GDP doesnt tell the full story. USA has a higher GDP than China but their debts is in the trillions of dollars and they still borrow from China.

China has a debt of 33 trillion dollars compared to US's 23 trillion dollars.
Debt is not a bad thing if it is expended on capital projects with a positive
