PoliticsThose Destroying The Naira Won’t Spend Their Loot — Adeboye by ipreach(op): 8:14am On Apr 10, 2017
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Worldwide, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has said those responsible for the drastic loss in value by the national currency, the Naira, will not live to enjoy their illicit gains.

Delivering the sermon yesterday at the special Sunday service organised by RCCG Region 11 aka Ikoyi/Victoria Island family at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, Lagos, Pastor Adeboye said this was a revelation he received from God early this year but which he was sharing for the first time.

‘’Those who are deliberately destroying the Naira will make the money but will not spend it”, he declared.

The Naira has drastically and dramatically nose-dived in value in recent months, exchanging at over N500 to the US dollar before it began to appreciate lately.

Yesterday’s service was the first of its kind by Region 11, whose appellation was changed from “Ikoyi/Victoria Island Family” by Pastor Adeboye.

“On my way here this morning, while I was on the long bridge, God told me to change your name to Blessed Family”, he said.

Dwelling on the theme of the programme, which is “Enlarge”, Adeboye said it connotes the presence of the enlarger as well as the one to be enlarged. “God is not interested in addition but in multiplication,” he said, adding that ”God had pleasure in the prosperity of His people.”

Pastor Adeboye, however, admonished the congregation to always do the will of God and be ready to pay the price for greatness. Earlier, the Mother-in-Israel, Pastor (Mrs. Folu Adeboye, had declared the programme “the beginning of a new day” while also appreciating all those who grew the Region from a humble beginning at Our Saviour’s School in the 1980s.

The service started with the Regional Pastor, Charles Kpandei, leading the congregation to sing the Blessed Family’s special song. He paid glowing tributes to his predecessor, Pastor (Mrs.) Oretayo Adetola, whom he described as the “matriarch” of the Blessed Family.

Dignitaries who attended the special Sunday service include the RCCG National Overseer, the National Secretary (represented), National Treasurer, Elders Fola Aboaba, Felix Ohiwerei, Okey Mofunaya, Chief of Defence Staff, Maj Gen Abayomi Olonishakin, provincial pastors, among others.

Christianity Etc5 Bad Excuses Many People Give For Not Giving To Your Church by ipreach(op): 6:10am On Apr 09, 2017
Consistently giving to your church is a big step in your financial health.
It is also the first step.

Many struggle with the idea of giving to their church. There is a barrier between them and the offering plate (or online giving site).
Often the excuses for not giving are based on a misunderstanding of Scripture or a misunderstanding of their church.
Here are five bad excuses for not giving to your church:

1. God doesn’t tell us to give. You question whether the Bible actually directs us to give. The reality is that the Bible is filled with verses about generosity. From Proverbs 3:9 to 1 Timothy 6:17-19, God demonstrates that we were designed, not to be hoarders, but conduits through which His generosity flows.

2. I don’t make enough money. You feel like money is too tight right now, and that giving is for those with surplus. In the first point, we looked at how the Bible directs us to give. As you read verses about giving, you will notice something missing—an exclusion clause. In Luke 6:21-14, we see Jesus commend a poor woman because she gave, not out of surplus, but out of poverty. When the Bible talks about giving, there is no “out.” There are no loopholes or exclusion clauses. To the contrary, those who give out of sacrifice are celebrated more than those who give out of abundance.

3. I am in debt. You feel like your first obligation should be to pay down debt. While you absolutely should pay down debt, giving still takes a priority. You should not let one bad financial decision (getting into significant debt) lead you to make another bad financial decision (not giving).

4. My money won’t make a difference. You feel like your small gift doesn’t really mean much to your church. As a former administrative pastor at a church, I can tell you that it really does make a big difference. It is amazing what God does when a lot of people give a small amount of money. He takes the gifts and multiplies its Kingdom impact. People hear about and trust Jesus as their Savior. Marriages are mended. Addictions are broken. The hungry are fed. And all because you gave.

5. I know how to manage money better than my church. You feel that you know how to better invest your money for impact than your church does. I find that most of the time, this is because the giver doesn’t understand or see the Kingdom impact of their church, often because a lack of involvement. Only on a very rare occasion would I recommend halting one’s church giving. And in those situations, I would simultaneously recommend finding another church. On most occasions, here is what I recommend—meeting with a pastor to hear about the church’s impact and get involved. Your involvement will probably open your eyes and ears to what God is actually doing through the church.

If you are not giving to your local church, take some time and consider how God talks about generosity in the Bible. Talk to your pastor about it. And get involved.

Don’t miss out on financially participating in your local church. Financial health doesn’t end with generosity, it starts with generosity.

PoliticsNigerians Have Seen That APC Party Has Nothing To Offer Them Except Lies- Wike by ipreach(op): 10:13am On Apr 08, 2017
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, says Nigerians have realised that the ruling party, APC, has nothing to offer except the circulation of lies. In a statement released by his media aide, Simeon Nwakaudu, Wike said this at the Rivers state government house, Port Harcourt when he granted audience to the Abuluoma Council of Chiefs Friday. He said:

"Nigerians have seen that the present ruling party has nothing to offer them except to tell lies. They claim they are fighting corruption, but how many APC former governors have been arraigned. Nobody is against the government fighting corruption, but it must be fought with sincerity. Even when an APC Former Governor is indicted by a judicial commission of Inquiry , they fail to prosecute such a person. I just heard that they have arrested the former Niger State Governor after two years. Maybe because political activities are picking up and they want to intimidate him, that is why this is happening now".
