There's no way you will talk politics or try to defend Peter Obi and you don't sound dùmb. I've always told you.

Only 2 states in Yorùbá land gave Peter Obi the entire votes that Tinubu got in the whole South-East yet we are the tribalistic ones because we stood for what we want?

How does that sound to you? Dùmb innit

PS. In context (Image attached): Out of 400k voters, only 4.7k voted for Tinubu
But out of 200k voters about 11k voted for Obi

And Yorùbás are the tribalists?
Why not take into consideration that Tinubu is from the ruling party?

Abi that one no count?

If the graduate trainee role in Schlumerger is to fill the a non-engineering role , then the History graduate has the same chance as any other person.
If it is to fill an engineering role nko?

I guess that's the part you are not paying attention to.

Anybody who excels in any field is bright, but also, there's some advantage that STEM bound students have because of the subjects they have taken

A STEM student can slot in to a non-engineering field, but it is difficult for the NON STEM student.

They both have an equal chance for a non engineering role. Switch the role, and the history student automatically is out.

The crux of the matter is ; in Nigeria if u study STEM related courses , ur chances of landing a STEM related is not high because there are few STEM related jobs out there.

Eventually u will have to drag jobs with non-STEM graduates . Trust me, if u meet people who studied non-STEM related courses to drag job, ur chances of getting the job is same as theirs . I mean the smart ones. It’s not like ur STEM degree suddenly makes u better than them in any way.

Anybody who thinks otherwise is just massaging his STEM ego. A student who graduates with 5.0 CGPA in history & international relations and another who graduates with 5.0 in Mathematics have equal chances of landing a graduate trainee role simply because they are both smart.

I suspect the job u are referring to is a contract job. That’s what those bastarrds do, they make it seem like HMO is part of ur salary ; they are cheating u.

Health insurance has been legislated in 2022. Ur employer must provide health insurance for u, it is statutory and not key of ur salary in any way.

All the jobs I’ve done none of it has made HMO part of my salary .
It is not a contact job. I was a Field technical staff for a Digital Ad company

And this was 2017 or so, not 2022

I see companies that add 13th month and leave allowance to deductibles to form tax as thieves
In the end na in and out they will do
Normally the only reason you should be removing tax from leave or 13th month is if you are paying the full salary
But if you are paying only basic or 5-10% of the annual pay them no suppose tax am
It's cheating
I don't even know what receiving a salary looks like.

The last job i did, HMO was included. And i hated hospitals

I was told i should use it, or else, i was paying for nothing.

I'm surprised to hear HMO is not part of salary

Okay I hear u. grin

I just explained to u that only 8% of ur gross pay can be deducted as pension statutorily which is N5,600 out of N70,000. after that ur tax will be deducted. There no how ur tax will be as much as N20k.

Ur Health insurance is not tied to ur salary be it gross or not. It is a stand alone.

But I know u will not agree sha.
So the free lunch there nko? Is it a stand alone too?

Lolz.grin

HMO has nothing to do with minimum wage . There’s a law (National Health Insurance Act 2022) which makes it compulsory for employers to provide health insurance for their staff.

Pension is also statutory . PENCOM act 2004 mandates ur company to arrange contributory pension scheme for their staff ; it’s only 8% of ur salary that will be deducted as its contribution out of the 70k while ur company will pay 10% from their pocket.

Lagos state government job has leave allowance and 13th month which has nothing to do with the 70k minimum wage.

The fact is that 45k is in contravention of the minimum wage bill Tinubu just signed.
HMO has everything to do with your gross salary.

Pension has everything to do with your gross salary.

70k is the least you can pay = Gross salary.

You cannot be holding on to NET, when they specifically wrote the why it would be so

Pension
Leave allowance
13th month.

When you ask why they didn't leave, you'll hear;
'It's not that simple', 'you're not a woman, you won't understand'

About 6 years ago I graced the occasion of my cousin's introduction, I say make I support my uncle with some drinks, his country home had no gate then, my 'in-law' parked at the entrance thereby blocking anyone from either driving into the house or driving out, I excused him and politely asked if I could be allowed to drive in since the house was quite a distance, if he can kindly park inside the house where there was a lot of space, his response 'Since your mama born you, you don see Benz for your village before?' Then went on to abuse the hell out of Ijebuland. I apologized to him and called some of my younger relatives to assist in packing the drinks and trekking with them on our hands and heads inside the house, my cousin came out and confronted me, fuming asking why I'm embarrassing her husband, she too went on a tirade of insults, I apologized as well and even begged them to forgive my mouth, my uncle was the last to warn me about the complaint he got from his inlaw, asking what drink was so important that I wanted to spoil his daughter's day grin I also begged for forgiveness. Fast-forward to 2 years ago, I'd been hearing about allegations of physical and verbal abuse in her marriage but was never the type to pay idle gossip any heed, I traveled for my Grandmother's memorial, after the festivities my Uncle (cousin's father) called a meeting and narrated to my dad and I how the man chased him out of his house with a machete, how his wife slept outside because she was locked out for coming late, and finally presented Ireti to us with a face that'll make any American Pumpkin proud, he asked for our advise, My father gave his own take and when it got to me, I told them I had nothing to say, excused myself, got up and left

I always shake my head when I see people being foooled by government’s propaganda knowing fully well that the propaganda will fall on its face sooner or later .

When they were about removing subsidy they claimed one of the reasons why subsidy removal is necessary is because of smuggling activities . They argued we have been subsidizing fuel consumed by our neighboring countries because they smuggle subsidized fuel across the boarder.

“Fuel subsidy is gone “ but smuggling of “unsubsidized fuel “ is still happening across the boarder .

https://www.nairaland.com/8194162/benin-republic-niger-enjoy-smuggled

Oya now, tell us one simple benefit of “subsidy removal” till date huh
They removed subsidy and floated the naira.

What that implies is that the naira became weaker, and the true price of fuel still is cheap compared to other African countries.

So, they gave the smugglers another reason to smile again.

I went to Badagry days back and saw NSCDC littering a beautiful express way with sticks, in the name of checkpoints.
