I hereby use this opportunity to advice all upcoming investors to use their hand and try analysis on thier own. It may seem difficult at first but will get easier as time goes on. Like now that folks are getting economical with data. Do your own. We even started this game long before this thread came on board. We learnt by trial and error and learning the lessons in between. There is hope in the future, very bright hope. |
@ololufemi, will the gurus be gurus if there are no non gurus? They need the non gurus too to survive. If not let them stop posting for a week, they will be bored to hell! So the moral of this should be to buy Ikeja hotels before the end of the week. |
Dull in here this evening, as the gurus are holding on tight to what they know. Policy of non disclosure and coded statements. Sending tips and analysis to their mailboxes. I have a suggestion, why not you ppl create a cipher code and be using it here so as to exclude the non gurus from using the tips? Una well done eh! |
Initial reports from the market indicates that the oil majors are once more dominating the gainers charts, with chevron picking up N16.53. Wapco has lost about 3.55, NBC is losing 2.97 etc. On the volume side, universal ins has exchanged 233 mil units while FCMB has exchanged 52 mil units, the market is still not closed, so more changes/surprises to come. |
@apache, I bin dey very active for stock market nigeria, very senior member sef, (the one wey dey use red signature!) but had to escape that country and seek asylum for here. How my guys for over there na! (I still dey miss una sha) We gat a good thing going on here and by the time you finish about ten pages here, you will be a CICO expert. Your guru ship is respected over there, you are very welcome. |
Is this the same Apache of stockmarketnigeria forums here? These are my guys over there. |
Does anyone know the current holder of those CICO patents? Could be a gold mine when merryl lynch/ morgan stanley come knocking on Nairaland. |
@hg, do you know why you should read back some pages? Cause you still dont know what GIGO, RORO, DIDO, SIRO, RISO(which is the opposite of SIRO) To update you further, some guys here has patented the trademarks to these passwords to stock riches. You are welcome. |
Hg, read back some 8-10 pages for all the definitions of CICO. |
@bibikings, I have been searching the market for that type of fan to buy for CICO, any suggestions on the fan broker that will have it in stock? |
Pls there is a mistake in what submitted above, it is actually the rivers state govt that holds 3.2 bil units, not M. Babangida. |
Hey hey hey guys, I just dusted up my unity bank annual reports now and there is a good 43 bil units here! If anyone has it check page 27 for the shareholding structure. There is clearly 37 guys with about 33 bil units in between them! Constituting 77% of total shares. Mohammed Babangida has 3.2 bil units to himself only. Am I a share holder in the same unity bank we are discussing? Please tell me these guys did a reconstruction? |
@pumping, are you saying they have only 16 bil units? Maybe am wrong but the annual report they sent to me says 43 bil units. Plus a one for ten bonus last year. Thats why I calculated around 43 bil. I might be wrong you know. |
@Fof2, ha! Justice with mercy? You be judge? Nairaland get big people o. |
@shigidi, unity bank will not rise so fast except the go to the back of the bank building and push the bank (literally speaking) Except that, the bank stock is not heading anyway. Remember they have about 47 billion units outstanding! Wahala in the making(disclosure) i have a lot of units there and is seated for the longest term. |
@Gudchoice, I bin dey follow the arguments since last week, so I sabi where Fof 2 is coming from. Anyways e no easy to predict stocks and thats why I praise the efforts of aktopgun, Fof2, windy et al. |
@Father of 2, which one you come dey yab lady windy na! If you think nobody is above mistake, then give me three 'available' stocks for monday/friday CICO. We go target 10% for next week. E no easy na! Abi you wan help me. |
Someone bought 100k units of Transcorp last week? Maybe the guy made a mistake and wrote trans express as transcorp on his buy order. Hahahahaha! |
@ Gees, the strenght of the NSE will be tested alright, but nothing will happen in the negative. If the judgement turns negative for Yar adua, the guy no go fight civil war, the guy na gentleman na! Very quiet gentleman for that matter! |
Do you guys know why I think our big men will not support a political turmoil now? These fat cats(and they control most of the money and power) they are just too comfortable to rock the boat. Do you think they will like to trade their padded houses where they squander their loot and jump into the jungles with us to také pot shots at each other? Na! I dont think they will swap their hummer jeep for humvees either. Me? I aint got nothing to lose, he who is on the ground, You know the rest na. |
More political stuff, I think Yar adua will retain his presidency come tuesday. Electoral justice is still far off from us. Lets hope for the best. |
Me will be waiting to see a negative ruling on tuesday. This will be a serious buying opportunity for me. By the time things will be stable again, I will be be 1000% up on these stocks. I think I will go to Kenya and check things out, who will go with me. |
Lets borrow bigboylarry's crystal ball for a day and see how we can assist him a bit, since he seems too busy to look into the crystal ball for a very long time. Wapco will drop in price by about 20% this week. First bank will stabilize around the 50 naira range.(No downward moves) Int energy insurance will add at 10 percent this week. The crystal ball says Dunlop will also appreciate, pushed up by its 'penniness' I see NBC moving up a bit. Leventis will go south. I still dey gaze into the crystal ball, more revelations later. |
@ blueband, until we reach the stage where ppl will start doing their jobs properly, we will only try to move our interests, 'somehow' |
I never offer bribes to my broker, but the kind of effect I have on them is so strong. As soon as I stroll into his office, there will be this mild excitement as if Aliko himself has walked in This is because i have discovered how to cultivate them, in their free time, i could turn to a stand up comedian, dishing out rib cracking jokes and all. I also bring along some snacks (mr biggs sometimes) I also attend their personal ceremonies like marriages, naming ceremonies etc. They also attend mine. It will be difficult for them to forget me.Make your broker your friend and you will enjoy him or her. The mistake most of us make is to walk into our brokers offices and look down on them because we think we are superior to them. We expect them to bow down and worship us and our millions. Find your way around your broker, your portfolio will be smiling always ![]() |
windywendy:@ windy, you just hit the hammer on the top of the nail. Nice points. |
Price nko? |
@ nkc, the corolla or even a camry will be a good reward to my trading activities this yr. The purchase will be by nov/dec. 2008. |
@ aktopgun, I placed a sell order for my longman today, and wish my broker will commit a blunder and not sell, hahahahaha. Wishful thinking. |

@ pumping777, aktopgun, Sequel to our yesterdays exchange about Ikeja hotels and Longman, I hereby report that you guys may be a little bit right. Ikeja hotels gained about 0.03%, while Longman gained almost full points, 4.83% or so. I must say you guys are correct to some extent. Keep the candles burning matey. |
@ loma, this one na original amu robber profits! Long live NSE! |

If you say candles no dey predictive, show us your method that is predictive, abi? As far as I know, no method is fully predictive 100% of the time, not even yours. Abi no be you recommend CCNN several weeks back when it was N25 and above? It nose-dived since then and hasn't been able to breach that price yet. There have been other stocks which you recommended and were wrong in retrospect, and that applies to everyone including myself. No one method is 100% correct 100% of the time, so let's stop all this unnecessary attacks on different methods and just focus on doing our best to recommend stocks that will help us make good money using whatever tools we have at our disposal. If you get method wey dey 100% predictive, make you share. Na me go first collect and apply, in addition to both the FA and TA I currently use to select my stocks.
