GEJ should use his constitutional powers to deal with anybody found formenting trouble. Period.
Politics › Re: Editorial: President Jonathan And His Embarrassing Words by jamace(m): 12:47pm On Oct 06, 2010
Just because someone is critical of Jonathan, it doesn't mean the person is being sponsored by IBB. The level of imbecility employed to arrive at that conclusion is staggering. One wonders what kind of change you clowns are talking about if constructive criticism is not allowed.

For the record, I loathe IBB. But we assumed Jonathan would be the answer. A Ph.D holder! The final turning point when a philosopher became king!
Now I and many others are being weighed down by crushing disappointment. More so because we probably will still vote for him, just with less optimism and more cynicism.
Like I said, GEJ has not actually disappointed. He is only zealous in his leadership style, to comply with democratic tenets , that the led must be kept in the know of happenings on time.

The fact is that enemies of the state are putting him under unnecesary pressure in order to discredit him should he staggers. So, he should be forgiven for his zealousness because it is not easy charting a new good course in an already battered terrain infested with crooks who believe in the status quo.

Believe in GEJ for a better Nigeria.

Shalom.

Surely, IBB can not rule Nigeria again. The blood of all those who perish under his evil machinations, right from 1985 to date, are crying against him.

Your master, the evil one and his cabal cannot hold Nigeria hostage.

Time is running out on your evil master, and he will be cooling his asshole in KIRIKIRI soonest.

OP
There is nothing embarassing in GEJ's statement. You don't expect him to keep quiet considering the magnitude of the action of the terrorists.
I feel his zeal to keep Nigerians informed of events and carry every body along made him to make the statement, and that is what demoracy is for.

Again, You have only informed us to give GEJ credit for being able to carry on with the celebration despite the intimidating anti-govt security reports at his disposal. As far as I'm concerned, GEJ has lived up to expectation as a courageous and dynamic man who can lead this nation to the promised land, compared to your expired IBB (apology to EL-rufai), who you are trying to force down our throat, by fire by force.
Politics › Re: Jonathan Cannot Contest, Says Babangida by jamace(m): 9:32am On Oct 06, 2010
If a president is going to bring substantial change, he would be able to achieve this in 1 or 2 yrs, even if it's electricity, that one is enough but goodluck, you have not brought any good luck to nigeria, your administration is actually a setback for nigeria in all areas, from education to sports. This man refuses to blame M.E.N.D for the abuja bombing rather he sees an opportunity for a political agenda. Even after M.E.N.D accepted blame for the event, he refuses to take charge just because they're from the same tribe, what a shame! Nigeria needs a president that is not a coward, a president capable of speaking 4 himself, my goodness FASHOLA would make a better president than GEJ, I would hate it if I.B.B becomes the next president but I'm starting to see a determined man and the most determined of men brings about a revolution, which is exactly what we need here in nigeria. Let's vote for a president that would fight for nigeria, not only his tribe but his country as a whole,
Haba, are you just saying this out of sheer hatred for GEJ? For how long has GEJ been president? Is it that you can no longer remember dates because of hatred for GEJ? Please cool your temper and clear the hatred from your mind so that your senses can function properly.
Politics › Re: We Did Not Bomb Abuja -- M E N D. by jamace(m): 9:14am On Oct 06, 2010
Simple task that GEJ had to complete - rather all hell is let loose due to his incompetence. All he need to do when the bomb was reported was to act on that intel. Ok if he missed it and the bomb did go off, he need to decry such art, beef-up security, address with update (just around the first statement). When MEND claim responsibility - rebuke them with strong warning, arrest some member of MEND (they will come begging - they will even start hunting for whoever among them that was involve). With such actions - the Police will be doing the best they can.

But alas - what did he do:

- He continued his ceremony
- Saw it an opportunity to get at his opponents
- Called Okah to ask MEND to change their story
- Arrested Dokpesi in great expectation of a Vuvuzella from South Africa
- Did not even wait for Okah to do so, hastily went out to tell everyone MEND was not involved
- Since Dokpesi/IBB/Northerners intimidation cannot be sustained (because Okah refused) had to released Dokpesi
- When question came about Dokpesi's arrest, he floated an SMS "na we do am"
- Since Okah did not comply, ask SA to start the Punishment
- Invite Ex-militants to Abuja for a cup of coffee and a group chat
- Talked them to come and denial MEND claim

Expect Season Two - as events unfold.
So, you had expected GEJ to suspend the celebration because of the threat, eh? Do you know the political point they would have scored had GEJ truncated the celebration?

My brother, why are you are joking with a serious national issue of this nature? Why continue to look the other way when a group of people who do not wish Nigeria well are out to frustrate GEJ inorder to label him inexperience, naive and incompetent. I'm shocked that you have even joined them in calling GEJ incompetent. Don't you think they are only trying to give a dog a bad name inorder to hang it?

Don't forget that these Northern politicians have been issuing threats left, right and center, that they will ensure Nigeria becomes ungovernable for GEJ should he indicate interest to contest the 2011 presidential elections. Don't you think they are fulfilling that threat through one disgruntled element called Okah?

My prayer is that GEJ should ensure ANYBODY involved in that dastardly act of bombing and any other national sabotage be dealt with decisively. Enough of this rubbish.

http://allafrica.com/stories/200908110001.html
was written on 10 August 2009.

These 2 writeups were opinions expressed prior to the acceptance of the Amnesty Program by MEND.

Recall that MEND was given 4 October 2009 deadline to accept the Amnesty Program by  the govt. MEND leaders and footsoldiers accepted the program, after some hesitations and delays.

Check the following threads for more clarifications:
www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-324759.0.html
www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-332460.0.html
www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-332028.0.html

I assume you have read the above threads. It is clear that MEND has accepted the Amnesty Program.

Now, if you are convinced that MEND accepted the Amnesty Program, who is this self-acclaimed faceless spokesperson, GBOMO JOMO,  issuing threats left, right center on behalf of MEND?

My conclusion is this:
The members of MEND that we know have denied LIVE ( in FLESH AND BLOOD on NTA Network News) any  involvement in blast. Some people are just using that name as a camouflage to carry out their threats.

Instead of instigating a full dialogue with MEND, these people will come out with measures to protect themselves inside a cocoon.
Which MEND are you talking about here again? MEND is not the one one troubling us with bombs. All MEND leaders and some of the foot soldiers were shown LIVE on NTA Network News (9pm) yesterday when they came to pay solidarity visit and denied involvement or link with the bombings.

Take note that a group has threatened and promised to make governance impossible for GEJ should he continue with his ambition to contest for presidential election 2011. I have no doubt they are the one doing this. Read here:
