please don't get it twisted, igbos did not vote PDP because of Obi rather because of the economic downslide it caused them as they are mostly into businesses and the average one of them is allergic to poverty or anything that will make them poor. even if atiku had chosen a Yoruba man or an Hausa Christian sef he still would have won by a landslide in the east, that was why I was pissed off when he chose Obi, he ought to have gone for a Yoruba man if he was smart. let the best man win sha

I thought they truly cared. They're just like the opportunistic friend that only cares about you because of what they stand to gain long term.
some years back I was pro-obama and democrats till I took some time to observe what was really happening. these guys don't care about anyone, they are users and do things based on the sentiments of the crowd. they used Obama to get the votes of blacks and muslin immigrants but they controlled him in reality check out how Libya and Islamic countries were during his tenure, what help did he give to African countries? next they decided to whip up sentiments of feminists and women with the first female president tag with Clinton, I guess the next move is a first gay president tag that is why there is so much LGBT news these days. Blacks are been media controlled and they don't even realise it, even the few celebs that have not been brainwashed are been tagged with "mental sickness" lol. that is why they are crazy about black panther thinking they are winning rather the white owners of marvel are the real winners and they are now talking about a black spiderman with a white girlfriend. Now I know why Michael Jackson sang "all I wanna say is that they don't really care about us"

I lost the password to my account journeytoEl which I used to register here so i'm announcing my birth story with a second account. At 36weeks my baby was in cephalic position then at 38weeks scan revealed my baby's position had changed to transverse lie hence I was booked for elective CS three days after the scan I was quite sad and prayed to God to have it changed because I really wanted to experience natural labour and have an interesting B.S grin ,I was admitted on the night to the given date I had accepted my fate and started looking forward to carrying my bundle of joy then the doc reluctantly requested for a last scan before we proceed since he kept reassuring me it can't change lo and behold the scan revealed my baby was back to cephalic a repeat scan was done and still the same thing. I was so overjoyed and I was discharged. Fast forward to 40weeks,pikin no free show, did walks ,licked pineapple bla bla bla yet Oga just dey gidigba for belle. I was later booked for induction. On the said date I strutted with my full makeup and bags to the hospital, I was admitted and given the first drug around 9:30am ,I was just flexing and watching African magic grin ,eating variety of meals and gisting with hubby, after the third dose the pains started coming in intervals, I could not watch film again, the wrapper I refused to wear na so I rush wear am, then came the unbearable pains na so I off cloth dey waka naked screaming down the hall I was checked and I was 7cm gone to the surprise of the doctor, then came the vomiting and purging of all my jekuje in the labour room, the nurses kept telling me not to shout to reserve my strength for pushing, the mucous plug went off,the doc broke the water by himself at that point I was basically unconscious all I remember was shouting I want C.S, I want C.S and the doctor laughing at me, then I started shouting I want to poo, I was told to hold my ankles and push,on the second push my prince popped out crying his lungs out weighing 3.68kg and the pains disappeared, then came the episiotomy the anaesthetic stopped working at a particular point and I could feel every passage of the thread coupled with the fact I had multiple tears. To all TTC women out there you will soon be mothers IJN, may our kids never bring sorrow to us,as for me I will happily do elective C.S if the opportunity arises again abeg the pain has no comparison. *drops pen*,* off to feed my chop chop prince

Yes, occultic power is actually higher with the whites (especially in America) over Africans. America for example started a long time with satanism. Their founders struck a strong covenant with Satan and demons. They even display it on their currency, they further developed the demonic bonds (in quest for power and wealth) by making every other continent follow after them in the worship of Satan, whether consciously or unconsciously.

...Hollywood, their music industry, their political sector, the Catholic Church (don't be offended Catholics but it's true), the entry of other foreign cultural heritage and so on. These are all schemes carefully planned out to enslave people and make them worship after Satan in several ways.

Revelation 17 tells a lot about this.

America is a harlot. A spiritual harlot. The harlot talked about in the book of Revelation chapter 17. She is the center piece to the whole puzzle of the kingdom of darkness. More corrupt and satanic than any other government in this world.

Even though African witchcraft started a long time ago, back to the Egyptian era or maybe way before that, it doesn't have a huge network compared to what the whites have.

African witchcraft is done the way it is done to keep Africa as a poor continent. It is done for poverty and slavery to continue (while the whites witchcraft is done to enslave the whole word consciously or unconsciously). Even though slavery was abolished, slavery still goes on in Africa due to the level of poverty here, which is stongly backed up by witchcraft powers.

That is the reason why someone from your village will start attacking you with witchcraft, just because you managed to travel abroad. Or maybe just because you bought a new car or you built a new house or you just got married etc.. The envy and hatred of witches and wizards is already installed against that person, and the witchcraft powers will do their best to pull that person down.

Everything is strategically done to keep poverty intact in Africa or drive it even further.. The killings in the north, the terrorist bombings and killings that displaced so many people and made them homeless, the corrupt political sector that continuously embezzles the nation's wealth, the limitions and difficulties in foreign trade etc.

Everything. Everything points towards 'Poverty', which enslaves the African people in their minds and even has an effect spiritually. smh.

This is the agenda of the satanic kingdom to keep Africans in poverty and misery.

Even when Africans travel abroad, many are not given good jobs even if they are qualified. They are treated with disrespect and disdain. This is what Satan wants and so he puts all his efforts with his demons to keep it that way.

It is the kingdom of darkness that sponsors poverty in Africa. And the whites/America (those in occultism) have to keep it that way, so they remove any body or president that will lead Africa forward and install a person that will keep Africa in stagnancy.

If Nigeria moves forward, the yoke on Africa will be broken. They know this, so Nigeria becomes a primary target in the eyes of the enemy. Because if the enemy don't hold Nigeria down, many stars will rise up in every parts of the world and God will use them to bring terror to the enemy. What is the thing that is so special about Africa that made the whites force them into slavery, the racism, the fear of an average black person oversea etc.

What is that thing? It is the purpose of God that is predistined upon Africa to be used against the kingdom of darkness.

The enemy knows this that's why he used several people like Hitler to wipe out many Africans.
All the hatred and racism towards Africans have their roots in occultism. They can all be traced to a secret society. E.G. KKK, Iluminati, the Brotherhood etc.

Hmmm..

But I know this, no matter what the agenda of Satan is, all his efforts will be put to shame in Jesus Name. Amen. Isaiah 10:27.

Those that follow after Jesus are hidden in Him, and God will save them all from the hands of the enemy in Jesus Name. AMEN.

God bless you Providence and Nnamdi. Nice contributions smiley

I agree with most part of your article but I beg to disagree with the Catholic aspect because the Bible says by their fruits you shall know them, unless you are not very conversant with the recent happenings in the world especially in America, the Catholic Church has been the number 1 fighting force against abortion with the prolife campaign and divorce with the pro-family whereas churches like Anglican etc preach that homosexuality is not a sin Catholics have maintained their stand that it is sinful, the fact that that they still try to push for the truth despite the many attacks they are under is a proof that the devil does not have it 100% , that not withstanding the devil actually has control of a good part of the church while the other part is trying to resist it,it has been a war for centuries and my prayer for them is that the gate of hell will not prevail,I also pray for the Anglicans and some Pentecostals in America that are under the total control of the devil to overcome his ways,as for us in Nigeria do not be deceived for the smoke of Satan has crept into our churches with materialism (mammon) ,we need to continuously pray for the church to overcome his tactics

As for oranges, I take sour ones very well o because I love sour things now and it reduces constipation, it doesn't purge me like pineapple, I just go normally and I haven't experienced any problem at all but you can limit it to once a day as WhyworryPh advised, body differs.
Have a healthy and stress-free pregnancy journey dear.

Welcome teamie. Both fruits are not advised in pregnancy especially if you yet to understand how your body works.
Actually, pineapple helps in dilating the cervix which could lead to miscarriage in early pregnancy. That's why some mothers in their last weeks of pregnancy are encouraged to take it to help in bringing on labour.

For orange, I read that you shouldn't take more than one a day to meet your daily requirement when pregnant. If your prenatal already has it, then there might be no need for it.
Pawpaw is also among the fruits to avoid in early pregnancy.
In conclusion, body differs. My Co wife ate all fruits and she did not have any issues with her pregnancy and delivery. Another person might toe her footstep and get a different result.
As a FTM, you might want to only eat these fruits in little portion.
Do provide us with your EDD so as to be added to the team list.

now I'm confused, I'm a pineapple freak, I do buy full ones from my aboki like twice a week and eat alone; D then other days I buy chopped ones of 50-100 naira, I guess I will reduce it and switch to banana and cucumber, thanks.

1. Never ever fight with a pig. They will trample you in the mud and get you soiled over and over. Even if you win, they will still think they have won because victory to them is you stooping down to their level and getting soiled with mud.
2. Nothing anyone says is because of you. Their thinking is simply a reflection of their environment, family and life experience. Once you get that into your head, there is nothing anyone will tell you that will get to you.

Religion / Re: Parable Of The Rich Man And Lazarus: What Was The Sin Of The Rich Man? by irynterri(f): 10:14pm On Jan 07, 2018
Votukpa:

A parable is a FICTITIOUS NARRATIVE meant to convey spiritual truths.

All Christ's parable were fictitious narratives in that they were not historically true. He was conveying spiritual knowledge meant for those with ears to hear and with eyes to see. In other words spiritual understanding.

There was never a real Lazarus, nor a real rich man. If Christ is the only one to have risen from the dead then Abraham's bosom should be a symbol for some higher spiritual item and not his actual bosom.

If u check for the meaning of name Lazarus, i think the understanding will begin to come to you.

The parable is about the KINGDOM of GOD and how it will be. All the parables are about the Kingdom of God and how things will be.

The rich man represents the house of Israel or favorites of God. God blessed them with his laws and presence. He made them spiritually royal (delicious living and purple raiment)
Lazarus (meaning needing help) represents the gentiles. God did not bless them with royalty. They didn't have his presence and blessings. They were spiritual poor and destitute, hence needing help. Spiritual neediness was their food.

Their deaths represent the end of the age.
Abraham represent the elect of God or the remnant of Israel chosen for the first resurrection (Revelations 14 and 20)
His bosom represents rest.
Abraham's bosom represents the resurrection of life of the elect.
The torment represent the resurrection of judgement
(Read John 5: 28 and 29; Daniel 12:4)

Rich man (Isreal gets judgement for rejecting Christ)
Lazarus (God blesses Lazarus for NEEDING GOD SPIRITUAL HELP or salvation) along with his elect.
Hence Lazarus resting on Abraham's bosom.

The brothers represent unbelievers who will reject Christ anyway. They would never believe even if Christ himself appeared to them.

The chasm (huge divide) symbolizes the separation of the sheep and the goat at that time. Christ and his army is the Chasm. They will be doing the separating. Note that the rich man was unable to cross over, but could communicate with those on the other side. It will be like this then. Those being judged then will see those enjoying life with the elect and feel terrible and mourn for the Lords presence.

The tip of finger in water for refreshment represent the thirst for the presence of God he once enjoyed in abundance.

May the Spirit of The Most High reveal all his truths to u. Amen.
thanks a whole lot for sharing, now I feel like modifying my post, may God's wisdom continue to flow through you

Insensitivity is not necessarily the absence of love smiley. Lazarus for example slept by his gate and ate the crumbs from his table, the question is, was Lazarus the only one around the rich man and was his going to hell based on just that? I missed something important in my first submission which is "The sin of OMISSION" which borders on what he failed to do not just for Lazarus who was just a template but also to others and from what he said to Abraham about sending Lazarus to his brothers meant they lived in a particular manner not different from the way he lived.
thanks alot, the sin of omission is the best term for it

Emmanystone:

Good sermon, thank you very much. BUT, your sermon seem to dwell on monetary wealth only.

Wealth is not necessarily the cash one has or poverty the lack of it. They are very wealthy people who are not as rich monetarily and they are very wealth men who do not have cash.

In the Kingdom of God, things are not the way they are in the secular world.

If you ask me, i'd say, the Rich man didn't end up in hell or Hades because he didn't feed Lazarus, Yes, he should have, but that was not his only fault. What was his motive for not doing it? Motive is what YHWH will primarily use to judge us. Why did you do it?

I'd say, he didn't do it because of his PRIDE OR HAUGHTINESS.

When you consider yourself better than the next person, then you have a problem with YHWH. If it were just a matter of giving, am sure if a man or woman of his status showed up in his house while at table, he'll insist that the person joins him. But, Pride was his undoing.

The Issue is Pride. His condescending attitude did not allow him consider that Lazarus was human just as he was.

And, Listen, when you stand preaching the Gospel but take a position to condemn another preacher, you invalidate your position. because, you are not called into that ministry by the master. Anyone who stands on others to be seen, will eventually fall.

If you take time to listen to the so called Prosperity preachers, you'd understand that, they try to go beyond 'the life of Jesus' which was offered as a propitiation for us, to the PRINCIPLES OF JESUS which he taught us what to do and how to do it to occupy this earth until his return.

If you decides to end at 'the Life of Jesus' without applying 'the Principles of Jesus', then be okay with that, instead of criticizing those who goes further.

The Rich man didn't go to hell because he was Rich and Lazarus didn't end up in the Bossom of Abraham because he was poor. All of them had attitudes which propelled their actions while alive, and that determined where they both ended.

As much as Jesus said 'The Poor shall not cease in our midst', we as Christians are also enjoined to work with our own hands. The Bible says 'A lazy man should not be given food. He that does no work, shd not eat.

Why was Lazarus poor? Was he sick hence, could not work with his hands or just lazy? I believe in Lazarus's case he was sick, so can be excused. But if not, he had no right to go to the rich man's house to beg.

Bottomline, poverty is not a mark of Holiness, for poverty is a spirit and it is evil. Jesus said, 'Let the poor say i am rich'. Why is that?

Again, Riches or wealth is not a mark of Sin. Anyone who workd hard will be wealthy. A believer or an unbeliever. Sowing and reaping happens to both.

There's no father of faith who was poor and a begger. Is it Abraham, or Jacob? ot Joseph, or who?

Stop preaching a wrong gospel pls.

If we work hard, especially if you are rightly planted and in a good soil, doing what pleases God, He'll prosper you and you'd leave substance for your offspring.

Poverty is sin.

Shalom.

Apina:

Your sermon though wonderful doesn't really tell what the sin of the rich man was smiley. Most persons have argued that he didn't love Lazarus, but I don't believe that was the case, cos he allowed him stay at his gate and eat from his table even though they were leftovers.

For The rich man to have been able to identify Lazarus at the other side simply points to the fact that he knows who Lazarus is, most probably while moving in and out of his mansion could have asked about him when he saw him sitting at his gate. The Bible said he lived in luxury while Lazarus begged and had sores all over, did he ever refuse to help Lazarus? I don't think so cos if that were to be the case, Lazarus would most likely not remain at his gate cos Lazarus would need to eat to survive and would have moved on to another place where he would get food but he remained and even died there. We can actually say the rich man was generous to the beggar cos he allowed him to lay his head within his property and allowed him to feed from his table, eating the same food he ate.

The sin of the rich man wasn't that he didn't love Lazarus but was that "He Was INSENSITIVE to the plight of the beggar". The sin of insensitivity is so faint that it's almost impossible to detect, and it's everywhere, in the church, on your streets and even in the family.

thanks for your wonderful contribution, not loving his neighbor as himself covers the umbrella of insensitivity, although I think your mentioning insensitivity hit the nail on its head. thanks for the correction

SERMON
The parable of the rich man and Lazarus is argued by many to be a true life story, because unlike others a character was named. There are several lessons to be learned from this wonderful story told by Our Lord and they include the following:
1. MATERIAL WEALTH IS NOT ALWAYS A SIGN THAT YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT PATH OF SALVATION : contrary to claims of some prosperity preachers, this story comes to show that you being wealthy does not mean you are on the right path with God. The Pharisees of Jesus' time were money loving people who believed been wealthy was a sign your worship was acceptable to God. Wealth does not only come from God, you can get money from the devil, you can get money from cheating others , you can get from falsifying your scales, but good wealth come from God and more important to him is what you do with it, for to whom more is given, more is expected. Hence, stop envying those around you who are rich without following the way of the Father, for what lies ahead of them you do not Know and might not wish to partake in it, stop questioning God when you see a poor righteous man, for what lies ahead of him is the greatest that can happen to any mortal, remember the earth and its wealth is not our home, we all will leave here one day. BEEN POOR DOES NOT MEAN GOD HATES YOU.

2. THE SIN OF THE RICH MAN
The sin of the rich man was not loving his neighbor like himself. Your neighbor is any one around you, whether rich or poor, male or female, believer or non-believer. Show all love and help all in need. Jesus did not accuse him of not helping anyone at all, he was accused of not helping the Beggar at his gate. So many of us today do the most abominable things to those who we feel are not in our social status around us, look around in churches and you can easily spot who the house girl is in a family, some rich families make their house helps sleep on the bare floor and eat spoilt food. O how vile the fruit we bear are! A tree is known by its fruit, does who produce sweet fruits are good and bad fruits are bad. So ask your yourself what sort of fruit do I produce? Start by using the litmus test of how you treat does who cannot pay you back. Do you throw feasts for your rich friends and ignore your parents need?, do you throw feasts and ignore the plea of a friend in need of a loan?

IS THIS ONLY ABOUT MATERIAL WEALTH?
No, it is whatever you are blessed with. You are blessed with the gift of preaching, you preach far and wide but you do not preach to your children, siblings to change from their sinful ways. In whatever measure you have, give to the poor (those who don't have) for the Good Lord is a friend and lover of the poor.

THE BROTHERS OF THE RICH MAN
these are doubting Thomas. Those who have hardened their hearts and minds against life after death. They see themselves to be intelligent simply because they seem to differ. The live as though they will live forever. They say to themselves, look at all the money I have through my hard work yet this believer who claims his Bible told him he will be given all he asks for is poor. This is the ideology of the Rich man's brothers that is why the rich man requested for a dead man to go back to them because it is only then they would believe. To all who doubt the existence of an after life, we pray to God for their hearts to be open before it is too late.
