Politics / Army Generals Earn N12 Million+ p.a.!!! by jakaiso(m): 12:50am On Mar 25, 2013
I just read part of a circular dated July 10,2010 sent to President Goodluck Jonathan by National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission indicating the following as salaries for Military officers:

Salary Structure Of Top Military Officers

Lt-Col/Wing Commander/Navy Commander N3,380,086 p.a.

Colonel/Group Captain/Navy Captain N3,715,859 p.a.

Brigadier Gen/Air Commodore/Navy Commodore N7,385,856 p.a.

Maj-Gen/Air Vice Marshal/Rear Admiral N12,038,945 p.a.

Lt-Gen/Air Marshal/Vice Admiral receives N13,363,229.00 p.a.

Generals N16,303,140.00 p.a.

Obviously the military is no longer poorly paid. I am assuming that even a private in the army (the lowest rank) will be earning at least N50,000 per month or N600,000 per annum. If this is the case-then there is the possibility that proffesionalism will truly return to the military.

Does anyone know what the Police salary structure is?

Some federal universities are safe ooooo, I didn't experience any cult scene all through my 5yrs in FUTA, and when people talk about cultism feels like nollywood film to me...maybe after plenty MEE drawings,MTS assigments and fear of failure and close watch fromm fellowsip activites, you'll be too weak to reason existence of cultism....anyways...RIP to the dead #was he a cultist also#?

Ahhh-FUTA has changed-it was almost as bad between 1994 to 1996-before Ilemobade/Kolawole smashed them. There were gun shots on campus, rapes off campus and then 27 of the big guns were expelled in 1994/95.

Darky was the king- he was in FUTA for 10 years for a 5 year course. Buddy was the no 1 hit man.

When the investigations started in 1994-hundreds of them recanted and cultism died off.

After that it became an off campus-infact town thing.

GenBuhari-please stop this nonsense. I like your posts and i have believed and supported in Buhari since I was a child. I was not even 10 years old on August 27th 1985 when Buhari and Idiagbon were overthrown-but I wept-actual tears.
But please stop defending the bastard lunatic called Abacha-please.
And if you must defend him-please change your username.Please.

hmm (after looking at ur list that stinks of tribalism) where did u dig up all these yoruba NOnentities from abeg park well jor!! its clear dat u knw nothing about vaLOUR and military prowess. so carry sit sidon. BY THE WAY ..WEN DID YORUBA PPLE START making good solDIERS??

What does tribe have to be do with performance? Its the same nonsense people were saying about the composition of the Super Eagles.
The list you refer to has 2 Generals of Yoruba origin.
What does it matter where a person comes from?

Thats one thing thats killing Nigeria.

In Ghana-everyone speaks Twi-even though there are at least 5 other languages.

In the USA-white people voted for a black man to become President.

Why do you judge a person just by looking at his name.

Name anyone who will dispute the greatness and integrity of Ishola Williams or the militay tactics of Adekunle Benjamin.

Kaduna Nzegowu was Ibo and he was a great soldier.

Joshua Dongoyaro is Hausa and is by all accounts a great general.

Maxwell Khobe is from the Middle Belt or South South ( not sure)-he led Nigeria to do what no other country except Nigeria has ever done on Earth-single handedly intervene in a country that is in the midst of war-restore order and governance. The USA did it with NATO in Yugoslavia and Germany-and in every other instance -it was done by a combination of countriies.

I dream of the day-when my children and yours, my brothers and yours-will be judged not by the tribal origin, the color of the skin,or the name they bear-but by the content of the character and work of their hands. ( apologies to MLK)

I beg to disagree, joshua dogonyaro did not stop charles taylor and co.
victor malu did,

There were 2 Liberian wars -one started in 1989, the other during Obasanjo's Presidency.

Dongoyaro was the first Nigerian ECOMOG commander. He took over from the Ghanian General under whose watch Yormie Johnson-attached the ECOMOG headquarters and captured Samuel Doe who was a guest of ECOMOG.

Dudu_Negro: as far im concerned, the only nigerian army officer worth the value and honor of the medals pinned to his chest was TUNDE IDIAGBON.....that was a soldier!

True Idiagbon was great-but there are many true Nigerian soldiers-some who never held political office:

Joshua Dongoyaro (who put a stop to Charles Taylor, Yormie Johnson and their muderous rebels.

Maxwell Khobe-a true soldier who in 1 week put an end to the Sierro Leone killers who called themselves rebels

Mohammedu Buhari who put a 3 year stop to the incursion of Chadian soldiers into Nigeria and their wanton killing of Nigerians

Kaduna Nzeogwu

Adekunle Benjamin ( so good that 20 years after he left the army he was considered to head ECOMOG in the fight against Charles Taylor)

Ishola Williams

and others unnamed and unsung.

Warri _Pikin: O'l boy, Diya was a real coward! How could you plot a coup against your friend and your Head of State?
Abacha probably knew Diya was a lying snake that he recorded their meeting.Even at that, Diya is still denying everything he did on the tape.
I didn't like Abacha, but for sparing Diya's life after Diya had plotted to take his own, he was a truly forgiving man.

Forgive how?
Diya was sentenced to death and would have been executed the very week Abacha died. It was God that forgave and saved him.
There is no forgiveness in the military.

You are right about the OP. The OP is so goofy while treading on issue he or she knew little about. The so-called 23 executive orders can not become law until the Congress acts on them Nigeria unlike USA, the police and army would have been on street search house to house simply because the president issues executive orders.

Point of correction-An executive order does not need Congress to act on it-thats why its called an Executive order. US Presidents pass executive orders to by-pass Congress. All the 23 Executive Orders automatically become law that will be enforced by the Police,AFT, FBI and other security agencies.

Amazing- "NEPA" has struck in the USA. Its the 3rd Quarter at the 2013 Super Bowl holding in New Orleans between the San Fransisco 49ers and the Balitimore Ravens -suddenly half of the power in the stadium went off!

Story is that the new Manager of electricity was a former GM of NEPA (tongue in cheek)

Its been off now for almost 10 minutes.

The Super Bowl is the biggest sporting event in America-it holds every year!

FYsol: I once worked with Jimoh Ibrahim. You cannot stand on the staircase while he is passing being a staff. You must disappear back to where you are coming from he is like a demi god. Can someone like that ever share a cab with another person not to talk of public transit.meanwhile sergey will buy 10 of Dangote and collect change

Bros 10 of Dangote ke? Dangote is worth $11 billion and Sergey Brin is worth $17. And if its really a calculation of all assests and cash-Dangote is worth more as Forbes only reckons with value of publicly quoted and traded companies-in this case-Sergey Brin's share of Google and Dangote's shares in his companies on the NSE.

And we need to take many of these things in perspective. America is a throughly organized entity-

Police will arrive to any call in 30 seconds to 5 minutes
Kidnapping is almost non existent in the USA. How do want to successfully kidnap anyone? Is it your phone that wont be traced? In the University of Minnesota alone there over 2000 CTV cameras?
The subway like every other form of public transportion is to the clock. If it says it will arrive at 9.15am-it will arrive at 9.15am-no story.
In the USA too there are many shine millionaires and billionaires who go about in conveys and private jets. Its just that there, having money doesnt mean you can harrass anyone and get away with it. Trust me there are too many lawyers and most earn their daily bread by looking for fault where there is none.

Donald Trump just bought a new private jet with gold plated toilets. And he goes almost everywhere with armed escorts. Thats just one example. There are flashy rich people everywhere and there are also silent ones.

When I was in Ghana-I met a Nigerian wearing simple trouser and shirt-with a simple 2nd hand car.It was after he left, that the person who he was with told me that he was one of Nigeria's silent billionaires-he owns one paint manufacturing company. I had never heard of his name or seen his face in any newspaper. Whereas there are many Nigerian billionaires who wherever they go-Ghana or the USA or South Africa go with an entourage of 5 to 20 people.

Politics / Re: Nigerian Troops Ill-equipped For War In Mali! by jakaiso(m): 6:21pm On Jan 21, 2013
It stands on record-that Nigeria is the ONLY COUNTRY in the history of mankind that on its own-entered a country in the midst of civil war-ended the civil war and restored law and order. And we did 2 times in Sierra Leon and once in Liberia.Check the records-NO OTHER COUNTRY has ever done that.It has always been a combination of countries.

In any other instance it was a combination of nations like NATO in the old Yugoslavia.

Nigeria did it ALONE in Liberia in 1995 and Sierra Leone in 2000 before ECOWAS and the UN came in it.

Who can ever forget the great Brigadier Genral Maxwell Khobe of the Nigerian Army who single handledly drove out the RUF rebels in Sierra Leone in 3 days after the rebels had hacked the limbs of thousands of kids.

Or General Joshua Doganyaro who took over from the inept Ghanian Genral. This Ghanian General was the first Commander of Ecomog and under his watch-right in the ECOMOG office-Yommie Johnson kidnapped President Doe and killed ECOMOG troops.

Doganyaro replaced the Ghanaina and defeated Charles Taylor and Yommie Johnson.

Nigeria has its problems-many I agree-but in every instance where Nigerian soldiers and policemen have served overseas-they have performed beyond and above expectations.

Why is it so hard for you dolts to understand that a man can be part of the band without being a STAFF MEMBER of any of KSA's companies?

For example, Didier Drogba played for Chelsea for many years. He was never made a permanent member of Chelsea FC or given a place on the board.

naptu2: State House Ribadu Road used to be the official residence of the minister of defence (Mallam Ribadu). It is beside the Federal Guards (Dodan) Barracks.

However, General Gowon felt that State House Marina was not safe/did not offer enough security (there were rumours that Major General Ironsi used to cross the Marina and sleep aboard a navy gunboat every night). He therefore mandated Joseph Garba to find a suitable residence for the Head of State/Supreme Commander.

Joe Garba decided that State House Ribadu Road would be a suitable residence. Parts of Ribadu Road were blocked off (Ribadu Road used to link Awolowo Road to Ikoyi Road) and the compound expanded. The name was changed to State House Dodan Barracks (although it is not located in Dodan Barracks).

Unlike State House Marina, which is a mansion, Dodan Barracks is a complex that contains the president's residence, office block, council chambers, press centre, etc.

Dodan is the name of a place in Burma where Nigerian soldiers died while making a last stand.

You seem to be a truly learned person with insight into details of Nigerian history.I may one day need your input in putting together the history of modern Nigeria.

Health / Story Of Zach Sobiech: A Terminal Cancer Patient by jakaiso(m): 4:06pm On Dec 21, 2012
This is in honour of Zach Sobiech-a friend here in MN, USA who has just months left to live.He has had a rare form of cancer since he was a child. In June the cancer spread to his pelvis and lungs and all forms of treatments stopped working. He has now been told by doctors that he has months to live.
When doctors said treatment was no longer working for Elizabeth Edwards and she had months or weeks to live-I didnt believe it-but she died just days later.

Zac wrote a song ( he's loved music all his young life) its called Clouds and we have been doing all we can to get it to 1 million views on Youtube since it came on earlier this month.
Using MyTalk 107.1 from Minneapolis, MN-we wanted to give Zac a Christmas gift of 1 million hits-thank God we got there and beyond.
But wow in just 2 weeks it sprang from 40,000 to 1.2 million as of today December 21st.
Zac performed live this morning at the 3 Squares resturant in Maple Grove,MN in honor of the Ian & Margery show. Ian has been in the forefront to publicize Zac's hit song. Today is Ian's last day on radio.
This is the link to the song on youtube-please spread the word and maybe we can give this brave young man a 2 million youtube gift.

Zach was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2009 at age 14. Osteosarcoma is a cancer of the bone, with just 400 cases diagnosed in children under age 20 per year in the U.S. When a persistent pain in his hip just wouldn’t subside, doctors discovered that Zach had a large tumor in his left hip, which eventually metastasized to his lungs. Since his diagnosis, Zach has endured a hip replacement, hours of physical therapy, four thoracotomies, several minor surgeries and biopsies, months and months of chemo, countless days in the hospital and even more days of feeling sick.

Because osteosarcoma is so rare, more private funding, like funding from Children’s Cancer Research Fund, is needed to push research forward.

Zach’s family joined the club they never wanted to be part of, with countless other families who live life scan-to-scan - the necessary check-ups which determine if the cancer has returned. The cycle is the same - the weeks of dread leading up to the appointment, and the joy or heartache that quickly follows. Doctors are closely watching Zach’s lungs for tumors, and he receives chemotherapy to keep them at bay.

Zach goes to the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital for treatment, where doctors are world renowned leaders in childhood cancer research. Unfortunately, research for osteosarcoma lags behind other types of cancers such as leukemia in the development of treatments and more targeted therapies. Because osteosarcoma is so rare, more private funding, like funding from Children’s Cancer Research Fund, is needed to push research forward - for Zach, and young people diagnosed after him.

The family has been told he could have months to perhaps a year to live; they hope for more.

LYRICS TO THE SONG
Well I fell down, down, down
Into this dark and lonely hole
There was no one there to care about me anymore
And I needed a way to climb and grab a hold of the edge
You were sitting there holding a rope

And we’ll go up, up, up
But I’ll fly a little higher
We’ll go up in the clouds because the view is a little nicer
Up here my dear
It won’t be long now, it won’t be long now

When I get back on land
Well I’ll never get my chance
Be ready to live and it’ll be ripped right out of my hands
Maybe someday we’ll take a little ride
We’ll go up, up, up and everything will be just fine

And we’ll go up, up, up
But I’ll fly a little higher
We’ll go up in the clouds because the view is a little nicer
Up here my dear

It won’t be long now, it won’t be long now
If only I had a little bit more time
If only I had a little bit more time with you

We could go up, up, up
And take that little ride
And sit there holding hands
And everything would be just right
And maybe someday I’ll see you again
We’ll float up in the clouds and we’ll never see the end

And we’ll go up, up, up
But I’ll fly a little higher
We’ll go up in the clouds because the view is a little nicer
Up here my dear
It won’t be long now, it won’t be long now

My condolences to the the family of Commander Daba-a true soldier-who died on duty-a patriot.

@omen100-

No disrespect to you.In some countries, you would be reprimended, in others you would be jailed-even in his native Austria (where he was born) and Germany where he grew up-for this quote from that BASTARD hitler.
Hitler was the worst, most evil man to EVER live on this Earth. Those who are spiritual believe he was a forerunner to the coming Anti Christ.
There is even a hint of mention of him in the Bible, where he is referred to as 'the hunter'.

Everything he could have done or said was bad.

He is the only human-whom there was not ONE IOTA of good.

Nigerians need to have the opportunity to watch the videos of the massacres he committed. Then we would probably rise up against the mini hitlers that claim to govern us.

Please remove that BASTARD's picture and his occultic symbol.
