It's all over reputable news, you can see the equipments on tv, the US state department has said that they did leave equipments in Afghanistan, the Talibans have displayed some of the equipments. Summation of that points to the fact that they did leave many equipments there.

The US thought that the Afghan military will be able to withstand the Taliban, that proved to be impossible.
Frankly, there's no winning exit strategy for the US in Afghanistan. Sooner or later the present reality would have happened anyway. The Afghan people are very hard to control, they always have time on their side. Ask the Brits, Russians and now the Americans. Same storyline over generations.
Hate the Taliban all you want but a vast majority of the Afghans saw the US as an occupying forces hence, sooner or later they will side with their own people.
