abdsamad: Hey abdsamad, I just had to log in to appreciate such uncommon outlook to find on this site. If I may, I think you're a gem of a person in real life. Also, don't let widely bandied and often very loud so-called truisms detract you from your mature approach to life. It's tough out there for many. A little understanding goes a long way. Cheers. 1 Like |

Akerewe: Alagbaka not Agbalaka https://thenationonlineng.net/firm-floats-n4-2b-bond-to-build-ondo-power-plant/ The turbines were just delivered in December (https://independent.ng/power-ondo-ag-gov-aiyedatiwa-to-take-delivery-of-n7-8bn-worth-gas-engine/) so not yet operational. Paying coupon from financing cashflows could be a mini-Ponzi. On the other hand, the ultimate Guarantor is the Ondo State Government so there is your recourse. I believe RayRay06677 asked a similar question in September, and later confirmed the coupon is usually paid a couple of days late. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Proffdada: Likely there are. If you have mostly organic matter (food waste etc) in a bin that is unopened over a period of time, decomposition produces an accumulation of methane gas which can build up and explode when the metal bin subsequently gets heated in the sun. Or, by a fire source such as burning cigarette carelessly introduced in or near the bin. 2 Likes |

n3xt: The water tank is the 'battery' in this setup. The solar pump will fill the tank intermittently but there is always a buffer to ensure adequate water drawoff. It is incorrect advice to suggest you don't need batteries for a process that, say, requires continuous power even if during the day. Sizing the battery to the barest minimum after evaluating the business needs might be better advice. Good day. 1 Like |

Wapgod: These things are traded on the secondary market so you use the latest price to calculate the yield to maturity of the paper. Taking that price into consideration, the yield is the return (expressed on an annualized basis) you as an investor would be earning if you bought today. Hope it helps. |

twinskenny: HNY. I do like the way you're diversifying into associated services. Homeowners can 'pick and choose' what they require from you. When I recover from my disappointment over another esteemed electrical services provider from NL (who effectively 'abandoned' my job), I might be looking to introduce solar panels to the existing installation, and contact you. Quick question first: My biggest issue with retro-fitting solar panels on the roof is who takes liability for damage to the roof structure and sheets. I don't see a cherry-picker or similar machinery being used here so I take it the installers are going to be clambering all over the roof. In my view, typical Nigerian roof support stuctures do not have beefed up joists to carry all that weight of people and it is often difficult to locate the rafters for manouevering. Do you use specialists for this aspect of the job and, again, who provides the warranty against roof damage? Thanks 1 Like |

TS causes people to have “tics”. Tics are sudden twitches, movements, or sounds that people do repeatedly. People who have tics cannot stop their body from doing these things. WhiteTopaz: Yes. One of the beacons is usually identified as the reference for which these details are provided - usually in a box on the survey plan. As you know, all other beacons are determined relative to the reference beacon using the provided angles and distances, simple geometry. The number with N goes into the Y-axis and the number with E goes into the X-axis. Click <<Transform>> and the lat/lon of this reference beacon should be calculated. Further click on the map option to see it on a map. Hope it helps. Please note that I'm not a surveyor - i just happened to chase down this particular rabbit hole a while back and kept this knowledge filed away. 2 Likes |

WhiteTopaz: I chased this down a few years ago. It's almost like a closed shop of trade secrets. There are many websites that help you convert geodetic datums (which Surveyors use) to lat/lon coordinates. I found out that Nigerian surveyors use the specific Minna datum (happy to be corrected!) and this link I ended up with, should do what you want. https://epsg.io/transform#s_srs=26332&t_srs=4326&x=326432.0800000&y=1018652.7100000 You enter the input coordinates on one side and it shows the lat/lon coordinates on the other side. Even more useful, it can show you the location on a map. Hope it helps. 3 Likes 3 Shares |

From my previous limited interaction, I see even some gnarled investors here are confused by the T'bill / bond allocation process and have inadvertently passed wrong information to enquiring newbies. The link below is a 'friendly' writeup on the jargon and process (perhaps, read in conjunction with the results table above for reference) ... https://mailchi.mp/afrinvest/invest-as-low-as-n5000-in-fgn-savings-bond-earn-quarterly-income-at-11244-and-12244-october-2019-dmo-offer-634728?e=dc9601418b Good day. |

jabolo: Oh, I see now but not really works that way. When you apply for TB via bank ahead of the primary auction, their form asks what rate you will bid or whether you prefer to bid with the bank's rate. This only affects the likelihood of the bid being successful, last last you will get the CBN marginal rate if successful. In the secondary market, the Banks (or any seller) are free to quote any rate to sell to you. It's their profit margin. Good day. 1 Like |

NL1960: If you're referring to the T-bill auction process, I'm not sure this is correct but then, seeing all the recommendations perhaps I didn't understand the original question. If so, I apologize ahead. FWIW, all successful bidders get the marginal rate (rate at which the subscription is fulfilled when all bids are aggregated in ascending order). Just think... - Imagine the administrative nightmare managing different institutions' bids at different rates following each auction; - Quoted yields in the secondary market would have no meaning if the same instrument had different interest rates for different bidders... Etc Good Day. |

Davidebun016: Welcome to the forum. For this size of investment, you needed an Electrical Engineer (not an Electrician) to design the installation. The M&E drawings ought to have been stamped and approved alongside the other building architectural drawings. In a sane society, those drawings enter a repository that distribution companies use to plan for area demand growth and thereby avoid the frequent transformer/feeder overloads we have. - If you don't know the size and distribution of the load, how have you sized your various cables and switchgear within the installation? - How has the load been distributed across the various phases since you're likely going to need a 3 phase supply? Anyway sha, based on the limited information above >> back-of-the-envelope calculation (while drinking and chillin' on a lazy Sunday evening so bear with me if any errors) ... AC loads: 23 x 1.5hp = 34.5hp = 26KW LED Recess: 12W x 76 = 0.92KW or 1KW approx LED light panels: (assume 25w each) x 52 = 1.3KW Cookers: (assume 2.5KW each) x 2 = 5KW Water heaters: (assume 2KW each) x 3 = 6KW Sockets: Assume 2 rings in each office and each apartment, so 8 rings in total @ 1KW per ring (assume some usage redundancy) = 8KW Estimated total = 47KW Suggest you need a 60KVA (or slightly bigger for future contingency) 3-phase transformer. The distco might likely step it down from 11KV. Good day. 7 Likes |
