lin3r2: Yea I know about those set of people. I select people based on the prompting I get from within. You 100% correct though I have never had any issues with people transferring to me. Almost 7 days ago I dropped a guy at the airport and his fare was 4600 he said his banking app was giving him issues. So I told him to go that I'll send my account number to him. The next day I got an alert of 5500.
I am selective based on the voice inside prompting me. So yes may God not allow me meet people that will make me change my mind about transfers
By the way, a thought just occurred to me. Let's organize a day and get to know ourselves in person at either the beach or somewhere. I mean the guys on this forum. Those in lagos o. Like a get together. Just a thought Yeah. Sounds cool
I remember last year December 25th. I and some of my uber friends chilled at Elegushi that night. It was all fun.... Drinks, weed, and the chilling breeze
Not until a fight broke out the next morning around 3am. Na so dem burst bottle for person head. The whole beach scatter
I just jejely run enter my partner corolla, run... I later whatsapp the other guys to tell them say I dey safe |

radautoworks: I still don't understand why people need multiple... I've had one for the last four years and definitely do NOT want and/or need another way for people to reach me! Most times, it's because of the bonuses attached to first timers. For some, it's because they got blocked
I remember my guy back then. He had an appointment for some weeks in Lekki, and he stays In Yaba. Because Bolt was offering #2500 bonus on card trip for first timers, all he had to do was register a new SIM, link his card details, and....... He's on a ride to Lekki...
He did it throughout the period of those appointments.
If uber and bolt wants to protect drivers from bad riders, they should include riders photo and address or means of ID. |

thelastorca: you think people change phone numbers just like that? i will change my phone no because of uber? and what do you think all the sim card registration is about? tying your identity to a phone line. it is really not that hard. al uber has to do is collaborate with the phone companies and inisist that only registered sims are used on their platforms
to take it further, when i made my report, i had to do a full registration. email etal. al uber has to do is make some benefits available to fully registered users.
this is the message they emailed me start of this week
it is not that hard I really do not want us to argue much. I have three rider's account on Bolt. One from my stolen SIM, and the remaining two from my current Sims
The reason they insist on phone numbers is for the driver to contact you, and the email is to send you your trip receipt
I have friends who had many Sims when Taxify was dashing #2500 for first timers on card trips.
Until when they start taking the photos of riders and their addresses, all these lamba is rubbish.
Maybe you should advice Uber to COLLABORATE with telcos.... (Whatever that means) |

lin3r2: 5. I personally prefer transfer to cash payment as it makes it easy for me to save and not spend cash any how on petrol and food. Uber and Bolt have reasons for putting CASH and CARD as the only means of payment
I pray you don't meet people that will make you change your mind about transfers. |

thelastorca: in my own opinion, Nigerians are very fond of self help instead of going through the proper channels. if you were to confront the ride aggressively, on her own turf, you will immediately see a video of yourself on sm, tagged domestic violence from driver.
people's behavior is part of them. if every driver this lady treats wrongly reports via the platform, she will be tagged as a problem rider. it is that simple. All it takes to register as a rider is a phone number.
If uber blocks a rider, he just needs #200 to get new SIM, and he's back on. It never solves the problem

Once I see u have a low rating and you are a lady, I will just prepare my mind, if your tune on d phone is somehow I will either cancel without telling u or go their and ignore any insult. I've dropped a unilag girl before with plenty loads in d booth and she said oga pls help me bring my bags to d house and she went inside. I sat in d car for minutes not knowing what to do? Mrsefe: Good morning all. A card trip/ride was ordered on taxify for my grandmother . The driver took her to the location and requested for cash of 3000 claiming is the cost of the fare. He was acting to be in a hurry that my grandma couldn't call me but had to pay 3000 to him. I found out in the evening of that 29th and called him and he claimed he didnt know it was a card trip that he will refund. We had a chat too. Called him all through yesterday but he refused picking. The trip was even actually 2400. My grandma feels so bad and wants her money back. How can someone be so mean to cheat an old woman of 80+? Report him to Bolt
Also follow up with the issue on twitter. Kindly do the world a favor by casting that guy
And beg grandma not to curse him... Abeg |

tojahh: Alaye... When two people dey quarrel, na who use big insult wey go pain the other person dem dey practice. Were you expecting him to reply her
'God bless you'? I was expecting him to ignore. After all, you Don cancel..... Wetin remain?
I once picked one silly girl that was very insultive. She put Yaba as destination and asked me to pass Ago palace way(from Festac). She then later said she's going to Aswani side.
I then made a comment like "That road is bad oh". Opari
She started talking and talking how drivers are proud and all rubbish.... That if I don't want to drive, I should go home and sleep
I was just saying "Yes ma"... She got more pissed because I wasn't responding to her talks.. She continued and I was just silent. At few intervals, I'll say "Yes ma".
As she pay me, I just look her with disgust and zoomed off.... The saliva wey I go use ask God to uplift me, na him I wan waste on top person wey I no sabi?
My point? Ignore... |

Perkins1: No Izzou you're changing the narratives. The rejecting of the ride even with a genuine explanation warranted the smeering SMS and hence his response.
Now.. A MECHANIC has rejected my car because of his reason, and I sent an SMS dats y you're a MECHANIC! Now you can only reason it because you were not the one outside at 12am being dragged because you couldn't render a service you signed for. No sir, I'm not changing the narratives
The reason I jumped into this discussion is because of the insults thrown....not because of him declining
And rejecting a trip isn't wrong. Uber put the option there for a reason.
I just wished he didn't use the word PROSTITUTE. That's my point. But then, the driver has already explained to me better |

pocohantas: No, I am pissed o. I don't know the correlation between my post and his. I have condenmed rude and unsympathetic FEMALE riders in the past. Even my first post to someone here I did agree riders are a handul and look down on drivers. So, at what point did people like me think drivers have no choice?
I work in a service oriented industry too. So, I will be the very last person to look down on drivers or anyone doing a legitimate hustle. I might make some posts to troll, but aside that- I respect people's hustle. No one should give me a bad name biko. I think he misunderstood your comment (I think oh).
I don't even know what we are actually discussing now. We were talking about the insults between the rider and the driver, and now, I'm seeing REJECTING AND ACCEPTING TRIPS.

tojahh: Too much sense here.
Gazzuzz don't accept any vehicle below 2000 at his workshop. He don't even accept Honda Civic and some other specs but HE'S A MECHANIC and signed up and advertised as one.
Radautoparts had to turn down some certain repair job brought to her because she can't meet up.... BUT SHE'S A MECHANIC and signed up and advertised as one.
No time were they dragged that... That was what they signed up for... As a MECHANIC your duty is to repair cars. When you start selecting cars and turning others down because it didn't favour you for reason best known to you, then the UBER Driver has his own right to turn down trips that didn't favour him.
Let's have Cyber peace Nobody is blaming the driver for rejecting her trip.... That's not the issue
The issue was how she called him a TAXI DRIVER and he responded by calling her a PROSTITUTE

pocohantas: What rubbish is this one talking about. Living up to your username or what?
Did I at any point say a driver shouldn't choose destination?
What is my business if you people choose destinations? It is your right. If there is anything I have ever said as regards drivers and riders altercations- it is, be civil and professional about it.
Enough of this you people have never owned a car. I drive a 2015 SUV, been driving it since 2017. I know what it takes to fix a car!
So, you all should please learn to keep your emotions in check. The world isn't out to get you drivers okay? Which kind person you be sef??

emmancecute: I'm a very reasonable individual, I was online past 12am to work. This is business to me, so profitability is prioritized. The moment her request came in, I called and used ma all through my conversation even till the point I discovered the trip isn't gonna be profitable to me. I noticed the rudeness in conversation but decided to suck it up, Las Las na my money I go collect. The moment I told her the reason why I couldn't make the trip, She got even more aggravated and ended the call with a hiss. So, if I reply in same manner she did, I perfectly understand the context of her words. I totally understand. I was just concluding from what you typed earlier. But how the conversation played out matters too
But then, you shouldn't have still called her a PROSTITUTE(my opinion). You had already declined the trip. No need for that insult |

He told the lady that he can't go again, that she should cancel. She replied him saying... ...that's why you're a taxi driver.
I'm not seeing a clear relationship with the bolded here. Oh there is a very clear relationship sir.
Me: I'm sorry I can't fix your car today You: But that's why you're a mechanic
Me: I'm sorry I can't fix your leaking pipe today You: But that's why you're a plumber
I can go on and on, but I don't see the insult in that statement. And then calling her a prostitute makes the matter worse.
But then..... What do I know |
