[quote author=abhosts post=128433293][b]Who exactly is benefiting from an ever falling Naira? What kind of cruelty is this? In 2019, a friend of mine based in the US invested $200,000(N72,000,000 at that time) into Nigerian real estate. Now his investment is valued at about N200,000,000($135,000). Despite the fact that his naira investment tripled in value, it was still not worth it from a dollar perspective. He is now regretting his decision because he would have been better off just leaving his $200k in the bank when you consider it is now worth 32 percent less. This is an example of foreign investor they claim to be courting. Must he convert it back to dollar rate? Let the person keep enjoying is Naira appreciation. |
Best of luck in next tournament. |
Well deserved, Congratulations. In win and in defeat. Up Nigeria We play against Referee and Cote D'Ivoire. Even our Coach was defense oriented which give room for more pressure from the opposition team. |
Okay |
Nigeria win, Go Super Eagle. We have winning mind set and winning mentality. That's why we don't take defeat as an option even though some of the time we don't win. But as for tomorrow, we will not let this another opportunity pass us by. We no go gree for anybody. We are winning, let just talk about the margin we are winning with. Win win and win alone, nothing less. |

Nwabali should run for his life, na so it dey take start. Some women with crazy fantasies. One lady for my street dey post on her Whatsapp status that Osimhen is her kind of dream Man, I laughed, laughed and laughed again. The guy that never knew about your existence. |
bunbam:For instance there are some international payments you want to settle. Let me talk of my personal experiences which I'm aware some others are in the same scenario. For some of us who do pay ads let say on Facebook, before Buhari and to his early days, you can do payment directly from your naira accounts. For instance when you want to pay Facebook 50 dollars, you can pay naira equivalent at official rate directly from your naira accounts with GTB and some others banks. Now, Buhari changed that, so you can't pay again via naira accounts and it was required that you open Domiciliary account, you can see that rubbish. So, if you want to continue using the avenue, you have to open Domiciliary account. It didn't end there, get to bank that you want to buy dollars to fund your Domiciliary account, they will not sell despite the fact that they openly display buying and selling rates across their branches. So, you have to go to Abokis on the street in order to buy dollars at higher rate for you to be able to fund your Domiciliary account. Such also add to the already tense scenario of looking for foreign currencies here and there. So many people are in that category which simple reversation of such will reduce the pressure. Meanwhile, people that are receiving foreign currencies from abroad don't sell to banks as well, they will just make withdrawal and go straight to Abokis to sell at higher rates above official rate. You can see all these issues, so the policy of paying Naira equivalent at the official exchange rate is a good idea, you don't have choice than to collect your money in naira equivalent. So, if I need to buy dollars as well, bank should sell to me at official rate, I don't need to go to Abokis to buy at higher rate. Such selling to me, they don't need to even release the foreign currency to me, they should just debit my Naira balance and credit equivalent rate to my domiciliary account. Or better still, they just allow us like we used to do payments directly from our Naira account at the official exchange rate. |
Better, I was discussing this with someone few days ago. I also mentioned it in one of my posts on here. The banks should do the same by selling dollars to common customers in the banking hall. We don't have to be clueless. |
Did Nigeria actually have food reserve? The idea of food reservation is actually good but that can be done after people have eaten not when citizens are struggling to find even a single meal per day. Also, Tinubu should open our borders for rice. Continue locking out rice is not a good idea at the moment looking at the current inflation rate couple with other economic crisis we are currently battling with. We can at least relax some policies in order to reduce the effect of Economic issues as we continue to work toward self reliance. Ogun ko laye naw, life should not be a war front. |
Beautiful one from Mr. Project. |

While we are happy about their return, Nigeria government should rise to their responsibilities. We can't continue this way. We're not robots and we can't be clueless. |

Fab21:I'm very sure so many people that their NIN were general through BVN will definitely face that issue. I don't really know if they can make the mistake from date of birth but for names. Not because people don't filled out their names properly during BVN but what I noticed was that, some bank staffs just picked Surname and first name alone; in order to make their own work faster. For instance during account opening before BVN came on board. Let say account was opened with Surname- Obanimi First name - Omodara middle name -Omolewa. Now when the BVN came, some of the staffs were just picking Obanimi Omodara and ignored the middle names, even when you filled them out properly on the form. Now, for the fact that if your NIN was generated via BVN, only that two names will be captured. For all to now work out smoothly, 1. there is need for proper capturing of all the names on the NIN 2. It has to be corrected according on the BVN to include the 3rd name as well. Then all will be linked together and work smoothly when all tally. For the Agent that charged you 120k for modification of date of birth. That's serious exploitation. Find your way to local government by yourself for capturing and modification. They know what to do once you explain date of birth. Official charges for date of birth on NIN is 15k, that one self is somehow painful. |
Bankyshinani:What I posted up there are accurate about land measurements. Take it to those who understand land measurements. Mind you, I'm an Estate Consultant. |
saintbillion:Name change - N500 Date of birth - N15,000 These charges are official because you have to pay through Remitta. Check NINM Website. |
