Nigeria's Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazzau has denied reports of threatening to kill the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

Dambazzau, in a statement obtained by PoliticsNGR, signed by his press secretary, Osaigbovo Ehisienmen, the report which was reportedly published by several online news medium, was False. The statement read;

"The attention of the Honourable Minister of Interior, Lt General (Rtd) Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, has been drawn to a fabricated, malicious, ridiculous and false report posted on Linda Ikeji’s blog and other social media platforms, in which the Minister is falsely accused of threatening to kill Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB.

The statement which reads in parts “if we can imprison Awolowo, killed Ken Saro –Wiwa, murdered Abiola and his wife without Nigeria breaking apart, we are moving to kill Nnamdi Kanu” attributed to the Interior Minister is untrue and quite unfortunate, because the perpetrators of the falsehood and gross innuendoes ought to know that Gen Dambazau (Rtd), a former Chief of Army Staff and a renowned, seasoned security expert with over 30 years PhD degree in criminology cannot conceive such ideals, nor take the credit for such.

It will also interest the perpetrators of this ungodly accusation to note that Dambazau is a Fellow at Harvard University, senior Fellow at Center for Peace, Democracy and Development, University of Massachusetts and Chairman, University Advancement Center, University of Ibadan. He is also a Fellow and Member, Board of Trustees, Society for Peace Studies and Practice, and also Visiting Professor, Strategic Studies, Igbinedion University, Okada Edo State among others.

I therefore admonish the authors of this misleading publication to juxtapose the above mentioned intellectual prowess of General Dambazau (Rtd) with his untainted Military record while in service and see if they will not come to repentance, for laying such weighty allegations against the Interior Minister.

The Interior Minister who is currently on President Muhammadu Buhari’s entourage to the 72nd United Nations General Assembly in the United States of America, where the Nigerian President has brilliantly articulated Nigeria’s commitment to peace and stability in Nigeria, Africa and the World at large, urges well meaning Nigerians to disregard the ill intention statement.

The perpetrators of the malicious statements are out to cause disaffection, disunity and insecurity while creating public unrest, detrimental to the well-being of Nigerians and other foreign nationals in the Country. He therefore called on Nigerians to disregard their antics, as government is committed to the good and prosperity of every Nigerian."

The Economic and financial crimes commission, EFCC, has declared a woman wanted for fraud to the tune of N1 billion and $1.4 million.

According to the commission, One Ittu Affiong Theresa Tommy is a principal suspect in two cases of fraud, contractual malpractices and obtaining goods under false pretence to the tune of N1billion and $1.4million respectively.

Ittu allegedly received about N1billion from a government agency as payment for contracts which she failed to properly execute.

Furthermore, the suspect is alleged to have fraudulently collected aircraft parts worth $1,416,000 from a Russian company and evaded payment. 

The suspect has failed to honour the Commission’s invitation and is currently at large. 48-year-old Ittu is fair in complexion. Her last known address is No. 2B Oko-Awo Close, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has rejected reports that some Igbo leaders are throwing their weight behind the agitation by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) for secession.

Okorocha, who is also the deputy Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, made this statement recently at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Benue State where he went to sympathize and donate relief materials to victims of the flood disaster in the State.

He noted that no sensible Igbo person would leave behind their responsibilities and support an agitation that appears to be childish in nature.

"I have always said IPOB is an agitation group but the captioning is bad when you talk of sovereignty within a sovereign nation and also talking of secession

Let me assure you that no Igbo person or man is in support of secession and people must see this as a childish act and we must stand up and address it before it becomes a national problem.

As for us leaders in that area, it will be insane for anyone to think that the IPOB leader will ask us to follow him to seek secession. So Nigerians must learn to address it specifically. If you are addressing IPOB you should be specific and not to address it as if it’s an Igbo affair.

So I must say unequivocally that no leader in Igbo land is in support of the IPOB activities."

Information reaching the PoliticsNGR newsdesk this afternoon reveals that a serious fire outbreak has occurred at Anchor University, Ayobo, Ipaja, Lagos.

Anchor University, owned by Deeper life Ministries was beseiged by emergency officials of the Lagos state response unit who were quick to put out the Inferno. Several property worth millions were destroyed by the fire. Photos below;

The spiritual director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke Anambra state, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obinma, has fired back at Mbaka stating that he has always been the problem of Biafra agitators and Igbos in general.

Speaking in his parish on Monday, 4th September 2017, he stated that when Enugu indigenes were massacred by Hausa Fulani herdsmen, Mbaka kept mute, when people were killed all over Igbo Land, nobody heard a single word from Mbaka, what makes him a Prophet is only Gossiping and down casting the work the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, who is even fighting to save him from slavery.

Recall that The Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka blasted Kanu, stating categorically clear that he is just using the mind and brain of Igbo youth for his selfish gain. Mbaka also said that all the Igbo youths should pardon him and focus on the upbringing of Nigeria, adding that Igbos are better in one Nigeria than creating Biafra.

Obinma allegedly said; "Nnamdi Kanu is more important to Igbos and more Prophetic than Mbaka, at least, he Nnamdi Kanu foresaw what is happening now in Nigeria while Mbaka was Busy then campaigning For APC, now that his party APC has failed, Mbaka has not condemned the same APC party that he campaigned for, let the will of God be done, and let Mbaka go to rest."
