PoliticsKaduna Rerun: Isah Rabiu Accuses Deputy Speaker Of Planning To Rig. by isahrabson(op): 11:20pm On Jan 23, 2020
Kaduna rerun: Isah Rabiu accuses deputy speaker of planning to rig, unleash violence.

January 23, 2020

Comr Isah Rabiu on Thursday, raised the alarm over alleged plot by the All Progressives

Congress, APC, to unleash violence and rig the rerun election in sanga and kagarko Local Government of Kaduna State slated for Saturday 25th,2020

Isah alleged that a serving deputy speaker and Hon.salisu D bala, member representing Igabi east in Kaduna state house of assembly have mobilised armed thugs to sanga and kagarlo had compromised the commissioner of Police, deployed to oversee the election.

In a statement Isah alleged that the commissioner of police would deploy policemen who would be used to rig the election just like during Dr matoh dogara formal deputy speaker rerun in lere LG East.

the deputy speaker (APC) was plotting to also redeploy the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Residence Electoral Commissioner from Kaduna state.

The statement reads: “We already have intelligence on how a deputy speaker on governor elrufai cabinet has allegedly compromised a commissioner of Police to deploy policemen to invade the two local government, unleash unbridle violence and manipulate the electoral process in favour of the APC.

“As part of the strategy, the commissioner of police reportedly promised to deploy a more senior police officers than the one in lere local government to take charge of the command of policemen posted for the election in the local government area and that when senior police officers comes even the State Police Commissioner will be under his command.

“The plot, which is being heavily funded by the deputy speaker, also seeks to transfer the State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), and replace him with a pliable and already compromised official.

“I invites Kaduna and Nigerians to note the desperation of the deputy speaker to throw Kaduna State into a needless crisis because he has realized that the people at the grassroot have rejected the APC and that there is no way the APC can win in any free, fair and credible election.

“We are concerned about the plot to deploy huge number of policemen into a local government and put them under the control of such an officer as a commissioner is extremely suspect, as past experiences across the state had shown that such deployments to violent confrontations, killings, maiming and massive intimidations of voters that only aid election riggers and other anti democratic forces to compromise electoral processes.

“I am worried because there is no way the people of sanga and kagarko Local Government as well as Kaduna State in general, will sit by, fold their hands and watch compromised security agents invading their communities to rig elections for any desperate politician, without a corresponding resistance.

“Any attempt by the APC to invade the local government to rig this election will indeed attract dire consequences.”

I also called on the commissioner of Police,Kaduna state, to avert an imminent crisis by immediately reining in his DIG from going ahead with this ignoble mission as the police will be held responsible for any death or mayhem arising from this re-run election in kaduna
State.
PoliticsPDP Emerged As Clear Winners But The Dictorship Was Not -col Gora by isahrabson(op): 11:15pm On Jan 22, 2020
THE CLEAREST OF MESSAGES FROM SANGA AND KAGARKO-Col Gora Albehu

The re-run elections for the Sanga and Kagarko House of Assembly seats is scheduled to take place on Saturday 25 January 2020. The re-run has become necessary in the light of the manipulative tendencies of the dictatorship wrecking havoc in the name of governance in Kaduna State.

When the elections were held initially it was clear that the candidates of the PDP emerged as clear winners but the dictatorship was not and has not been comfortable with this victory particularly that of Sanga for obvious reasons and sought to reverse the outcome by way of either the election petition tribunals or courts. The re-run in Sanga will take place in 14 polling units.

There are a number of reasons pointing to the fact that there is virtually nothing that the dictatorship along with their co-conspirators can do to reverse the will of the electorate in Sanga and Kagarko. Both candidates have a history of performance behind them. In Sanga for example you will be a chronic lair to attempt to obscure the achievements of Hon Comfort Amwe.

She is not a novice in the business of leading her people. She has political pedigree speaking for her. Her people love her which is why she is simply identified and called '' Mama Sanga ''.

If you are seeking to get to Hon Comfort Amwe in Sanga, please save yourself the problem, just ask for Mama Sanga and even a toddler will direct you to where this astute heroine may be found. Remove Mama Sanga from the political equation in Sanga and you are left with scorched political landscape.

All the characters and political opponent who have thrown themselves up against this formidable heroine know that there is nothing they can do against her which is why they are relaying heavily on elements from the dictatorship to subvert the will of the electorate. If there is anything that Sanga can boast of today as dividends of democracy in, these accrued on account of the exemplary leadership of Hon Comfort Amwe.

Hon Comfort Amwe if eventually she wins the re-run will be the only female legislator not only in Kaduna but the whole of the political North West. This is the more reason she is the candidate to beat come Saturday 25 January.

At a political campaign rally heid in Sanga and precisely Gwantu and Fadan Karshi towns yesterday 22 January 2020, this heroine had difficulties accessing the venue due to the mammoth crowed of mostly women who obviously constitute over 70% percent if the eligible voters, youths, the elderly and even some of the disabled. Hon Comfort Ambi did not get to the venue in a black tinted high profile jeep as has become the vogue, no, she walked there followed by the huge crowd as she got near, she was carried in the shoulders of young men and women to the venue and before the dignitaries not limited to Distinguished Senator Danjuna Laah representing the zone and the grand master of politics in the while of the North Suleiman Hunkuyi.

It took the pleading of Sen Hunku before the youths let Hon Comfort Ambi's feet to touch the sacred grounds of the venue.

While this drama was unfolding, you could count the number of people struggling with tears, this situation became worse she eventually Hon Comfort Ambi was handed the mic to address her people and guest alike.. Those who had the privilege of speaking spoke in glowing terms as to the character, political pedigree and capacity of Hon Comfort Ambi. The electorate in Sanga assured Hon Ambi that SECOM, INEC or any other body including ECOWAS, the African Union or United Nations can conduct the election re-run 10 times over, that they will vote Hon Comfort Ambi 10 times over.

They have therefore organized themselves in such a strategic manner as to ensure that the re-run elections will be peaceful, orderly and without any intimidation or violence. The efforts of the security agents will therefore only be complimentary.

There is a very clear warning though, it is directed to elements from the dictatorship who may be nursing the idea to once more manipulating the re-run elections in favour if their anointed candidate '' Please in your own interest do not come to either Sanga and by extension Kagarko '' because you will end up wishing you did not go. Suffice it to say here that election outcomes are usually rigged because certain measures are not put in place by the voters themselves.

In the light of this therefore, the electorate will not only vote, they will remain at the polling unites until voting is over, the counting completed, then they will escort the outcome to the collation centers and will remain until declaration. This is akin to what our youths describe as '' bumper to bumper ''.

The obvious truth that agents of the dictatorship will bring bags and bags of money because they have so much of it which they cannit deploy for developmental projects and try to buy votes or get the outcome fixed, the electorate were advised to silently collect such monies but vote for their preferred candudates after all, it is their money.

The situation was not any different at Kubacha in Kagarko local government area where the re-run will take place in 22 polling units.

The same script as in Sanga played out in Kagarko. The strategies and resolve the same.

The dictatorship must know that both local councils have traditionally been strongholds of the PDP.

Elections could easily be rigged in other areas as happened in the 2019 general elections in most areas of Zone One and some in Zone Two but this will not happen in Zone Three as the electorate and people are literate enough to know what democracy means and how it is supposed to operate.

The warning meant for enemies of democracy nursing the dangerous idea of going to either Sanga or Kagarko to influence negatively the outcome of the re-run election of 25 January or any other future elections in the future in Southern Kaduna must retreat from such hazardous undertaking.

Finally, we challenge the dictatorship to as a matter of urgency organize elections in Kaura, Chukun and Kajuru local councils. So long.

Imo Supreme Court ruling: Kaduna PDP mourns, fears for 4 states

Jan 19, 2020

Following the declaration of Senator Hope Uzodinma as the substantive governor of Imo State under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) by the Supreme Court, the Kaduna State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has mourned the ruling, saying it was a stolen mandate by APC.

This was even as the PDP also expressed fears over Supreme Court judgement slated for Monday over governorship elections of four states of Sokoto Bauchi, Benue and Kano.

SmThe Supreme Court judgement ousted ex-Governor Emeka Ihedioha of the PDP, having served for eight months after the 2019 general elections that brought him to power.

Addressing the press on Sunday at the PDP Secretariat, the State Chairman, Hassan Hyet said it was a shame that after four years in office, the ruling party lacked proficiency to endear itself to majority of Nigerians, instead of resorting to obtaining victory in court.

“PDP feels shortchanged by the judgment of the Supreme Court and we are of the firm belief that the APC government is determined to get in the courts what they failed to get through the electoral process.

“We are aware that Sokoto, Bauchi, Benue and Kano are in the offing. Our party will not sit by idly and watch while electoral victories are snatched away from us through judicial pronouncements that are more of executive orders.

“Our position, however, is to stand in solidarity with the Imo people, the PDP, INEC’s decision calling on the Supreme Court to correct it’s errors and reverse itself in view of the monumental injustice done to the good people of Imo State and the denial of a mandate freely given to the PDP by them.

“We take solace in the famous statement by Chikwudifu Oputa, JSC, that, ‘we are final not because we are infallible, rather we are infallible because we are final’. We believe that it is not too late to serve justice to the Imo people and the PDP,” Hyet stated.

Leadership reports that Makarfi, who stated this when members of the Kaduna state PDP Like Minds paid him a courtesy visit in Kaduna, emphasised the need for PDP leaders to give youths more opportunity to contribute their quota in resuscitating the party and eventual taking over of the leadership as they plan towards subsequent elections.

The chairman of the group, Alhaji Ibrahim Dan’inna, explained that the group was formed as a result of political development in the state.

Dan’inna commended the party leader for the role he played to increase the party performance in the last general elections, relative to what was obtainable in 2015 which is evident in the quantum of votes the party garnered in the last general elections.

He said: “The group has set up a committee to look into what transpired before, during and after the 2019 general election leading to electoral robbery of our mandates that was freely given by the electorate in the state.”

2023:I Do not need any Maria Dogo to know me before playing a role politically-Col Gora(PDP)

January 11,2020

Hon Maria Dogo, my names are Gora Albehu Dauda. I am a retired Colonel of the Nigerian Army and a denizen of Ungwan Boro since my returning home from serving this nation on retiring. Do quickly recall the events at the PDP State Secretariat and the nasty comment you made with regard to your not knowing me in the politics of the PDP in Chukun LGA.

If Hon Maria Dogo must know, I do not play politics at the level of the local council I do at a much higher level.

If Maria Dogo must know, I was the campaign coordinator for Muhammed Buhari in the Southern Senatorial District in the 2015 general elections. Had you cared to do a background check on who Colonel Gora Albehu Dauda is, you would not have exposed your seeming ignorance before such an audience.

The Distinguished Senator was clear enough for even a pedestrian to comprehend when he said that quality individuals were required to reposition the PDP preparatory to 2023 devoid of cheap sentiments. When the mic was handed to you, I did hope you were going to make a reasonable and informed contribution and or observation before you proceeded to spew utter garbage to your own shame and disgrace.

Where if I dare ask was Hon Maria Dogo when the El Ruffy dictatorship imported and imposed Hajia Hadixa as Sole Administrator of Chukun LGA? Very clearly, you are a spent force politically in not only the politics of Chukun but also that of Kaduna State.

Where was this Hon Maria Dogo when during the campaigning for the 2019 general elections we, in company of Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi visited both Chukun and Kajuru?

If you must, do find out if the PDP Chairman in Chukun as well as the Sabon Tasha Ward do not know who Colonel Gora Albehu Dauda is. It is people with your warped way of thinking that have brought the PDP to this sorry state.

I do not need any Maria Dogo to know me before playing a role politically in either Chukun or elsewhere.

As a personal principle, I do not consider it a worthwhile undertaking doing battle with a woman such as Maria Dogo so if you excuse me, that will be fantastic.

Wike, Oshiomhole clash at Abuja book launch

DECEMBER 10, 2019

The River state governor, Nyesom Wike and All progressives Congress, APC, national chairman, Tuesday traded blames on the concept of leadership by example.

The two leaders were at each other’s throat at the official presentation of “The Big Interviews,” a book authored by the immediate past Managing Director of the Sun Publishing Limited, Mr. Eric Osagie.

The event which had in attendance journalism finest hands including publisher of the Vanguard Newspaper, Mr. Sam Amuka, business mogul, Isa Funtua among others started in earnest when Oshiomhole was called to make a few remarks before the unveiling of the compendium.

In his characteristic manner, Oshiomhole drew applause from the crowd with his delivery, as he called on media practitioners to be more courageous particularly when taking on men in power. Citing an instance when a foreign journalist once took on an unnamed Nigerian President a few years ago on the scourge of population control, Oshiomhole said the ex-President was wrong to have spoken on the subject matter when Nigerians were yet to be told the number of his children and wives.

“How could he speak on population control when Nigerians didn’t even know the number of his wives, both registered and unregistered? Nigerians didn’t know the number of his children and I think leaders should learn to practice what they preach,” Oshiomhole stated.

Although his Peoples Democratic Party, PDP counterpart, Prince Uche Secondus managed to fire a few salvos in response, it was Wike who brought the capacity-filled Atiku Abubakar Auditorium, Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, venue of the book launch, down with laughter and excitement.

“Let me begin from where the APC national chairman stopped,” he began, in his trademark voice. “Where are some of you who did Occupy Nigeria? Do you still write and speak the way you used to do? Who are those now sponsoring all manner of bills against free speech?” he asked as Oshiomhole and his predecessor, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun reeled in laughter.

Continuing, Wike chided the APC chair for what he called a deliberate ploy to mislead Nigerians into thinking that he still wears the khaki of old when he was a labour leader, saying “the kind of safari he wears now are different.

Kogi 2019: 156 APC supporters in Kabba/Bunu LGA decamp to PDP, burn broom

In what appears as huge gain for the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State happened in Kabba/Bunu local government on Sunday when two of the stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Alfred Dare Alaska and Mr. Amupitan in olle/oke-offin ward defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the state along with hundreds of their supporters ahead of November 16 governorship election.

The former members of the APC, said the defection was due to the poor roads network, unpaid salaries, insecurity and insensitivity on the plight of the people by the government.

According to Mr Alfred Dare, he said “Governor Yahaya Bello’s government is the worst government in the history of kogi state.”

“The APC government in kogi state is not fair to my people and we can no longer remain in such party”

“So, that compelled me to move out from the party with my supporters”. he said.

The defectors were received into the party by Hon Alfred Bello PDP state treasurer and Hon JJ Abejirin kabba/ Bunu party chairman

Speaking, the local government chairman of the PDP, Hon JJ Abejirin, expressed satisfaction over the defection.

The defectors were assured that they would be carried along in the scheme of things, and that they are important to the PDP at this moment of campaigns.

You can’t bury PDP in kogi, campaign council replies El rufai

.... Warns him to mind his language

PDP Campaign Council has reacted to Friday outburst of the Kaduna state governor, El Rufai where he was quoted to have said he was coming to bury the people’s Democratic Party in Kogi state, ahead of next month’s governorship election

The PDP in a swift reaction advised the governor who is the leader of APC campaign council, to guide his “reckless and unguarded statements as it is only tenable in his Kaduna state , where anything goes without resistance”

The spoke man of the council, Austin Okai said “ We can now see why Kaduna state has been turned into the center of crime and abnormalities, the state that enjoyed peace under the reign of Markafi and Sambo has being turned into Kidnapping den and centre of religion and ethnic pogrom”

The campaign council also reminded Elrufai why he was banned from entering United States of America due to his undemocratic conduct and reckless utterances stressing ” in Kogi state we don’t celebrate burial or carrying of coffin, just as his body bag utterances against international observers, we wish to remind El Rufai that Kogi state will not tolerate any careless conduct from outside or within the state as the citizens have resolved to vote and defend their votes on 16 November”

The party said it is only when something is dead that burial can take place saying the PDP was much alive in Kogi and prepared to wrestle power from the ruling party stating that it was indeed APC that was dead and waiting for burial.

PDP said it is not unaware of the El-rufai’s rigging strategy that foisted him on the people of Kaduna state which he intends to use Kogi with the combined use of force and armed thugs to instill fear on the people of the state to give APC a leeway to rig the forthcoming election

According to PDP, even though Kaduna state governor won the last election through all means possible, he is still been challenged in court because of of the obvious lapses and flaws that characterised the governorship election

” We intend to teach you a bitter lesson in Kogi by November election, considering the fact that your candidate in APC,Yahaya Bello is not sellable, moreover he could not account for billions of naira accrued to the state in the last three and half years

“A governor whose mandate is been challenged in court you have no moral right to influence the political decision of kogites in the next election, so implore him to mind his business” the statement added.

Fight for good governance, not money, Makarfi tells Labour

October 14, 2019

A former governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, has asked organised labour in the country to always hold government accountable rather than fighting for “money, money.”

Makarfi gave the advice in an interview with journalists during the 36th Plenary/AGM of the Unity Schools Old Students Association which held at the Federal Government College, Kaduna on Saturday

He said, “I had challenged, even before I became a governor, Labour leaders I knew that if they talked of money, money, money, they would end up with money that was not going to be useful.

“Rather, hold government accountable. Demand for good governance, demand for infrastructure, demand for security, demand for a lot of things that are expected from government, a living wage which will be minimal.

“But if you are always asking for money, somebody gives you N10 and takes away N30 for example, how do you benefit?

Makafi, who is a member of the association, added, “When you hear of wage increase in serious economies, it is by 1, 2, 2.3 per cent because it is not about the money; it is about what the government should provide. But here in Nigeria, we have freed government from providing those things and said no, give me, I can provide for myself when it is not possible.”

The Minister of Water Resources, Adamu Suleiman, who is also a member of the association, lauded the nation’s founding leaders for establishing the 104 unity schools across the country.

He said, “There is no state that I go to in this country that I don’t see my classmates that will host me and be ready to give me his bedroom to sleep. We are very happy with the concept.

says APC seeks to divert attention from the corruption in Buhari’s Presidency

Secondus and Oshiomhole
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s unwarranted invective on former President Goodluck Jonathan was misdirected as it best suits President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC administration, which “has gone down as the most incompetent and most corrupt” in the history of the nation.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja, the Party stated that the distortions and groundless attack on President Jonathan were a desperate tactic by the APC and the Buhari Presidency to divert public attention from the recent shocking corruption and fraud revelations in which close relatives and confidants of Mr President were mentioned.

According to statement: “The PDP has been made aware of how the Presidency has been in a frenzy to suppress investigations and deflect public enquiries from the arrest of President Buhari’s known confidant deported from the United Kingdom for alleged international passport scam and money laundering, as it knows that an inquest will further expose the huge rot in the Buhari Presidency.

“Our party has equally been made aware of how the APC and the Buhari Presidency have been desperate to divert public attention from the administration’s obnoxious decision to further oppress Nigerians by reintroducing tollgates on our highway, increasing Value Added Tax (VAT), electricity bill and other tariffs as well as their despicable plot to sack government workers.”

The Party charged the APC and the Buhari Presidency “to perish the idea of thinking that these unnecessary distortions on the Jonathan administration would bury the demand for an inquest into the Danu racket through which billions of naira meant for the wellbeing of Nigerians are allegedly being diverted to private purses.”

The Party further “invites Nigerians to note how the APC had remained silent since revelations that its key leaders and the cabal at the Presidency are involved in the stealing of over N14 trillion meant for the wellbeing of Nigerians.”

According to it: “our party further challenges the APC and the Buhari Presidency to speak out on the alleged diversion of the N500bn meant for the Social Investment Programme among other humongous fraud directly perpetrated under the Buhari Presidency.

“Furthermore, in trying to tar the PDP, the APC forgets that it is already common knowledge that all the bad eggs that brought a bad name to the PDP have since left our repositioned party to the APC where their National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, who also has a huge corruption allegation on his neck, admitted that the party is a haven for corrupt persons.

“Moreover, the fact that President Buhari can only surround himself with persons openly indicted for corruption, as ministers and advisers, speaks volume of the administration’s posturing on corruption.”

It, therefore, charged the APC not to think that it could cover its mess by trying to make unfounded allegations against former President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP as Nigerians could now see through their shenanigans.

We Told PDP About Sambo Being A Potential Sellout, They Didn't Listen -Dr Danfulani

- October 01, 2019

Namadi Sambo may be have dumped the party that made him governor and vice president...

-Commentators in the state have repeatedly said that Namadi isn't truly a loyal party man and even believed to have played a role in the defeat of his party.

Kaduna based political scientist and analyst, Dr. John Danfulani reacts to the contemporary political romance between former vice president Namadi Sambo and Governor Nasir Elrufai.

Following a social post by a group in Kaduna state known as @YouthForPDP, "The Former Vice President turns Elrufai's regular visitor in govt house, praising him as the best governor ever in kaduna.

All his key soldiers in Kaduna left for the ruling party before and after elections."

According to Dr. Danfulani, "We told Wadata plaza, leadership of the PDP about Namadi Sambo and how he can be a possible sellout during the build up to 2019 polls, they refused!

"The PDP saw what happened, how the party lost Kaduna at the gubernatorial polls and what is happening now.

It is indeed Sad" Dr. Danfulani added.

Stop The Falsehood; Zaria Water Project Initially Conceived By Makarfi And Not Namadi -Former Kaduna Finance Commissioner

-Dr. John Ayuba reacts to the Namadi Sambo and Elrufai's politics behind the zaria water project as "falsehood"

Former commissioner of finance and later water resources in Kaduna state reacts the recent political credits praise and recognition exchanged by former governor and vice president Namadi Sambo and Governor Nasir Elrufai as fiction.

According to the former finance commissioner, "how could the Zaria water project have been completed without the Galma dam being constructed by the Federal Ministry of Water resources?

As a former Commissioner of Water Resources I know that the Galma Dam is the main source of water supply!

If it is the Water treatment plant that has been completed, I will not be surprised because when I left in September 2013, the treatment plant was already 85% completed.

I know that further work was done on it in the last two years that Ramalan Yero was governor."

"Further, It will also be nice to know if the pipe network to cover the remaining 5 LGs ( apart from Zaria and Sabon Gari LGs) has been awarded!!!

So when we talk of the project having been completed, I am not too sure it is as conceived by Namadi.

I am sure the government is talking of Zaria town and its immediate environs like Sabon Gari and parts of Samaru whose contracts were awarded when I was Commissioner of Finance and Chairman of the Tenders Board under the Yakowa administration."

"There is need to put the records straight to avoid appropriating or discounting other people's efforts.

The narrative that the project was abandoned after Namadi left to be VP is not only mischievous but blantant falsehood.

"As Commissioner of Finance under Yakowa, I along with other relevant commissioners defended and got the approval of the National Assembly the proposal for the loans from ADB and the Islamic Dev Bank which financed the project.

Makarfi was then Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and he chaired the joint committee of the Senate and House of Reps committees that approved it.

Indeed his role is getting the approval of the National Assembly can not be underestimated ! The records are there for anyone to access.

"Let the truth be told, the initial project was conceived by Makarfi and it was to cover only Zaria and Sabon Gari LGs. Namadi's Company was one of the Contractors but when he became Governor, he discontinued the job to avoid conflict of interest and that is how the job got awarded to the present contractor.

As Governor, Namadi now expanded the scope of the project to cover the additional 5 contiguous LGs making it a Regional water scheme.

"It will be good to distinguish the completion of the project as initially conceived by Makarfi and the completion of the expanded scheme as conceived by Namadi!

"I suspect the one the present government has been hyping is the earlier not the latter! For the the latter to be achieved, the Galma Dam has to be completed by the Fed Govt and the distribution network in the additional 5 LGs has to also be completed.

"I am sure the people of Giwa, Kudan, Makarfi and two more LGs are not happy when they hear that the project has been completed and they can't see water.." Dr. Ayuba Added.

Direct All Public Officials To Enroll Their Kids In Public Schools, Dogara Tasks Elrufai

To prove that the adminstration is genuinely in for this, Gov. Elrufai should direct members of his executive, appointee’s and in fact, all public officials to also enroll their kids in public schools…
It is not new to the residents and indigenes of Kaduna state how we are blessed with a visionary leader, a man who does what he promises to do at all cost.

Governor Nasir Elrufai has proven beyond reasonable doubt to be a fearless personality and above all the magic wand who is excellent at changing the narrative in delivery of governance.

It is also not new that he master in making headlines; controversial or not, for the wrong reasons or the right… Every publicity is good publicity particularly for an ambitious Sitting governor. Right?

Waking up to pictures flooded online on how mallam succeded in fulfilling one of his campaign Promises is commendable with regards to the fact that he has done what he said he would do… But, how genuine is this new mindset to governance or is it just another way to gain political credits?

It will not be out of place to say that many do not believe he genuinely enrolled his boy in a public school he just rehabilitated with a huge sum of about 200million naira considering the fact that there are more public schools in need of such treatments as well.

Ordinarily, this is what we all have been hoping for, to have the elites and particularly public office holders take the lead by sending their kids to public schools, so maybe they have an idea of how the children of the masses are being thought in the contemporary educational system we have today by government, also to have children of the elites mingle and interact with that of the ordinary citizens.

Nevertheless, it will be deeply appreciated if the governor directs all his members of executive, appointees and public officials in Kaduna state to follow his lead by sending their kids to public schools as well, else, it doesn’t really aim at the bigger picture of the administrations determination to revamp the educational system of the state.

In conclusion, the idea of fixing our educational system as the governor would put it… must be an idea of genuinely giving every child in Kaduna state access to free education.

In the process of reconstructing the system, all sides and all divides must equally feel the dividends with transparency and fairness.

Let kaduna state and its people feel the genuineness of this adminstration as we make Kaduna great again.

God bless Kaduna State!

Xenophobia: NIPR condemns attacks on Nigerians in South Africa

SEPTEMBER 5, 201

…Cautions against reprisal

Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, Thursday, condemned the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other nationals in South Africa, describing it as unjustifiable, callous and a betrayal of the spirit of oneness of Africa.

Xenophobia
Addressing newsmen in Abuja, President and Chairman of the Governing Council of the NIPR, Alhaji Mukhtar Sirajo, lamented the fact that the attack is coming from a people for whom, and by whom the entire continent stood for, not very long ago, at their hour of need.

Sirajo further described xenophobia as a crime against, especially as it runs contrary to the universal values of sanctity of human life, freedom of movement, mutual respect, open engagement, communication and effective relationship management.

He sends the condolences of the NIPR to families of the victims of the xenophobic attacks, while he advised Nigerians living abroad to continue to pursue their undertakings in lawful manners and remain good ambassadors to everyone.

He commended the Federal Government for the measures it has taken so far in that regard, while he called on the government to step up its response to the menace.

“Those few involved in dubious activities must desist from such criminal tendencies that could further dent the image of the nation and bring grief to their families when they are caught,” he noted.

The NIPR boss also appealed to the South African authorities to be more forthcoming in the handling of the issue by getting on top of the issue, apprehending and meting out appropriate sanctions against those found guilty to serve as a deterrent to others.

He said, “The NIPR is worried, like all Nigerians and other right thinking people across the world, at these recurring attacks being perpetrated against Nigerians and other nationals of other African countries in South African.

“These recurring attacks, which have claimed many lives and destroyed valuable properties, are now sadly being met with many reprisals in other African countries including Nigeria. Xenophobia is a menace our world must find solution to or it will become the albatross of our age.”

Sirajo noted that there was a strong nexus between xenophobia and racism, especially as both of them feed upon hate, prejudice and crass violation of the victims’ fundamental human rights.

He, however, cautioned against reprisals, as he noted that in addressing the situation, Nigerians must be encouraged not to fall victims of the mistakes of some misguided individuals in South Africa.

He said, “The NIPR lends its voice to other voices of reasons and moderation to appeal to Nigerians and all our brothers and sisters across Africa to halt the descent into the gutter of criminality and savagery, as we need to show that we are better than those perpetrating those crimes.

“We must also realize that Nigeria and South Africa are the two African economic giants whose stability and mutual understanding mean a lot to the peace and security of Africa. Whatever challenges that go beyond the control of our two governments might likely lead to unimaginable consequences for the African continent.”

El-Rufai has been reduced from dwarf to leper; abandoned by Buhari – Senator Sani fire back at elrufai.

Immediate past senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has described the governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai as a leper, who has been abandoned by friends.

Senator Sani said the governor’s height has been reduced from “dwarf” to a leper and has also been abandoned by President Muhammad Buhari and his men.

The former lawmaker was apparently reacting to a comment credited to governor El-Rufai on Thursday, where he averred that Senator Sani had been reduced to a mere “blogger” since his defeat by his opponent in the last general elections.

in a report, quoted El-Rufai as saying, “We have kicked out Shehu Sani, who has now become a blogger and Uthman Hunkuyi who has now relocated to China with his family for not giving the people of Kaduna State the opportunity of getting the loan that will help in improving the lots of Kaduna people.”

But Sani, in a statement Thursday evening, lambasted the governor, saying he was focusing on his presidential ambition while kidnappers had taken over his state.

He said, “I’m pleased to have reduced the height of El-Rufai from a dwarf to a leper who was rejected by the Governors forum.

“Mr El-Rufai, I’m not responsible for removing your name from the entourage of those who traveled to Japan with Mr President after wasting your three days in Abuja. Eat Yahuza Suya, since you missed the Sushi.

“El-Rufai is more focused on his presidential ambition, while his state is under the siege of Kidnappers”.

The former lawmaker advised governor El-Rufai to face the President’s men who threw away his list of ministers and also threw out his luggage from Japan trip.

“He is still obsessed with the World Bank Loans and using it as an excuse to justify his incompetence, while his counterparts in other states are busy commissioning and executing projects.

“Since you are still angry for not getting the loan, i can help you with some high heels shoes to increase your height,” said Sani in the statement.

El-Rufai vs Ashiru: Tribunal ends sitting, reserves ruling

AUGUST 19, 2019

The Kaduna State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has adjourned sitting on Monday after counsel adopted their final written addresses and replies to points of law. Justice Ibrahim M. Bako, Chairman of the three-member Tribunal, said that a date would be reserved for judgement and all parties will be notified through their counsel.

Recalled that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its Governorship candidate, Alhaji Isah Ashiru had petitioned the March 9 poll in which Gov. Nasiru El-Rufai was returned as duly elected by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Petitioners in their final written address on Monday, asked the Tribunal to cancel a total 515, 951 votes which it contended were unlawfully added to the total votes cast during the March 9 poll. 2019 Poll:

The petitioners had called 135 witnesses out of the 685 they assembled to prove massive rigging, ballot stuffing and other irregularities during the poll as contained in their petition.

The petitioners alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had added 391,741 votes to Nasiru El-Rufai of APC and a total of 124, 210 unlawful votes to the PDP through wrong or double entry on the result sheets.

The PDP and its candidate also contended that declaring El-Rufai winner by INEC was illegal as he did not score majority of lawful votes.

The PDP through its legal team led Emmanuel C. Ukala (SAN), said deducting 391,741 votes from 1,045,427 scored by El-Rufai and 124,210 from Ashiru’s 814, 168 votes will give victory to PDP and Ashiru, its candidate in the poll.

The counsel further argued that after the deduction of the alleged unlawful votes, Ashiru will be left with 689,958 lawful votes, while El-Rufai will have 653,686 votes.

In his submission, Ukala argued that all parties to the petition are bound to argue their cases on the basis of whether or not the petitioners had assembled credible evidence to sustain their petition, as formulated by the tribunal. According to him, “only the 2nd respondent premised his argument on the issues formulated by this honorable tribunal. The 1st and 3rd respondents went on their own forays.

“It is therefore our submission that the argument of the 1st and 3rd respondents should go to ‘no issue’, having not addressed the issue which was binding to all parties, “ Ukala argued.

The petitioners counsel further said that based on the issues formulated by the tribunal, the issue has been narrowed down to the credibility of evidence.

“Based on this simplification of the issue, it is our humble submission that when the evidence led by both sides are placed on the imaginary scales of justice, what is obvious is that the weight of evidence of the petitioners will overwhelmingly weigh in favor of the petitioners as against the respondents, “ he said.

“First, the petitioners called 135 witnesses.

All respondents put together, 1st, 2nd and 3rd respondents, called a total of five witnesses. “What is obvious is that there were so many areas covered by the petitioners that were not addressed by the respondents.“

Ukala further pointed out that the quality of the petitioners’ evidence was more qualitative than that of the respondents with polling unit agents who actually saw what happened on the election day and testified.

However, in its final written address and reply to points raised by the petitioners, Counsel to APC, Ibrahim Bawa (SAN) said:

“our final written address before the tribunal is that the petitioners have not been able to establish their claim before the court. “There are certain allegations that were made which were criminal.

“The petitioners also complain that certain votes were illegally recorded for the 2nd and 3rd respondents, but unfortunately no evidence were made to prove those points.

“So, we urge the Tribunal to dismiss the petition as the petitioners have failed to live up to the standard expected of them in proving their petition.”

Similarly, Abdulhakeem Mustapha, counsel to El-Rufai, the 2nd respondent in the petition, asked the tribunal “to invoke its majestic powers to dismiss the petition as lacking in merit and to confirm that the 2nd respondent, Malam Nasiru El Rufai as duly elected as governor of Kaduna State on the March 9 election.

“ Mustapha in an interview with newsmen also said: “we have been able to tell the court that all the witnesses called by the petitioners failed woefully to prove the ingredient of the fact relied upon in their petition.

“The onus is on the petitioners to come with credible evidence and all the testimonies of the witnesses produced by the petitioners were demolished under cross examination.

“ There is nothing that the court will see to be persuaded to give judgment in their favor, we have been able to show with the witnesses we called that the election was conducted in conformity with the provision of the electoral Act.

“We are very satisfied with the proceedings and we are very sure that justice will be done and sure that Malam Nasiru El-Rufai was duly elected by the people of Kaduna State.

“On behalf of the 2nd respondent, the final written address which was dated 2nd August, was filed on 3rd August, 2019, while the 2nd respondent filed a reply on fact of law on August 16,” Mustapha said.

Meanwhile, Counsel to the 1st respondent, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Aliyu Umar (SAN) urged the tribunal to “dismiss the petition and confirm El Rufai as duly elected Governor of Kaduna State.“

Umar drew the attention of the tribunal to the fact that the petitioners had just served him with a list of additional authorities on the day of sitting.

He also told newsmen shortly after the sitting that: “We told the tribunal to take witnesses of the petitioners one by one and urged the tribunal to hold that their evidence was different from what they alleged in their petition. “And their witnesses have all confirmed during cross examination that no INEC officials connived with any other person.

“The petitioners only called 135 of the 685 witnesses the petitioners said they would call, that is short of the number they were supposed to call to prove their case.

“They are to win their case by the evidence presented not by our witnesses,“Umar said.

At the end of the sitting, Justice Bako, thanked counsel to all the parties, party members and representatives of the media for their cooperation and publicity through out the hearing.

Khadi Adamu Usman and Justice Jude Obiora served as members of the Kaduna State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

Kaduna election tribunal: INEC added 391,741 illegal votes to El-Rufai – Ashiru alleges

August 18, 2019

The 2019 Gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kaduna State, Alhaji Isa Ashiru, has revealed how 391,741 unlawful votes were added to Governor Nasir el-Rufai’s votes during the March 9th Governorship elections.

He also revealed that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, also added a total of 124, 210 unlawful votes to him and his party during the election.

The PDP governorship candidate who contested the declaration of Nasir El-Rufai as governor by INEC, is asking the tribunal to declare him winner of the elections having scored the highest number of the lawful votes cast.

Alhaji Ashiru, who made the revelation in his final written address to the Governorship election tribunal through his counsels, Emmanuel C. Ukala SAN, Donald Denwigwe SAN, Chief Ferdinand O. Orbih SAN, Elisha Y. Kurah SAN and other 14 lawyers said a deduction of 391,741 votes from 1,045,427 allegedly scored by Nasir El-Rufai and a deduction of 124,210 from his original 814, 168 votes will place him ahead of other governorship candidates.

He argued that after the deduction of the unlawful votes, he will be left with 689,958 lawful votes, while Nasir El-Rufai left with 653,686 lawful votes.

According to him, the evidences of his witnesses has demonstrated that there were improper entries in the polling Unit results, wrongful collation of entries in the ward collation results including unstamped and un-authenticated votes as void or invalid votes were credited to the parties.

He further argued that a total of 4, 235 votes were wrongfully credited to El-Rufai on form EC8A while 256 votes were also wrongfully entered for him, another 45,478 votes arising from unstamped result sheets that were unlawfully credited to El-Rufai, while 9,655 votes were equally credited to him, 6,840 unlawful votes arising from improper collation figures were also entered for el-Rufai while 1,098 vote were credited for him, 391,188 voids and unlawful votes were also credited to El-Rufai while 113,001 votes were equally credited to him.

Ashiru opined that he has given enough material evidence of substantial irregularities to enable the tribunal declare him winner of the March 9thGovernorship election in Kaduna State.

The PDP’s Ashiru who cited several authorities in his written address, averred that INEC, Nasir El-Rufai and the APC in Kaduna State did not demonstrated the required evidence to counter balance the relevant and material oral and documentary evidence by his witnesses.

The INEC had declared El-Rufai winner of the election after he polled 1,045,427 votes.

Alhaji Isa Ashiru, candidate of the PDP, the petitioners of the outcome of the polls, scored 814,168 votes.

The petitioners had approached the Tribunal to challenge INEC for declaring El-Rufai as winner claiming that the poll was characterized by massive rigging, ballot stuffing and electoral violence in some parts of the state.

The PDP’s Ashiru had presented 135 witnesses before the tribunal to justify his allegations.

The Petitioners and the Respondents are expected to appear at the tribunal on Monday 19th August for adoption of the final written address

The Price Of betrayal in Friendship-Comr Isah Rabiu.

l have been quite introspective, particularly about friendship. I’m very touchy when it comes to relationships.

The hallmark of relationships is fidelity to loyalty.

I feel hurt when friends stab each other at the back, particularly due to selfish differences or selfish interest.

Few days ago, at my social media handle I came across betrayed by a core friend but nevertheless because whatever comes around will surely go sometimes, I admonished some my core friends not to destroy one another because of some betrayals.

When you do that, the same gender or people and ruling class would never trust you because they would think that if you could do that to your long-standing friends, you would do same to them, particularly since these betrayals are usually due to pecuniary considerations.

I won’t always agree on issues. That is normal but what binds you together with your heart core friend is too strong to be frittered away on the altar of friendship.

Listen, betrayal is too short. It’s just like blinking of an eye but the seeds of betrayal would have germinated.

Look at some people you know around you,They were best of friends but today because of betrayal things changes.

You are free to choose to be in single or in friendship,
who preferred to die in betrayal than walking as single?
