It's a candidate that challenging that needs every exposure and hopes to land punches or hope the favorite slips

I think it's more the former than the latter though. Politicians who are certain of victory hardly attend debates. It's just a waste of time as far as they are concerned. Personally I believe people are over-amplifying the whole issue sef . I bought something worth 600 this evening with a new 1000 naira notes and the seller gave me 4 100 naira notes as change. She didn’t have problem with me since I paid with new notes and I didn’t have problem with her since she gave me change in 100 naira denomination which is not affected by the redesign . Exactly. Nothing concern groundnut seller with POS |

So person go use about 28 million buy one truck (33,000 litres), then gain 660,000?
Hmmmmm[/color] They may be lying. Most of them buy bunkered Diesel at a cheaper rate and mix with the original to make more profit |

GloriousGbola: Diesel, gas and kerosene are fully deregulated. So anyone can bring them in. Petrol is subsidized so nnpc is bringing it in. And it is being diverted to neighbouring countries which is why we have scarcity.
This is how it used to work. You have a station in lagos. You pay the depot for your allocation, say 3m. The truck is dispatched. You get a call. We are sending the truck elsewhere. Your money after sales should be 4m.take 5m. The truck is now moved somewhere where the fuel will sell for 6 or 7m. You make your money, but the supply chain is fked up. That is the root of the pms scarcity. All this nonsense raiding stations for selling in Jerry cans is aboki eye service. They know the deal. Or they pay the 6m and sell to us at 350/l Interesting |

GloriousGbola: It is everywhere. Also in lagos. Poor regulation by dpr means you can quickly hammer, especially if you are an independent. Build a station at a fraction of the cost of the majors (by ignoring all safety standards) rig your pumps to 1 litre and you are good to go. I was once at a gas station a friend was building. He invited government officials (not sure if it was DPR) for inspection and I saw him giving them fat envelops when the "inspection" was over. Of course the "inspection" was a success. That I believe is the same thing that happens with filling stations. It does seem to me that the best government agencies to work are those in charge of regulation. NERC, CBN, DPR and several others. |

BlueRayDick: This has always been my position on the issue . Allow people deposit their old notes , give them a certain percentage of it as cash withdrawal over the counter and deposit the rest in their account .
If almost everybody is going cashless , there won’t be need for excess cash in the system . It’s that excess cash people use to pay ransom, terrorist buy more arms and the country keeps getting more and more harder security wise. I agree with you but this may make an already bad situation worse in the short term. It won't make kidnappers stop demanding for ransom. Only this time, people won't have money to pay them which will make them go on a killing spree. By the time they kill a hundred people because they couldn't get ransom, kidnapping should start reducing. |

This ongoing discussion reminds me of customs when they came with their evaluation rubbish.
They said all vehicles coming into the country will be cleared electronically with very little physical work thereby eliminating the need to bribe custom officials to get reduced valuation. Good initiative abi? So we thought.
In reality, what this useless people did was to publish a list of a few cars you can only clear electronically and left out a lot of other cars.
If you bring in any of the other cars not on their list, you have to still bribe customs officials for reduced valuation. The official valuation you'll be given will be so ridiculous that no one will tell you before you go and pay 50-100k bribe.
These guys have been clearing vehicles for ages. They have a database of all vehicles you can possibly import. Even websites that sell car parts have a comprehensive database of almost any car you want but a whole Nigeria customs does not have. |

BlueRayDick: I'm not surprised about Buhari's hard stand on this currency issue ; Buhari has been known not to listen to anybody. I'm thinking just maybe if the late Abba Kyari was still around , just maybe Buhari would’ve taken wiser decisions and posture in public issues post COVID-19. It appears the man was the glue holding his government together , preventing DSS from going after CBN governor , making sure different government agencies at each other’s throat while the president sits arm akimbo.
Most of us had seen Buhari’s incompetence since his first term . When they say Buhari has taken us 50 years backwards some people think showing us new train coaches , second Niger bridge , rice pyramid etc can disprove his incompetence. Now it’s staring us in the face.
Personally I support the CBN policy , but I will be selfish if I say CBN has been up and doing to ensure people get their old notes exchanged for new ones . Perhaps there’s a friction between CBN and commercial banks hence why people couldn’t get their old notes exchanged for new ones for 3 whole months . Whatever happens , I know for sure Nigerians will adjust . CBN is now saying you are not meant to exchange your old notes for new notes. You are meant to deposit your old notes and go cashless That is why they are deliberately restricting the money in circulation. |

BlueRayDick: You mean an app that will be capable of transferring cash to different recepients all at once? If that's what u mean, it just takes one politician to start it by contracting a young developer to design something like that and more politicians will key into it. I will actually advise such developers to charge one lump sum for the developing and then hand it over to them ( Instant gratification over delayed gratification). This is because the politicians might abandon the app midway if dynamics change and they developer won't be able to get his 50 naira per transaction if nobody uses the app. However with the lump sum already collected as contract fee, he's unconcerned whether they use or abandon the app.
As regards the cash redesign, it's obvious more and more people will have no choice but embrace the whole cashless policy Las Las Banks already have an application like this. It's what small firms use to pay salaries. They don't have to take their salary schedule to the bank and don't have to do it one by one from the normal mobile app. |

so i had this eraser that could erase biro ink very very finely. one of those things my dad was always buying back then. so someone borrowed it from me. i did not know at the time, but they had gotten the key to the course advisers office and were adjusting peoples GP in the master schedule
but the problem as is usual with these things is that rather than
1) limit it to a small subset of people 2) engage in careful score manipulation
they went all out. People with pass were elevated to 2.1. Obvious people. People who stood out in the lecturers gaze. of course the whole scheme fell apart. and the course advisers responded with a vengeance. that year everyone caught cheating in exams was expelled - after we had graduated.
