SA is indeed a powerhouse of African music but that doesn't mean it's the only one. The fact it's not recognised in Nigeria is testimony to the fact you're a one-genre country (autotuned afrobeats).

All Nigerians into rap acknowledge SA is the African champion, House, amapiano, R&B, Gqom, afropop, choral, opera, orchestral, etc. Nigeria is limited to afrobeats.

I've seen Nigerians frolicking around SA djs and shooting videos in SA instead, I don't know what you're talking about. Right now Nigerian artists are jumping on the amapiano bandwagon to remain relevant coz amapiano is next global phenomenon (and yet u say SA is not a powerhouse - I laugh in Xhosa )

Cassper Nyovest was referring to how your music is marketed - I mean really, if South Africans wanted to be Nigerians u would see more of us on your streets instead of the other way round. Burna is the one who wants to be South African. He swore he would never set foot in SA until we apologized for xenophobia, but weeks later he was booked for a concert in SA without any apology been issued. Then South Africans objected to his presence in the country and got his concert cancelled for not apologising to South Africans first . A few months later Burna was singing in Zulu to appease South Africans. That's levels right there bro, show some respect

Attacks
As for residents looting the local shop even though they're friends I don't believe thats completely accurate. The people who will initiate the attack would often have criminal intentions or be from outside communities. The local residents would just take advantage of the looting that follows afterwards due to poverty (if they don't take someone else will, type of mentality). It's sick I know but that's how messed up the situation has become. Remember also that these attacks take place in deprived areas.

I always hear the argument that most countries in Africa also have poor people but they don't go around looting. A lot of analysis needs to go into that but so far some suggestions are that the persisting extreme inequality and psychological effects of apartheid are to blame - of which most African countries don't have to deal with.

Crime
But it's an ongoing discussion that won't be solved anytime soon. Theres a lot of scapegoating in SA, I must admit, that foreigners are the cause of our problems, especially from politicians who have failed to offer people services. But there's also a lot of truth in that undocumented migrants are involved in crime - especially because SA is not the eldorado they hoped it would be, so it's steal or starve. Note that I'm not denying SA has its own criminals but locals find it extremely disrespectful when foreign people harm their hosts.

Jobs
There's also truth in that migrants take low skilled jobs, especially in the services and agricultural sectors because they are willing to be paid far less - which is actually illegal. Go to many restaurants and you'll be served by Zimbabweans while the government doesn't penalise the employers for not adhering to employment quotas. Most Pakistani, Somali, Ethiopian and Nigerian shops in the CBDs don't hire South Africans because they would have to adhere to labour policies and pay them the minimum wage of which they're not willing to do. And that's just FACTS most foreign businessmen don't want to admit.

Frustration
So often when South Africans bring up these issues they are quickly shut down by the pan-Africanist ANC government and the media has become too sensitive around xenophobia lest they be blamed for promoting it. The results then become an explosion of pent-up frustration from South Africans, of which later the whole world tags them xenophobic.

I hope I'm not being too biased - just thought I should voice out the less heard of point of view of this whole issue.

LMFAO, the accusations against the Zuma administration were corruption, and I sincerely wish that the current administration was only about corruption but what we are facing with Ramapipi is a lot more sinister ......Genocide & total societal collapse& control . Initially I thought his funders were only going for the SOE'S, it never crossed my mind that they wanted to own it all including our thoughts ...transhumanism( conspiracy theory) . He would never reveal his funders ,but they are revealing themselves ;D1& 2 are some of them. As you said the administration is doing everything to piss off ANC voters and SA at large; .....Not paying salaries of ANC members , more loose borders ,privatisation of states assets, chinkos and kwangas in positions of power etc. And ofcourse they need Zuma to pull the final trigger ( spill all the dirt of about the scam that took place since the 90s), if he does that then the ANC will be finished as even the gogos will abstain from voting .
