You don't know what you are talking about. I am a Yoruba man but I served in Anambra when Obi was the governor. He turned every public school around. He won all the MDGs award for the years. Ever since he left, the status of education in Anambra has never been the same.
Coolsperm: Lol, when Yoruba Muslims were cherring and praising Yahaya Bello despite his evil doings, I know there will be problem, but why do Yoruba Muslims support bad and Evil leaders, why?
ValCon888: There's something called Reciprocity. The reporter should first find out how much Nigerians pay for visas to the US.
It will do him good to know the amount is nonrefundable, the rejection rate is extremely high, yet Nigerians pay the same fees every time they apply for a visa to the USA
You are comparing Nigeria with US, what do immigrants stand to gain from Naija. Can Nigerian government assure their security?
uche87: Osahon George Osayimwen writes from England.
We have different breaking points. What Brittons call surfferness is enjoyment to an average Nigerian. We celebrate uninterrupted 1hour power supply while others protest an hour outage.
Obiedun: Some people like to play victim mentality. You do not have proper documents.
Is there any mansion built within Abuja municipal without proper documentation? Do you think Abuja is like your village? Every bitter administrator has many ways to hunt his perceived enemies. One Nigeria is on paper, Ibo should start building their states
Okoroawusa: Bishop you wine and dine with these Nigerian leaders. We see you all the time with them on tv, faces of newspapers and they grace your occasion. They even sponsor your events, projects, programmes or make you a member of one committee or the other that spreads the national cake your way. Dear bishop, all these things you say at newspaper or tv interviews or public lectures, do you tell them privately? You have always had the ears of our leaders right from the beginning of this 4th republic and you have grown richer and more influncial in person and in the church courtesy of their facilitation, have you rejected their influence, string pulling, money or otherwise? Stop masquerading on the faces of the media from time to time about people we know are your best friends.
Provide your evidence. The man of God has always been factual. Tell me what is untrue in the statement. You are part of Nigerian enemies, that always trail the messenger in liu of the message
Testiebobo: Omo 😯 see the big scorpion that died in my bucket ☠️. I just woke up from afternoon nap, and I wanted to take shower and saw this. Photo🔽 the Lord is my shepherd 😅
Seems CBN has quietly re-introduced their policy where people abroad can no longer send foriegn currency directly to folks in Nigeria. Folks in Nigeria now can only receive the naira equivalent of the money sent.
I've checked Western Union and seems to be the same as well. Moneygram still allows dollars to be sent, but can only be picked up. Can't send to a dorm account any more.
I have checked and haven't seen any news on this.
Hope the banks will allow us to pay dollars with naira equivalent?
Sonnobax15: Good evening my fellow Nairalanders....Hope y'all are currently enjoying the economic shege we've been plunged into? . Any ways, that's a story for another day....
So this morning,I woke up,hoping to kick start my daily hustle with my tricycle (popularly known as keke), only for me to get there and discover that it was having an ignition fault............Well,then I thought I could just apply the little engineering knowledge I learnt while in school on it, but all my efforts were to no avail.
A neighbor of mine who was passing by who saw how I was struggling with it approached me......He asked me what the fault was.....So after I told him........The next thing I heard him say was--"you sure say you no go carry this your keke go meet my pastor so?
Omoh, tho I tried to be calm but I was forced to reply him with a question--"That your pastor sabi repair keke?". . Immediately I asked him that question,he turned his back and walked away............
But omoh, why are Nigerians so over religious like this? Must we accrue every single problem that can easily be solved by mankind to God? The thing just tire me I swear....
HoleDriller: All eyes will be on the Emirates for what promises to be an exhilarating Premier League contest on Sunday afternoon, as third-placed Arsenal take on leaders Liverpool for the third time in the space of two months.
Both outfits enhanced their title credentials in midweek, as the Gunners emerged victorious 2-1 in a sticky affair with Nottingham Forest, while Jurgen Klopp's merciless crop demolished Chelsea 4-1.
Match Preview
An unwanted reversion to their old attacking ways briefly bedevilled Arsenal during Tuesday's clash with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, a stadium where they had fallen to defeat in each of their previous three visits, as Mikel Arteta's men endured over an hour of frustration against a compact Reds rearguard.
However, Forest's diligent defensive work was ultimately undone by a pair of blunders, as erstwhile Gunners goalkeeper Matt Turner allowed a Gabriel Jesus strike to squirm through his legs at his near post, before World Cup winner Gonzalo Montiel cheaply gave the ball away and was powerless to prevent Bukayo Saka clinically finishing off the counter-attack.
The bulldozing Taiwo Awoniyi did set up a nail-biting finale, but the yellow-clad Arsenal clung on to record their second successive Premier League win since a much-needed winter break, having obliterated Crystal Palace 5-0 upon their return from the Dubai sun.
Arsenal's curse-lifting victory briefly propelled the Gunners into the silver medal position in the table, but they have since been bumped back down to third spot by Manchester City - who are only ahead on goal difference but boast a game in hand - while Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa remain on the coat-tails of last year's runners-up too.
Boasting six wins from their last seven top-flight contests at the Emirates Stadium - the one aberration being a 2-0 defeat to West Ham United - vengeance will be the special dish on the North London menu this weekend, as Arteta's men seek to right the wrongs of an identical FA Cup loss to their Merseyside foes.
Hitting the road for the first time since Jurgen Klopp's extraordinary exit announcement, Liverpool have commenced their legendary manager's farewell parade with a customary glut of Anfield goals, putting five past Norwich City in the FA Cup before outclassing, outfighting and outwitting Chelsea on Wednesday night.
An electrifying display from Conor Bradley saw the fledgling right-back bank his first senior goal for the Reds while also providing assists for Dominik Szoboszlai and Diogo Jota, becoming the youngest Liverpool player in five years to set up multiple goals in one Premier League match, while Luis Diaz also got in on the Anfield act.
Christopher Nkunku's crisp finish did present a lifeline for Chelsea, who had a right to feel hard done by after seeing two strong penalty shouts waved away, but Mauricio Pochettino's men were firmly second best throughout the contest and should have travelled home with an even worse goal difference, had Darwin Nunez not hit the woodwork an unprecedented four times.
The Uruguayan's unwanted record mattered little in the grand scheme of things, and Liverpool - who are without defeat in 11 games in all tournaments - will hold an eight-point lead over Arsenal should they come up trumps at the Emirates, where they could put the biggest dent in the Gunners' title aspirations yet.
Klopp masterminded a smash-and-grab 2-0 FA Cup win on Arsenal's turf only a few weeks ago - a contest where Arteta's men were left to rue an abundance of missed chances - but by leaving Anfield with a point in a 1-1 December draw, the Gunners made it three Premier League games unbeaten against the Reds ahead of Sunday's landmark 200th league meeting.
Prior to Arsenal's success at the City Ground, Thomas Partey made a return to full training after three months on the sidelines with a thigh problem, but he did not come into consideration for the win over Forest and has now suffered a fresh setback, eliminating him from contention for the weekend.
Fabio Vieira (groin) and Jurrien Timber (ACL) are still in the recovery phase, while Takehiro Tomiyasu continues to gun for Asian Cup glory with Japan, but Mohamed Elneny is due to return to domestic duty following Egypt's elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations.
A lingering knee concern for striker Jesus is still being carefully managed, but there is nothing to suggest that the Brazilian will not be fit to start against Liverpool, where Arteta also has a midfield toss-up between Emile Smith Rowe, Kai Havertz and Jorginho after handing the former an unexpected start at the City Ground.
However, Arteta's midfield quandary would have been nothing compared to Jurgen Klopp's right-back predicament, as Bradley justified the German's decision to start him over Trent Alexander-Arnold in midweek, but the Northern Irishman's participation is up in the air due to the recent death of his father.
None of Wataru Endo (international), Mohamed Salah (muscle), Kostas Tsimikas (collarbone), Stefan Bajcetic (calf), Ben Doak (knee) or Joel Matip (knee) will make the cut either, but Thiago Alcantara (hip) is finally back in training, and Klopp is optimistic about the fitness of Alexis Mac Allister, who took a bang to the knee in the closing stages of the win over Chelsea.
However, woodwork merchant Nunez is a fresh doubt after sustaining a foot injury in the midweek encounter, so a recall to the first XI for Cody Gakpo would not be a major surprise.
Yet another fresh concern arose on Saturday night, as it was reported that Dominik Szoboszlai was not seen with the squad, so Ryan Gravenberch may be given the nod in the middle.
Arsenal possible starting lineup: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Rice, Havertz; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli
Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Jones, Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Jota, Gakpo, Diaz
Newsfeed247: With $1 (1400 naira ) I can eat 2 eba 500 1, meat 500, 1 ponmo 300 and 1 pure water 100 naira
We have dollarized our Economy so bad that our focus is on the Dollar rate vs making the Naira Strong…let the Naira finds its reall value and don’t peg it against the dollar…buy local, eat local, reduce ur long throat for foreign goods….Nigerians should wake up…..says Isaac Fayose
I remember this very well. It was in 2004. I remember watching it at a roadside viewing centre at Olorunsogo.. Okocha just won the BBC African footballer of the year when he singlehandedly brought Bolton Wonderers from Relegation
It was just the stroke of half time. Okocha scored that wonderful goal and we went into half time
Before then, Cameroun has always been our nemesis beating us back to back even with ojoro from their top guy,Issa Hayatou who was the CAF chairman then
We went on to win that game 2-1 and that was what broke the camerounian jinz ever since then..
P.S.Camoroun also had the best of the best in their team then not their current crop of players who I believe we can defeat tonight
NikoDeBonAmi: So as a young bachelor that just moved into a new apartment, a next door neighbor who happens to be a single female brought this bowl of afang soup as a show of warm welcome.
Would you accept it?
Even if your spirit doesn't consume it, you have to collect it first. You can reciprocate later.
