Itiskdg121:Wow I recall a few deaths, but had no idea there were that many. A different gas must have been used by US forces when the rescued the US citizen in Sokoto State. With the right non-lethal gas, this option is well worth trying in Oyo State |
This same idea of using gas to sedate hostage takers was used by the Russians back in 2002, when Chechen separatist gunmen held hostage the entire audience attending a performance hostage in a theater in Moscow. When negotiations broke down after an initial gunfight, and the terrorists threatened to blow up the building, the Russian special forces fed a debilitating gas through the heating ducts of the building, which put to sleep all hostages and all captors. With all the gunmen fast asleep, the Russian special forces moved in to revive and evacuate the trapped hostages while systematically killing all the terrorist gunmen where they lay in a stupor. If Femi Falana's account of American special forces using sleeping gas to save an American hostage more recently in Nigeria is true, then the Russian technique has obviously been refined by the Americans, who will be in a position to use the same highly effective method to save the Oyo State school children and their teachers without the need for a gunfight. |
Mali is the home base and headquarters of ISIS and Boko Haram. How on earth these women wound up in an Islamist terror rogue state is a complete mystery. |
ChenHao23:The direction in which the invaders are moving is known, so it ought to be possible to set up an ambush and wipe them out before they can regroup. |
HacheNoire:It is utterly baffling that the same technology used to located the phone of kidnappers in Ibadan after just 3 days, is not being used to locate the kidnappers of the Oyo State children who post regular video messages online. |
shortgun:Ogawa Shotgun, you have forgotten one key point, namely that there was a furious exchange of fire between the kidnappers and the police, following which the police made forcible entry to the building. When shots have ALREADY been fired at the police, then the gloves need to come off, whereby anything that moves is fair game for a blast of AK fire. |
shortgun:That shot into the ceiling was absolutely necessary BECAUSE the suspect's hands could not be seen, meaning that he could have been holding a pistol that was all set to fire. In the position of that police officer, I would have administered at least 3 shots into that ceiling to stop the threat decisively. |
Babangidapikin:That man was the one hiding in the ceiling when the cops broke into the building. He was shot in the rump and that bullet likely hit a major artery so his fate was sealed. If you notice, the man instinctively grabbed his rump when he jumped down from the ceiling, after collecting his round of 7.62 mm in the backside, courtesy of the police officer. |
These gentlemen appear to be suffering from a serious case of death by gunfire. We can see copious amounts of tomato ketchup in the photo. Wishing them a speedy recovery, but if no recovery is possible, then I wish them a speedy journey to meet up with Satan in hell. Good riddance to a few more sub-humans. All kidnappers should be neutralized on sight so that either God or Lucifer can sort out their souls. |

Fake news purveyors in this here Nairaland forum, kindly take note. This dim-witted man who thought he could amuse himself by fabricating news of a fictitious terrorist attack, will now be heading to jail after a fair trial, where he will have adequate time to contemplate his idiocy inspired by joblessness and stunted intellect. |
Better late than never. Send them to collect their 72 virgins, but do so faster next time. |
DomPerignon:This is superb deductive reasoning. This was a meticulously planned abduction of specifically selected targets known to be from a wealthy family. Fulani kidnappers, as you rightly state, are not known to use getaway cars, and are hardly ever known to strike in the middle of a bustling city in southern Nigeria. |
sharpwriter:Religious fanatics are never connected to reality at all. They have no concept of avoiding risk. They leave everything, including common sense, to their sky daddy |
While those kidnapped deserve prompt rescue operations, their church should never have organized any event in a remote location. God will hear prayers that are offered in the privacy of one's home, so there is simply no need to congregate in wilderness areas and thus become a target for kidnappers. Worship all Gods in PRIVATE and stay clear of churches while this war on terror is in progress. |
Kingray10:Nasarawa is deep in the heart of conquered Islamist terror bandit country. You could not pay me a million dollars to spend 5 minutes anywhere in northern Nigeria. |
Moneyyman:Agreed. No more "repentance", or "rehabilitation" for anyone guilty of kidnap or genocide. Death is the only viable sentence to ENSURE they stay repentant forever. |
I cannot think of a more wasteful and utterly pointless way to spend one's time, than to watch 22 men kicking a ball around a field. I can say without hesitation that I have NEVER once in my entire life bothered to watch ANY team sport, since the outcomes ALWAYS boil down to one of three possibilities. 1. Team "A" wins the game, and the fans of that team erupt in frenzied jubilation like a bunch of intoxicated chimpanzees. 2. Team "B" wins the game and the fans also behave like a bunch of overgrown toddlers unleashed into a candy store. 3. There is a draw, and fans of both sides express dissatisfaction while getting drunk and behaving like ululating cretins in the streets. None of the above scenarios holds an iota of interest for me, and I would not care in the slightest if there is never a single team sport held between the present time, and the moment when hell freezes over. I have FAR more productive things to do with my time that witness mass insanity of that nature. |
One wonders how the Oyo State teachers' union will take the recent statement by their incompetent and aloof state governor, that he feels NO sense of responsibility whatsoever, in the rescue of those teachers and primary school children. Now that the Oyo State teacher's union have come to realize that the state governor is content to watch impassively as schools in his state are attacked by Islamist slave raiders, it remains to be seen how that teachers' union responds to this alarming declaration of incompetence by their governor. |
The public relations department of the Oyo State Government have done an appallingly bad job of handling this mass school kidnapping's aftermath. Such a dereliction of duty would be sufficient basis for mass sackings to occur, in a civilized country like Ghana. Even if security agencies had warned the governor not to visit the crime scene due to the risk of a second attack while he was there, it should not have taken THREE WEEKS before the families of the kidnap victims were finally transported to visit the governor at a secured location, so they could learn about whatever measures, if any, were in progress to rescue their loved ones. During the three weeks that the Oyo State governor kept silent while offering lame excuses for his administration's failure to deploy surveillance drones within an hour of the kidnapping, those abducted victims suffered horrendous physical and mental torture, which has likely claimed several children's lives already, in addition to that of the teacher that was beheaded in the presence of all the other captors . One cannot even begin to comprehend the mental and physical trauma those innocent children have continued to endure all this time during which the state governor maintained a stony, arrogant silence when asked by the press about rescue options. |
Incognito403:Holy cow! How can a major invasion of this nature go unreported? With the use of military uniforms by terrorists, the level of terror motorists will experience when they sight a military checkpoint on the road ahead ANYWHERE in Nigeria, will be off the charts. |
Namaster:You have spoken the words that the Nigerian nation needs to hear. You are a person with a conscience, who knows that when one person is dehumanized, an entire nation is dehumanized. |
Fansa25:In fairness to the Nigerian military, this courageous lady principal did mention in a separate video clip that a rescue attempt was made by the military, which was not successful and which then resulted in a new threat by the terrorists that they intend to kill another hostage. Negotiations cannot be ruled out in a bid to buy time, however the military should also plan for a major overwhelming assault on the position of the terrorists as a worst case scenario option. If Nigerian and US special forces opt to launch a raid on this terrorist group once adequate intelligence has been gathered, the bad guys can STILL be caught by surprise with a well planned direct assault launched at an unexpected hour. |
This is a living nightmare unfolding right before our eyes. For the first time, at least, a captive has mentioned that the Nigerian army has indeed approached the location of the abducted victims, and possibly even engaged the terrorists in a firefight. That is good news, but the good news is overshadowed by the deadly warning issued from the terrorists that they have selected the next of their captives to be killed in cold blood. The Nigerian military must urgently seek the US military's help in tracing the phones that are being used to upload these ransom demand videos, to use in creating a new plan of attack that will rescue the hostages with a MINIMUM of collateral damage. This kidnapping of innocent school children in Oyo State, and the gruesome events that have followed that horrible crime, have become a litmus test for the Bola Tinubu presidency, that will show the world just how determined the federal government is in practical terms, to stem the rising tide of terrorism in Nigeria. |
bewla:The Oracle hath spoketh. You speak true words, good sir. True words grounded in reality. |
Napata77:There are so many false assumptions in your capitalized diatribe that I can only wish you a fabulous day, sir. |
Kanu was right about Nigeria being a colonial contrivance for the purpose of looting natural resources, BUT when he escalated his rhetoric to include forcing his own people into house arrest and calling for bloodshed, he became a terrorist, at which point his fate was sealed, just as was that of Simon Ekpa who crossed the same line from ideological separatist to bloodthirsty terrorist by virtue of his speeches and online ranting. Sunday Igboho must take heed of what happened to Kanu and Ekpa, by carefully editing his speeches to exclude anything that could be construed to be a call for bloodshed by civilian militias, under ANY circumstance. |
Nnamdipapa:The character of a government can be ascertained by the way it treats its most vulnerable citizens - namely its children. The stony silence of Nigeria's leadership from the state to the federal level is a tragic indictment laid bare for the world to see. If the brutality meted out to those defenseless children is anything to go by, then one shudders to think of what any adult will face at the hands of those demons from hell. Right after that Oyo State kidnapping,, I even held out hope that the new military alliance between Nigeria and the USA might be showcased in a dramatic and heroic rescue operation conducted by special forces of both nations. That optimistic dream never came to pass. |
The murderers are so confident that they don't even hide their faces in their snuff movies posted online. |
