Funny how everyone saying he doesn't need 25% never quote the actual law:

Section 134 of the constitution states that a candidate will be declared winner of a presidential election if he has “(a) he has the majority of votes cast at the election; and (b) he has not less than one-quarter of the votes cast at the election in each of at least two-thirds of all the States in the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja

So that section has been interpreted by the Supreme Court. The part b is a compound sentence that puts two-third and fct in the same bracket. Remember, the constitution says Nigeria has 36 states and FCT. It is in that same light that it referred to 2-3rd of (36 states and FCT). It does not mean (36 states) and then (FCT) . I know it is confusing but it has been taking to court and interpreted accordingly .

This guy called Seun Osewa surprises me ehn, he abandons his own platform, allows it to continue on its deteriorating spree due to lack of quality content and engagement. But he goes to another platform to drive quality discussions and engagement. It goes to show that he agrees that the quality of people he so desires to engage are not on Nairaland. If he really loves this platform he should sell it to those who have the business knowledge and technical skills to turn it around. If not, in some years to come, this forum will become archaic, like an archive or a dead ground where you visit for memorial purposes only.

The only reason why what you stated above is not applicable is if the CBN is not watching them closely. These are critical times and all eyes are on banks. I just feel that the CBN doesn't have enough cash to share, not that some cabal is hoarding the money.

Besides, the president is directly involved in this and everyone is playing safe. Even if a politician owns a bank, there's a limit to the amount of cash he can take away. I have worked in a sector where the president has a direct eye on and I know how the most corrupt and highly placed Nigerians fear not to mess things up for themselves.
