Why not just charge me for the robot and allow me use it in my own regulated broker? Why do I have to deposit money in the shitty crooked broker? Why are they guaranteeing a return of 45% ? The last time I checked, even George Soros make loses, and your shitty bot doesn't make any loss...lol. The mumu scam is targeted at non-traders and it's working. Even in my sleep, I can't fall for this scam.
It's an MLM play. No trading.

That's why the OP (and others) are pushing this hard. They're not interested in the 'trading' angle which has been debunked as a likely scam.

Some of the money collected is promised to doled out as affiliate fees before they disappear.

The benchmark for a 10 year FGN bond in the secondary market is 12.6%. It will be more than that in the primary market
Understandable.

As at the time of the data you show, the Sukuk was already announced at 12.8% coupon so it's only correct that comparables (or near comparables) on the secondary market are immediately priced to offer matching yields.

Did you consider the tenors and timing of the bonds.
The guy specifically referenced MTN 10 year bonds.

It's weird economics not to have at least 100bps delta between similar tenored national and corporate bonds.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by jabolo(m): 1:43pm On Dec 28, 2021
freeman67:
You are not considering the prevailing Bond Market rates... MTN Nigeria issued a 10 year corporate not quite long, same with Dangote Cement and Lagos State Government. Their rates were all in the neighborhood of 12%. All these are to be considered in determining rates. Like I ask before and will still ask again does it mean that the experts of these companies and state government are not being prudent too..? These companies and sub-national Bonds are well rated and have not defaulted too. So the risks with them are relatively minimal.

You should be looking at the inflation rate and devaluation and currency devaluation in the USA and China when using their bond rates as reference.
If I may. You're actually reinforcing our view. How can an FGN bond be priced at 13% with a corporate bond at 12%? This is only possible if the said corporate has significant foreign revenues that can be said to 'pierce the national veil'

The country can always print money to service its bonds, or tax the corporates more.

And, if the nation defaults, the corporates are marked down because political risk has increased in their operating environments.

I think the advisors on the Sukuk screwed up and overlooked their mandate. I deal with these guys all the time. It's year end - they get lost and giddy about their individual bonuses.

Here, I'd say it's not the volume of oversubscriptions that is the success benchmark, but the lowest cost (to the country) to achieve the required bond amount.

Peace.

He is not talking about the merits of these bonds and sukuk to investors but whether it is prudent for government to offer them at such rates when there are many investors who will still invest at much lower rates.
Agreed. Society as a whole (not individual self-interested investors) benefits when Government borrows at the lowest possible price out there.

There is too much premium afforded between the market clearing priced (but nonetheless over-subscribed) TB rates and FGN bond rates. For the same underlying credit risk.

For instance, if the Sukuk were priced at 11.5%, it would still be oversubscribed. Some people here might choose not to invest, which is good as that money would go directly into the productive economy.

In my example above, there is absolutely no need for the Govt. to leave that 130bps on the table, rewarding rent-seekers*.

IMO, this particular fable hurts us and leaves us subservient to foreign exchange fluctuations - importing iron ore in this day and age!

Iron at the molecular level is the same whether produced from ore, or from reclaimed metal. Both have 'impurities' to be removed and it is the way these are handled that decides the final quality outcome.

How do I analyze Bible with you when you don't actually know how to read properly. You will only be arguing. This is what need to be corrected first.

You are seeing plain text like vision, and your interpretation is like one who is watching movies and retelling the scene.

So, let's start from that, that's when we can move to a proper point of examining the scripture. Hope you are ready to learn.
Hey Chief, I am asking this from an 'interested spectator of this exchange' viewpoint, no declared skin in this particular fight.

- If the Bible is the key to everlasting salvation, why do you need a special ability to read properly to analyze it? Y'know, to avoid taking the stories at face value?

- Does having this ability imagine some level of education/critical reasoning?

- How is such ability distributed among the general populace, so everyone has a chance at this everlasting salvation?

Again, I come in peace.

‘Preventing Calamity’! Gov. Sanwoolu Seals Gerrard, Ikoyi High-rise

https://www.thecapital.ng/higris/

What could have warranted such an order? Findings show that Lagos State Government is miffed with the property developers and owners for embarking on such a project without subjecting it to procedural approvals from the state government and other authorities vested with the mandate to ensure compliance with standards and quality. In other words, the massive project has been sealed for lack of approvals from required quarters, as Lagos State Government has risen stoutly and promptly to halt the gargantuan project.

According to an inside source who spoke in anonymity, the State Government took the action to seal the building in order to ensure that what happened with Lekki Gardens Estate when its on-going six-storey building collapsed on March 8, 2016 would not be witnessed again in the state.

“It is unheard of that the owners of the Ikoyi project in question would embark on such a capital intensive project without obtaining required approvals for a project as massive as that. Gone are the days of negligence on the part of the government when people flout the law. Sealing up the project is law taking its due course

It’s my style of doing things remotely, no restrictions. At foundations level, I show up without them knowing is mine project. I always have a tested and trusted hand on ground that gives me daily progress reports . I believe we have dealing yourself without meeting me.
Remote working is not the issue here. In this case, an architect might need to visit the site more than once to clarify or check things and the cost of the visit is a big bugbear when it's out of town. I often offer to bear this but there is a natural limit after which you begin to wonder whether a local option would have been a smarter choice.

There was a dispute here recently on concrete paving work. I believe had the contractor had been able to readily drive down perhaps on his way home from work, it might not have escalated as much as it did.

So, I've worked with many artisans here, imported from Lagos to work on my project. Other than Gbadexy - and that's simply because he supplies paints - on time, on spec, and makes himself readily available for remote consultation - I have found myself wishing these were more local because my project would perhaps then get more attention.

If I was scoring them, and they got a perfect 10 in the actual job execution, I would deduct at least half a point for follow-up unresponsiveness, sadly magnified by the distance issue.

IMO, of course. Good day.

It can't.
It can never be substituted for wrought iron used in reinforced concrete.
Note:
We don't just use any iron for reinforcement in concrete. The name of the iron used is called wrought iron.
Why?
It has a high tensile stress: when acted upon, it does break at a go, it stretches instead (bends).
When that bamboo dries inside the concrete, it will turn to some thing like galvanised pipe.
If there's a reason for it to break, it will let go easily.
This is a topic 4 anoda day.
Chief, there two confusing inconsistencies (to me, at least) in the above.

1. Wrought iron for concrete reinforcement?

2. Assuming you meant steel, bamboo has a higher tensile strength than steel.
https://www.engineeringdiscoveries.net/2019/05/why-bamboo-is-more-stronger-than-steel.html?m=1

Dire warnings are already being passed here about bamboo but I've read different.

We should not be afraid to experiment IMO.

I can accept that the body of knowledge in the structural prescription and application of bamboo is way behind steel rebar but we can get there.

With a little more open-mindedness, actually, we'll get there.

Good day.

The witholding tax is not such an issue if you declare your global income to the Nigerian Tax authorities (as you should) as a matter of course.

The Nigerian Tax authorities will tax you on your Global earnings (Naija income plus any US income) but credit you for the tax already witheld in the US. You might end up paying less tax in Nigeria overall as a result but you probably didn't intend to declare to the Nigerian Tax authorities that US income you've earned anyway.

Hope this makes sense. Good day.

Quick question Chief. This is one of the first designs in Nigeria I've seen provision for an attic room in the roof from the get-go. This is off particular interest to me (see: https://www.nairaland.com/3750414/quick-question-roof-space-utility).

Does it mean you provided for an additional (concrete) slab just for that room or (as done abroad) propose to use a wooden floor over a structural RSJ tied to specific columns in the local area? I can wait for pictures when you get to that stage too.

Thanks.
