Well, ivory, you may as well hand it over, after requesting cost estimates, of course.
I suggest you also keep the electronic upgrades as secondary until more mechanical restoration/ refurbishment/ recovery/ repair/ rejuvenation/ remediation...is carried out.

Here's another example. 2010 BMW 325i. Car was at another dealership and wouldn't start. Of course you know what their solution was. Turns out after taking it apart it was just a camshaft bolt that broke in the head. No new engine required.

UPDATE: THE SAGA CONTINUES
so the bolt was as a result of a thirsty seized camshaft. SO... camshaft had to go!

The BMW is fine now.. !

We used to travel to the village every Christmas and this faithful Christmas, one of my cousins fond an Ube (pear) tree and picked out a few really large Ube (pear) fruits. We shared the fruits an on the way we ran into one of the babes that liked him and she somehow found out we had gone in search of Ube (pear)fruits. She asked him for a few but he told her he had eaten all of them but before we could blink she had grabbed his erection, thinking it was a pear (ube) fruit. She grabbed it, and held unto it for dear life! My guy begged and begged, in all the languages he knew and even a few strange ones..i thought I'd die of laughter grin grin

Sorry to say that you sound totaly clueless, you have no previous expirience driving at night, you have not technical analyses to address this issues, you are completely off,

The first thing first, you have no information on my kind of headlamp and you just jumped into conclution that i was at fault, ,

If the car didnt park at the speed lane slop, the will be no casualties or damage to my car,

You have no previous knoledge about road sign, at this point i am sure you are not a driver, cos your daftness conclution is not illogical,

As the matter of fact road safety and police investigation came on board place a c caution at the scene to prevent more acidrnt from taking place, the person whoms car was in the middle of the road was a friend to a senior barister,

If i had colide with that car parked at the midfle of the road, the chances of me and five life suvival will be 5 %

Before i go, did you know anything about car? Driving at 80 to 90 at 8 :30pm?

Did you know anyrhing about headlamp and the best grades?

Did you know the penalty of leaving your faulty car in the middle of the speed lane without c caution placed 20 mitres distance before your car?

Have you ever by your skill or driving make a gorgement at a critical moment that either save or tale life?

If no, you have no audacity to vomit any rubish you excreted over this place,

I needed inteligent advice onnchoice to make not display of illitracy andvfoolishness

Oh my, I'm just seeing this. Oga, there's really no need for you to insult anyone. If the driver of the other car had left their hazards on, then you should have avoided the accident, unless you were driving at a high speed or you were following the Toyota Venza really close. You may try your luck and see if the owner will pity you and offset some of your expenses, but remember if you HIT him from behind, you're at fault already. You came here to seek advise and I advise you take all opinions with humility. Goodluck

I'm not seeing where the other driver defaulted

He didn't place any warning sign for other road users to warn them of a breakdown so he caused an obstruction which resulted in a crash. His car will be impounded and perhaps he may pay for the damages..may..

I’m in Nigeria at least four months of the year. Thankfully I don’t sample the legal system.

There’s a prudent amount of time necessary between a breakdown and getting the c caution out.

C caution or not, an attentive driver should be able to avoid a broken down vehicle. The Venza ahead of him did.

I'm actually almost completely in agreement with you..Abuja is a dangerous city to live in due to it's many untrained drivers..my point is that the man may be able to get the defaulting driver to pay him

1) Apparently your headlights were into bright enough.

2) You are following too closely just like a typical Nigerian driver. The Venza in front blocked your forward vision and you were just following along.

3) The value of the stationary vehicle has nothing to do with appropriating fault.

4) This accident is your fault. The other vehicle had a breakdown, he didn't plan to break down in the middle of the road.

If I were him and if you brought any suit then I would defend it and ask for a jury trial. Let average citizens of cosset judge the circumstance. Others avoided the stationary vehicle but you didn't. Why? Did the police perform an DUI test on you?

grin grin ..when last were you in Nigeria? We don't have jury system here..the car that broke down should have placed a c-caution to alert drivers but Abuja drivers are the most dangerous in Nigeria, and perhaps the whole of Africa. Unfortunately, I'm not sure any of the cars involved has comprehensive insurance.. I advise the op to cash out on the other driver's 3rd party insurance, if it is genuine, then settle with the other driver if the insurance pay out isn't sufficient to fix or replace the car

In the new year, we are considering the following programs and would like your thoughts:

1) routine maintenance and basic car care class for women only. Will most likely be one hour mini-courses on Saturdays for women to learn basic things to take care of on their cars to avoid problems.

2) youth program. These will be most likely be semester long programs for children ages 10-17 to come and learn about cars.

All classes will be free.

Great idea. The youth program will be awesome, the women classes will be great as well though our ladies appear not to be interested in acquiring such knowledge but who knows, you may be the one to turn things around. My only advise is that you make sure lady techies takes are part of your training team so the ladies-in-training will see that its not impossible for them to practise smiley

1) I recognize your feeble attempt to censor me.

I requested nor desire no one to speak well of me. I’ll rather be hated for being righteous than be loved for being ungodly. I will conduct myself as I see fit as long as I maneuver within the TOS of the site.

2) The level of rust on this sample dictates that a body off the frame is required. At least if you’re going to promote what you’re going to do a restore. Remove the word restore and use refurbish instead. But na Naija we dey sha, the land of putting lipstick on a pig.

3) If you don’t want to be critiqued then don’t come on social media with braggadociossness grin

You will be called out on your claims.

Many on here are doing closet restorations with zero noise or fanfare.

I still say that you set an unrealistic goal. The way to shut me the F up is to walk your talk. You won’t shut me up anyway else.

I’ll continue to be on this thread and commenting appropriately. Talking cars and not characters grin

Thankfully none of this bother you wink
Well spoken. I actually didn't bring it here to brag and I do appreciate your critique and you're entitled to your opinion and I, mine. As per all else, let's see how it goes. Your comments/concerns/critiques are duely noted.

Pretty much any street car, 0.5 hours (N2,500) for oil change.

Suspension system inspection 0.8 hours

General diagnosis (should include visual suspension check) but generally 0.5-1 hour

NOTE: diagnoses are free with repair with us.
Alright, thanks.

A true restore is taking the body off of the chassis. Stripping the chassis bare, getting it dipped and then painted and then assemble with new fasteners grin

For inch of rust visible, there is 3 more inches hidden.
You do have a point but I don't quite agree with the bolded as I have seen defenders done by big brands in the UK that were not done that way yet were sold for thousands of british pounds. You can do a nut and bolt rebuild without lifting the body off the chassis. The state of the chassis determines whether you need to strip it or not. When we get to that point we will take the best route. You will do well to keep the thought of the project not being carried out to yourself, it doesn't speak well of a great guy like yourself, not that it bothers me smiley

the vehicle has serious electrical issues, like windows, headlamp etc. Now the bone of contention is the engine is same as golf 4, that aluminium engine doesn't like an iota of abuse, if the engine electrical has been worked on, I advice you don't pay much for it cause reversal most times isn't feasible.

The diesel version would be great just most diesel for sale are tokunbo. you are a car enthusiast but budget like 100-150k for confirm repair of the car

So i have been making inquiries and comparing notes. Here are my findings:
1)Grimaldi is the only shipping line that sails directly from the Uk to Nigeria. Provision of truck to load container for stuffing vehicle outside the Ports premises. (2)Cost of processing, larshing vehicle in rhe container and Agency charge. (3) Freight rate to be given to us by the shipping Company shortly. Port of discharge,Tilbury Port, UK. 4)Duty on the upgrades, this will be calculated after the work has been concluded on the said car. (5)The consignee will provide cost of transportation of trucking.

The aim of shipping the landy to the UK is to save costs, that aim is defeated. We won't be exporting this landy. A seasoned enthusiast has agreed to collaborate with my team on this project.
