Another example Victor Osimhen.
Last season played well in Belgium and got a transfer to Lille, Currently he is Ligue 1 top scorer
If he gets a move to a big club next thing we will be hearing is that the National team was what helped Osimhen to get the transfer
A national team can help a player move higher in his career. It may be rare, but it happens

An example is Sunday Mba

He played for our local leagues all his life. But after that AFCON in 2013, CA Bastia signed him. Definitely his performance at that tournament contributed to that.

Although it's rare, it happens

Guys I need your quick response. Woke up yesterday to user's message saying high cancellation at the airport. I envisaged that because Saturday wasn't nice at the airport with the kind of trips I was getting at night. So I found myself at the airport yesterday morning. First trip was to opebi which on a normal day I won't go after waiting for 1hr30mins before I dropped to 1-5. So I picked this man to his hotel and I told him uber drivers don't go on trips like this because it's not profiting due to the low fare.

So the man understood and said I will be taking him to landmark towers for a meeting around 10am and after the meeting back to the airport. As we they now we don they Victoria island.

So my question is ..... How much should I bill him and reasons to give for that price?
Bill him 15k. Do not go lower than 13k

Reason? I don't have any oh grin.....I just want you to have 10k net after deducting "owo ekpo"

Just follow your mind sha

I wished Tammy chose Nigeria, but that doesn't mean England was a bad choice

He weighed his chances, and saw that England would be better for him

And nobody is God to determine whether he will be a flop or not. Make we no dey wish the boy bad indirectly

Name 5 players that you know who will reject a top club and a bigger salary for any reason? Do you think football is for play? Its a career and the motivation for them is driven by financial gain

Do you know George Weah? The biggest footballer ever from African, Only African WPOTY and President of Liberia. Guess which country his son is playing for?
His son plays for the USA

If Timothy had chosen Liberia, he would have had a chance to win the AFCON, Africa's best player, BBC African player of the year, etc, all with Liberia grin

na lie abeg.
Iwobi chose nigeria instead of England. As at today, he can walk into their starting eleven whilst benching carpenters like lingard, barkley and co.

Ekong troost choose Nigeria above Holland. At least he is doing well in udinese, as at today he can tussle with likes of de ligt and co..only van dijk has edge over him In the orangemen back line.

Odenwigie choose nigeria above Uzbekistan.. he could as well stroll into Uzbekistan 11 without contest.

It's all about choice..there is nothing like going for lower when your choice fails you.
As for zizou, desaily and kanye you mentioned. I could as well mention kelving prince boateng. His brother choosed Germany while he chosed ghana. Zaha chosed ivory coast over france and England.

It's more about patriotism and choice than money and second fiddle card
Only Van Dijk has an edge over Troost Ekong in the Dutch defense? huh

Hmmmm

Nigerians and hypocrisy sha angry

The same people that have applied for American visa, Australian visa, Uk visa and even Malaysia visa ; swearing they will never come back once they make it out of here - are busy critiquing Tammy for shunning the same country they’ve always seen as representing a failed state with failed institutions( Football administration inclusive )

A Nigerian graduate that is willing to let go an accounting job here to wash plate in America or UK to survive is suddenly concerned Tammy will be sitting on bench in the English national team undecided

Abeg make una rest jor
As much as this is true, it doesn't have any relationship with the Tammy-England story

But then, like you said, make we all rest

That is my point. A person fully exposed, but still comes home and behaves like a stark illiterate. You may even find that woman does have a car.
The level of neglect by Nigerians is terrible. Some commercial buses in Lagos have ropes instead of seat belt. And the driver wants you to wear it only because of LASTMA, not because of safety

I once picked two women from MMIA when I started uber. They made several stops, but this particular one in front was always complaining that I was not using my hand brake when I parked. That's how they see safety in the abroad

We really need thorough orientation about everything in this country

It has nothing to do with having cars or not. One of the most aggravating sights i see is people with underage kids in the front seat. You will see people in range rovers with babies sitting unsecured in their front seat. My landlord, a guy who goes to America with the family every single year, will still put 5 year old in front seat. When you say this is not safe, he just shrugs.

Do not assume everyone who takes uber is doing so because they don't have cars. Sometimes people just do not want to drive to some places, because a car becomes a responsiblity you cannot abandon.
Yes, there are cases of people neglecting the use of the belts even though they have cars, but most cases are from people WHO DON'T HAVE CARS. I've experienced this many times, hence my conclusion

You Landlord who goes to America every year CAN NEVER try that over there

Most people (not all), who don't own cars, and can't drive, just sit in front and never see the use of a seatbelt. That's why there are more women than men in this category(though it has nothing to do with gender)

Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by izzou(m): 3:25pm On Oct 15, 2019
I like to wear the seat belt because of the safety it gives, not even because of LASTMA

Unfortunately, a good number of Nigerians do not care, especially those that DO NOT HAVE CARS

I don't pay attention to Afcon politics and whatever they do there.if we are to look at football politics, then football won't even be played at all as fifa is a primary problem of the game. What concerns me as a fan is what is done on the field.Nothing more

What do you want NFF to do for him?? Play him ahead of players that make bench at their various clubs?? Won't we all be calling for the head of Rohr if he does so??

Talking as if Nigeria is the only country that dumps players.England won't even remember you can sing their national anthem if you are not performing. If those that perform at their clubs don't even play na you wey no dey play.Dele Alli has dipped in form, where is he today?? Wasn't he playing against Belgium about a year ago at Russia?? Iwobi one of the worst players of Epl that was brought in and removed in the same match this season, wasn't he the one playing rubbish against Brazil?? Who benched him?? You think if he was playing for England,Southgate will remember where he kept his number??lol
You're making it look like England is really a bad choice, which is not so.

Thank you, so I will have to tell the rider that we will have to do it as offline... Or how please Sir
If the opportunity presents itself, you bring it up. Don't just say offline anyhow. You just have to be observant. I have negotiated offline for both very short and long trips, depending on how the situations builds itself grin

Example

Gets a request on a Sunday evening, around 3:30pm in Surulere. I accept
Rider: I'm going to Ojodu.
Me:Okay

Arrives at venue, and one madam enters. She was very jovial

Me: Ma, should I wait for you till after the party?
Rider: Oh, very good. I'm grateful. So how much will you charge?
Me: Ma, you know you're like a mother to me. Just bring #12k
Rider: OGAA. For what naa?
Me: Ma, it's not like that. It's just small money to you.... Blah blah blah

After all the talk talk, we agreed on 10

Went there around 4pm. Left around 5pm. She gave me 11k with many cans of Origin

*****************************

Gets a request at Landmark. Calls rider but the line is busy

Drives to Landmark, and madam cancelled. Calls her again and she picks, saying its a mistake

She comes out and sits in my car to request again. She's going to Surulere

Me: Ma, how much is the app saying?
Rider: #1700 to #1900
Me: Give me #1900 and let me take you there
Rider: (Laughs). Why not #1700? Let be at equilibrium. #1800 abeg
Me: Okay

I drive her to Surulere.
Taxify commission? NIL NIL NIL

So offline can be done in many ways. There is no defined path to it. Just look out for the opportunity

Also I negotiate offline for many reasons.

Still on the matter... As una know say I no sabi the job yet... Plz on what situations can you negotiate/try to initiate offline trips when riding with a current rider.
Mostly long trips - Maybe a trip from Awoyaya to Ota

Mostly return trips - For example, a trip from Ikeja to Lekki and back to Ikeja

Mostly trips to Useless destinations - Maybe the rider is going to Badagry, or Lafenwa, or Ibeju Lekki.
