@isleman hi. i believe nairaland is a board for everybody and anybody to talk on. sometimes wise words do come out from the young uns. tolerance is the key. if you do not like a comment move on or report to a moderator. and no i am not young. hope this soothes your nerves. cheers wink

Thanks pal for your comments. indeed it is tolerable, but when they begin to misbehave and mis-yearn, it becomes unbearable. Don't you think some of those unholy and cruel abuse on Nairaland are from these kids? would any mature person ever speak carelessly at another person? only uncontrolled kids behind computers can do that  and in as much as can perpetrate this behind computers, there should also be a good control of how some comments are spilled to the public.

thanks.

First and foremost, I want to use this forum to thank SEUN for all his efforts on Nairaland. I also want to beg SEUN the moderator of Nairaland to please IN THE NAME OF GOD do something very important here.

1. Please ask all Naira landers to update their profile again and state clearly their AGES and location.

2. Please ensure that when someone make a post or comment, only people of his/her age-mate can read or have access to their comments or post.

3. let us also know those that are not in Nigeria by making their comment differently coloured and even display where they are currently (i may help you with that if am sought) so we can see where they truly are (some are in Topa or Mesebo in Cotonou and say they are in Texas, USA) and also decide if we want t read their comment or not as many of them want to oppress/flaunt at any available opportunity about where they are even when not asked (regular naija oppression mentality).

In African culture elders and children don't talk on same forum. Its either elders talk, children listen or elders talk separately and children talk separately. I have read a lot of blasphemy here seemingly posted by children, and i don't blame them, they are just TOO, TOO young to understand many things. Some things are not meant for public hearing(called classified) and some are not meant for kids (parental guidance and control).

I am SO, SO, SO TIRED of reading comments by children hiding behind computers to talk. All this CHILDREN OF NAIRALAND (CHON) are so, so many and they need a forum of their own.

I know it may be difficult for you SEUN to do, but i believe if you can go this far, you should make it better. GOD is your strength.

I will post this on a separate post, but i want people to know here i am coming from.

On Shina Rambo, even the fetus fear Shina Rambo as he terror-ed between 1991 - 1994. He specializes in high profile cars and possibly banks. He doesn't attack poor, average people.

As he said, most of the time, people killed are either police or police shooting stray bullet on innocent people at scenes. Poor people barely fear Shina Rambo as they have nothing he wants, except for the gun spray that associates his presence by the police and his men whenever his fleets crosses town.

As per IROKO TREE, SEA GODDESS, UNDERGROUND SEA CITY, THAT IS CONFIRMED TRUE. i wont say more than that. O ye Children of Nairaland (CHON) open your ears and listen and learn.

They both must have offended each other and need to find a common ground.

Why would she talk about Chidis shyness and how he collected her number form the Hairdresser at the salon? she is trying to paint him bad definitely. You don't say such of your husband in public. You guys met at salon and got along, that all.

But, CHIDI if truly you married her at least traditionally, you find get her back or divorce her properly for the sake of the kid. IMO

Business / Re: Jonathan Revives Atomic Energy Commission (Nuclear Power Generation) by isleman(m): 3:05pm On Sep 16, 2011
There are several factors to be considered for a nuclear power station. Yes, it produces enormous amount of energy, but it comes with a price;

1. it is expensive in maintenance and overall.
2. it require constant cooling - considering our environment, more cooling would be required
3. it requires high profile experts
4. its errors are fatal, no room for mistakes - death is not the fair but radioactive emissions that can cause unknown diseases (japanese wont know it now, lets wait for years to come).
5. it generates wastes that take years to completely disintegrate and lose its radioactive potency (even its waste is deadly)
6. How do we manage the waste and where do we dump it.
7. etc

please GEJ should consider other options as we have them in abundance or i pack my bag and leave sharp-sharp!!

Is it now that negotiating with terrorist started. Where were you all when amnesty was offered to ND millitants? and even sending them abroad for training. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

if you can offer amnesty and channel such huge funds to militants in ND, then Boko Haram weather sensible or senseless deserve it too and after them, OPC. Egbesu, Biafra boys will also start. GEJ knows this and that is why he cant say anything. Its a national cake that must go round.

On the other hand, OBJ is plotting to end the crisis either peacefully or by war. His mission there is to identify the enemy, know their strength (the guy even went to the extend of saying where the camps are - in chad, Niger, Cameroon etc). He also would want to know those 30% - 40% members they are talking about (information gathering).

Never forget that OBJ started negotiation with Ganiyu Adamd (OPC leader) then. There had been several meetings with Adams, he- Adams strolled in and out of Aso Rock then and raised his shoulder in the society while people condemned OBJ's move then as afraid of OPC and dining with them until one day Adams went to Aso Rock to meet with OBJ and rather got arrested along with his team. That suppressed OPC

When Boko Haram is given that recognition they want by FG, their leaders and strong hold will begin to step out when money starts to get involved, until one day monkey go go market, e no go come back.

Same happened to Asari Dokubo. Its a decoy, Diplomatic/military tactics. It is called pointing banana to a monkey in one hand and pointing a gun at the monkey with another hand. Guess what will happen?

Be warned now that Yorubas have absolutely nothing in common with the Okoros! We know our roots but they claim to be jews so where is the correlation?

(Secretly laughing at the jewish claim, lol, )

When i say we have a lot of things in common, it doesn't necessarily mean IGBOS, i mean the south as a whole. I personally have no problems with igbos, i have many of them as friends. i have many many Hausas as friends too. if i go up north today, accommodation, meals etc wont be a problem. but since they cant control their brothers, i have to draw back for a while and allow them correct their issues first.

Christianity plays a lot role in the south and i believe Christians have the spirit of brotherhood. that is where i feel soth as a whole can tolerate each other if factors of co-existence are discussed before hand.

@DESOLA, why do you despise igbos so much? if one igbo offends you, not all igbos has offended you. People offend irrespective of tribe. As for me, once you are modern and think upright, am good with you.

heard alot about Igbo and jew, am not protesting it.

KoolMaster:

Guys,
Let us caution ourselves on some of these news. We are no fools.
-What is a power plant? Are they referring to the Turbo machines or the Alternator?
-If they are referring to the turbo Machine, then just maybe it is a coal type (but where is the souce of fuel, Oh from Enugu or Orukwpa , sure those are the places with coal in Nigeria) or maybe it is gas type (Is there a gas source Makurdi ? May David Mark has piped a fuel gas line from Southern part of the country to Makurdi).
-PHCN over the last 50 years has been using hydro power generation and some coal /gas fuel turbo system. Only recently have states (southern States and Lagos) shown the way to the foolish PHCN that power can be generated via the TURBINE machines.
So if they are saying that Power plant is in Makurdi, what kind of power plant are they referring to? Is it hydro generation via the River Benue? May it is One “I better pass my neighbor”.

I think the location is described, you may find out. it least its not in a secret place. read the post again.

I don't think GEJ needed to be told this. The entire armed forces is full of northerners. i expect him to change them all. If he thinks loyalty and free mindedness (if he has any) will make him rule peacefully, he'd better wake up. Giving people chance will spoil his chance.

I wonder when our criminal laws changed. All i have always known is that you do wrong and you get punished. I'd never seen anywhere terrorists would be handed over to non-combatant, not-skilled religious leader for reformation.

What is kiri-kiri and its like for? or why do they think USG has Guantanamo bay? reformation of course. let their reformation take place in prison or simply put behead them by sharia law.

True Nigeria needs to part for 30 years at list before we can think of coming together again which might be impossible by then.

If we fully disintegrate, it is very possible some will come together again. we really need each other for one thing or the other. Its just that our structure of co-existence is not discussed and some people don't what it discussed because it favouring them.
Politics / Re: 4 Options Gej Has by isleman(m): 3:12pm On Sep 05, 2011
@Desola, and Blis4lyfe

Your stories are not far from each other, the south have a lot in common and can be easily linked, that is why i recommend a southern country of its own. we can tolerate ourselves better.

The Yorubas also have a great link with the north(hausas) having both founders migrated from Saudi Arabia, but the extremism is the main reason we are calling for separation. After all, there are Yorubas in Benin republic and they are doing fine. if we part with the north now, both parties will also do fine as our agendas now differ. let them pursue their goals while we pursue ours.

@Godman
Yes, you are very right and that is why we want to part. it doesn't seem realistic that we can ever say no to the west having wrong leaders who rig elections into power and the whole world will tell us it was free and fair despite that we the Nigerians saw the rigging in broad day light and posted it on youtube.

I said it earlier, that i prefer one Nigeria, but we've been chasing shadows for too long in this country, as we battled military rule to democracy, to election rigging, election violence, corruption, power, poor infrastructural development, poor education, poor health infrastructure, bad roads etc and to now to crown it all- bombing?

It doesn't seem its going to get right. let us part now and go and rebuild from our roots. perhaps we might come together again when we realize what we miss from our unity. little wonder why some Nigerians go abroad and never want to come back.

For me, GEJ's option is to call for a sovereign national conference which will either peacefully solidify Nigeria or disintegrate it.
Education / Re: School Fees Of Church-owned Universities In Nigeria by isleman(m): 4:16pm On Sep 02, 2011
In as much as i agree to tithe simply because God asked of it. Let me be clear that God is not hungry and do not need anybody to feed HIM.

I also strongly believe as the bible said it that "so that the house of GOD shall not lack" , "so that there shall abundance in the house of GOD", i admit we need to give to the church because money is the wheel of gospel.

I believe you should give to church as you have, it could be more than 10% or less depending on what you have. Muslims don't pay tithes but there is what is called "SAKAT" which is relative to tithe. It is that you give to people who don't have some certain percent of your wealth.

So does that mean Muslims would be tenants in heaven or they would go to hell for not paying tithes religiously.

I see no reason why children of church members should be given rebate on school fees after all, there parents are contributors to the school.

for me its give and take.

Is not about Mercy Johnson's wedding.

That question is never asked in Christ embassy weddings?

The reason is that a week before the wedding, the church members are notified and the couple to be wedded are introduced. So anybody that has anything against them is expected to confront the church and say his mind and it is resolved the best way.
Is not on the wedding that you come bring confusion. There is nothing biblical about that.

Go and find out, that question has surely been asked days before the wedding.
