pendo89:Supposedly you're one of the reasonable females in this section. Defacto "Romance Section Poster of the Year." How appropriate. |
Xtfield:Egbon, Ee seere. Tell them o. That's exactly what it was like in '76 when Murtala was killed. School was in pandemonium. Teachers sobbing. All these mothers rushing inside the school to pickup their kids. Students freaked out - little primary school children didn't know what had just happened at Obalende. . . So I was told sha. Sure, bro. Not sure it worked though. Sorry. Maybe too limiting. Hang in there. hmm. Where are the NL Igbos/Ibibio to help a brother out nau? The way this story is told makes little sense. Why would he need a divorce when he can seek an annulment? And he can get it quicker too. Unless they already went forward with the marriage, now years later he is using that as an excuse. Bogus tale. |

Debo, Since you've got the eagle eye . . . I was actually trying to play it safe so my words couldn't be twisted by that lurking malevolent Bleep-Rated Yoruba language and incantation expert, . ![]() Mea Culpa! I made a mistake. Spotted it too late, and couldn't edit. Vedaxcool, Why are you so passionate about attacking fellow Muslims? You don't see enough Muslim-haters on Nairaland to engage? ![]() |
Very good move. Good luck! I would suggest you edit the title in the opening post, to add "(Ibibio)." That way it will immediately attract those who can tell you about that culture. Since you already know your father's tribe/ethnic group, I think being more speific would help a lot to get pertinent questions answered right away. |

antartica: No offense, but. . . Is being alive like being in a dreamlike state to you? Do you believe that peace comes only when you die? Do you really feel that everyone alive is in agony? I expect you're merely being philosophical. I don't wish to derail. If you wish to elaborate, please go here and shed some light on the above. I was hoping this wouldn't get sidetracked and we lose sight of the real issue here. Buzugee, don't indulge in any verbal fisticuff. It's the arrogant mean crooked thieving slap-happy pastor that's the problem. ![]() |
There are Christians and there are Kiriyos. These people who see nothing wrong in anything their self-professed and dubiously anointed "Man of god" does are the personification of a Kiriyo. Those dullards who prance around like headless chickens, running their mouth, working themselves into a "drunken" state singing the praises of mortal men who pick their pockets. Do they follow their God? Or do they follow the pastor? Very sad and shameless bunch. But, I digress. They can't handle the truth; leave them to their idol-worshiping. buzugee: Lord Buzugee "The beginning and the end The Alpha and the Omega." When are you gonna build your own temple? The Gospels of Buzugee. ![]() P.S. Seriously, it sickens me when people say, "don't question a "Man of god." Which god? How do you know he serves the real God? Always question these people. Always remember this: https://www.mayhem.net/images/sectleaders.jpg March 18, 2000 - Suicide Cult in Uganda - Authorities in Uganda believe that up to 470 members of an obscure Catholic cult commited mass suicide by setting their church on fire. "The scene is horror," police spokesman Asuman Mugenyi told The Associated Press. "It is only about two or three bodies which you can say that these are men or women. The rest of the bodies are beyond human shape." The cultist allegedly gathered at the church 200 miles southwest of the capital Kampala where they chanted and sang for hourse before lighting the place on fire. Authorities found that the windows and doors of the church had been nailed shut and the prayer mats were doused with gasoline. It is believed the congregation went up on flames when all the cultist lit their candles. "Prior to this incident their leader told believers to sell off their possessions and prepare to go to Heaven," a spokesman for Ugandan authorities said. One of the cult leaders, Joseph Kibweteere, known as "The Prophet", predicted the end of the world for December 31, 1999. When that didn't materialize, he moved the date up to December 31, 2000. Then, for some reason, changed it to March 17. http://www.mayhem.net/Crime/uganda.html |

I don't see the rationale for opposing the naming of the University of Nigeria after Ojukwu. The school has a lot of history and is one of the largest universities in Nigeria. You do not have to be an educator to have a school named after you. And everyone knows how much Naija people love education; some Africans even make songs about it. lol. I haven't seen any convincing argument why this would not be a fitting honour for the man. If you'd rather the university in Anambra be named after him . . .well, sorry, Zik was much older, and having died first, the school was re-named Nnamdi Azikiwe University. It also doesn't stop any other honour being bestowed upon him. You can still name as many places and things as you want, after him. I really don't see the problem with this proposal. ![]() http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Nigeria,_Nsukka http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nnamdi_Azikiwe_University P.S. Is it that his family feel that he would not want such? Or those still holding on to the "actualization" of a separate Biafra feel it is just a ruse to tie their people down to Nigeria? |

Very nice. It's good to hear it was all put together by the Igbo Association of Nashville. Every city with significant Naija population should have all the different associations and one or more umbrella organization for Naijas and Africans collectively. |
