Whenever it comes to intellect- tasking issues like this our youths will disappear from the thread or those who d manage to stay will be posting nonsense to to register their useless presence. Its a recurring trend on nairaland and it mirrors the kind of society we have. A lot of serious things were raised by the Dangote guy but I bet you many couldn't read up to the last letter of that first paragraph...... Check out that useless comment where a guy was asking how much was a dollar now.....or the very first comment on this thread (which was actually just a smiley)... SMH.... dealslip: |
Exactly! Sometimes i t baffles me to read some comments that people on NL post in response to a topic.Just like the first person that commented on this thread......SMH....Is it that they lack intelligence or that they are kids who fortunately found themselves in a faceless forum where they can build their sand houses and imaginary mud meals? For about the first 10 comments, one finds only some stup!d and low IQ or childish doodlings.....NL is already really infested by many shades of unprofitable characters here. They aren't ready to learn and u can't learn anything from them And to most of them ,who of course are youths cannot contribute intelligently to such discuss tell you why we still are going to be having problems. Our youths lack basic comprehension of the Nigerian problems hence whenever a topic like this shows up,they'd rather begin to post rubbish or say nonsense because they got nothing to offer. If it were a gossip thread or a certain celebrity/ entertainment news, they'd swoop on it like they knew a thing.May God help us. bushdoc9919: |
Exactly my inference. The guy wan use style bring public into the stuff.....soon one "philanthropist or good Samaritan" go show.Trust naija and publicity na.And the guys wahala is over.....maybe em fit plan am with the babe sef ibrams: |

I once asked a female friend ,after I noticed the way she spoke a bout men and women if,she was a woman rights activist. She denied and began to explain her stance on equality et Al. Lately there has been a sudden obvious awareness and proliferation of women speaking up and talking about feminism which is now becoming a popular word I Nigeria. I notice that many still have it misplaced and I'm even confused too. What actually is feminism? Is it right or wrong? What are the core principles, merits and demerits? |
That's exactly what the lady replied the guy as she confronted him online Dyt: |
They will soon pass a law to legalize it. They are called " Minor Attracted Individual or Persons".. You never hear am? Abugab: |
Just hours after ruling that all Americans, no matter their sexual orientation, can now legally marry the people they love, the U.S. Supreme Court went forward with plans to demand that God apologize and make amends for His actions at Sodom and Gomorrah. Many are calling the decision to hold God liable for the destruction of the impenitent cities as a victory for gay rights activists who have fought for centuries to see God brought to justice. The justices found that, under the 14th Amendment, states must issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples and recognize same-sex unions that have been performed in other states, and that the Divine judgment of God that was passed upon Sodom and Gomorrah was unjust. Justice Anthony Kennedy delivered the majority opinion and was joined by Justices Ginsburg, Kagan, Breyer and Sotomayor in calling God to step down from his post immediately. ----------------------------------------------------------- PPS***This is satire from the satirical Catholic Website www.eyeofthetiber.com |
My friend Google and don't be ignorant. Even in Europe and America, kids are seriously affected by music and TV and people complain there too khalhokage: |

What really is the big deal about breastfeeding a hungry baby in public? Celebrities expose bare breasts in public and grace front covers of fashion magazines and are paid millions of dollars for such obvious indecent exposure. And this exposure for money isn’t the primary duty of the breasts. But,an innocent girl uses her breasts to save the life of an innocent baby and it becomes an offence with some people saying they "cant stand the sight"? So goes the argument. You can make your judgement after reading this article and also contribute to the talk.Read on and leave your comment below. We all can still recall how just about one year ago,Karlesha Thurman was heavily criticized for breastfeeding her baby at her graduation ceremony and posting the photo online. Many people were outraged by her action and they did not hide their disapproval at all. Thurman was at her graduation ceremony with Aaliyah, her then three-month-old daughter, when she opened the top of her gown and started breastfeeding her daughter. One of her former classmates who was sitting in front of her asked if he could take a picture of her and she agreed. The social media was agog with diverse views about what she did. While some didn’t see anything wrong with her actions, others were lit rally 'offended' by what she did and voiced their emotions. Ivette Ivens, is a mother of two sons, who she breastfed. One even until age three! She is a Chicago resident and feels public breastfeeding should be considered normal. Many years ago, breastfeeding was the only way for a mother to feed her child. Why are so many people offended to see this natural process? She decided to do a breastfeeding photo shoot to try and remind everyone that breastfeeding is ok. Ivette says, “I nursed them both anywhere I wanted. From church to parties, from the farmers market to high-end designer stores. I believe that mothers should nurse their little ones whenever they want to,” states Ivette. She is also an activist for extended breastfeed stating children know when it is time to stop and move on. She is releasing her photobook called Breastfeeding Goddess, later this year. She also recently held an exhibit in her town titled “I breastfeed my toddler”. Ivette also enjoys family photography and specializes in it.Check out some of her very amazing breastfeeding pictures here. In a recent development according to ABC NEWS,a young mom who was breastfeeding her baby in a restaurant has been seriously outraged when a stranger took her pictures and posted on social media "to shame her" for breastfeeding in public. This is what 20 year old Connor Kendall told ABC NEWS about how she felt on seeing her picture trending on social media in such a manner, “Shock. That was my initial response.I turned away from everybody because we were in a corner," she said. "I really didn’t feel like I was that exposed.” Young Kendall was however very unlike the man who snapped her and wanted to shame her.She wrote a very touching and lenghty facebook post on her page in response to what happened. You wouldn’t want to miss the post. Kendall wouldn’t reveal the name of the man out of respect for his privacy, but in her post she said she wrote to him directly in a private message, telling him that she did nothing wrong and explaining that she didn’t use a cover while feeding her son because he “fights them, screams, and doesn’t eat at all while under them. “If he had been screaming because he was hungry then I would be a bad mom for not feeding my hungry child. I did not pump before leaving home, A-because my son does not like to take a bottle and B-because it is my right to feed him any way I see fit wherever I see fit. I wanted to thank you for showing the public your ignorance and for shedding light on a topic that is near and dear to my heart,” she continued, adding that the man had shown his “true colors to many and you've exposed others who are likewise simple-minded.” Kendall told ABC News: “I let him know that it was not OK to make me feel bad for feeding my child. I showed less than ... you see every day walking down the street.” Kendall’s post garnered a flood of support, with one poster writing: “Good for you Mama. Way to turn a bad situation in to a positive one!” while another wrote: “Way to stick up for yourself and all of us breast feeding mamas!!” Kendall said the man later apologized to her in a private message. Feeding a baby "on demand" is the rule and the advice given even by health professionals. The demand could happen in an awkward situation where it isn’t convenient to fully cover yourself or even where it couldd be totally impossible to do so. What then happens in such a situation just like what Kendall and many other women experience daily as they nurse their babies? Some have argued that its no offence at all to breastfeed a baby anywhere once the baby needs food.Celebrities do more than just expose breast. They expose their bare tummies, butt and vagina in some cases and are applauded as "sexy, cute and beautiful". But feeding a baby isn’t sexy or beautiful to behold? What is your take on this? Culled from: http://whateverlovely..com/2015/06/is-it-evil-to-breastfeed-baby-in-public.html |
Even if police catch them, the highest police would do is collect a huge bribe from them and let them off to continue their recklessness. That's why all the drivers on the one way lanes are not scared, and they always cause carnage. luvinhubby: |
Hey people ,someone need your candid advice on this. Is it better to save ones money in dollars or to change and save everything in naira? The dollar is high against the naira now but we know it will still come down,as the economy improves soon and by then, foreign currencies may not have much weight as they have now. How can one living outside the country convert currencies to naira and save at home and bank it in Nigeria if you advice that its a better or, good option? Cheers |
I fear for this country. This is a preview of what will happen when Nigerians are truly fed up with our politicians and institutions like the police, and have finally decided for a revolution. I hope its gonna be bloodless but,if it chooses by fate or twist of events to be bloody, its really gonna be the bloodiest revolution.May God save us from such though, but from all indications, the masses are getting tired. Does a policeman not know about traffic rules? |

I think its clear that the parents and the church misled this lady. The cause of the problem is not that she was a virgin, but the reason for it and it made her life very unbalanced. Sex isn't evil, sex is good but should be done within marriage because outside marriage it offends God and causes a lot of problems for those engaging it it. Its better to tell girls that than to dogmatize their mind and eventually cause more harm than good. For all those who feel that her story has justified your belief or practice of sex outside marriage,I want you to know that many women ans mwn are losing their Virginity in their 30s ,after marriage and are very very happily enjoying their sex life. Its balance and correct teaching that got missing in that babes life. |

Neither APC nor PDP Lagos government and the people of Lagos talk about getting aligned with the federal govt in order to get their "share" of whatever "benefits" there is.That's why they urge all to vote for APC. I overheard an Akwa-Ibom man talking on the phone yesterday, lamenting how the ongoing seaport project could be abandoned if an opposition government takes over his state. He was visibly scared. Someone also opined fearfully that,if Enugu state wanted to be counted in the scheme of things in Nigeria, they'd better vote APC on Saturday because the central government is now under APC control and any state ruled by the opposition is out of the federal radar. Most Nigerians have written(and this is sadly the general belief),that a region must be under a particular political party else it'll be sidelined in the Nigerian project. Some are even suggesting that David Mark should "port" to APC for him to be relevant, and maybe retain headship of the senate. My Nigeria! To me this is a very sad situation and one that should be discouraged.Nigeria has a government for all,and we operate by it,not by a political party. Every Nigerian deserves all good things of life. When are we going to understand that; 24-hour power supply, Constant clean water, Good and affordable housing, Beautiful roads, World class transportation system including modern rail systems, World class hospitals, World class education and good business environment are not a privilege or gift from government? These things are your rights as citizens. Why should we clap for a governor for building roads or bridges?or for buying patrol vans for the police in his state?Did he buy them with his money or was it his money he build the micro facilities with? Let it be known to Nigerians that providing basic amenities is not a priviledge;its neither a gift or charity from government. Its our right and an obligation of whoever is in power. Unless we understand this and are ready to question them just as we are learning that we can actually choose whom we want with our votes, these people will forever feel like demi-gods who are doing us a favour by doing their work. It does not really matter which political party is in power;all of them have laudable manifestos and programs that will benefit the masses. And provision of the basic amenities as mentioned above is not a big deal that needs any discussion because I wonder what any government is there for if it can't provide these. People, especially our politicians switch parties not because they are thirsty of delivering these basics but because they want where they would still be relevant and have things for themselves. May we not allow these politicians divide us and push us farther apart from one another along party lines. Both parties are for Nigerians.Their members are Nigerians and whatever they do is for Nigeria. We are not APC or PDP; We are Nigerians. We deserve everything that Nigeria can provide. |

Their House Collapsed Bayo could not go to the stadium as usual. He got up rather late today,so he decided to do his regular jugging and other workouts at the yard. He was done with the other indoor excercises, but found out that he was unusually weak today and decided to simply walk around the house. Bayo walked round their 2-storey building at number 101 Bamiolowo Street. He was able to march just 7 times in all.Almost everyone saw him, because it was morning already. They were helping him count how many times he could jug round the expansive compound. He marched round it 7 times! He was sweating profusely and some guys from the balconies were taunting him for being so weak that such little exercise had made him to sweat like he did a marathon. Before 10 am,everyone had left the building to school ,work and market. The house collapsed around 1:05pm that beautiful Thursday afternoon. Whaaaaaaat Yes,it came down! Some members of that house suddenly began to insinuate that Bayo's march round the house was responsible. It was sinister. The landlord who also saw my guy marching round the house that morning took it seriously and the issue became a bigger issue, for which Bayo had to be invited to explain the significance of his "mysterious" march in the house. The 24-year old is confused. What would he say? Please friends ,how do you see this and what are your thoughts and recommendations? Meanwhile,as case unfolds,I will keep you updated.Abeg remind me o. HAPPY EASTER, HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY. |
Nichola has not eaten for the past 7 years and will never eat again in her life due to a condition known as gastroparesis. Does she even look it?Her happiness is her two babies whom she calls her miracles. I know actually that I have a lot to be grateful for after reading this woman and her husband. Its not about money, its not about gifts;its for you to sincerely say,"Thank you for taking care of me".But many never do,especially Nigerians. Can you stop complaining about nurses and thank a nurse just once?Have you ever cared for a sick person or know the psychology of a sick person? Nurses care for you, they care about you and they help you when you are helpless...yet you can never see anything good in them....They care for your loved ones when nobody is there but it makes no meaning to you. Nursing isnt just like any other job,it demands ones psychological, spiritual, and emotional dimensions which many people cant give. That young girl who comes with the tray to ya room, who smiles at you and tries to chat you up at your down time is not a spoilt girl as you imagine....She is a nurse, and she is not a dullard as you think. Her work has a lot of stress and puts a lot of pressure on her as she has a handful of people with different problems, coming from different backgrounds. And each demands and deserves proper attention.I bet you cannot do it.Give kudos to those in the profession. If she were not smart, you probably would be dead by now.Don't doubt it. Remember that many of the things she does for you are stuffs that some of your closest relations including family members cannot do for you; Some of them will NEVER do it or you. She is patient with you when even your wife or husband has left your room in anger and didn't give a damn about what you do anymore;she still touches you and says soothing words when others no longer wish to talk to you.... That nurse cleans you up and when even your relations avoided coming to you. Thank a nurse today. Culled from www.nursescountry..com @ObetaMax || BB:52C060EE |

Toochi alighted from the taxi which came right into the parking lot of the Polo Park shopping mall, presently known as Shoprite. He had not been to Enugu for a long time since coming down from Maiduguri where he was engaged in community volunteer service with an international health organisation that has been forced to relocate because of the activities of insurgents. Tooch stepped in and picked his cart, collected a few provisions and vegetable and suddenly noticed that someone gently tapped him. Apparently the person had wanted to be sure she wasn’t touching the wrong person. She touched just like when you inadvertently nudge somebody with the elbow in a crowded place. Then Toochi turned and there was a remarkable excitement on both faces and their subsequent reaction followed by exchange of pleasantries. It all revealed that they knew each other somewhere and had been close companions. Actually they both served in the same local government and were from the same town. Toochi’s house was close to the mall, so Sandra stated that she must see him off to his house before leaving for Trans-Ekulu that evening. From Polo Park, after payment they headed for Toochi’s house. The guy has not really settled well in Enugu but his room was cosy and just modest. It had a set of home theatres, reading/writing desk, a refrigerator, ward rope and a moderate size comfortable bed. There was no chairs in that room, so it’s either you sit on the bed or you sit on the carpet. Some visitors preferred the carpet while others preferred the bed, usually. Sandra preferred the bed, and Toochi sat on the carpet though close to her. They chatted about a lot of past events and many things that had happened since after they parted ways. It seems that women always get emotional when they talked about past events especially with the opposite sex. She couldn’t control herself and began to touch Toochi suggestively. He acted ignorant or absent minded initially and somehow thought that he could wish it away or get the lady into a safer mood but she got more daring and wanted to reach for his crotch when the guy screamed and held her; looked her in the eyes and said gently, “Sandra, I love you. You are my sister and friend and I know how you feel. I have the same feeling too, sometimes but we must not give in to this because it offends God and will ruin our relationship with him. Sandra it will spoil my relationship with you. It can also ruin the plans we have for our future”. Sandra bowed her head and apologized. But later that evening she phoned Toochi from home, “What do you take me for? Am I not beautiful enough or sexy enough for you? You claimed to be a virgin while we were at the service and I believed you but do you want to tell me that since after the service, with all your travels and encounter with different local and foreign women, you have never had sex? Virgin my foot! Or you feel I’m not your type? Well, you can tell that to the gullible folks out there, not me because I cannot be deceived. See you on Sunday”. The phone went dead. Toochi is 29 years, very jovial and likeable person who made friends easily. He had first class in microbiology from UNN (UNEC). My guy was confused. He couldn’t understand what was happening or what he had done to make someone talk to him like this. But this wasn’t the first time he had had to deal with sexual advances in his life but tactfully escaped. He had had an almost near brush with two beautiful ladies; one an American healthcare colleague, the other was a Belgian attached to their team in Maiduguri. In the case of Daniella, the Belgian, my guy found himself face to face with a beautiful lady standing in front of him like eve stood before Adam, you know what I mean totally nude, from her bathroom with water drops all over her. He took off! In both instances, Toochi maintained his stand of No sex before marriage. Not because he was impotent; not because he wasn’t having the urge or was scared. Not because he doesn’t have the opportunities. However in this last case he found himself weeping like a baby when he got home. I didn’t know why. Cynthia,Angela,Nkechi,Modupe,Ini,and Teewasi,Atano are just a few of my female friends who are keeping it real: virgins in their twenties and very proud about it. Beautiful, with all the curves proportionately set in the right places, enterprising, outgoing and womanly, women of comely characters any man would be happy to live with; having all the known opportunities to have sex both in office and in the most exquisite hotels in the country by the rich and mighty but sticking to their commitment to Jesus and His gospel principles about, not just virginity but SEXUAL PURITY. These people represent just a little percentage of millions of young men and women around the world, (even in your neighbourhood) who have the opportunity to engage in sexual immorality with no one ever knowing but have kept themselves because they loved Jesus and showed that VIRGINITY IS NOT LACK OF OPPORTUNITY but simply a personal decision to follow the master and his principles, defying the popular culture of sexual freedom and immorality. Theirs is not born out of morbid fear of disease or pregnancy or anything else. They are not only virgins but are also pure or free from other immoral acts which some fearful virgins sometimes engage in like masturbation, MouthAction and all unprintable impure and immoral acts. They are there because they love JESUS. |
