Celebrities › Re: Apologize To Van Vicker Or Don’t Come To Ghana Movie Directors Warns Tonto Dikeh by jaguda(m): 7:36am On Sep 09, 2011
@ Nayah, point of Correction, Tonto Dikeh is NOT and ambassador of Nigeria, does not represent Nigeria in any way and has never been an image of Nigeria. Its like saying Yvonne Nelson is the image of Ghana, hmmm, faulty reasoning.

Van Vicker and Tonto should resolve their differences, and if the Director on set cannot work with Tonto, he shouldn't pull the Ghanaian Directors Guild into his fiasco.
Nigerians this, Nigerians that. Ghana this, Ghana that. Pls stop all the B.S. The issue here is Tonto vs Van. This movie directors asking her to apologize might even be Nigerian movie directors residing in Ghana. I have seen lots of Ghanian movies with Nigerian directors and producers. With time she will do the right thing.
Don, dat can't be true, a Nigerian Movie Director will know what to do.

Kajina:
My dear, I don’t see it as an issue between 2 countries and I don’t think anybody else does. The issue here is Tonto screwed up badly and she needs to own-up and apologize. Don’t get me wrong I have nothing against her. She is actually one of my favourites, and I like watching her with Van. But she also needs to get her acts together.

And whether the apology is forthcoming or not is Tonto’s decision.
Now, how did TD screw up? for confronting Van The Almighty Vicker? i have confronted my bosses several times and issues are always resolved. Has anybody ever tried to make TD see the so called screw up she did? TD should move on to other scripts, there are more important things to attend to than apologizing to VV

There is NO evidence linking Buhari to Boko Haram.
There is NO single hard fact to support the constant allegation that Buhari is a 'religious bigot'.

Ergo, the people that make these constant accusations are deep in the throes of imbecility!
facts that Buhari is a religious bigot

http://www.nigeriansinamerica.com/articles/180/1/Mohammadu-Buhari-An-Inscrutable-Leader/Page1.html

just those 3. try googling Buhari and sharia law in Nigeria.

me thinks Buhari failed, alongside IBB when they declined to appear before the Oputa Reconciliatory Panel. it was a slap on the face of Nigerians, that they were accountable to us, these same people cannot turn around and claim to be democrats when it so pleases them. Moreover, 100 days into 1461 days in office is hardly a standard in rating performance.

Nayah:
Jaguda, she's a star, so she has to show the good example that's simple I don't really understand why some are bashing Ghanaians comments are a bit unfair towards them forgetting what's the rudeness of a young lady can cause especially these days, hope it's not an excuse for this useless rivalry
Because the comments from Ghanaians are targeted at Nigerians and not Tonto Dikeh herself. Haven't u noticed Nigerians do no give a hoot about Stars?

It is Immature and childish for Van Vicker to hide behind Ghana Movie Producers, he should fight his battles and not drag the Ghanaian nation into it BUT guess Ghanaians have a thing for bad press on anything Nigeria(n).

ogugua88:
Self-righteousness will kill Nigerians. Tonto Dikeh was rude. A sensible human being or an adult will see the need to apologize. Because Ghana is a smaller country and because our movie industry is more successful doesn't mean a thing. If you truly want to compare the two, compare things that matter. No one moves to a country for it's movie industry unless they want to act. Ghana has stable light, stable government. No one is bombing embassies in Ghana. For stability reasons, many Nigerians flood Ghana.

Nollywood is bigger than Ghollywood. Oya clap. The issue is Tonto Dikeh being rude and so many have taken offense to the Van Vicker/RMD comparison. Na wa lol.
Tonto Dikeh was rude to who? Atta Mills? Jerry Rawlings? Ghanian Flag? Ghanian Constitution? rude to who, what? rude to a fellow ARTISTE; and the entire Ghanian Movie Producers had to issue a statement? Can't Van Vicker speak for himself.

Kajina:
She can even go to Hollywood and act, but if she wants to go to Ghana, she knows what to do. A simple apology will not hurt.
Kajina, u need to wake up, dat apology is NOT FORTHCOMING

Why is that Nigerians see this issue as an something between 2 colleagues and the Ghanians are seeing it a something between two countries? Why?

Accursed Beaf, Deal with that.
Well, Demdem, guess u have to put up with a clueless and foolish President for the next 3 years? and folks like u get upright and indignant when Pastor Bakare referred to Nigerians as FOOLS.

If u were so results oriented and wise, y are u not in Aso Rock, solving Nigeria's problems? Afraid of being called a clueless and foolish too?

Interesting thread, and some very disturbing comments, wow. Its never easy to stand in front of a crowd to lead, but it is relatively EASY to throw tantrums and insults from within a crowd. GEJ is not performing to your high standards (NLers) but know this, are you doing your part in creating the kind of country u want? What standout decision did u take last week? what action have u taken this week not to partake in creating a negative Nigeria? what is your plan for the Nigerian future?

GEJ wasn't clueless during the elections, suddenly he is clueless. Suddenly he is now Jonasatan, Retardeen, Odechukwu and the like. We are even accusing GEJ of failings done years before got involved in Politics; and the sucker punch, someone asking GEJ to RESIGN, wow, dat would be a 1st in Naija. A sitting President resign.

Life is so funny, it works in cycles. think there is a saying about if you want to achieve sumtin new, u have to change the way u do things. Call the President names, abuse him, say what u want on NL, but what solution or suggestion have u proferred. If u have one meeting with GEJ what would u tell him?

When you have Christian leaders telling the dominant religion in Nigeria that the name of their religion is 'poison', what else do you expect?

Answer me this SIMPLE question: If it is called 'Islamic Banking' all over the world and then suddenly in Nigeria Christian leaders are demanding it be called something else, is it not going to cause intense suspicion and resentment in the Muslim community in Nigeria? Is it not tantamount to OFFICIAL acceptance and propagation of the 'muslim = terrorist' stereotype?

The same people that were claiming Buhari made inciting comments are the ones keeping mum while the CAN folk have made these sort of unwise statements. Now we're in the escalation stage. Let's hope we don't all suffer for this.

1. Where is the statistics that says ISLAM is the dominant religion in Nigeria? or u just pluck figures from the sky or u want to tell us you don't know that 49% of Northern Nigerians are Christians, from Kano to Kaduna, to Gombe, Bauchi, Sokoto , Kebbi and the others, even Zamfara? the fact that the Christians hardly get into political offices do not make Islam the dominant religion.

2. CAN officials have been making unwise statements about the Islamic banking, abi? Has it resulted in any mosque burnt or any muslim killed in a christian dominated community? and u wonder why muslims are stereotyped as terrorists?

3. Islamic Banking is practiced in Britain, USA and Canada, as you say, but do NIGERIANS have the same tolerance value system as these countries? When Govt officials compare Nigeria to these countries, u flare and complain but u do the same now to buttres a point that does not exist. Can the British, USA and Canadian Muslim get away with the atrocities committed by Nigerian Muslims given the same conditions?

Sanusi is beginning to be a problem to the Project Nigeria just like the inactivity/ lack of response by GEJ, to this issue.
Yes and that is why i have always supported the clamor for resource control because the north can make itself economically viable when the governors are made to generate revenue. So if we are not the worst in natural resources in the world then why worry.Oil money may not come but surely it won't stop us developing economically if we choose to.I believe so.I have gone to places in the north and seen things that could be a source of significant economic growth if properly harness or developed. The silly northern governors are just so use to cheap source of income every month. When they realize its gone or denied, then they get digging on what they have to offer from within. So we may not be USA but definitely can match the south if we choose our future path carefully and only invest in what is important.Don't forget that today Brunei has alot of money from such enormous resources.hardly do they stand as the best in the world even where there population is few.I Believe when we split, the competition will drive a sort of cold war.Where no one will like to be left behind.Encouraging patriotism and progressive governance.Rather than the current ethnicity or regionalism.
So why don't the Northern Political Class pursue policies that will make the North economically viable? why is this over dependence on Oil and Gas. Do u really believe Nigeria has not moved on from 1966, and that if GEJ is assassinated, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN?

Now tell me people, what does these fora tell us, with our ever angry and divisive response to issues, always speaking from sentimental and tribal standpoints, chasing shadows while abandoning the real issues. Methinks Nigeria has moved on from 1966 and GEJ is just a trap set up to cause a split in Nigeria, cos Southern Nigerians are seeing the hand writing on the wall more clearly now, that the Northern Political class BELIEVE its their birthright to rule.

For all its worth, Osaze should never have disrespected the team and the coach. He walked out of camp because he was not used and openingly twitted about Siasia having issues with Senior members of the team (which other member)huhhuhhuh? Siasia dealt with the situation accordingly and correctly, nip any form of rebellion/dress room unrest in the bud ( Remeber Mikel and the Bejing Olympics) Osaze alone is not the team, Osaze alone has not pulled Nigeria through difficult situations, he's been patriotic, yes, but who knows if all this while coaches and the NFF have been tolerating him?

Typical naija scenario, they might have been waiting for someone to deal with him and ALONG CAME SIASIA! It is Siasia's fate to fall or rise without Osaze, he only can decide, cry as hard as u might as fans.

From earlier posts, one can see that the issue is a serious divisive issue and the header calls for something like a slight to the Igbos. Must Sanusi mention that an Igbo man is on the board of the proposed bank? what is the rationale for that information? that 1 IGBO MAN REPRESENTS THE IGBO NATION?

If the bank was licensed in 2003, why have they not started operations till now? there are so many questions and so many loose ends that can upset the system, these need to addressed and people's fears put to rest.
