Personally I think at the end of the day criticizing religious leaders for government failings (as much as is your right) is misplaced priority.

Is Adeboye, Kumuyi, Mbaka, or the Sultan of Sokoto the President of Nigeria? Are they in charge of the Army or Police?

You might say lending powerful voices might help the situation but how far can powerful voices really go if those in charge don't do the right thing. Michelle Obama held up BBOG placard that year are they all back?

Adeboye has generally always stayed in his lane when dealing with various Presidents over the years. From Obj, to Yar Adua, Goodluck, and Buhari I can't recall Adeboye explicitly addressing them directly on any failing of their government.

You might not agree with his stance which is fair enough but criticizing him for an action which he has consistently displayed since 1999 is over the top.
I wanted to actually engage you, but your first paragraph already shows you clearly don't understand what our argument has been about.

There's no where I criticized Adeboye for failing to secure us. There is nowhere I blamed him for the insecurity in Nigeria. If you find anywhere I did so, please quote it

If this is what you understood by my posts, believe me, I don't know where to start engaging you from.

Yes, they likely know where they are. The challenge is that they cannot simply use force, because the lives of those children at risk. The priority is to secure their safe release, last last na ransome dem go pay.
Yeah. I didn't know that.

But Oyo HoA has ruled out ransom payment. I think that's a stupid move, and even publicizing it makes it worse

I have showed you what he said, I shared the link here, izzou quoted it yesterday....Check ur mentions it is still there.

You are the one who has shown us anything Adeboye said to criticize Tinubu's government.

Why are you scared of dropping link of quoting the post here ?
Adeboye personally wrote to Jonathan, not speaking at Ibafo.

He wrote that he was gathering signatures, including his own to protest the unjust killings of Nigerians

Like....He personally wrote the petition

According to a petition sent to President Goodluck Jonathan by the spiritual leader of RCCG, Adeboye, which was equally attached to the registration form that was used, yesterday .....
I wonder how you can compare this kind of action to the other. I really wish these people will speak up, honestly

Why do you and blueraydick keep insisting that the FG did not send a representative for 2 weeks
Yes the children are still in the bush because the security forces have not been able to find a way to extract the children without putting their lives at risk

I think th govt should negotiate with them, grant their demands to save the children first and can go after them later, Toda the Oyo state speaker spoke against negotiation with the terorists
Is there any proof that they know where they are currently?

I thought u will end this post with link to Adeboye's criticism of this current administration as requested by popular demand 🤷‍♂️
I saw all the defence tweets and posts yesterday defending Adeboye, and I cannot help but laugh.

There's no neutrality in the place of good and evil. Humans are killed per day in Nigeria. A Nigerian is more likely to die today, than in 2022 from terrorism and violence.

If our Religious leaders still need to be asked before they speak, or they would quietly suggest.....Then we have another problem as Christians and religious people in Nigeria

Lmao 😂.

I sense Morata is probably a member of RCCG and it doesn't sit well with him that people are calling out Adeboye to at least keep up with his reputation of using strong words to call out the government when insecurity is rife.

He knows that so called advise by Adeboye won't cut it, that's why he was shying away from posting it and just wanted to use "ògbójú" t dabaru everything till u hold am for neck grin
Adeboye called it an "Advice"

Then the part that pissed me off was "If I was asked to make suggestions, I would quietly say...."

So if they didn't ask you, you won't make suggestions? You won't speak?

I am still waiting for anybody that can share any link of Adeboye criticizing this government on insecurity. I don't even need economy or corruption.

Just insecurity. Show us where he called out this government

What happened to this version of bluntness?
What happened to calling it as it is?

And this is not just Adeboye, but every single religious leader that has a level of influence over a people

Why can't we see this again, in a time where the deaths have tripled?

"The General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who yesterday initiated the move, insisted that it was high time religious organisations raised awareness over the depreciating standard of security in the country, adding “we cannot afford to celebrate, clinking glasses and congratulating each other when a horrendous decimation of the most vulnerable is picking up a pace and our stock of human capital heading for the abyss.”

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 12:06pm On Jun 04
See the Criticism that MorataFC is very shy of posting.

Maybe it's me that don't understand the word "Criticize", or "Ultimatum"

He said, “You can only advise the commander-in-chief. You can’t command him, because if you command the commander-in-chief, then you become the commander of the commander-in-chief. That doesn’t make sense.

“But I’ve tried. And God is my witness. I don’t want to take much of your time.

“What should we do now? I’m talking to you as my children. If I were asked to make suggestions, I would say quietly to our government, move fast. And tell our security chiefs, get rid of these terrorists within 90 days, or resign
My greatest joy in these is that people are now beginning to ask for more from these religious leaders, and I am happy that even amongst his members, eye don dey clear small small
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 11:58am On Jun 04
MorataFC:
This is exactly the double standard we are talking about.
There was insecurity during Jonathan's administration, and when Pastor Adeboye petitioned Jonathan over it, that was considered criticism.
There is insecurity during Tinubu administration, and Pastor Adeboye not only raise concerns but reportedly gave the government a 90day ultimatum to address the situation. Yet suddenly, that is no longer considered criticism.
How can the same action be called criticism in one case and not criticism in another?

If publicly calling attention to insecurity and demanding action from a government is criticism under Jonathan, then the same standard should apply under Tinubu. If it is not criticism under Tinubu, then it was not criticism under Jonathan either.
Did you see anywhere I typed "Jonathan" in my quote to you?

You said Adeboye criticized this administration last year.

I have simply asked you to show me where he criticized this administration. A simple link would answer me.

I hope you know that you have quoted me twice, and deflected from answering.

I won't bother to drag this matter. You have already given us the answer to my question.

MorataFC:
😂😂😂

The funny thing is that Pastor Adeboye has already criticized this administration and raised concerns about insecurity since last year, but the media kept it away from you because it did not fit the narrative many people wanted to push.
The media gives people what they want to hear, not what they need to know.

The way and manner he criticized Jonathan over insecurity, he has also criticized Tinubu over insecurity and even issued him a 90days ultimatum to find a lasting solution to kidnapping and insurgency. That happened last year ooo, but the media kept it away from you.

Two months ago, he was advising his children on who to marry and who not to marry, and that story dominated the media space for almost a week.
Which of these issues is more important to our national interest?

So media gave you the one you wanted to hear and kept away the one you needed to know far away from you.
I'm trying to learn and free my mind of any propaganda

Kindly show us where he criticized this administration last year.

The terrorists are winning

The paranoia, fear and distrust has begun

Yesterday one of my neighbors called me to ask that I tell him if anything is about to happen because I am 'connected'

Apparently because I am a Muslim I somehow have access to information about terrorists.

Right now everyone is in panic mode seeing terrorists everywhere.

Will it take that much for my eastern neighbors to say I am a terrorist plant?

And the fact of the matter is I look at the abokis the same way.

All these okada riders, suya sellers, etc. Which of them are plants and radicalised
One thing that has aided terrorism and insecurity in Nigeria is the lack of law enforcement and slow judiciary.

Ransoms are now normal
Terrorists are caught and we don't even know if anything happens again
Repentant terrorists are absorbed into the society
The Courts take forever to determine their fate

Look at Owo massacre. After 4 years, a Federal High Court sentences them to death.

There's still the Appeal court (because they must appeal) and then the Supreme Court too. So we are looking at 2 more years to finally see the end of this matter.

Now that it has been shown that the 90 days ultimatum was not a result of any dragging and was done since last year, then what next. Does that speaking of last year he did satisfy you?
What is the 90 day ultimatum?
Did you read it?
As the service chiefs didn't resign nko, and the killings went on, what now happened?

How many times have we seen the killings in Benue, Plateau and even in the NE, and yet there was silence from the largest Pentecostal leader in Nigeria?

Omoh! I have left him to his own choice. We all know what we are doing.

Like I said, I am happy that Nigerians are now seeing it the way I see it. Very soon, this dragging will spread to all of them.

You cannot be hiding behind prayer, and find it very difficult to call out evil and incompetence when you see it.
