The Yoruba Self Determination Advancement Forum has said the group will liase with other ethnic nationalities in Lagos State to rescue the state from what it described as Asiwaju Bola Tinubu hegemony ahead of the 2019 elections.

The forum’s convener, Kunle Adesokan, said this at an event in Lagos on Wednesday where the group endorsed the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Mr Jimi Agbaje.





Adesokan said the forum, a coalition of over 60 self-determination groups, would liase with other ethnic groups and all categories of people in the state to convince them to vote for Agbaje and put an end to the dominance of Tinubu in Lagos politics.



He said the people of the state had been pauparised in the name of urban renewal while businesses had been paralysed for almost 20 years because of just one man.





Adesokan, who said the people of the state had high hope in 1999 when the nation returned to democracy, regretted that the hope had given way to disillusionment because the state was brought under the bondage of an individual.



He said, “Our concern, simply put is that the 2019 governorship election in Lagos State offers a golden opportunity for the actualisation of the rescue mission towards popular democratic inclusion and good governance.



“Consequently, we have made conscious and dispassionate observation of the activities, posturing and pronouncements of all governorship candidates of various parties including the ruling All Progressives Congress and have decided to publicly adopt the aspiration of Mr Olujimi Kolawole Agbaje as the right and proper candidate that should be supported in the 2019 governorship poll in Lagos State.



“We are irrevocably committed to taking the message of hope which Mr Jimi Agbaje represents to the electorate who, for close to decades, have been desirous of freedom from the political hegemony of one man.”



The forum’s Secretary, Kola Are, said Tinubu had been the one ruling the state since the days of the Alliance for Democracy to the APC and not his party, saying that was why he had been installing and removing governors.



Are said, “This rescue mission is not for us alone. Lagos is under bondage of one man and not a political party but it is going to be a fight between Lagosians and Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is being represented by Sanwo-Olu.



“We have the mechanism to liase with other ethnic nationalities to join hands with us to rescue the state and we will achieve this.”

Are alleged that Agbaje won the governorship election held in 2015 but that the result was manipulated in favour of the then APC candidate, Mr Akinwumi Ambode.



He, however, said such manipulation would not be allowed in 2019 while urging the people of the state to support Agbaje.

(1.) Politicians who still bleeds this country dry
(2.) the few greedy businessmen who enjoys political support in exploiting the masses.
(3.) Majority of northerners who have not tasted life outside their zone or country

Please don't hogwash me with Let's Build Nigeria Bullshit, if the embassies could open their doors and 80 percent of Nigerians can afford the necessary fees and tickets, we would definitely flood other countries where things work...

Its beats my imagination that as a people, we still clamour for buhari, a serial failure, someone who failed in the 80's, was repackaged again and sold to the Nigerian people and he's still failing.

Now we clamour for atiku, tho a successful business man but have the weight of corruption hanging on his shoulders, we keep recycling politicians who keep riding on your intelligence and get away with it, but if you catch that bike thief, you set him ablaze, why don't Nigerians think of voting based on parameters and antecedents instead of sentiments.

Truth is I wish every Nigeria to escape Nigeria as soon as you can, but make sure its a legit way and you are going for a legit hussle

The reason is very simple: Zero regulation.

Let me explain a bit.
I've lived in a few oversea countries. In those places where domestic cooking gas isn't piped into residential houses from a central mains, there is a regulated supply of filled gas tanks/cylinders of various sizes. The gas peddler brings a filled and sealed tank to your house, and you exchange it with your empty tank of similar size.
Now, those tanks have dates printed on them. Once the date is due, the tanks are taken to the gas company for maintenance/repair/refurbishing. They are checked for signs of rusts, leakages, or weakness. Any fault detected is worked on, standard pressure tests are then conducted to certify them OK. Next, the cylinder gets a fresh coat of paint, and a new due date is printed on it. After which, it gets released into circulation. This keeps accidental explosion to a bare minimum. Those checks are usually routinely done every 2 years on every single gas cylinder.
Now, compare that with Nigeria where a gas cylinder never gets checked even 10 or more years after continuous use! Isn't that a recipe for disaster? You buy your own tank, and no inspection work gets done on it.
Secondly, local welders are now fabricating gas tanks without the specified standard metal alloy or thickness. Then to paint it and sell it to the public....just like that!
Tell me why there won't be frequent explosions, especially now that more and more folks are switching to LPG.

Appreciate the fact that she told you the truth sha, unlike a lady I broke up with earlier this year that made me believe she was a Virgin until I finally was able to go intimate with her.
