owobokiri: Wike is the main the reason why The PDP threw open their presidential race and didn't zone it to the South East, thereby truncating the chance of any southern politician flying the presidential flag of the PDP at the polls next year. The northerners in PDP knew all along that he was angling to be president. So they suggested that the thing be zoned to the South East. Wike refused. He was aware that it will get to that all along so he was indirectly attacking the South East for no justifiable reasons. He wanted The PDP to rather zone it to the whole South. That would have removed Atiku Abubakar from the race and would have made him the frontrunner since he has already used Rivers State Oil money to buy up most delegates and governors.
Aware of his intransigence, the South East politicians started kicking against the blanket zoning to the South. This was where the likes of Olisah Metuh and co started having issues with the PDP. Rather than allow the South East to get the ticket for the whole South, Wike voted for an open primaries that will involve the North. The North saw their chance and threw their whole weight behind Atiku. The rest is history. . Now, aware that his wayward ambition has torpedoed the chances of the South to produce a president from The PDP, Wike started his tantrums and media drama to make it look like he is fighting for the South, when it was the same Wike who made it look like the South begins and ends with him in the PDP. No wonder Buhari is now giving him National awards for all he has done for the North. How do you manage to sit down to compose this load of crap and lies? Does it make you sleep better at night? Can you bring any evidence that Wike voted for an open primaries? While at it, bring your evidence that PDP wanted to Zone presidency to the South East. I'm waiting |

My friend travelled to Port Harcourt on Tuesday. It was supposed to be Monday, but because vehicles can't pass the Niger bridge until evening, he shifted it till 4pm.
PS: They usually don't pass Onitsha to PH, but because of the floods, everybody has gone back to Onitsha/Owerri Expressway

Donjazet2: I beg to differ. Both of them failed. It's just a matter to which degree.
It's also important to note that many people still see Jonathan as a very good man, one who failed because of that "party structure of criminality". The same thing that a tinubu will definitely face.
For instance, we've seen the very best of APC in the past 7 years ( including tinubu godson's) and they were all monumental failures.
From fashola, the minister of darkness, to aregbe to ngige to pantami to abike dabiri and the rest. Do you think that a tinubu cabinet would comprise of different individuals? Are these not the same people who would simply continue from where they stopped??
What do you think changes with another APC administration? Not to sound like I'm campaigning for APC, what changes is the leadership. Peter Obi is on record as saying the major problem we face as a nation is that of leadership. Buhari tolerates and even encourages failure, another may not be afraid to step on toes to get results. |

I have used them for similar transfer before and it was seamless though the time might be different and the amount would definitely be different. The amount I sent was under $100k I think his main problem is with the rate. Baba wants to squeeze as much naira from every pound as possible Using standard chartered will mean using the CBNs official rate |

A40: In a sane climate we would not be arguing if APC would lose it would be by what margin. I seem to have a slightly different view on this. I believe that two people can come from the same party, one will do well and the other will be a disaster. Obasanjo and Jonathan are clear examples at the national level. At the state level, several examples abound. |

BlueRayDick: According to sources on this thread, PDP showed Tompolo and other Niger Delta Militants the map to all our oil facilities and APC has been unable to catch the vandals for 7 years. That is why our oil revenue is reducing on a daily basis .
PDP is to blame for our depleting oil revenue.
Jonathan dey inside canoe dey paddle inside his compound and blame still reach am from this thread It's a shame. Is it not better to just campaign for BAT on his own merits than try to explain away or rationalise the failure of the current APC government? These days, guys no dey even marry again. Where is the money? The few who have the money will prefer to japa with it seeking for a better life rather than staying back and getting married. |

Oasisx being pummeled left right and centre APC government is so difficult to defend. By the way, I read somewhere maybe on this same thread that the Angolan currency has been doing extremely well against the dollar because of the oil boom. First the excuse was that PDP had 16 years of oil boom. Now that APC is experiencing the same oil boom,we are hearing other excuses like oil theft and how other countries are experiencing the same issue. Excuses upon excuses. |

They are all part of Tinubus legacy I don't see a way back for Wike at the National level for now His best option is to tow the BAT line. Install his loyalist as Governors and state HOA members, reap dividends at the state level and hope that sometime in the future, his sins would have been forgiven then he can try again at the national level. |

Equipment is bought in foreign currencies, licenses are renewed in dollars, security patches are bought in dollars, some of their contractors are paid in foreign curencies and most importantly, they buy bandwidth from Orange International Carriers(I believe) in dollars. |

ogmask: I live in Portharcourt and I can tell you that 80% of the flyovers are useless. This particular one is the most useless among them. It leads to nowhere other than his wike's father's church. If you look at the picture very well you'd notice something else other than the irrelevance of the bridge on that spot. The flyover is like an elephant seating on a borrow lane. He merely used the flyover to chase out the Igbo traders at Ikoku to have the way for one of his numerous supermarkets in that area. Imagine having 8 flyovers on a straight road of not more than 10km. The traffic is still very much in Portharcourt because pple don't live on the flyovers, they will branch off to the minor roads at some point and this is where the real traffic is. Udom, umahi and sanwo Olu are miles apart when it comes to pple oriented projects. Even ganduje's flyover is much more strategic and purposeful than all of Wike's bridges. If you're moving about with your leg or public transport (which is not a bad thing) you may not appreciate the flyovers. I moved from Zenith bank Rumuola road to tank junction in 8 minutes. That journey would have taken 30-45 minutes in the past. I would have used more fuel, put more wear and tear on the engine and spent productive time on the road You say having 8 flyovers on Aba road is useless. My brother you are very wrong. Look at what is happening at First bank Junction along the same Aba road. The hold up sometimes starts from that junction down to Rivers state government ICT centre opposite pleasure Park. This is because the volume of vehicles coming from Rumuola and the Volume coming from Artillery is too much for that junction. If he had constructed another flyover there, you would have thought it was useless. However, it would have prevented the gridlock sometimes experienced at that place. Hopefully the incoming governor will put another one there. Now let's talk of people oriented projects. Is the law school a people oriented project? How about the campuses of Rivers state University he built in remote areas to bring developments to those places? The Dr. ODILI cancer center nko? Is it people oriented? You see if you remove your bias, you can easily see that Wike has done tremendously well. |

The worst is that the flyovers are just a waste of resources. Those are the least of things thT ph needs right now Senseless post. If this is true, why did he flag off more after he already lost the presidential primaries. Ask those who live in the City to tell you the impact of the flyovers |

Originalsly: Just curious ... to anyone who knows that area..... from the photo the heavy traffic is going from left to right .... west to east... but the flyover is from south to north... with very light traffic. How would this flyover really help? .... because I can't see how it will reduce the west to east traffic. Can you explain? It will make more sense with the expansion of Iloabuchi Road. People going into Agip or Eagle Island can use that route decongesting GRA, Sanni Abacha and environ. |
