RomanceIs This Love Or Weakness? by intrepid(op): 11:34pm On Aug 02, 2014
He was a first-class student of business administration from the university and got a nice job though not as he expected or as many people would expect. His family is also not too rich but comfortable. Before graduation he met this girl and just within one year after their service they got married.

This guy actually got a job immediately after their Youth service and then followed by marriage. Each time he receives his salary; he removes his offering money for the period and gives the rest to his wife to keep. Wife isn’t doing any serious work yet. They are still looking for something for her to do. He tells his wife everything about his finances and other very private issues pertaining to his business. Sometimes, if he had little cash on him, he would ask his wife to give him some money for such.

Is this guy really wise or plain dumb? Can this be called love or foolishness? Is this guy strong or weak? How do you understand or view a husband that behaves like this--would you want a man like him?
Science/TechnologyGoogle Buys Twitch For 1 Billion Dollars! by intrepid(op): 12:01pm On Jul 26, 2014
Here again is another billion dollar deal and another creation of billionares by google. The next generation of multimillionaires will truly be made by the internet.

This news comes just days after the end of this year's International, the Dota 2 tournament (which was streamed through Twitch) that offered a record prize pool of more than $10 million. Twitch is the United States' largest live-streaming website by far, according to a report released in April. The popularity of esports has risen dramatically in recent years; last year alone, more than 2.4 billion hours of esports content were viewed through services like Twitch.

Twitch allows streaming games to be viewed on computers, phones, tablets, and game consoles like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (both of which offer the ability to stream games right from the systems). Streaming functionality is not available on the Wii U at this point because Nintendo doesn't see the value in it.

Anyway, recall that Google bought Twitch for $1 billion, according to Venture Beat. This is less than Google bought YouTube for in 2006 ($1.65 billion)

Car TalkInnoson Classic Cars Out In The Shops by intrepid(op): 1:22am On Jul 25, 2014
Low and middle class Nigerians desiring to drive brand new cars would have their dreams realised in no distant future

Innoson Group of Companies, manufacturers of cars, buses, tankers and other products, would as from 8, August introduce brand new cars into the Nigerian automobile market at the cost of N1.5million only.

The chairman and chief executive of the company, Mr. Innocent Chukwuma who announced this in Enugu yesterday said the cars which would be fully air conditioned with every other gadget were made for most Nigerians to have access to brand new cars.

The costliest of the coming cars, according to him, would be bought at N3.5million.

Chukwuma who was speaking at the road show organized by Empower Nigeria at the Enugu campus of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka was narrating to the students of the university how he started venturing into diversified enterprise.

“I will launch my own cars in about two weeks time. And the cars will cost between N1.5million and N3.5million, depending on the cadre,” he assured.

HealthHow To PREVENT EBOLA Virus From Getting You by intrepid(op): 12:58am On Jul 25, 2014
I am writing this because i know that many folks are scared dead by this news spreading wildly on social media about Ebola in Lagos. We have to know what we are fighting so you can know how to prevent it because ebola virus is so virulent and can be said to be deadlier than HIV because it pronounced dead sentence on almost 90% of patients.

Ebola is a rare but deadly infection that causes bleeding inside and outside the body. Although popular movies and books describe major outbreaks of ebola-like disease in the U.S., they're just works of fiction. Ebola strikes mainly in remote villages of Central and West Africa, but it has spread to some African cities, too.

The disease, also known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever or Ebola virus disease, kills up to 90% of people who are infected. How Do You Get Ebola?

You can get Ebola by coming into contact with the blood or body fluids of an animal or person who is infected.

People often get sick with Ebola when they care for or bury a person who has the disease. Someone also can catch the virus by touching contaminated needles or surfaces.
What Are the Symptoms of Ebola?

Symptoms of the Ebola virus show up 2 to 21 days after someone is infected. As the virus spreads through the body's cells, it damages the immune system and organs. Ultimately, Ebola causes levels of blood-clotting cells, called platelets, to fall, which can lead to severe bleeding.

Many of the early symptoms of Ebola look like the flu or other mild illnesses. They include:

Fever
Headache
Muscle aches
Sore throat
Weakness
Diarrhea

As the disease gets worse, people who are infected may develop:

Bleeding inside and outside of the body
Rash
Trouble breathing

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF SOMEONE HAS EBOLA?

Sometimes it's hard to tell if a person has Ebola from the symptoms alone.

Doctors may first test for other diseases that have the same symptoms as Ebola, such as:

Cholera
Hepatitis
Malaria
Meningitis
Typhoid fever

Tests of the blood and tissues, such as the ELISA test, also can help diagnose Ebola.

If someone might have Ebola, they should be isolated from the public immediately to help prevent the spread of Ebola.
How Is Ebola Treated?

Right now there is no real treatment or cure for Ebola. Doctors try to manage people's symptoms by giving them:

Fluids and electrolytes through a vein
Nutrition
Oxygen

HOW TO PREVENT EBOLA

When it comes to Ebola, prevention involves avoiding direct contact with the body fluid of infected people. Also, it's important to avoid direct contact with the body of an Ebola victim who has died.

For healthcare workers in Africa, who are most likely to encounter cases of Ebola, prevention focuses on being able to recognize cases of the disease when they appear, as well as using barrier isolation techniques to avoid direct contact with infected people.

There is no vaccine to prevent Ebola. People can avoid catching the disease by not traveling to areas where the virus is found.

Health care workers can prevent infection by wearing masks, gloves, and goggles whenever they come into contact with people who may have Ebola.

SO IN SUMMARY<TO PREVENT EBOLA FOLLOW THIS GUIDELINE:

Prevention efforts focus on avoiding contact with the viruses. The following precautions can help prevent infection and spread of Ebola

Avoid traveling to areas of known outbreaks. Before traveling to Africa, find out about any current epidemics by checking the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.

Wash your hands frequently. As with other infectious diseases, one of the most important preventive measures for Ebola virus and Marburg virus is frequent hand-washing. Use soap and water, or use alcohol-based hand rubs containing at least 60 percent alcohol when soap and water aren't available.

Avoid bush meat. In developing countries, wild animals, including nonhuman primates, are sold in local markets. Avoid buying or eating any of these animals.

Avoid contact with infected people. In particular, caregivers should avoid contact with the person's body fluids and tissues, including blood, semen, vaginal secretions and saliva. People with Ebola or Marburg are most contagious in the later stages of the disease.

Follow infection-control procedures. If you're a health care worker, wear protective clothing — such as gloves, masks, gowns and eye shields. Keep infected people isolated from others. Carefully disinfect and dispose of needles and other instruments. Injection needles and syringes should not be reused.

Don't handle remains. The bodies of people who have died of Ebola or Marburg disease are still contagious. Specially organized and trained teams should bury the remains, using appropriate safety equipment.

BusinessBREAKING News!! Finally Paypal Extends Their Services To Nigeria! by intrepid(op): 4:19am On Jun 29, 2014
Any Nigerian who is into online business will surely know what it means to have paypal list Nigeria as part of their service users. Its been a lot of headache since Nigerians were disallowed to use paypal, and many have suffered a lot from freezing of account to outright denial of access to the website. Some have tried to access them through the back door;many folks also have made a chunk of money from this predicament teaching Nigerians ''how to open paypal account in Nigeria''...i guess this is gonna be the end of all those paypal reports

However,Paypal has finally decided that Nigeria should be included as the intend to extend their services to about 10 new countries now.

I hope we shall make good use of the service and avoid getting banned in the future due to misuse.

Christianity Etc‘There Is No Hell Or Heaven; All Religions Are The Same” ---Pope Francis??? by intrepid(op):
It was a mixture of amusing disbelieve and shock when I read that Pope Francis made the above statement. It’s the news spreading very fast more than the speed of light all over the social media now. It is causing more fuss and confusion now than any other recent religious issues or controversy. A Friend just posted on his Facebook page that “Pope Francis has proved pastor Chris to be right after all”, meaning that pastor Okoties judgment that all Catholics will go to hell and that the Pope is the , antichrist is the truth, and nothing but the truth!

I laughed when I saw it;I was also worried because if I wasn’t the kind of inquisitive mind I am, maybe I also would have believed that the Pope actually said so.I am aware that many of my friends may not have the means of finding out the truth easily especially in a society where gossip and half-truths seem more appealing than the truth. I write to tell them not to fear or worry because such thing never happened.I took time to research this immediately and to post it right away in response to correct my friends’ perception and also to instruct all who are taken in by this kind of posts.

Nigerians believe such things so easily as you would see in many comments online already. And all the myriads of amateur bloggers, all the copy-and-paste, ogbanje bloggers grin grin grin.(in the voice of one Nairalander) and all the self-acclaimed mediocre journalists are not helping matters whenever this kind of controversial issue comes up. As usual, they will just “copy and paste’ and other uniformed folks will take it from there---sharing and re-posting all over the place. . I am also writing to warn all the copy-and –paste wanna-be bloggers to be more careful when they spot controversial information online and to do a little research before “pasting”.I will still write about you guys to talk directly to all those involved.

However, I am posting to also allay the fears of my friends and reassure them that it’s all bunk. Imagine how one such blog captioned the article on his site: “Catholic Pope Condemns Christians Who Condemn And Call IGBO/Diaspora Traditionalists Idol/Demon Worshipers” HERE:

http://www.codewit.com/religion-and-philosophy/15071-catholic-pope-condemns-christians-who-condemn-and-call-igbo/diaspora-traditionalists-idol/demon-worshipers.

Where did Pope Francis mention the word IGBO in all his Christmas speech?.From this one alone you can see how everyone is independently interpreting the article selfishly to push forward some personal agenda.First of all the ORIGINAL article was written by a controversial blog known as DIVERSITY CHRONICLE, owned by Erik Thorson and this article was written Dec 5th 2013.Check the ORIGINAL UNCENSORED article HERE .And this is what the author of that blog wrote in his Disclaimer below.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DISCLAIMER:“The original content on this blog is largely satirical.“I ceased in the year 1764 to believe that one can convince one’s opponents with arguments printed in books. It is not to do that, therefore, that I have taken up my pen, but merely so as to annoy them, and to bestow strength and courage on those on our own side, and to make it known to the others that they have not convinced us.” –- Georg Christoph Lichtenberg.
It is in the spirit of the above quote that I write. Who am I you may ask? My name is Erik Thorson. I created this blog for my own personal amusement.

Copyright © 2013 Diversity Chronicle All Rights Reserved
.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I 'd like to start by letting you know that the article is a SATIRE.A satire is a kind of writing usually done in a way that mocks or ridicules some person, ideology or activity.
SATIRE (Oxford dictionary): The use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues. Another more common word we all use is CARICATURE---So this guy was making caricature of the church, her teachings (Not only the Catholic Church particularly because he said certain other things which we all as Christians hold very dear.)a. A literary work in which human vice or folly is attacked through irony, derision, or wit.b. The branch of literature constituting such works. See Synonyms at caricature.2. Irony, sarcasm, or caustic wit used to attack or expose folly, vice, or stupidity.

• Compare what the blog alleged the pope said about Nigeria to this statement (Prayer) the pope prayed about Nigeria on Christmas day-—which some uninformed people erroneously believed to be the day he made the statement, ” Prince of Peace, in every place turn hearts aside from violence and inspire them to lay down arms and undertake the path of dialogue. Look upon Nigeria, rent by constant attacks which do not spare the innocent and defenseless. Bless the land where you chose to come into the world, and grant a favorable outcome to the peace talks between Israelis and Palestinians. Heal the wounds of the beloved country of Iraq, once more struck by frequent acts of violence” .Here is the full transcript of Popes speech: HERE

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/transcript-pope-francis-christmas-speech-article-1.1558065

• The article also claimed that the Pope convened a Vatican 3 council and it was actually at the council that he delivered this “new” doctrine. Please for your information, there is nothing like Vatican 3 council. The Church has just had Vatican 1 and 2 which ended in the late 1960s hence this line alone will tell any informed mind that the entire article was a joke.

• For some of us who swallow hook line and sinker everything they read on the internet without trying to research further, at least I want you to click on this link and see the kind of guy that wrote that article and his friends, then you will get a glimpse that they all fully understand what their friend meant and they all were praising him for the effect of his articles using the art of satire.

http://diversitychronicle./responsa/

For those who are always on the lookout for any material to discredit other churches, may it be known to you that there are more important things to do for the kingdom than chasing frivolous issues, especially what you don’t understand. While looking for information on this I came across this post in one online forum about this particular issue and wish to share with you:

“I am a Roman Catholic CONVERTED FROM PROTESTANTISM, and I can assure you there was no Vatican III council. It would have been all over the media and 2 Pope Francis did not say all religions are true if he had he would had been labeled an AntiPope and a Heretic and excommunicated from the Church. I challenge you to study Christian History and prove that The Catholic church is not the Church that Christ instituted. I have learned more in 2 years about the Christian faith as a Catholic than I did in 31 as a protestant including my time in Bible college”

http://www.raptureforums.com/forum/prophecy-end-times-chat/82535-pope-francis-says-all-religions-same.html

We all know how possible it is now to edit videos and add voice or some other effects as you wish. (Remember Chidimma’s case and also that of Adams Oshiomole’s photoshopped sex pictures?), hence for those who will watch some mischievous videos showing the Pope, please be guided. Why would such HOT BREAKING NEWS not make front page on NY Times, DailyMail and Huffington Post? Why have we not heard such a juicy CNN and BBC friendly news on both channels and other big outfits, instead we are reading it on one controversial blog? Watch EWTN if you wish.

I wish to tell all my Christian friends who are more interested in end time issues more than in having a sincere relationship with God and their neighbor to be more careful lest they be deceived. Do not dwell so much on signs of the end or on doomsday stories and prophesies. The most important thing is to be ready, living the holy life without which no eye shall see the Lord; living in such a way that whenever Jesus comes, you will not be found wanting. Heaven is the destination. Keep your head up soldiers.

NB: Please kindly share this post on your page and help diffuse this mischievous work of the enemy. You’ll be helping a soul somewhere immensely. SHALOM!

cap28: The forces you are trying to unseat are so ferocious that it will take much more than mere marching to remove them.

Nigeria's only saviour at this point in time is a grass roots revolutionary movement made up of all ethnic groups - this movement needs to be a nationalist movement with the sole aim of getting rid of the capitalist system that has been in place in Nigeria which has ensured that only 1% of Nigerians benefit from Nigeria's vast wealth. We have to look at what we need to do in order to remove this cancerous system which is being run from the top by Europe and America and implemented further down the food chain by their stooges the morally bankrupt Nigerian politicians.

PoliticsOccupy Nigeria 2014 & Beyond by intrepid(op):
It’s about 1 year, 11 months and 3 weeks ago that Nigerians rose up in unison to condemn the removal of fuel subsidy, and for once the voice of the people “prevailed” to some extent and today we have the Wobbly legged SURE-P.

What it showed vividly was that Nigerians can actually rise up to demand for their rights and also to demand accountability from all our leaders asa group(a nation) and in our respective circles—villages and LGAs…IF we all think that we can’t take any more of the excesses of government, all done in the most peaceful way possible.

If we ever get tired of looking, standing aloof and suffering and smiling!

The struggle continues and I think the ONE most important reason all of us should always “OCCUPY” Nigeria should be to fight CORRUPTION and demand for punishment of corrupt individuals both in government and private sector.

Corruption is what caused the fuel subsidy wahala in the first place with all the off-shoots that spiraled to this time. Whatever government did at that time to placate Nigerians about the pump price was not the crux of the matter.
Corruption made our universities to be a big joke in the community of world schools such that Nigerians are fleeing to Ghana,Togo, and even Benin Republic and Philippines to study.

Corruption has made us a look like a “cancer’ in the eyes of other nations and the effect is felt by our people outside this shores.
It has made many Nigerian sublime GENUISES and TALENTS to be siphoned from here to places where some of them are appreciated and some just got frustrated into doing drugs and crime; many Nigerian youth are in prisons abroad which some of them prefer to coming back to a “free” society here that cares nothing about them.

Many are suffering abroad but prefer to stay on there than come back here; many stories abound of Nigerians trying to cross over to Europe via the desert where many met their deaths and some ended in prisons…The list of the monstrous offsprings of corruption are endless, hence the best occupation NOW is to look corruption squarely in the face and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Why should corrupt officials not be prosecuted to act as a deterrent to smaller criminals in our land?

What is the future of our kids? Will they ever have a country they can be proud of when they grow up;a country for which citizenship they would not be ostracized by their peers elsewhere and a country they can long to come back to, proudly after sojourn in any foreign land? Will our kids have a country they can give all their hearts fully aware that their interests will be defended and catered for?

That country is still possible if we stand up collectively and as individuals we demand and declare an all out war against corruption.

I believe that should be our job; OCCUPY NIGERIA AGAINST CORRUPTION and we shall be saved.

CultureGovernment Takes Measures To Legalize Marijuana Are Passed by intrepid(op):
One year ago, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper signed an executive order ratifying the overwhelming victory Amendment 64, the nation's first statewide vote to end marijuana prohibition. At that moment the personal use, possession and home-cultivation of small amounts of marijuana became legal in the Centennial State for adults 21 years of age and older.

The headlines over the last year have understandably focused on the implementation of Amendment 64's unprecedented framework to regulate and tax sales of marijuana to adults. After all, Amendment 64 doesn't simply remove criminal penalties; it creates the world's first legal market for marijuana, licensing cultivation, processing and retail outlets. Reducing criminal penalties for possessing small amounts of marijuana does not alone address the inherent harms of prohibition -- the enormous unregulated market, the unequal application of the laws, especially for people of color, and unregulated products of unknown potency and quality. Moreover, creating a state-based market for legal marijuana sales raised the prospect of a direct conflict with federal prohibition. That issue however was basically settled when the Department of Justice issued guidelines in August that gave Colorado a cautious green light to proceed without imminent threat of interference by the feds.

In the midst of all the attention-grabbing focus on regulation and new tax revenue, we shouldn't forget that Amendment 64 removed criminal penalties and increased personal freedom for Coloradans. A year ago the regime of marijuana prohibition in Colorado was forever changed. Law enforcement and judicial culture and policies adapted to the will of the people.

According to the Colorado Center on Law and Policy, by removing criminal penalties the state has saved anywhere from $12 million to $40 million dollars over the last year. (Others have estimated the state spends over $60 million enforcing marijuana prohibition at the levels now legal, so the CCLP estimate is probably on the conservative side.) Over the last decade, the state has averaged over 10,000 arrests and citations per year for minor marijuana possession at the levels now legal in the state.

Because of Amendment 64 and the simple decriminalization of marijuana in the state over the last year, 10,000 primarily young adults will likely not be hindered by the collateral consequences of a drug charge. Noxious racial disparities in marijuana law enforcement will also likely decrease dramatically.

FamilyAndrew Needs Your Advice Please by intrepid(op):
My name is Andrew. I’m not a good story teller but I’ll try to let you know what I have been carrying in my mind for so long and would like to know whatever help you can
give me. I want to put across my mind the way I can and need your candid advice. You are very free to condemn my action but all I need now is what I should do to get my life in place once again. I’M REALLY dieing.

Two years into my stay in the university I joined a group I thought was just another students’ club as I was told. Back in the village I wasn’t particularly a quiet person but I refrained from certain things like smoking and drinking .I also had no exclusive relationship with any female(girlfriend).

In fact I was a virgin before I entered the university despite the pressure I had about sex from my secondary school days until my first year in the university....But what happened to me?

My parents were not pagans but they were also
not serious Christians. They went to church but it mad no serious impact on either them or them or us their children. My mom was relatively rich. She sold ivory, beads and assorted jewellery. My dad was a director in one of the government health agencies. So I was born into a relatively comfortable home. I had a couple of things that my mates envied. But I felt a bit empty inside. I could not actually explain my feelings or what caused it. All I knew was that sometimes I felt lonely and needed some company and appreciation. There was a void in me that nobody seemed to understand and I sought hard to fill.

Then I got admission into the university to read chemical engineering. Once in the university I saw myself surrounded by myriad of friends of all shades and colours, shapes and sizes. I felt very free and unrestrained in my quest to find fulfilment. Then I can’t now recall how everything happened but I found myself going out with some boys and girls who influenced me into drinking and smoking. It was at this time that I was also introduced to sex. The girls in our company were somehow always available and had a way of arranging other girls for any of us. I plunged deep into this life.

The little moral sense I had from some Christians who visited our house and from church simply disappeared don’t know if I even had any conscience anymore. Still I felt this void and needed something o fill it. One day we moved to a club and after a good night of absolute nothings, we could not come back to the hostel. We invaded a private female hostel outside the campus and raided the place. I actually raped one of the girls.

She was a virgin!

My heart aches and is totally restless as I write this. I knew this particular girl on campus but I’m sure she could never recognize I was the one who violated her. She was from my village, can you imagine that? After about 4 months I came home and saw her in the village. You know what? She was pregnant! Something in me told me strongly that I was responsible, but nobody will ever know, even the girl herself. I knew this because she was a virgin the night I forced her and I can still hear that silent sobs as I had my way on an innocent girl.
Sometimes the mere sight of her makes me feel like jumping into the river and damning all the consequences....and this feeling can really be very strong sometimes. I am dying inside. On one of the days I even met her at the hospital where she had come to see the doctor with her mom. And since I saw her there I had not been myself. I even contemplated suicide many times as I felt more empty and dirty and useless. There is no meaning in life for me.

Her family was Christian and had really passed through a lot of ridicule and pains. Both parents were leaders in the church. She safely delivered of a baby boy. She had left school and was living with the reverend sisters until then. About one year and 11 months, she was back to school and nobody could know she ever gave birth unless very close friends and some family members.

Four solid years have gone now since all this happened, and the boy looks every bit like me and is always there in the house whenever I go home. I am now through with my studies and have gone back to the faith once again, giving my life to Jesus. I have since been trying to amend all my wrongs now but one very fundamental problem eating deep into my bone is this: I am sure that this boy, Kosisochukwu is mine, though no one knows but how do I start the claim?

How do I reveal my deed? Just how do I start the story and this convoluted journey to claim a boy that is already so attached to his family? Will anyone believe me or forgive me? I want my child that I see everyday growing into a smart intelligent healthy lad in front of me. I feel like exploding and melting into nothing, like a part o me is missing and I can’t do anything about it.

I am seeing my own son, living without the joy of a true father and there is nothing I can do. I see this innocent lad calling another man “daddy” and i am imagining what will eventually happen when he’ll find out that the man he had called day all his life was indeed his mom’s father.
What should I do? Somebody help please.

PoliticsA Reply To Chris Okotie's Judgement On Catholics by intrepid(op): 11:11pm On Dec 21, 2013
A REPLY TO MR. CHRIS OKOTIE’S ALLEGATION THAT, “All CATHOLICS WORSHIP SATAN; THEY WILL ALL GO TO
HELL”

By Very Rev. Fr. Jacob Ugwuoke, CM

I begin with the song, Catholic ka m ga eje
nime ya ka m ga anwu. Chineke bu
eziokwu ife soro uwa fa kwube (Alleluia),
meaning “I will continue to be a Catholic,
die as a member, God is real, no matter
what the world or people are saying”.

I decided to wait for three weeks before
writing a rejoinder to this allegation to
make sure that Mr. Okotie would be sober
while reading this. I am quite sure that a
man who was drunk three weeks ago
should be sober by now, but if at this
moment he is not sober, then people who
say he is insane could be correct.

However, I don’t think he is insane, and
should it be medically proven he is insane,
whenever he recovers, he should read this.

At the same time, I shall keep him in my
prayers. I will try to keep this rejoinder as
simple as possible so that an average
mind could read this rejoinder and
understand the Catholic positions in the
alleged areas.

I concur that:
Eagles do not hide when they see a storm
gathering, lions do not retreat when the
enemy threatens and kings do not run
when they hear the sound of battle. Rather
the eagle flies boldly into the eye of the
storm without a trace of fear but with
power, majesty, grace and passion. The
lion rises and roars with courage and
strength as his adversary approaches.

The king does not yield one inch of the field to
the marauding enemy, but rather gallantly
and boldly leads his captains and princes
into the most dangerous part of the battle.
This surely is our calling and the essence
of our lives. (Femi Kayode)

This is why we are Christians. That is the
essence of our baptism and confirmation.
We need to defend our beliefs. God has not
filled us with the spirit of timidity. “For I am
not ashamed of the gospel, because it is
God's power for the salvation of everyone
who believes, of the Jew first and of the
Greek, as well” (Romans 1:16). I must be
prepared to never be ashamed of or tired of
explaining what I believe to be true.

Mr. Okotie, I trust you are listening. I am writing
this rejoinder for the following reasons:

(1) One of the spiritual works of mercy in
Catholic teaching is to instruct the ignorant
of which Mr. Okotie appears to be one.
(2) According to 2 Timothy 3:16, “All
scripture is God-breathed and is useful for
teaching, rebuking, correcting and training
in righteousness.
(3) Simply because I am involved, he is
criticizing the faith in which if we are given
an opportunity to reincarnate. I will still be
a Catholic, and Mr. Chris needs to know
and understand the right teachings of the
Catholic Church before criticizing.

MR. OKOTIE’S ALLEGATIONS

(1) CATHOLICS DO NOT BELIEVE IN HEAVEN
Sir, I was told you woke up one Sunday
morning, December 1st, 2013 precisely and
stunned your congregation by declaring
that “All Catholics worship Satan and they
will all go to hell”.

The recent allegations do not portray you
as a gentleman, sir. The speaker of the
House of Rep United States John Boehner
said that, “When you criticize something
you don’t know about it undermines your
credibility”. We all reveal ourselves to the
world when we criticize others’ beliefs. It
may undermine our credibility. Sometimes
it is best for us to remain silent, otherwise
our words may lead to embarrassment.

Please allow me to correct you in
obedience to the word of God that the
whole teachings of the Catholic Church all
aim at helping us to live better with people
here on earth so that we enjoy our eternal
reward in heaven. You do not believe in
heaven more than the Catholic Church. For
the sake of space I shall not highlight all
our teachings about heaven here. If you
need more clarification you can enroll as a
Catechumen, and we will be delighted to
instruct you.

The Annunciation: The Catholic Church in
the first joyful mystery, sir, teaches that
God sent Angel Gabriel from heaven to the
Blessed Virgin Mary to announce to her
that she would be the mother of Jesus (Lk
1:26-38, John 1:14). Sir, God and angels
dwell in heaven and not in limbo or hell as
you might think.

The Nativity: The Catholic Church teaches
that the whole purpose of God becoming
man is for our redemption from the power
of evil so that we can enjoy our eternal
reward in heaven. Jesus wasn’t born on
Christmas (Lk 2:6-20, Matthew 1:18-25)
simply to proclaim the good news only. He
came because mankind lost heaven as a
result of the fall of Adam and Eve. The
purpose of the whole proclamation of the
Kingdom of God as we have them in
Matthew 5:1-16, 6:33, 7:21, MK 1: 14-15
and the miracles were to build our faith so
that we can enjoy our eternal reward in
heaven, sir. The baptism of Jesus in the
river Jordan as recorded in Matthew 3:
11-17, Mk 1:9-11, Lk: 15-22, John 1: 26-34
was to teach us to repent so we may enjoy
our eternal reward in the Kingdom of God.

Please, when the Bible or Catholic Church
makes reference to the “Kingdom of God”
they are referring to heaven, sir. Jesus
answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless
one is born of water and the Spirit, he
cannot enter the Kingdom of God” (John 3:
5). The institution of the holy Eucharist in
Matthew 26: 26- 28, Mark 22:25, Lk 22: 14
-20, 14-20, John 6: 33-59 all talked about
the importance of the sacrament of the
Holy Eucharist for the salvation of souls.

These are what we call the luminious
mysteries of the rosary. They are biblical
and were not taken from limbo, and we
believe they are necessary for salvation.
“Whoever eats my body and drinks my
blood abides in me and I in him.”(John
6:56). Any Christian who abides in Jesus
and Jesus in him or her will go to heaven.

It is a Catholic teaching, sir. Christ told the
apostles to do this in memory of Me. “…
and gave thanks to God for it. Then he
broke it in pieces and said, "This is my
body, which is given for you. Do this to
remember me."(1 Corinthians 11: 24). I
don’t know how often you do this in your
Church, or have you omitted it on purpose
simply because it pricks your conscience,
or because it doesn’t sound right for you
even though these are the words of Christ,
Himself?

Well, sadly, I am not surprised. it was
foretold that “For the time will come when
they will not endure sound doctrine; but
{wanting} to have their ears tickled, they
will accumulate for themselves teachers in
accordance to their own desires (2 Timothy
4:3). What is in the Bible is not a question
of choice.

If we are to make choices of
what to obey or choose teachers who
would tell us what we want to hear then it
is no longer Christianity. One might refer to
it as an ecclesiastical bum-mbam-dabum.

Let me delve more into the Glorious
mysteries that of the Ascension of Christ
into heaven, as recorded in Mark 16:19-20,
Acts 1:6-11. If we do not believe in heaven,
why, therefore, do we pray this prayer, sir?
The Catholic Church believes in the
Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into
Heaven as the 4th mystery (Rev12: 1). In
fact, it was promulgated as a dogma by
Pope Pius XII. Please, ask questions if you
don’t understand, Mr. Okotie.

Lastly, sir, the fifth mystery is the crowning of Mary
Queen of Heaven and Earth (Rev. 12:12).
You can see they all have biblical citations,
as well. I couldn’t give you all the
mysteries and other citations about our
belief in heaven due to lack of space.

Did I hear you say that we worship Satan?
Probably you were referring to the use of
images in the Catholic Church which is as
old as the bible itself. Sir, could it be that
you are confusing use and worship? When
we stroll down the memory lane together,
you will discover that images have always
been used in the temple during worship in
Jerusalem during the era of Christ, and He
never objected to that.

God commanded the addition of carved images on the ark of
the covenant (Exodus 25:18-22). In some
tabernacles in the Catholic Church you
would find carved images of the lamb,
angels, saints, Jesus. It originated long
ago incase you might think it is a modern
practice. The following sections talked
about temple curtains with images: Exodus
26:1, Exodus 26:31. In Numbers 21:8-9,
God commanded use of statue. Moses
made a brazen serpent. In contrast to
those who believe statues are always
idolatrous, God himself commanded the
use of statues. In 1 Kg 6:23-29, statues in
Solomon's temple particularly that of
cherubim were placed within the Holy of
Holies, which itself was covered in pure
gold. Futhermore,1 Kg 7:29, 1 Kg 7:36
talked about images in Solomon's temple. I
refer you to the followings as well: 1 Kg
7:45 temple items of polished bronze, 1 Ch
28:18-19, altar with cherubim images 2 Ch
3:7-14, temple with carved cherubim. Large
graven statues (15 feet tall with 15 foot
wing-spans) of cherubim plated in gold, in
the Holy of Holies, no less. The curtain or
veil at the entrance had cherubim woven
into its design. Other ornamentation
included trees and fruits. Images and
statues, per se, are not the problem. But
taking something man-made and
worshipping it as a god is a denial of that
which is properly due to God.

Remember that Christmas celebration has a pagan
origin and you accepts that Christians do
not worship juju or have not become
pagans by celebrating Christmas on that
day. Likewise common sense should
inform you that Catholics do not sin or
worship idols by using images to meditate
while praying. Confer my posts on the
origin of Christmas and Sancta Claus on
December 12th and 18th on facebook. Sir,
could you spare us of these your
CHURCHIANITY attitude and sophomoric
stuffs?

We cannot turn the Catholic Church into a
hall for your sake or due to some carnal
criticisms coming from people who refuse
to see things with the eyes of faith, but
continue the rich traditions that we have
inherited from the apostles. Interpretations
of the bible MUST be within a context and
not out of context.

I will further refer you to the write up of my brother Noel Ify Alumona CM on the 13th of December 2013 clarifying Catholic position on the use of
images as follows:
Catholics use statues, paintings, and other artistic devices to recall the person or thing depicted. Just as it helps to remember one’s mother by looking at her photograph, so it helps to recall the example of the saints by looking at pictures or statues of them. Catholics also use statues as teaching tools. In the early Church they were especially useful for the instruction of the illiterate. Many Protestants have pictures of Jesus and other Bible pictures in Sunday school for teaching certain people and have three-dimensional nativity scenes at Christmas.

God forbids the worship of images as
gods, but he doesn’t ban the making of
images. If he had, religious movies, videos,
photographs, paintings, and all similar
things would be banned. It is when people
begin to adore a statue as a god that the
Lord becomes angry. Thus when people
did start to worship the bronze serpent as
a snake-god (whom they named
"Nehushtan"wink, the righteous king Hezekiah
had it destroyed (2 Kgs. 18:4).

Since many Catholics sometimes bow or
kneel in front of statues of Jesus and the
saints, many non-Catholics confuse the
legitimate veneration of a sacred image
with the sin of idolatry. Though bowing
can be used as a posture in worship, not
all bowing is worship. In Japan, people
show respect by bowing in greeting (the
equivalent of the Western handshake).

Similarly, a person can kneel before a king
without worshipping him as a god. In the
same way, a Catholic who may kneel in
front of a statue while praying isn’t
worshipping the statue or even praying to
it, any more than the Protestant who
kneels with a Bible in his hands when
praying is worshipping the Bible or praying
to it.

The bottom line is, when God made the
New Covenant with us, he did reveal
himself under a visible form in Jesus
Christ. For that reason, we can make
representations of God in Christ. Even
Protestants use all sorts of religious
images: Pictures of Jesus and other
biblical persons appear on a myriad of
Bibles, picture books, T-shirts, jewelry,
bumper stickers, greeting cards, compact
discs, and manger scenes. Christ is even
symbolically represented through the
Icthus or "fish emblem."

Common sense tells us that, since God
has revealed himself in various images,
most especially in the incarnate Jesus
Christ, it’s not wrong for us to use images
of these forms to deepen our knowledge
and love of God. That’s why God revealed
himself in these visible forms, and that’s
why statues and pictures are made of
them.

The Church absolutely recognizes and
condemns the sin of idolatry. What non-
Catholics fail to recognize is the distinction
between thinking a piece of stone or
plaster is a god and desiring to visually
remember Christ and the saints (who are
alive in heaven, not dead) by making
statues in their honor.

The making and use of religious statues is
a thoroughly biblical practice, and a
beautiful way to deepen your faith and
grow closer to Christ.

POPE JOHN PAUL II AND POPE FRANCIS AS
ANTICHRISTS?
What challenges my imagination is that
recently you have formed the attitude of
blackmailing different denominations and
men of God. I always believed that
preachers who spent time criticizing other
Christian denominations are preachers who
lacked materials on what to preach or who
do not know how to preach. In 2001, you
were involved in a press war with Chris
Oyakhilome of Chris Embassy Church and
TB Joshua of the Synagogue, Church of all
Nations.

You were purported to have called
T.B Joshua “Son of the devil”. Remember,
it was Mr. Mike Okiro (a Catholic) and the
then Lagos State Commissioner of Police,
and later Inspector General of Police, who
invited you to make peace with them. You
have now turned your back saying that Mr.
Mike Okiro, as a Catholic, will go to hell.
Have you ever seen the following in the
Bible: “Blessed are the peacemakers for
they shall be called the children of
God” (Matthew 5: 9).

If Mr. Okiro is to go to hell as a Catholic for trying to make peace
between you and your enemies, where will
you go for failing to make peace with your
two divorced wives? This time around you
are facing the Catholic Church and its
leaders. Which church will be next?
Probably, the Anglican Church or Deeper
Life Bible Church. Only time will tell. We are
watching. ( PART B TOMORROW).

RomanceHow To Handle Your Exes After Marriage. by intrepid(op): 9:04pm On Dec 21, 2013
Complacency is not a good word in marriage relationship. So also is the phrase; “taking for granted”. Follow these tips and you will not regret or blame anyone:

Do not be complacent or take anything in your relationship for granted. This mostly concerns your communication with your spouse.

Assumption of many things will soon bring many preventable heartaches. So in the issue of handling your exes, do not be complacent or take any suspicious move by any ex for granted. Raise an alarm if need be.

Your family, your name/integrity, your future and most importantly, your eternity (salvation of your soul) is at stake here. Let’s continue with practical steps of handling ones ex (es) after marriage.

So as you finally have decided to settle down in your new home, you should take some drastic steps and make up your mind that your own marriage MUST work. Why should yours be different or suffer the same ailment as those who are now in the dustbin of failed marriages, when you can build your own to stand any storm? It’s God’s utmost desire to see you settled with absolute peace and joy in your home. Delete names: I have heard from close friends who soon after they got married were told by their husbands to throw away their SIM cards. Some men even destroy the cards themselves and get a new one for their wife. And purpose was to get rid of all old friends including whoever must have his been new wife’s ex.

Many women do while others object and go through the initial pain or disappointment of finding out that her man reasons differently on some minor issues. Sometimes it has even been a source of quarrel between newlyweds. For me, I do not think you should destroy your SIM card; I’d rather you delete ALL “risky” names from your phone. However, I’d also say you should obey him for the interest of peace if, after explanation he refuses to see reasons with you.

Destroying the card is not proper because there may be many other useful contacts which may be difficult to get again due to distance. There may also be some business contacts on the card. The problem is not so much in the SIM card as in the mind of the card holder. I think the most reasonable thing is to simply delete the “risky ‘names from your contact list so that whenever the person calls, you will have to ask who it was and when this repeats a couple of times, he/she may give up.

Speak Up: no one knows your friends more than you. And you alone can unerringly point at the malignant ones who are likely to give problems. When you are married, it’s no longer time to play games or act as if you are teleguided by some invisible force. You have to speak out and “declare” it loud and clear to some people that they should internalize the reality on ground.

Tell them that you do not want them to call you, and say it emphatically so that the caller will know how serious you are. You can also share your worries with your husband if he is an understanding fellow for guidance and protection. Telling him will give you confidence and also make you know that someone is there for you who cares hence, no need for any side attraction.

Dream Big: Dreaming about the future of your wonderful family with you at the center working hard, rowing with all your might as if it were a boat with all of them in it and your husband also doing his best to keep the boat on course. Just think about it all the time. Any foolish distraction could be very disastrous as lives could be lost or some irreparable damage incurred.

You wouldn’t want that, so it’s time to vehemently oppose anyone or anything that will stop you from reaching your destination(unless you have none). No matter what the past was like, realize that you are in a new place with the responsibility of building it up resting on you. Dream it to get you motivated. Don’t be distracted. Jesus is there with you all the way. You are not alone.

“The heart of man is very deceitful above all things and beyond cure, who can understand it….The Lord will reward each man according to what he has done.”---Jeremiah 17:9-10
