Thaat is why we have importation. Because refining fuel in Nigeria has never been profitable under subsidy(Dangote is able tobulld a refinery because he got loans , which in the event he defaults, the banks just take over his other assets and get their money back)

If you want to stop importation, stop the paayment of subsides, and th setting of prices below the production price. Allow marketers to sell at whatever price they want, and depot owners and even refiinery owners to sell at whatever price they want. Tat wiil attract investment, and more jobs and refineries by extnsion, and eventually lower prices, and Nigeria even expotiing petrol sel

Imported fuel is currently sold at 160 inclusive of marketers profit margin - §locally refined fuel will be less than that inclusive of profit margin along the production chain therefore govt will nkt need to set prices - §moreover govt has state owned refineries which they can run and sell fuel at profit what they sell in nnpc will be an advisory for major and independent marketers.

But corruption in govt has run the refineries down such that they always need tam which itself is a conduit for siphoning dollars.

That's the main reason. So long as people want to buy fuel below its cost of production, and so long as government pays a subsidy that only covers the difference and doesn't let one make enough profit, that's why we have bad refineries,and people smuggling fuel next door

He retired in the old scheme, pre-2004.

He's been owed, they went for verification sometime last year and we thought he would have been paid by now

If he retired in the old scheme from a treasury funded agency - he should have been paid Gratuity and be on monthly pension.

PTAD held a periodic verification of pensioners on there payroll 2019. If he attended and presented all required docs - his monthly pension is guaranteed. However if he did nkt attend or he did nkt have the required docs - his monthly pension would have been stopped.

Again he shoikd have taken his Gratuity long ago.

If he wasn't paid - it means his service was not pensionable I. E contract appointment or he served for less than 10 yrs.
