This is the best time to get his refinery working. I am not sure of which administration gave him the operating license anyway. It is going to shut down a lot of fraudulent importation business and probably drop the price of fuel. It will still be a monopoly nonetheless. According to H.E Emir Sanusi, the problem of Nigeria is the issue of vested interest. Successive governments have intentionally destroyed the government's capacity just to enrich individuals. What will it cost the government to set up multiple refineries? Why does government award contract to private firms instead of equipping the ministries? Dangote is only enjoying a tradition that has come to stay. Can we ask him not to take advantage of what is on ground? No! Anyone would. So, divesting from a business that does not give him the benefits of monopoly isn't a bad idea after all. |
Buhari probably doesn't even know who he is posing with. |
This is too late. They have spent the entire tenure being irresponsible; I bet we will not see anything different. |
BeeBeeOoh:You are really asking if this is the only problem facing Nigeria? Please mention one problem we have that does not spring from corruption. Money is what we need to solve every problem we have, but corruption takes all the money. So let us fight the corruption. |
chukwudi44:Oya introduce the bill na. |
TonyeBarcanista:Hey, IGP, not PMB ordered their arrest. Everyone is working without Buhari talking. |
TonyeBarcanista:Your opinion though. You think PDP should have remained in power? A sect that has rocked the nation for over 6 years, we expect that they be gotten rid of in few months? APC may have made that statement having not taken over power and probably without adequate intelligence about this sect. With the threat made by PMB during campaign, we don't expect BH to rest and wait to be extinguished; it is just normal that they get better in their strategies. Yes, APC made promises, but we should cut them some slack. They r working, recovering grounds and it can only get better. Please, sentiments aside, let's pray for the government. Hate for the government won't help. God bless the dead. |
This man is dumb. |
Talking about Saraki decamping to PDP...are we sure the party will accept him? What has he got to offer the party? A dethroned SP? |
ydass:Your words are wise ones. |
i don't know why some peeps r supporting Saraki. I'm made to believe they r people of like minds. Do u regard someone who became SP against the wishes of his party, consumed by his PERSONAL AMBITION, a leader? This dude don't care about nobody but himself. Even the reaction from his people in KWARA is mixed. He's messed up home and abroad. He's gunning for 2019 presidency. Bad political strategizing I must say. He should face trial, and if he's exonerated, fine. However, I've never respected him since his dubious rise to that seat. |
I think Saraki deserves whatever he gets. I don't have any firm of sympathy for him. He is simply paying for his over-ambition. When he emerged SP, some people hailed him, calling him a smart politician. Now this is politics playing out. Whatever the source of his woes may be, he deserves everything he's getting. Having someone who usurped his party's plans as SP in the first place is bad for our image as a democratic nation. Tambura might have escaped it, Dogara has probably escaped it too. However, let's bear in mind that Dogara reconciled with the powers that be in APC while Saraki has remained obstinate. You can't be bigger than your party. This is politics, this is Nigeria. You f@#k up, you get f@#jed up real bad. Wish him luck with his travails. All his supporters should just understand that this might just end his political ambition which he has not planned well. No matter how powerful you are, there are more powerful people. We don't know who is responsible for his woes, however, I know he is probably only getting a feedback. |
chukwudi44:May I mention to you that cases will probably not be dragged for long in Nigeria anymore. When justice needs to be served, it will be served hot. However, this is the senate president we are talking about, his troubles won't last long. He'd probably sink sooner than expected. He won't be on that sit while the case lingers. I believe it won't happen. However, let's watch it play out. |
So this one too can grant interviews...shameless man. |
gentleoyink:Are u really sure that there is nothing to show for it? Come on, leave sentiments out if your judgement. This man is our miracle. Let's keep praying for him. |
I'm not sorry for Saraki. He deserves whatever he gets. Whether this is from APC or PDP, let justice prevail. It's just sad he's losing his relevance in APC, even PDP won't honour him. He connived with the PDP to emerge SP, now PDP is kicking he ass. Quite unfortunate, but good for him. |
His type of amnesty I believe will still bring shock to the militants. Tompolo and a few others deprived many if the amnesty in the last administration. That program wasn't run well. I still maintain that it was a waste of money. |
First, militants should go and rest. For crying out loud, they are not the only region in Nigeria na...what's all the chaos for. GEJ who asked for the meeting to be cancelled isn't stupid. He understands there's no need for uneccessary heat. You people are making too much noise and constituting a nuisance. Make una go find work do. Insult PMB all u like, GEJ got his own insult, even awarded the most cursed president, it didn't change anything. Sensible communication with the government will do so much than all this noise. |
I hope this allegation isn't false as I am tired of propaganda. However, if it is true, all participants should be made to dance to the music. Those senators who boldly read these quotes should be tried. As for Saraki, I've just been waiting for him. If he escapes this, he won't escape another. You don't place yourself above your party, it's not done anywhere. He was starting a reign of impunity in Nigeria, in the upper chambers. His election, caused too much of uproar. He deserves whatever Ill befalls him; it's risky to be over-ambitious. for PMB, I know he will succeed, that's what we voted for. God bless Nigeria. |
First, the allegation don't make sense to me. The response of some people on here is troubling. How on earth at this time and age will anyone plan to destroy lives of so many. No disrespect meant but I should say some responses from some young people who seem to be from that region on this forum is quite disappointing. Peace will reign in Nigeria. Please, the earlier the ND people realized that they need to all get themselves busy and pursue a future for themselves, the better. People from other regions don't cry to government for free money. I think u guys should blame GEJ for not developing ur communities in the six years he had, instead diverting the money into the pocket of a few of you that could guarantee him protection. I'm not a supporter of amnesty, it's waste of money, improper use. I'd once again state that the money could have been used to develop the ND, create jobs and fix things, instead money was spent to send unrepentant few to schools they have no need for. Y'all should please give the new government a breathing space and stop distracting him. We will all bear the brunt if he fails and vice versa. |
Taylor86:GEJ was the architect of his own failure, u know this. |
It is troubling to know that some people don't mind a re-convening of the militants to do battle against the government. The amount of money spent on the militants already in the past administration could have been used to put their communities in proper shape and provide jobs for them. Instead of this, GEJ sent them to expensive Nigerian schools and even out of the country; not like they will come back to be useful to themselves, the Niger-delta communities or the nation at large. Amnesty was the biggest waste of the tax payers money. Those communities haven't improved. I wouldn't however blame the beneficiaries, it was another means to loot the treasury. These guys should go and rest and stop uneccessary agitation - this government won't respond to it. They should all go look for jobs to do and stop waiting for money. Naija no get money. As for Tompolo, he has made it, I dont think he will involve himself in any form of trouble. He's one of the richest men in Nigeria, what will he be fighting for - he sure has more to lose fighting than helping to keep the peace. |
AtlanticBreeze:I do not agree with your comment sir/ma. It's clear as we speak that PMB's visit will yield results. This government is doing well so far, let's avoid sentiments. |
Nigeria is a funny place. first, we are not sure of the authenticity of this letter . secondly, if the letter is real, it wont be a bad idea for them to go after corrupt leaders, but destrying oil wells is just a wrong thing to do. although violence isn't good but i bliv strongly that before this country will move forward, some people have to die! |
but please, why should a sick man remain governor. he has absconded from his duties and im sure he still gets his pay. what a country! ![]() |
LesbianBoy: What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul!I am sorry for your soul. It's the news of Africa's richest man acquiring a hatch, not a tale of sin silly u! |
We all know that nollywood is a joke, especially the Yoruba category. When about 50 movies are released in a month, how much are the actors expected to get? It is hard to find an average budget nollywood movie, they are all usually low-budget. No one should marvel at this news! ![]() |
