ACWGG therefore called on Federal and State governments to as a matter of urgency, quickly roll out palliatives to cushion the dying hunger of the common man that could not go to farm following the activities of bandits and cannot afford high prices of food items in the markets.

PoliticsHunger: Arewa Youth Mobilizes For Mass Protests by iSense247(op):
The Arewa Citizens Watch for Good Governance (ACWGG), has commenced mobilisation of its members and other Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in the country to protest against what it described as ”officially induced hunger and high cost of living in the country."

It warned that if nothing is done within the next 10 days starting from Monday, July 24, 2023, the government should not blame the people for their ventilation of their anger against hunger.

ACWGG therefore called on Federal and State governments to as a matter of urgency, quickly roll out palliatives to cushion the dying hunger of the common man that could not go to farm following the activities of bandits and cannot afford high prices of food items in the markets.

The group particularly called on Civil Society Organisations to join it in mobilising their members and other Nigerians to protest against what it described as “artificially induced hunger and high-cost living” in the country.

These were in a statement on Monday by the chairman of ACWGG, Alhaji Aliyu Sani, in which it expressed sadness and deep concern over millions of voiceless Nigerians that are unable to cope with the escalating energy prices and growing severe hunger in the country, adding that the difficult situation has led to an upsurge in cases of petty theft and high mortality particularly in northern Nigeria.

PoliticsTinubu’s Policy: Student Loan Scheme Is Not Implementable – Professor Adibe by iSense247(op): 8:13pm On Jul 25, 2023
A Professor of Government Studies, Professor Jideofor Adibe, has insinuated that there is no merit in the student loan scheme that was signed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; as he maintained that the scheme is not implementable, hence, the 10th National Assembly should include reviewing the scheme in its agenda.

Professor Adibe had said, “Part of the agenda could be having a second look at that student loan scheme because it’s not implementable.”

Forward video to 46:19 – https://www.youtube.com/live/u73zNnMP8Mc?feature=share

Professor Adibe, who spoke during an interview on Sunrise Daily, a Channels Television programme, argued that the student loan bill that was signed by President Tinubu is not implementable. According to him, the bill was introduced by the past National Assembly without careful consideration, hence, the reason why it would not be implementable. He went further to express possibility that the bill was signed to hike up tuition fee for higher institutions.

Adibe defended his argument by maintaining that the requirements for eligiblity might not be feasible for many households in the country. He suggested that the 10th National Assembly could consider reviewing the bill to allow for better service delivery.

Adibe also reviewed some of the policies of President Tinubu, as he noted that economic crisis in the country is not just as a result of fuel subsidy removal, but as a result of other steps that have been taken without careful considerations. He mentioned that unifying exchange rates without considering what Nigeria has to offer to the foreign market would do the country no good.

The supporters of Tinubu's disqualification hinged it on 2 undisputed facts of:

a. having forfeiture of USD460k by the APC presidential candidate which goes against the constitution of Nigeria,
b. being a citizen of another country, and
c. wrong nomination of a running mate.

A powerful former president is working tirelessly to see that Tinubu is disqualified and declared not fit to run for president ab inition

“I’m sorry, I’m not in the position to advise Nigerians because I’m not in government and I don’t want to make mistake. Only members of government who are reading files that know a lot of things about the country can do that. I'm in a position like you and I will see it the way you will see it.”
Does someone needs to be in government before he can advise Nigerians or the government he helps fostered on the people? Old men in Nigeria thinks they are wise.

“I Can’t Advise Nigerians On Current Hardship” – – Bisi Akande National APC Leader
Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief Bisi Akande has said that he would not advise Nigerians on the current severe hardships being faced on all fronts as a result of the removal of the fuel subsidy because he is not in government.

Recall that since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s removal of fuel subsidy in his Inauguration speech, the living conditions of Nigerians have started growing from bad to worst based among others on the progressive increment of prices of PMS from N185 per litre to N515 Per litre and now to N585 per litre and beyond.

Chief Bisi Akande spoke in Oro in Irepodun local government area of Kwara state on Saturday on the sideline of the reception organized by the Oro Community to honour the immediate past Minister of Information and Culture Alh Lai Mohammed for doing the community proud during his eight years in office.

Speaking with journalists in the private resident of the former minister on his advise to Nigerians based on the hardship they are currently facing, he said.

“I’m sorry, I’m not in the position to advise Nigerians because I’m not in government and I don’t want to make mistake. Only members of government who are reading files that know a lot of things about the country can do that. I'm in a position like you and I will see it the way you will see it.”

He nevertheless extolled the virtues of the former minister particularly while he served under him as the Publicity Secretary of Alliance for Democracy (AD),Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN)and All Progressives Congress (APC).

“He served Alh Muhammed Buhari for eight years that’s not my business because I wasn’t part of the government but while serving under me as the Publicity Secretary of the AD,ACN and APC I found him to be a diligent people’s servant.”he said.

“I know him to be a great man a very honest individual always willing to learn. He does his job according to rule and I’m happy that he has such a wife that can allow his husband to move among others and be great so I’m happy.”The elder statesman enthused.

Chief Akande also urged the people of Oro to shun “Bad mouthing “syndrome and unite with whoever has the opportunity to be great in order to reproduce many great sons like Alh Lai Mohammed.

“I want to advise our people in Oro to be united because I know they belong to the minority in Kwara state due to the wickedness of the colonial masters who splitted the people of Igbomina and the Yoruba between the old western region and the old northern region.

“So today I can see my people being in minority also in Kwara state and I begin to say that our people must be united in everything they do.When they see anyone of them moving forward in a race they should support him and not say I think I can do it better and then begin to badmouth or pull down.

“The pull down syndrome must not be allowed among Oro people or Igbomina people so that they could produce many more of Lai Mohammed. ” he said.

In his his own remark, the former minister Alh Lai Mohammed said there is no honor more valued than the one you are given by your own people.”

“Whatever might be their reasons for honouring me I can only thank them for the honour they have done to me its very rare not common because the common parlance is that a prophet is not honoured by his own people.”he added

Speaking to Naija247Newsthe current situation in Nigeria the former minister also declined comment.

“I am today Lai Mohammed,a private citizen like you,so what do I know about government?

He also declined comment about his trying period during the eight years as a minister saying this is not a forum for that,” there will still be fora that we’ll discuss that.

He however commended the people of Oro community for their religious tolerance that bound them together in unity and urged others to emulate them.

He said, ”All over the world one of the greatest challenges humanity is facing today is extremism and extremism could come through political groups or religious abuse and in most cases one overlap the other. For those of us familiar with Boko Haram insurgency it was purely intolerance and extremism on the part of some people and this is what I find it unique about my community because my people always live in harmony in respective of your religion affiliation.”

Earlier, President of Oro Community Prof Olabode Bojuwoye in his address said the ceremony was a well-deserved homecoming,” for our illustrious son Alh Lai Mohammed.”

“We thank him for his numerous services while in lagos state as Chief of staff then as National Publicity secretary of APC then as Minister for eight years.

We are extremely happy at home because as they say charity begins at home.

His contributions to Oro community are immense and cannot be forgotten. “he added.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who was represented by his Deputy Mr Kayode Alabi at the occasion also commended Alh Lai Mohammed for serving the nation meritoriously and make kwara state proud.

He urged politicians and other stakeholders to live in unity and peace among themselves so that the state can continue to witness development.

Shehu Sani Reacts as Asari Dokubo Plans to Protect President Tinubu with Private Army
Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has warned President Bola Tinubu against allowing the rise of a private army to protect him.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Sani’s warning comes after Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, announced that he had raised a private army to protect Tinubu.

In a viral video, Dokubo said that he and his comrades are working for the president, and anyone seeking his downfall will be crushed.

Sani said that Tinubu does not need a private army, saying that the country’s armed forces, Police and other security agencies have the experience, capacity and competence to provide all the necessary protection for him.

“They are viruses for the destruction of any country,” Sani said. “A fragile country like ours doesn’t need a private army.”

He wrote on Twitter: “I don’t know if the trending video is real or fake, but in any case, President Tinubu must not directly or indirectly allow or encourage the rise of state-backed private armed militia.

Atiku won 21 states
Obi won 13 states (including Benue & Rivers) plus FCT
Tinubu won 1 state
Kwankwaso won 1 state

So how come INEC fraudulently declared that last as the winner? Is it possible for a candidate to win the least number of states and still be declared winner? Only in Nigeria!

Yemi Balogun

A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Timi Frank, has called on justices presiding over the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) to be resolute and remain faithful to their oath of office and allegiance by dispensing justice without fear or favour.

Frank, in a statement issued on Sunday, urged the Appeal Court Justices to use the opportunity afforded by the revelation by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar won 21 states to redeem the lost image of the judiciary.

DAILY POST reports that INEC had, in its response to Atiku and PDP’s joint petition, revealed that the PDP presidential candidate won 21 states of the federation in the February 25 presidential election.

The 21 states listed by INEC as won by Atiku and PDP are Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Borno, Delta, Ekiti, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Osun, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe and Zamfara.

Frank said now that INEC has voluntarily admitted on record that Atiku won 21 states instead of the 12 states it earlier credited to him, the Tribunal need not look further but to declare the former Vice President as the authentic winner of the February 25, 2023, presidential election.

“This definitely shows clearly that Atiku’s results were swapped with that of Tinubu to make him win, albeit fraudulently.
The justices owe it to themselves, Nigerians and God to declare Atiku the rightful winner of the 2023 presidential election.

“We know the justices of the Appeal Court hearing the petition challenging the declaration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the presidential election are under tremendous pressure coupled with vile threats and intimidation to maintain an illegal status quo, but they must not succumb because the pressure of God that will be on them should they neglect this material fact would be more than the pressure from men.

“It must never be said that the man who won the least number of states and votes became president as against the man who won majority of states and votes.

“We cannot afford to go back to the era of impunity in this country when the Nigeria Governors’ conducted an election and declared that man who won 15 votes winner rather than the man that won 19 votes.

“The Justices must be resolute and remain faithful to their oath of office and allegiance by carrying out their assignment without fear or favour,” he said.
