wrong is a judgement( and let me remind you again that God does not judge- humans do)..To consider something better than or worse than is a judgement..wrong is considered something of inferior quality compared to something better, therefore a lesser right/good is/will be considered wrong when compared with a greater right/good..so you see there is really no such thing as right and wrong..because i tell you what no one really does anything inappropriate based on the view of their world/reality..( In any war, everyone thinks they are the good guys. Terrorists think they are fighting evil. you might say “Oh, but they are wrong! They think they are good, but they are mistaken.” That’s probably what they say about you, too.. )..

now when there is no judgement there is no consideration of something being better or worse than another. everything is accepted equally as it is..God loves all equally regardless of their state of evolution or level of consciousness- smart/right and dumb/wrong

Secondly repercussions are not judgements..They are effects/consequences of an action..they are outcomes. natural outcomes not judgements or punishments..every "right" or "wrong" deed has an outcome.. so yes every "wrong" doing has it repercussion but understand that it is not as a result of a judgement from a Devil or a judgmental God
/////// Interesting points.

//////////YHWH is a part of All That Is..

but lets talk about yahweh.. do you believe he is an unconditional loving, omniscient and all powerful God?..///////// honestly, I don't really believe that the old testament deity is all powerful or loves unconditionally. Sometimes, I feel that Jesus was referring to another God as father.
Religion / Re: Describe The Mental Image Of God You Had As A Child by inspiredbyGOD(m): 4:51pm On Jun 14, 2013
greatgenius: The presence of God? Where is this presence you talk of ... Why can't the wicked stand in the presence of God? .Are the "wicked" always not in her presence at all times? - or you think otherwise
hmmmn, that got me thinking. Wrong choice of words I guess.

Pure ways or not why should anyone dread or develop a cold feet in the presence of an unconditional loving deity? Is God's love based on a condition or unconditional?...does she love the just and abhors the ways of the unjust? Is it possible for an unconditional loving God to judge or even punish? ..
Isn't GOD the ultimate judge? Isn't there any repercussion for wrong doing?

BTW who and what is The All That is to you.. maybe we should start from there..
YAHWEH!

greatgenius: i do understand where you coming from now.. but even at that, understand that cant behold and dare not behold carries two different meanings...

however i dont want to dwell on this as my interest lies in your "No and Yes" statement below..nevertheless understand that "God" can, will, and has been beheld...
Okay.

why should a so called "loving" God be feared..
You have a point there. However, the wicked can't stand in the presence of God. You only have nothing to fear if your ways are pure.

thats good. been doing same lately myself..
Cool. One mustn't get addicted to this site.
Religion / Re: About The Trinity by inspiredbyGOD(m): 12:52am On Jun 13, 2013
Mr anony:
Claims like "God is just a title" really need scriptural back up
really? What does the word "god" mean?

Lol, as I said, you are not ready for a serious discussion
Am I not? But wait, is a belief in the trinity a prerequisite for salvation?
Religion / Re: About The Trinity by inspiredbyGOD(m): 9:00pm On Jun 12, 2013
Mr anony:
I don't know what point you think I got.
Some things don't need to be in the bible before they can be verified to be true.

Lol, seriously? You are welcome to open a thread and then we can discuss your "egyptian trinity"
Not gonna do that. The Christian concept of trinity
is confusing enough.
Religion / Re: About The Trinity by inspiredbyGOD(m): 5:43pm On Jun 12, 2013
Mr anony:
This example is unrelated to the discussion we are having.
You get my point.

Lol, you haven't been paying attention to your bible then. I am also sure that if I asked you to provide an example of pagan trinity where they believe in one tripersonal God, you won't.
The Egyptian pair of Osiris, Isis and Horus is just one out of many examples of pagan conceptions of trinity.

btw, I've sent you my number, give me a buzz sometime
Haven't seen it yet. {kindly resend it to chinedudaniel7@gmail.com}
Religion / Re: About The Trinity by inspiredbyGOD(m): 2:13pm On Jun 12, 2013
Mr anony:
You'll have to show from scripture in order to make that claim.
I am the son of my father. Oh! Wait, I guess I'll have to validate this truth with the scriptures too.

I don't see how this relates to a biblical discussion about Trinity. You are always free to start another thread to discuss these "similarities"
There is no biblical discussion about trinity because the trinity isn't biblical, it is a pagan concept .

psky:

Hmm...so you brushed aside all those pictures of God in story books?
I never came across any image of God in story books.
Pls tell me when you started envisioning God to be this white light, I mean there must have been some point when you developed such an incredulous perception of him right?
Like I said in my initial post, from a young age I have always envisioned God that way.
Religion / Re: About The Trinity by inspiredbyGOD(m): 1:31pm On Jun 12, 2013
Mr anony:
Short story: You have no biblical evidence
If you want to put it that way. Doesn't mean it is a lie though.

Then you are not ready for serious discourse
Okay, let's say I agree with you and you are correct. How do you explain the glaring similarities between the commonly accepted Christian doctrine of trinity and the pagan conceptions that came before it?

Hmm, too bad. You can send me a private message via Nairaland though
Will do that bros.
Religion / Re: Describe The Mental Image Of God You Had As A Child by inspiredbyGOD(m): 1:15am On Jun 12, 2013
greatgenius: Your statement was beautiful until @bolded..why did you think(im assuming you still dont have that perception)no one dared beheld something with that beauty?
You miunderstand me. We can't behold GOD in the same way that we can't look at the sun {with our unaided eyes}
..should God be feared?

No and yes!
how you been btw- long time
I'm fine god brother, I just decided to stay off nairaland for a while.

You mean the creator of the universe, the source of love and the source of all life. How do you expect me to have imagined such a being? Well, as a child, I just thought of God as Pure white light radiating with beauty and with glory that no eye can dare behold. I still have the same image till now.

Religion / Is Faith Incompatible With Reason? by inspiredbyGOD(m): 12:01pm On Jun 08, 2013
A splendid afternoon to everyone.
I want us to have a discussion based on the title of this thread.
Is faith a negation of reason? There has been a great many number of people who over the centuries have claimed that faith and reason are incompatible but is that true? Do religious beliefs fly in the face of all reason? Let's consider this: there have been many strongly held scientific beliefs that have been proved to be wrong but that doesn't necessarily mean that all scientific beliefs are wrong or are not based on reason. Why then do we have to view religious beliefs any differently?

Mr anony: You'll have to show where you found the bolded in scripture.
It is common knowledge and besides, it doesn't have to be mentioned in scriptures before we agree that it is correct. The gestation period for dogs is 9 weeks, do we have to find it in the scriptures before we agree that it is correct? "GOD"is just a title shikena.

Secondly statement 11 is the inevitable conclusion you get to if all preceding 10 statements are true. wouldn't you agree?

No, I don't agree since "God" is just a title.

Uhm can't post my phone number here mate. Have you still got my email addy?
Lost that too. The email I used to register on nairaland was just a temporary one, it doesn't store messages {or addresses} for long.

Mr anony:
Lol, let's see how honest you are being; Would you agree that if I can show you bible verses supporting each of the statements from 1 to 10, statement 11 will be your inevitable conclusion?
The word "God" is just a title hence it can be used to refer to both Christ and the Holy Spirit. What I want you to show me is a verse that explicitly states that the Father {God} is one being and yet three persons at the same time.

By the way, how far? I no come see you for whatsapp again?
Money constraints bro, had to sell my phone. The current one I'm using does not support the application. Hope to get a new one soon. I even lost your number when my sim got damaged, could you kindly resend it?
Religion / Re: About The Trinity by inspiredbyGOD(m): 5:47am On Jun 06, 2013
11. God is one being and three persons
@op, why don't you post a bible verse that supports this statement.

Obviously you miss the simple message of @Anony. This is a thread for people how want to discuss or debate christian theology/doctrine. If you were not so eager to jump(and comment) before even thinking you wouldn't be dragging krishna, allah, etc into this thread.

Nigerians just love to make a show of ignorance rather than of knowlegde. SMH
Mr attacker, I only added them to expatiate on my point that "GOD" is just a title. Yahweh can be "God", Allah can be "God", Krishna can be "God". Saying Jesus is God and the Holy Spirit is God doesn't hold much water.

Trinity again!!!
In summary, "God" is just a title and it can be used to address Jesus, Yahweh and the Holy Spirit. Even Allah, Krishna, Horus, Mithras, Sango, Amadioha etc etc all lay claim to the title. But one thing's for sure, heaven isn't big enough for three Gods.
