OAM4J: Please always supply a link of the thread you are complaining about. Took me a while to find the thread in question.

A warning has been added to the thread title. Thanks.
Fine. You were the only Mod listed as that subsection's mod, and I also personally hold you in high esteem, hence why I addressed my concern to you.

Now, someone has reposted it in a new thread, though they were updating concerned people of the investigation. You need to remove the video (and or relocate thread). It is in the Politics section, and I will not supply a link.

Thanks.

OAM4J, why are "disgusting" crime threads making home page? I never go to that section but made the mistake of viewing another poster's posts and saw a horrible thread. I did not view the video but got an idea of the contents from other post.

You know kids come to this site, right? In the General Nairaland section, there is a misguided thread for 13-19 year olds, which I don't even think is permissible since it attracts weirdoes to go where children are congregating. Then to top it off we have all these sick threads.

And then they're making homepage! Whose idea was that?

The least you can do is remove the video.

P.S. I'm not attacking you, by the way. It's just disturbing. We really need a new approach. I will have to read up on Nigeria's laws about obscenity in mass media cos there is no way some rule is not being violated.

GenBuhari,

Thank you, my brother. I look forward to seeing you as a moderator in this section. Hope the family are doing well. smiley
PoliticsRe: Know Your Legislators by isalegan2(op): 9:13pm On Dec 07, 2013
Thanks for that.

It's okay, I have the websites for the rest of the information. lol. Thanks. smiley

I will post each senator and Rep, and possibly, State Assembly members info, gradually.
PoliticsRe: Know Your Legislators by isalegan2(op): 8:34pm On Dec 07, 2013
A couple of threads (by an unemployed graduate with health issues, and one on a crime video) really bothered me, and I have decided to compile as much info as I can on all the Lawmakers for all the States in the country.

I want people to have access at their fingertips so they can call or write the people that are supposed to be serving them.

I will go in alphabetical order.

So you agree with the message in the OP. I've met "Christians" like you. Very bitter, demented, repulsive, hypocritical people.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Who Would Win A Fight Between A Wrestler And A Boxer by isalegan2: 5:49pm On Dec 07, 2013
Bossforeva: how do you code pictures into a post?
You can:
A) pull from images already in your computer (picture folders) or,
B) you can copy the URL of a picture you see online.

Then when you're composing:
a) attach a picture by clicking "choose file" and then searching in your computer. . . or,
b) click on the little ikon up top that reads "Insert Image/Picture" and be sure to fit your URL in between . You see where the hyphen is?

I hope it didn't sound like I was talking down to you. I tend to over instruct.

I prefer the B (& b) style of posting pics, unless I can't find the image online.

berem: LWKMD!! Isale gan, what a comic relief! This should be on front page Asap! grin grin
OAM4J might pin it on Politics section (front page), but I don't see anything good coming out of putting it on Homepage. grin

Anyway, I think this is one of my favourite lines:

PoliticsRe: So Why Did Mandela Refuse A Second Term? by isalegan2: 4:03pm On Dec 07, 2013
Afam4eva: It's not a crime to seek re-relection as long as the constitution permits but it's a crime trying to change the constitution to be able to come back for a third term. That's why Mandela should be praised for not coming for a second term even though the constitution allowed it. How many African leaders have ever done it. None that i know of.
Not only Africans try to hold onto power. Guiliani of New York tried it, even though he was a huge supporter of term limits. Bloomberg also was hoping he'd get away with it somehow. They do it all the time abroad.

Mandela didn't do it because the African National Congress was a not a party of one man, unlike the way Obasanjo ruled PDP. They started out as Communists and believe more in shared power. People like the great Thabo Mbeki were part of the leadership. They all fought for the freedom of South African Blacks and the end to apartheid. Somehow, Mandela became the symbol, but there are lots more unheralded ANC faithful, former political prisoners, exiled men and women, etc.
PoliticsRe: So Why Did Mandela Refuse A Second Term? by isalegan2: 3:52pm On Dec 07, 2013
seanet01: Though Mandela is an Hero..
Mandela seems like a coward from some perspective though honest.
Mugabe is more Patriotic, Fearless and much more determined to align the path of his country with its Prosperity
I agree, but I wouldn't call Mandela a coward. Cowardly? Not that either. Though he appears to have compromised somewhat, probably for the safety of his people, and not for his own self-aggrandisement.

PoliticsRe: Are You Interested In Moderating This Section? by isalegan2: 2:33pm On Dec 07, 2013
funkybaby: 5 ke? Why? huh

I think the 2 mods left are okay for now.

Seun should not rush into appointing any new mod.
Well, it was obvious that 3 were not enough. Hence, the advertising for a 4th volunteer - before SexPills bit the dust.

I think having 5 immediately, instead of the minimum of 4 that Seun felt he needed, would make for adequate moderating . . .an extra that can cover when needed. . .better rotation . . .
EntertainmentRe: Share Your ‘DOG ATTACK EXPERIENCE’ Here by isalegan2:
Yomii: Don't even talk about such experience because the one that happened to my cousin sister some couples of years back is still fresh in my memory. The dog physically, naturally and wickedically bite off her left leg. I saw the meat shaking on the ground!
I hope her father killed that dog with his bare hands o. I would disembowel it with machete.

P.S. I do know dogs don't normally attack people unless they're retrained to be vicious or maybe were abused but once they start attacking there's not much you can do but to put them down. Its unfortunate. The best thing is to continue going after people that made the dogs vicious like that.
