jenju:
Budget arround N3m for a "new" 2007 Toyota Corolla if you can find one. I can however get you a brand new "tear leather" 2008 model in 6 weeks if you prefer, for only N3.15m. If interested email me @ tikola70@hotmail.com
Sorry to ask this question, but the 2007 corolla, is it in any way superior in quality than the 2009 model? Am asking cause of the price disparity between the two. I was thinking that the 2007 model should be cheaper since is is now 'old model' cheesy cheesy

Please explain this to me.

The 2009 model corolla is a fine bird, but does anyone here know the price of the 2007 model and if I can find it 'new' in Nigeria.

@aktopgun, pumping777, you know what has been strenghtening this my bid-offer war perspective, look at Longman today. There was up to 1.8 millon units exchanged in about 33 deals, this stock has been relatively scarce before.

What I think happened today was that supply went up (in reaction to recent price increases) but demand met it equally, so we can say this is an eqillibrium. As we can see, the price didnt change at 29.91.

But tomorrow, a decline may occur as more panicked sellers will try to offload at todays closing price, then buyers will bid lower. How do you guys like this angle?

aktopgun:
Large volume and a green candle stick is a good combination. the bears tried to bid it to a low today but the bulls overcame them and pushed the price even higher today. but i've been wrong before wink
I get what you guys mean, but sometimes the way I read this is that supply for this share is increasing in reaction to increased prices, so deals has increased. As more increase happens, more sellers will join the selling line and bam! oversupply. which will make buyers to run or at best offer lower prices, then prices will reduce.

The reverse are cases where very low no of deals is attributable to unavailability, which causes a bull run on that stock.

I might be wrong you know.

I am liking the performance of Ikeja hotels in the past few days, although it had gained nearly full points for three days running, I still think it will experience turbulence in the nearest future.

Look at the very large no of share traded today, about 28 mil. units and 168 deals. Prices may slow down tomorrow.

Well all has been clarified, if Mypeace has some more Afribank, he can sell to me tomorrow! I still wan buy.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 2:37pm On Feb 20, 2008
@mypeace, Afribank seems to be one of the best investing decicions I made of recent. It was bought three weeks ago precisely on the 24 jan 2008, no complaints at all. Plus I never use leverages to buy my stocks, I own my money 100%, no loans.
I can afford to wait two years if I so wish. I love my Afribank and is planning to load more weight tomorrow!
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 2:23pm On Feb 20, 2008
@mypeace, my Afribank was bought at N27, so am still within striking distance.

RT briscoe looks cheap after it lost some price yesterday, I think the stock will start an upward trend soon, looks cheap to me.

@beginner, the charge is in relation with how much you are using to buy the stocks, like if you are buying a stock worth 100 thousand naira, the charge should be 1 thousand naira only.

What I know is that something is happening behind the scenes in Transcorp, but no matter who is buying or who is selling, its still too risky to jump in.

Let me add some humor as we await price report from the floor.
It will be funny if all of us give reasons for choosing th funny names we use on this forum.

It makes me laugh when I think about how somebody chose to answer Shigidi, or windy wendy, (the lady dey do fan) or Aktopgun, maybe the guy worked as a police or soldier (or worst still robbe, Ha no be me takl am oooo, ).

Okay lets assume easimoni has been making some serious cash easily, hence his name. What of roughcut, abi the guy dey cut peeps for deals? I will never forget pumping777 (this guy must be manufacturing pumping machines. Napoleon must be born in the same year the famous one from france was defeated. Yodiyokun, No idea.

Ololufemi must have at least twelve babes, fof two? Well his own is understandable, until he will score another goal and have quintiplets, his name here will change to Fof6. Samstone may be a big dealer in stones, or a building contractor.

Mr. Risky must have been a dedicated gambler, Frankiriri sounds like a south south oil kingpin. Debenzed must have at least one mercedes car, and on and on the list goes.

@wanajo, you just mentioned some good banking stocks that will be prefarable against Diamond.

But I am afraid, Skye may not be available on the floor, Oceanic has got some ppl verifying certificates which they will subsequently sell,(may pull the price down for some time) Zenith, I doubt they will offer anything in june, since there is this unified calendar, making us to wait it out till December. UBA still has an unexplainable gravitational force pulling it down, has been on my brokers 'buy' list since Dec. Last yr. (A record breaking performance for the stock) but make them rise na! E no gree.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 12:09pm On Feb 19, 2008
@Aktopgun, I doubt if Diamond will drop again today as the regular crowd will latch on to that result and raise enough bids to sustain a price increase for a few days more.

Keep up the good work.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 12:00pm On Feb 19, 2008
Sorry guys, I was talking about Diamond bank above.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 11:57am On Feb 19, 2008
@wanajo, maybe it was because the market didnt find anything special about this result that the stock lost yesterday.

Market insiders may have seen this result early yesterday, so while the rest of us dicks and harrys were buying in to také position in readiness for the expected result, the ppl in the know were busy offloading on top of our heads.

How do you like this conspiracy theory?

By the term minefield, we are refering to a situation where a sector could hurt you if you are not careful in your steps.

No mine will burst in the insurance sector but you could lose good money speculating there. Your money could also be tied down fo a long time.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 9:18am On Feb 19, 2008
@ senator JD, that a stock like int brew and co rose from obscurity to more than a thousand% does not make it an immediate good buy.
In fact you may be guilty of the 'late to the party syndrome' except there are some underlying fundamentals we are not seeing now.

If the post TS bull run in AIICO is to be taken as a guide, then I better load Crusader now, and wait till after PO is done and sell after TS is lifted.

Is there anything wrong with this thinking?

The association of telecommunications employees just announced their happiness over the reversal of the sale of NITEL to Transcorp. They came out of a meeting today and released a press conference urging Transcorp to go to court, so they will be asked by Nigerians what they have been doing since with the company. Bla bla bla……

Is this an early attempt by FG to score some propaganda points against the company or are they any serious?
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 9:18pm On Feb 18, 2008
@pumping, there was no mention of any bonus 'rumour' in the story. Does this mean we should disbelieve the possibility of such occurence.
