Sowore no doubt. I think this year is not for him but at this rate, 2023 could easily be his. If bubu steps down though, its sowore for sure. Atiku will destroy nigeria

Where is the database and system to record the voters and votes as against those who missed.

Dreamer, you can't run such high tech bro, not now, not in next 5 years.

You don't even have a database for people living in Nigeria and Nigerian citizens.

Abeg shift

Inec already has a voters database that could be synched with federal and state government service providers e.g employment, hospitals etc. Just pass a legislative bill that non-voters would be denied access or limited to public services likes employment into government jobs, access to healthcare, admission to a public institution, running for a political office etc.

Anytime a person needs one of this services, his/her voter's card number is run through the database to check if the person had participated in the last election failure of which the service is denied until a specified fine is paid!

Its not rocket science

To be very honest. The suggestion by the OP is something that can reform elections in this country significantly! No more accredited and non-accredited voters. Election fraud is reduced to a bare minimum. Only problem i see would be with nigerians living abroad gaming the system to over vote but the number of votes which should be less than a million is negligible i suppose

How are you superior when you can't get visa?
How are you superior when you slept all night without fan or AC because NEPA take light?.
How are you superior when you are struggling to get citizenship of another man's country?
How are you superior when you cant hold meeting or seminar in Lagos, Johannesburg or Accra except New York and London.
How are you superior when our brothers and sister in sports are representing white race? How many white people nationalize to your so called superior B.S.

I repeat. Any meeting, conference or seminar of this kind benefits only the organizers and participants not Africa.

Africans are inferior and hypocrites... USA is not Africa. What happen to Lagos, Accra, Johannesburg, Nairobi, Conakry, Dakar, Abidjan etc.
We like other people's stuffs and don't like ours.

Any meeting, conference or organization arranged in the name of Africa, held outside Africa does not benefit poor people, it benefits only the organizers and participants.

Even though you dont deserve any iota of a response from a sane human. You and people around you maybe be absolutely inferior to other humans. But NEVER in your entire pathetic existence refer to africans with that derogatory term ever. Else Sango olukoso strikes you straight to the hottest part of hell!! He already answered this question with the 'an apple does not fall far from the tree' post but you keep repeating same argument. Everyone around the world are very much aware of trump's position on immigration. Saying this is unrelated to his policies is absolute nonsense

ttmacoy:
You claim to be open minded and yet you jump to the conclusion it's because if Trump's policy despite you having no proof.

If you were open minded you would step back and also try to look at it from the VO view.

If I sent you that summit link as it is and told you hey looks like an interesting summit you should attend are you telling me you will pay for it despite the fact no clear information on past events and speakers or outcomes, no clear information on past business deals,l from past events, no information on speakers, topics etc you will just go and pay?

You don't take a girl to meet your mom on the first date do you? You get to know them first then figure out if you even want to ask them out on a second date. You see that's how the business world works. You first listen to the proposition about what you are selling to you then after the presentation, you can decide If you want to know more. If Rwandans want me to come and invest in there country. They will have to convince me very well first before I even consider taking a flight there. This is how business is usually done. Not everyone is willing to just take a plane and fly halfway across the world for a summit when they probably have other things to do. This is just an introductory 'get to know you' kind of thing not let's meet your parents kind of thing.

Brain dey your head joor wink

Even Valve has threatened to move Dota 2 and other video game tournaments out of the US because of the visa crackdown:

http://www.polygon.com/2017/2/9/14571570/dota-2-international-tournament-visas-trump-immigration

Not to mention the drop in tourists to the US because of Trump. Anyone that still doesnt see that Trump is destroying America, day by day is either completely retarded or lives in an alternate reality.

Note: DOTA tourny is one of the largest sporting events in the US. It makes long standing sports like golf and tennis look pretty pathetic in some respects. It has tens of millions of viewers, tens of millions of players and the prize is in the tens of millions of USD

Travel / African Business Summit In US has No African Delegates. Their Visas Were Denied by jameseva: 7:15pm On Mar 19, 2017
Each year, the University of Southern California brings delegations from Africa to meet with business leaders, government officials and others in the U.S. But this year, the African summit has no Africans. All were denied visas.

Visa issues are not uncommon for people traveling from African nations. During her prior three summits, Mary Flowers saw a high percentage of her attendees at the African Global Economic and Development Summit, unable to attain visas.

"Usually we get 40 percent that get rejected but the others come," said Flowers, chair of the African Global Economic and Development Summit. "This year it was 100 percent. Every delegation. And it was sad to see, because these people were so disheartened."

Flowers estimated that she lost about 100 attendees, including speakers and government officials. The countries affected included Sierra Leone, Guinea, Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia and South Africa.

'A discrimination issue'

"I have to say that most of us feel it's a discrimination issue with the African nations," said Flowers. "We experience it over and over and over, and the people being rejected are legitimate business people with ties to the continent."

A request for comment from the State Department was not immediately returned.

Flowers said those who were denied visas were called for embassy interviews just days before they were supposed to travel, despite having applied weeks or even months ahead of time.

One of those denied a visa was Prince Kojo Hilton, a Ghanaian artist whose work includes special effects and graphic art. He paid his $500 fee to attend the event and was asked to lead a session on filmmaking. But he held off buying his plane ticket until his appointment at the embassy on March 13, four days before he was supposed to travel.

"I was really disappointed when I went to the embassy," Hilton said in an interview with VOA.

Travel ban

It remains unclear why all of the Africans heading to the event were denied visas this year.

Diane E. Watson, who formerly represented a Los Angeles-area district in Congress, said she had called the State Department to ask for information about the denial of visas for would-be delegates to the USC summit. But the State Department isn't allowed to discuss individual visa cases.

With the heightened attention on foreign nationals coming to the U.S., there have been stories of more visas being denied to people from countries other than those named in the Trump administration's executive orders. But visas are routinely denied by U.S. embassies without explanation.

If there has been an increase in the number of visas rejected under the new administration, it's hard to verify. The publicly available State Department data dates only to late 2016.

How long will nigeria continue to operate in this evidently failed system of sharing resources to the state when it should actually be the other way round. A primary school dropout can actually run a state in nigeria as he needs not think of any way to make money and run the state. All he has to do is wait for monthly allowee from the federal govt, pass that along to workers and infrastructure development (or loot)! Wash & rinse. Lagos is the only place remotely close to how a state should be run.. others are basically just landmasses with people.

Until this is corrected, and the states are ultimately allowed to manage and run themselves. I seriously foresee no reasonable development in Nigeria.

I didnt support GEJ for the sole reason that he had 6 years to correct this mess and didnt. Using it as a campaign tool after 6 years was absolute shiit

Religion / Apostle Suleman: Queen Esther's Accusation, A Deflective But Well Timed Story by jameseva: 12:47pm On Mar 13, 2017
To be honest guys, I call bullshit on this one! That anonymous lady to me seems more like an orchestrated attempt to make the ongoing situation appear more as political persecution rather than truthful allegations. While you are very free to believe her stories, any faceless anonymous source can claim to have incriminating information about the ongoing situation with Suleman.

The real suspect here that I expect critical thinkers to see through almost immediately is, Requesting security from Kaduna State Government and not the federal government, Police or even her State government. She could absolutely have requested protection from ANY of the 36 state governments and several security agencies in the country but conveniently chose Kaduna just when the pastor's defense team are pushing the witch hunt narrative.

Without a shred of evidence and appearance like the main accuser. Its an acted script to dilute the waters I strongly believe.

I must admit it is a pretty good move from the pastor's team though wink

It is possible but that is not the case here.
The style of presentation of the writeup is consistent with that of a username here, she told her story but had expressed concerns about her safety should she come out open. I believed her story and could read her fears in her write ups. She has a thread here

My simple advice for her is to lie low if she is not assured of her protection. As for the Spiritual attacks she feared, the truth is that men are not God otherwise Mallam El- Rufai would have been dead by now with all the prophecies fired at him. One Prophet Chris gave him 6 weeks to Live early last year.

Sorry but I still call bullshit on this one. While you are very free to believe her stories, any faceless anonymous source can claim to have incriminating information about the ongoing situation. To be honest, That anonymous lady to me seems more like an orchestrated attempt to make the whole situation look more like a political witch hunt. I can smell conspiracies from a mile, and a lady asks specifically for the kaduna state government's (not the federal government or her state government) protection without any prior indication from same government that it was protecting the previous accuser.

Sounds like someone is trying desperately to stick to a script of political involvements in the said scandal. Probably hired an actress to make silly accusations as well request protection from a government he is trying to stick the 'political witch hunt' story to.

This though, the success, despite being enhanced by brilliant minds and their contributions (with certain threads spanning over 15 pages of intelligent discourse), had over the last few years attracted a bunch of mediocre and irrational fellas

While I still visit nairaland almost every12hours like i did in the good times (its an addiction), Its extremely difficult to read beyond page 1 of any thread as that one page alone is already filled with vapid posts!

How I miss the good times!! Not RIP (nairaland is going no where) but damn! I am not the website's biggest fan, not anymore!
