That temporary pull back in price by ABC looks as if its only refuelling for a further upward journey. This is one company that could change the way transportation is run in this country.

Well since 'taking care of the GOOD broker' is now such a good idea, I wonder why we cry foul when a big politician steals money. If this should be legalised, then why are we crying corruption. I still feel it is wrong to také undue advantage of the system since it will put all the other poor masses in a disadvantage as they will never get all their small applications allotted in full because Mr millionaire wants some more.

I rest my case.

@Ekwa, how is what you are doing different from bribery? No vex o, just justify your actions as small investors cannot afford to send somebody to London.

Where has 'level playing field' gone to?

Its not as if am a strictly CICO bomber, this is my fifth year on the NSE and its only this yr I started CICO. I still have stocks bought at very ridiculously low prices which am carrying since then and will still keep till I turn 107 years!

Just joking sha, but my long term portfolio is very thick. It will stay until my grand children will be old enough to attend board meetings.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 3:05am On Mar 15, 2008
@Jideakin1, I noticed that what we are chasing as penny stochs or stocks with small nominal value is not sustainable in the long run.

I have benefited immensely from good CICO decisions this year, but how long are we going to be playing this game. Research in other markets has proved that what is expensive had always stayed up, in the average. While stocks that are cheap, or that has low nominal price will always spring nasty surprises.

Také our own environment for example, we like to chase low nominal value stocks, because of the performance of companies like ABC, but how many stocks below N10 can boast of the type of business plan exibited by ABC.

Look before you leap.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 2:44am On Mar 15, 2008
I thought I was the only person thinking longer term until I read the last few pages. Anyways I will still CICO, but less frequently and more fundamentally.

@pumping, the train for Ikeja hotels may still accomodate a few more long distance travellers or even hitch hikers (CICO) Lets see how this one plays out tomorrow.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 10:09pm On Mar 13, 2008
See me see trouble o, how has everybody suddenly started looking at 'my' Transcorp? Chei! And I never buy my own.

Lawalidowu and Savvylanre should steer off o, AKT warn them o.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 10:03pm On Mar 13, 2008
@ topgun, I understand you about Transcorp, my only fear is that by the time the fog clears enough, it's not gonna be selling for N10.

Its a big risk now, but what the heck, life is all a big risk.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 9:49pm On Mar 13, 2008
My man topgun, didnt know you have finished with the psychotic guy, what are your thoughts on transcorp at current stand? Good or bad buy for longest term.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 9:41pm On Mar 13, 2008

InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 9:19pm On Mar 13, 2008
Dang sugar has been pushing up as has been speculated from the begining of the yr. My only surprise was why it took them so long to move up.

One good strategy is to buy stocks with sound fundamentals but ignored by the market. By the time the market realizes their mistake, you will be smiling to the bank. Many other Dangote sugars are out there in the NSE, grab your own now so as to avoid chasing a moving train.

There is one way of knowing a newbie who has read this forum posts long enough before posting, this new entrant, Cee-kay has some very interesting set of stocks selected.

Go on guy, you are welcome.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 8:58pm On Mar 13, 2008
Me? Ha! Am sitting on some cash right now and the thing uppermost in my mind right now is to také one very heavy risk and sit back and enjoy the thrills or laugh at my folly in five years time.

Seriiously thinking of loading heavily on Transcorp and hang on, no matter how long it takes for them to get their acts together.

Where's my brokers number?
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 7:29am On Mar 11, 2008

@grabdaloot, the illiquidity in Champion breweries stock frightens me, I doubt if it will be obtained.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 9:44pm On Mar 09, 2008
Rumor has a very big effect on stocks in the NSE. Supposing I open a rumor mongering outfit and keep blowing in some market rumors into investment decisions? This will be a good idea. I better set up the rumor company shap shap, will do my PP next month.

Meanwhile did anyone hear the latest rumor? GTB is giving 1 for 1.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 8:46pm On Mar 09, 2008
@debenzed, waiting for Wapcos PO rumor to be confirmed will only mean you may arrive late for the price pump party. However my reason for refusing to buy next week is this, supposing you get caught in TS and has to wait it out, the price surge post TS may not happen - reason?

Remember that this is the same company that has paid N1.20 for a N70+ share? How much could they pay with increased shares?
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 8:34pm On Mar 09, 2008
Ha! All the exiled peeps are back! Fof2 and even the BB larry himself! This must be a great night.

@Wanaj0, I am very afraid of the insurance sector now, with these kinds of surprises like the 2kobo dividend, the uncertain # of shares, the 'big claim' scare, the sudden PO/TS traps etc etc, that sector will wait for me until I finish CICO in other sectors. They will see N10 maybe next year.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 8:08pm On Mar 09, 2008
I now have made a stand, I will buy more insurance stocks at any price below N3!

This is what I will like to call my 'margin of error' price.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 7:57pm On Mar 09, 2008
Beta glass bonus, then I don hammer! Only say the thing na rumors only. But why is the price not galloping up as it should.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 7:41pm On Mar 09, 2008
@NBA, your mention of drive through ATM, I heard a friend say its already in Nigeria, but I dont know where. We are coming up, so would you choose NSL over NCR?
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 7:35pm On Mar 09, 2008
By these my postulations above, I am only trying to select the stock that may do better in the longer term between NSL and NCR, this will aid my decision as to which one to position in.

Which would you chose at current valuations, all?
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 7:26pm On Mar 09, 2008
@topgun, the ATM nearest to me has NCR as its model, are you saying it was made by NCR global and then serviced by NCR nigeria, if so dont you think that at one point the two companies may combine operations; if the global arm feel there is good money to be made if they come nearer to this under banked region?
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 7:20pm On Mar 09, 2008
On the other hand, I believe the country still have a lot of potential in making money from flexible payment options. I think this ATMs have come to stay as I now find it so convenient withdrawing cash at odd hours in front of my office, just before I leave office as opposed to travelling to the nearest bank.

As more ppl start to use this option, other methods of payment will become acceptable to the mallams selling suya or the ibo boys owning small shops. Then these big cash options providers will turn up more profits. I think NSL/NCR will rock.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 7:07pm On Mar 09, 2008
Can anyone help clear something for me here? I used to think it was the NCR that mounts cash machines/ATMs, now that link about NSL installing cash machines? Is this the same type offered by NCR or a different type?
