Fellow Nigerians, please read in-between the lines. He bribed the National Assembly by granting them longer renewable tenure so that they can approve his own tenure elongation.

He promised one term, we have given it to him. he should impress us or just go away.

Life accomplishments has got stages. you decide to achieve what people in their 40s achieve and experience what they experience or have what people in their sixties have and also the other side of it. or have all the riches and influence people in their seventies have and be ready to die when they are dying.

pray to God for His guidance and don't give Him time. May our time never pass us by.

sleekfella:

The problem of Nigeria boils down to the system of government we operate, let every state be in charge of its resources and source for funds to run its government  as in true federalism, and lets stop all these money sharing politics we operate, then nigeria will be more productive and those sponsoring all these unholy act in the name of politics will be of no relevance.

fire has risen to the roof now. things has gone beyond that. its not about governance anymore, its about preventing war and bloodshed.
Politics / Re: Rival To Boko Haram As A New Christian Terrorist Group "akhwat Akwop" by isleman(m): 9:35am On Jul 25, 2011
People should not take sides here. two wrongs don't make a right. this is not good for the image of our country. i hope GEJ will consider sovereign national conference where we can all sit amicably to discuss how we want to co-exist as Nigeria or how we can peacefully part ways.

Its better now before things start happening.
Politics / Re: President Goodluck Is In Danger! - Prophet by isleman(m): 9:15am On Jul 25, 2011
why are we all surprised about this? every president is the number one target, so its not news GEJ knows this himself.

mathskill:

The renowned global financial intelliegence magazine, The Banker, a publication of the Financial Times of London, has conferred on Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi double awards. The awards are the Central Bank Governor of the Year for the entire world, and that of the African continent.[3] The TIME magazine also listed Sanusi in its TIMES 100 list of most influential people of 2011[4]
If you refuse to recognize excellence amongst because of prejudice,sentiment and hatred others will

sanusi should show his own people better. he should know what kind of impact such will cause the nation and his people who are always wanting to have a go at one another.

you and i know, it wont cause a itch, but look at what its causing now. sanusi is heating the system right now. some of his reforms are coming at the wrong time.
Politics / Re: Muslim Leaders Vow To Defend Islamic Banking by isleman(m): 8:27am On Jul 25, 2011
i don't have any problem with Islamic bank as it is, but its the consequences that matters to me. We live in a country with vast and majority of people are illiterates who cant reason properly.

My concerns are:

1. why should be called Islamic bank? will this bring about the oneness we are preaching in this country?
2. If its to be called Islamic bank and it existed elsewhere before, why would anyone one to defend it with last drop of their blood? why not torch it and educate others.

It is clear some people are not happy with GEJ as president and will do anything to bring unrest and that is why we need to rethink. ARE WE REALLY ONE?
Politics / Re: Boko Haram Funded Using Awalla Monetary System? by isleman(m): 8:15am On Jul 25, 2011
what is awalla? i guess this people want attention just like the Niger -delta militants did. but they should at least identify themselves and say their grievances like the militants did.

I beg to be corrected, but each day we deceive ourselves and shy away from the truth. Nigeria is a forced relationship that led to an unhappy marriage. the north and the south have very great contrast in belief, religion and almost everything.

Please help me here, when a relationship or marriage goes sour and its leading to one attempting the life of the other, what is the solution to it?

That answer is the solution to Nigeria!!!

Sports / Re: How Our Nfa Should Be Structured by isleman(m): 8:59am On Jul 05, 2011
10. There should then be the NFA whose membership shall comprise of persons whom had served as a regional FA member and electable by forum leaders and regional FA leaders.
Sports / How Our Nfa Should Be Structured by isleman(m): 8:55am On Jul 05, 2011
Everybody in Nigeria can condemn, some can proffer solutions but only a few have solutions.
This is my submission on how NFA should be structured and run.

1. Every interested Nigerian should be given opportunity to be NFA member

2. Every interested person should be grouped into FORUMS according to their interest e.g.
* Players forum,
* Football analysts’ and journalists’ forum,
* Ex-players forum,
* Sponsors forum,
* Supporters forum,
* Coaches
* Referees forum and so on.

3. The forums should exist at Local Government Levels so as to cut across all the country and category of people.

4. The forums should appoint its leadership by election at every LGA. Their primary role will be to organize and maintain order in the forum.

5. Each forum shall elect certain number or persons e.g. 3 members to constitute the Local Government FA. This is depending on the number of available posts in the LGFA divided by number of forums. Such persons shall be electable by the forum members.

6. The LGFA’s primary role shall be to organize football league or competition within the Local Government.

6. The state FA shall also constitute of elected members whom must had served as LGFA member before and electable by the forum leaders of all LGAs in the state.

7. The primary role of the state FA shall be to organize football league or competition within the state.

8. There should also be a regional FA in each geo-political zone of the country whose members shall be persons whom had served as a state FA member before and shall be electable by state FA members of the geo-political zone.

9. The primary role of the regional FA shall be to organize football league within the Geo-political zone to serve as division 2.

10. There should then be the NFA whose membership shall comprise of persons whom had served as a regional FA member and electable by forum members and regional FA leaders.

12. The NFA should be divided into 3 tiers.
* The first tier shall be charged with local leagues and competitions.
* The second tier shall be responsible for national teams.
* The third tier shall be responsible for administration.

13. There should only be one term of 3 years for LGFA and 4 years for State FA and 5 years for NFA.

14. Members in different forums should pay dues which will serve as a means of raising funds for LGFA and state FA. (Many Nigerian would be interested and would pay dues which will raise huge sum of money).

15. Teams that top each LGA would play to produce teams that will promote to State league. This is same for state to produce teams that promote to regional (division 2 as stated in item 8 above).

16. The NFA should organize division 1 league and premier league. The division 1 league should consist of two conferences i.e. northern and southern conference for northern states and southern states (this is to reduce running cost and expenses for clubs at that level) while the premier leagues clubs will play across the federation.

17. Excesses of the LGFA, SFA and NFA would be checked by the forums through their leadership.

With the analyzed method,

• Elections will cost less
• Experienced people will run our FAs
• Every interested person will have a fair chance
• Organization and the running and membership cuts across the federation.
• People would be elected to posts based on their previous achievements in their previous posts and thus charges them to work hard and deliver while in office.

Sports / Re: Abuja Stadium Should Be Named After Kanu Nwankwo by isleman(m): 8:38am On Jun 15, 2011
Yes! Kanu is a great player and we all appreciate what he has done for this country, but let us consider these facts;

1. He never achieved whatever he achieved for Nigeria alone. what about other members of the team that he co-achieved with?

2. We consider him a great player today and name a stadium after him, what if another player rises tomorrow and probably become world's best footballer? do we also allocate another stadium's name to that player and from there name all stadium after players?

3. Stadia are national edifice and should be left to accentuate our country e.g. If you've heard of wembly stadium, you want to know the meaning of wembly and thus will lead you to knowing more about the country and place. If you name a stadium after a player, it only promotes that player and not the country.

4. Only a player like Okwaraji deserved to have national stadium Lagos named after him because he died on that field while playing for his country.

5. Kanu can be given other awards e.g M.O.N

6. What about the team that equalized RUSSIA 4 -4 in Saudi 89 and after defeated RUSSIA in same match? did they have any street or stadium named after them? they were promised a 504 car and N30,000. wonder if they got any.

7. Kanu got paid every time he laced his boots for Nigeria

Its a good call for the progress of the country. Many of us are just looking for a leader that will spend 4 years fighting and stepping on toes. In as much as we need Justis, equity and fairness, above all, we need progress.

We need to stop fooling ourselves, these people are politicians. They call themselves names to gain a strong negotiating ground and that is what we are seeing now.

No doubt CPC is still really bitter about the election, but so do some of us. But national interest should always come first.
Politics / Re: Lagos Tenancy Bill Passed To Fashola For Signing by isleman(m): 2:48pm On Jun 01, 2011
I think the law is silly and questionably. i am on both side of divide as tenant and landlord so i feel the pain of both. My questions to Lagos state Government?

1. Is Tejuosho Market and newly completed shopping outlets is Oshodi and other parts of Lagos rented out at that rate?
2. Is Marwa garden and other Housing units build by Lagos Govt, let out at that rate.
3. Has land use charges on landlords been reviewed? its still exorbitant with LG workers threatening landlords
4. Will this law also compel the prices of cement, roofing sheets, Planks and demands of "omo onile"?

Its good if it can be implemented anyway, but Gov. Fashola himself knows better. The best bet is keen competition. We saw it Nitel and GSM, NTA and other T.V stations and even BRT and Molues.

Fashola should build his own housing units all over Lagos state and let it out at that rate. People will abandon the landlords and go to Fashola's housing estate and the Landlord would be forced to lower their rates or have goats live in their houses.

There must be an alternative for any monopoly to be broken. BRT is a good example, that should be case across all sectors.
Crime / Re: Muslim Girl Stoned To Death In For Participating In Beauty Contest. by isleman(m): 2:21pm On Jun 01, 2011
@ sweetnect, you seem to have very little understanding of GOD and religion generally. GOD is Omnipotent, if you know what that means, you will understand that he can have a child via himself unlike the understanding of humans that a child can only be bore through sexual intercourse between a man and woman. HE (GOD) CAN DO ANYTHING. If Jesus is the son of GOD, let GOD or Jesus defend themselves. Not for you to question or judge. Are you supporting Killing?

Nobody should try to defend any religion or prophet because GOD had already placed them in high esteem. it is not our effort that make any religion of prophet who or what they are. Ours is to follow.

As true believers, our duty is to canvass the people to turn to GOD and worship him. who do we canvass? the believers? No, definitely we canvass the unbelievers. It is from the den of the unbelievers that we convert souls for GOD. now, if we kill people because they are unbeliever of because they do wrong, how would they be corrected or turn to GOD.

Do some of use really think of it that we are a follower of the  religion we follow today because our parents gave birth to us into it. If our parents were unbeliever, we would be unbelievers too and will deserve stoning to death (perhaps).

How many of us ever had the opportunity to chose his/her religion?
How many of us ever practiced other religion?
How many ever though that "what if my religion is faulty or not as holy as i know it"?

we need to think twice before condemning. Killing in the name of religion is the most absurd thing anyone can do. I pity those brainwashed with this doctrine. They may never see the light again.
Family / Re: Wigwe (Beaten Ambassador's Wife): The Other Side Of The Story by isleman(m): 12:32pm On Jun 01, 2011
I never believed the her story from the on set. The injuries on her face were questionable. To sustain such degree on injury on a face alone without damaging the head, shoulder or neck is hard to believe. The injuries on her face seem lacerated, she probably cut herself or the man cut her face. It is impossible to get such injuries by beating, you need to know about injuries to investigate this. The police and doctors should give a report on her claimed injuries

Arsenal 3 - Barca - 4

ManUTD 1 - Barca 3

Simple - Arsenal played better.

Did you realize that only MOURINHO has been able to stop Barca in the last 3 season? watch our for REAL MADRID Next season.

Programming / Re: Which Programing Language Is Best To Start With by isleman(m): 3:39pm On May 30, 2011
YungDoc:

this topic is very enlightening, I too am an aspiring programmer but unfortunately may not be able to get a degree in computer science or related discipline just because of the circumstances that i've found myself, but I do believe that I can get all the info I need and become a professional through reading books, practice, and determination. I'm am currently trying to learn C++, its the first computer language I'm starting with because I understand that its the lowest-level language (apart from raw machine code of course) and will allow you to understand all the essential concepts of programming (OOP, memory management, stacks, etc). Also every other language (java, visual basic) is based on it, though I always hear that Java is more harder to grasp than C++. After I learn C++ I guess I'll move onto Java.

You don't actually need to have a degree in computer science to know programming. Though, it's good in order to seek a job, but as computer profession and gone very professional, just read, learn, write professional exams and prove yourself of the knowledge and you are good to go anytime.

If you can be a master in any of the programs, i will advise you not to look for a job, they will look for you or better still, work for yourself.
Programming / Re: Which Programing Language Is Best To Start With by isleman(m): 3:34pm On May 30, 2011
The question really is "what do you want to achieve with programming?". The task will determine which program to develop your skills on. Below is a little hint

basics - C, C++
desktop application - visual studio 2001 or 2010,
web application / websites - HTML, XML, Javascript, PHP or ASP
Games - Action Scrip 3.0, C#,
Overall - Java, .NET

You will need some IDEs for most compiler languages. NetBean IDE is ideal for Java while you may try komodo Edit 6 for other languages and DevCPP fro C and C++

I hear you @Isleman. But the NTA is all we have man and can be an effective media tool when mobilised. That's why politicians hijack it so much. We can't just leave it to them as some kind of political play thing and propaganda machine. Don't worry I'm not naive and I know to do that will almost be impossible! And there are some good people in the organisation. We can start with them.

@AdamuW - yes of course, there are good guys there. One of my friend's husband work there and he is pretty good on his job. The problem is, he is oppressed by the system. Even if you have bright ideas, it will killed by seniors so that you don't get promoted above them because of your good ideas which make the look silly and not productive. Unlike the private media that have a mandate to make money or get no pay.

wish you the best with NTA. My best advise, go there only when you have money. They don't like starters.

@Muskeeto - well, it really depends on your time and what you are reading or studying for. If you are a beginner, yes reading is fundamental as it sinks deeper. at a professional stage when you are on a job ad needs a solution fast, reading might take time.

that is rather un-called for. Instead, let every corp member serve in their geo-political zone amongst their kin. Why go to people's place in order to shoot them. Its better not to go at all.

I think NANS is in the better position to stand up for this corppers may not be able to stand for themselves as they have union.
Politics / Re: Aljazeera Airs A Heartbreaking Program About Lagos(25 May 2011 -Video) by isleman(m): 12:26pm On May 27, 2011
@POSTER- I advice you to brighten up. You are sad because you know a little about what is going on and you are outside the country and the media is just trying to paint things bad.

firstly let me say abject poverty is a choice, you live in it or get out of it. everyone had one time or the other struggled at varying degree before, to get to where they are today and we are still struggling to get better.

I have been to that place MAKOKO before to a traditional physiotherapist called DR. BALE (presumably and IJAW man) when i had a knee injury from playing football. A friend of mine took 3 of us with similar problem there because he got solution to his own knee and ankle problem there after i have tried hospitals, gyms etc. their solution wasn't working for me as they were just theories and was taking so much time without any noticeable improvement and i needed to bounce back to life.

I was impressed and surprised about the kind of treatment, change and relief i got from this man. He performed a local operation on my knee, laps and ankle. I got  healed in two and half week (an injury I'd been carrying for almost two years. I couldn't squat or kneel down before then). i started playing football again in one month after the local operation.

I offered this local doctor some amount of money because i was very impressed of his treatment, he refused and collected only the appropriate charges for the treatment and said i could give him gift some other time. I offered him accommodation/space in town and a link to come and treat some other guys in town but he refused and said they should rather come to him. I gave up the idea after several failed attempt to bring that kind of man with healing secrets to town. I assumed the sources of his treatment is in connection with water (just an assumption).

These people are riverside people, they are predominantly fisher men and their businesses are linked with the water. They have some connection to the water. If they go anywhere, they must come back to that waterside area. They will not go anywhere else.

Several government had chased these people from MAKOKO in the past, but they still come back and its like the government had come to terms with them.

A feel offended when press go to these places and use them as an indices of our civilization or poverty not bothering to know the connection between those people and and the place.
TV/Movies / Re: Sesame Street In Nigeria: Good Or Bad For Us As Nigerians? by isleman(m): 11:42am On May 27, 2011
@AdamuW

bro! only talents can discover talents. NTA don't have the talents, so they cant discover one. remember they are civil servants, they act on instructions. They are not allowed to think. They only work for salaries, promotion and pensions.

You cant go far if you are in anything for the money, because when the money starts coming in, you will lose focus as that is the primary aim of being there. That is the case with most NTA staff, they are there to make money.

Imaging the owner of Marvel comics, the man who started spider-man. he is almost 80years now and is even innovating more after he stepped his comics to cartoon series. Do you think he can be paid off to retire? No! because he loves what he is doing and he is not doing it for money. The money is just a reward for his hard work.

Forget NTA, barely would anything good come from there until they are asked to fund themselves.
