Mr. Risky:
Well, if its CICO for Afribank, no qualms.  Things will not always remain bad for Transcorp, though.  If we are to go by what the Capital market should be, Transcorp has not so much disappointed anyone.  They didn't promise dividend in 2007, nor 2008, and the usual teething problems with new corporation are what have bedeviled the management; once those shady aspects are scapped off the dead living giant - in the long term (which capital market is supposed to be except for emerging markets like NSE), transcorp should be able to deliver. The horses are still willing to carry the beggars grin grin grin grin grin
My guy, I had wanted to hang unto Transcorp for a few more time, maybe a year or two, but I reasoned, what the heck! why not use this money to play the markets instead of causing a go slow in my portfolio.

I had since done two quick CICO's on two different stocks with same money. Well, we will jump right in when things change cheesy cheesy

@Krrush, I no mind if you will send my some 'coded' tip, you know the fear of the deep pockets,
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 11:49pm On Feb 17, 2008
@Mr Risky, (i like that name) only you are not allowing me to take some calculated risks with Afribank. Really I do not see Afribank in the league of Transcorp, for these reasons;

Afribank is still making profits
Afribank is still conducting banking business
Afribank did not have its aquisition reversed
Afribank just did a PO which could add to its profitability

Transcorp has no hope, no money, no friends and the chances of a boardroom fight is looking closer by the day (remember Odimegwu)

Afribank may use this bonus rumor to stir up interest in their stock and that is no skin off my nose since am into it for CICO only.

A company is languishing in the doldrums of the second tier securities section. The name of this stock is RAK UNITY PET. Just because it has some petrol as its middle name can cause a bull run on this unknown stock (or is the PET for a lovely household creature?).

Does anyone have any info about this company?, please share.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 10:40pm On Feb 17, 2008
@ hbrednic, did I hear the smell of bonus? Nigerians are bonus crazy, and will bid the stock sky high if that rumor happens to be near the truth. I think I will increase the qty of my Afribank.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 10:36pm On Feb 17, 2008
@Iyke-D, if it is the government I know, you are talking about here, they will win any transcorp lawsuit. I wish we should discuss other stocks here, except Transcorp. It reminds me of the mistake I made in the po.

Walked into a banking hall, reeking of cash, picked up two prospectus and started reading, by no means was I a newbie in stocks. But on that day I found myself going for Transcorp above Dangote sugar, the rest is history now as I have dumped my Transcorp at a loss, N3.20 cry cry. and now this bull run before this bad news huh

Could we please discuss living things here? grin grin grin

@hbrendic, the AFRIBANK flight has not taken off as soon as I thought it will. I loaded at 27+ and still dey wait for my CICO opportunity. Meanwhile I exited FBN and has some 'liquidity' in my system, any suggestions.

InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 2:13pm On Feb 15, 2008
the market is still open at 2.10pm? why arent they closed yet?
top 3 gainers oil majors? chevron +13.15, AP +13, total +8.87.
top losers f/mills -4, cadbury -2.85, RT briscoe -1.60, FBN was flirting at the losing side earlier at -2.48, but disappeared now.
UBA sold 65,234,143 units today, a trigger for something about to change! diamond also sold 101,193,970 units.

The market will still change as it is still open.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 8:33am On Feb 14, 2008
My broker couldnt sell my FBN yesterday, making me lose some 'spreadsheet' money.
I only hope they will sell today or I will stop the sale.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 12:37pm On Feb 12, 2008
@ Pumping, my brother I have seen your reply, but just as I opened the NSE site and saw live trading updates, I saw that FBN is still climbing. It chalked up around 2.61 today, with a whopping 13 billion naira worth of transactions, are they crazy?

Cant somebody tell me what the f**k is happening?
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 6:42am On Feb 12, 2008
I understand that FBN is on net bid, does this mean that the price will continue to rise?

I am preparing to exit, only need to know when to.

Pumping, Aktopgun, Wanajo, Fof2, others comment please.

Cadbury is still not looking back, I missed out of that one. I was waiting to see the company bottom at N30, so I could board the flight, but it left while I was still hesitating.Fear causes hesitation, and hesitation will cause your worst fears to come true.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 9:35pm On Feb 11, 2008
News like the ones we read above about UBA may be the trigger the stock needs to shoot off the tracks. You know how peeps will pretend like they dont need something until there is a rush, then everyone will be diving into the fray as if they are hearing of the bank for the first time.

Meanwhile if this doesnt jack up the price I will start to think another factor is at play there, like a deep insider offloading quietly and filling all the bids. Is this not possible?
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 2:05pm On Feb 11, 2008
And the elephant continues to power on, 2.48 increase in stock price today.

When do I sell and run, 20% gained for me?
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 11:28am On Feb 11, 2008
@gabros, do you mean you went and collented a million for 6 months at 30% interest? What were you thinking, or was it a typographical error? Well you must know something we dont, that is the only explanation for that type of financial planlessness.

Check in the last page for stock recommendations made this morning by some members, may help you out, then pray for luck, I think you are going to need it. cheesy

Thank God I have finished buying Beta glass and Longman before Oga easimoni hinted on it.

For a big guy like that to like what I bought shows me that I am growing in this business.

I thank all the gurus for the lessons and recommendations.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 6:25pm On Feb 08, 2008
Oga easimoni, are you blaming the silent readers here ( usual culprits) for the rise of NASCON?

Well some people here are very heavy in the pockets.

@ upward, the NSE site is authentic no doubt, but we need analysis like the portfolio stuff from nig.securities.

I believe they can only improve as time goes on.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 5:43pm On Feb 08, 2008
Funny but just use any one you could get to do your calculations, afterall it could have gone eitherways.

What I do is to wait till evening for them to have their arguments (they may even be doing this in truth) before agreeing on a final price to paste, the NSE official site could also be the ones to blame, they may update prices after the market has already closed.

NAMPAK, phew! A narrow escape for me, in these days where we invest first and ask questions later, only God can help us.

The major reasons for buying stocks these days are only that it will rise in price. Another lesson learnt, look before you leap, and all that appreciates are not gold.

NAMPAK, phew! That was a narrow escape for me, in these days and times where we readily invest first and ask question later, I very nearly loaded some Nampak shares.

Thank God, another Wema would have happened to me.

So lesson learnt, look before you leap, and all that appreciates are not gold. Hahahaha!

Sometimes ago, I was disputing the almighty friday factor over stock prices as popularised by Fof2, but now it seems the guy is very correct going by what happened today.

Where is Fof2, tell am say I dey owe am one bottle of kaikai!

@aktopgun, nice explanation, very clear indeed.

But you know using touchdowns here for some of us that have never watched American football will be a little confusing, does it work the same way for soccer, say substitute the touchdowns with goals and goalposts?
