MyVILLAGEpeople: Nope. But he came bragging on IG and I saw it here. It even got to front page, just can’t remember his handle. I asked because such bragging sound staged. How does anyone know he is actually a relative and that he is close to the accused family? He may be an impostor for all we know. |

MyVILLAGEpeople: I remembered when this boy death happened and one of the relatives of the culprits was bragging on Instagram that their Parents are highly connected both within government and the judiciary, that nothing will come out of the case. Besides he further went on to say, Sylvester was a rude kid and deserved what happened to him. I think that’s playing out now. Do you personally know the relative? |

Again Lagos state did not accept defeat, they went ahead to cause division amongst the association and aided a fall out faction to get a Lagos State Judge loyal to Lagos state Justice Adebiyi to set aside a writ of execution granted by the chief Judge. Another petition was written against Justice Adebiyi, but on the day she was to attend to her petition at NJC in Abuja, she cried her heart out that she was about to lose her job and through the intervention of Mr. Olanipekun SAN lawyer to the association, then the petition was withdrawn and her job was saved. See how a corrupt judge was saved from punishment through the backdoor. We have a long way to go. |

Even their other children is not safe. |

Please understand English, don't just type because you want to defend your criminal politician allies...the money is for the people's welfare and for infrastructure not politician's You are so smart! Corruption is why states which spend majority of its $500 million dollar a year earnings cannot afford billion dollar projects. We have a lot of dull people like you in government and as activists who don't understand basic economics. They shocked when they end up in government and can't find the huge money that is supposedly missing. I would have recommended an economics book for you but you won't understand the content. Get a copy of your state's budget, it might not be too complicated for you to understand where allocations end up. |

How would you explain Abacha looting the Nation dry just to save the Money in swizz Banks and other Banks? Are you saying that we dont have people that are this exposed? then why do they run to these advanced countries to enjoy these amenities? How does the Nigerian government make money? When you understand that question, you would realise how your point is invalid. |

nairaman66: Wrong! In china, when a public office holder steals money, the punishment is death!!
In Nigeria, when you steal money, you go into hiding for some time and you get rewarded another appointment!
If death penalty is introduced in Nigeria, money meant for projects will be duly utilized! Nigeria is a poor country accept the fact. There is a reason that all Buhari's big project are funded with borrowed funds. |

mediainc: True...moral of the story, blame your state governors and local government chairman, this is what FG shared to them last year September only, one month. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2021/10/fg-states-lgs-share-n740bn-revenue/amp/
The President primary responsibility is security and federal infrastructure across the country, the states are supposed to support and impact their people, with all these money, but the governors are driving big big cars, and private jets up and down. Focus on your governors, not Buhari...your money is with your state government. You are not different from those blaming the president. It is neither the governor not the president's job to develop high rise buildings or any kind of building you guys like to hype. The big money FG supposedly shared to the 36 states can't do much even if we ignore salary payment. BTW, states are supposed to fund themselves first but reverse is the case here. |

Elsueno: There was a time Nigeria had soo much money, the government didn't even know what to do with it...so they decided to share it to the populace....I assure u, this is a true story, when I was told. I kept wondering how incompetent the leadership of the country was at that time... How could u have no idea what to do with money? The story is not true. Having extra money after paying salary is never a sign of wealth but some people think otherwise. At no time has Nigeria ever been among wealthy nations. |

Plantiff: In the West like the United States and Europe, or East Asia like China , Japan and South Korea, their citizens are responsible for development
In the Middle East, particularly gulf countries like UAE, Bahrain etc, their government is responsible for development. The major businesses and assets are government owned. Almost all natives of Dubai and Qatar fast in their homes for complete 30 days during Ramadan. Islamic education has priority over scientific education. The Gulf countries are wealthy because their oil Wells are more than their indigenous citizens (UAE, for example, has less than 10 million citizens but more than 5 times the oil reserve available in Nigeria). Let's face it, these are countries where half of their citizens ( female citizens) added nothing to their economy until this past decade when they were even permitted to drive their cars. Do you know that European women dominate even non-scientific jobs like Cabin crew (air hostesses) in Qatar and Emirates Airlines? Saudi women, for instance, were permitted to take air hostess jobs just last year for the first time.
It's not like their indigenous architects or engineers designed or constructed any of those high-rise buildings. For instance, every single facility that would be used in Qatar 2022 (FIFA World Cup) was constructed by American or European corporations. They were able to bid for the world cup and renovate their stadia because of oil money.
Nigeria on the other hand is a very poor country with rich citizens (The total assets of the top 20 richest people in the country is more than the dollar reserve of Nigeria). The oil Nigeria has can only fund the Niger Delta, where it is found, to be like the developing Arab world. It can't even fund 20 million people talkless of the 200 million+ population of unproductive Nigerians.
I agree with you that for Nigeria to grow the country must depend on human resources (its citizens) because it doesn't have more natural resources than human resources like the Gulf countries have. Good points. It only make sense to compare Nigeria with countries with similar setup. Rich Arab nations usually have rich resources combined with lower population. Despite this, many Arab countries are rapidly reinvesting and re-organizing their welfare societies because of the threats posed by renewable and clean energy to their economy. There is also silent discontent because of youth unemployment despite the the Arab government largesse. We must reeducate Nigerians on the actual state of the nations economy and the way forward. Most Nigerians believe if not for corruption, the government is so rich that citizens don't even need to work to live a comfortable life. If you raise these points, emotions will flare up and you will get accused of benefiting from governmental corruption. |

They should also demand additional millions as compensations for decade of abuse and intimidation from corrupt government officials.

The fact is that sanwo is a weakling as expected due to party and godfatherism syndrome...
Wike is not in APC and so he can disregard and go against any unlawfulness by the APC government just like Fayose did because he wasn't in APC too The DSS were on an illegal operation. That is the difference. If they had a legal warrant, Fayose would be arrested along with the target. The constitution is free, download one and read. |

Although, the governor did not sound assertive enough in my opinion. You mean forceful enough. I have always believed that Nigerians are in love with illegality as long as it favors them or their friends. |
