izzou: [color=royalblue]Dangote has already made it clear that the crude used for this PMS was purchased in dollars.
That's a clear way to tell Nigerians that it cannot be cheaper.
Reason why they spent 3 days snapping and making videos of dirty, dilapidated tankers, instead of just releasing a press statement on what the price will be.[/color] Even in that press release, baba just dey talk of energy security and availability and how fuel will get to every local government. Plenty of word salad when one paragraph with the price would have achieved better result. |

semid4lyfe: Hmm, that local pap is not as good as the manufactured cereals and it'll definitely tell on a baby in terms of growth and freshness.
I had my 3rd and last child in January this year and he was born at 3.8kg. He started eating at 3 & half months when wifey was preparing to resume back to work from maternity leave.
Due to the exorbitant cost of baby cereals, we opted for home made pap and the made-in-Nigeria cerelac to feed him.
Wifey buys the ingredients (yellow corn, guinea corn, millet, date, coconut, ginger, cloves and unripe plantain) and makes the pap herself, which turns out to be a dark brown colour. NAN milk is added to the baby's pap when it's prepared to feed him.
Now, it's established that with good nutrition, babies should ordinary double their birth weights at 6 months but when baby went for his 6 months immunization, he weighed 7.4kg.
In contrast, his older siblings who were born at lower weights of 3.5kg and 3.25kg, and fed exclusively with Frisogold, imported Cerelac & NAN milk weighed 8.3kg and 8kg respectively at 6 months.
Baby is healthy and very active, and has even hit some developmental milestones faster than his siblings but our conclusion is that his size is due to the lower nutritional input.
In conclusion, ogi no fit do the work wey imported baby cereals dey do. If you see fresh and chubby baby, check well cos no be pap dem dey chop. Now that I think of it, you may be right. If you place children in expensive private schools side by side with their age mates in public schools, you will think the ones in private schools are older. They are usually taller with better body frame. I think it has even been argued on this thread that height is not all genetics. Nutrition also plays a major role. |

Na we get the crude oil, even if we dash DGL free to process and sell to Nigerians at far cheaper rate, who go hold us?! OPEC?! LOL! Yes, OPEC. You can't just decide to sell at any price that pleases you. What we can do is use a lower exchange rate for dangote which is still subsidy on the Dollar. Anyway, I pray you're right. This 1400/litre don nearly send person go village. |

OasisX:

......DGL is simply saying we got the [old] crude oil in dollars hence you can't expect us to run at loss. Wait till October 1st before the public know agreed price between FG and the Refinery.
The Agreement they have with FG [Naira to Naira Transactions] will commence on October 1st, hence a new price should be expected, hopefully cheaper and affordable [though won't be below ₦500].
NNPCL wanted to serve DGL to Nigerians on a berbecue grill, but they quickly come out to rescue themselves from getting roasted.
The Game is the game - some big men in Oil Industry ain't happy with Dangote Refinery cos one man's food is another man's poison.
Nigeria will be great and soon by God's willing. I doubt there will be any significant difference in price even with the Naira to naira transaction. You can't be complaining of fuel subsidy and then subsidise dollar/crude to Dangote. What they will end up doing is replacing one subsidy with another. Fingers crossed all the same. If they find a way to sell it a little higher than 500, that will be great. I just don't see it happening. |

Omoapena: Are you saying if inflation keeps going up, the apps company shouldn't increase price cox they might experience low patronage?
Seems you don't know the importance of transportation, even if this apps increases the price by 50% today, people will still patronize cox transportation is essential in the society.
I understand there will be a slight dip in patronage, but in the end, people will adjust coz they have to move. And for the fact we offer safety and not just comfort, they have no choice... Water, food and life saving medicine are examples of products that have perfectly inelastic demand. They have no alternatives. Transportation isn't and ehailing certainly is not. Even though transportation is essential, the number of trips people take reduces as the price increases. They also consider alternatives which includes walking. When I renewed my license and was asked to come pick it up, I waited till I had something else to do around that area and used one stone for two birds. Don't let anyone deceive you, pearl19 is absolutely right. Take us back to the days of 1.5m Tokunbo Corolla and see if you'll get one trip in 30 minutes at current prices. |

Omo I smell lies. If this is true, why are they the only off takers? They like us so much that they are paying less than N50 differential for us? Why not just allow marketers buy at 898 and sell? What's the difference between 898 and the 855 they currently sell? |

Barbiturate: Dangote sells to NNPC @ 766/ltr. Fuel go enter 900/1000 766 with NNPC being the only off taker makes no sense since it's lower than current pump price. If that were the case, any marketer can buy and sell. Vanguard is reporting 960/980 with NNPC subsidising it to current 855-870 depending on location. That looks more like it. |

BlueRayDick: Maybe because they know Rivers people are already used to buying expensive fuel even when things still Dey considerably lower.
From Itsrm and Elder’s testimony it appears Rivers people are so used to buying fuel higher than people in Lagos and Abuja. Cos I don’t really understand why people over there have never really made noise about the cost of fuel per liter in that area over time . Rivers normally should be amongst states that should be buying fuel cheapest sef People keep adjusting and adjusting. Cars are parked at home, those who can afford public transport are using it and those who can't are trekking. To give you an example, there was something we couldn't finish at work yesterday and we were meant to come today to finish up. Everyone decided to stay back because they don't have fuel to waste today. We left the office few minutes before 10pm. You may not understand the sacrifice as a lagosian since you guys literally sleep in the office to beat traffic All I need now is to have at least one CNG station in PH. Even if the cost of conversion is 2m, I will pay without thinking twice. This fuel price is killing. |

He has a strong argument if you ask me He's playing the media game. Some of those arrested by the police shot at Phillip Shaibu when he came back to Edo State after his victory in court. They even killed a policeman attached to the APC candidate. In this Edo state politics, there are no saints. |

He even called out the IGP and said they don’t have any confidence that the police will protect them.
Omo! People residing in or have relatives residing in Edo state should stay safe o.
Cc: Theflint1 I watched the video. What surprised me was seeing a lawless man like Obaseki talking about the rule of law and democracy. This is the same man who imposed his candidate on the party and conducted a rigged primary election, refused to swear in elected HOA members, removed his deputy governor from office and is notorious for not obeying court judgments one of which returned Phillip as deputy governor.
