I don’t think Nigerians will frown at paying any form of taxes if we are seeing its effects. Please, tell me in case I missed it one thing that our taxes has bettered for us? Education? Health? Quality of life? Transportation? Feeding? Security? quote author=FreeStuffsNG post=132061715]The fee has been reduced very very significantly from 0.5% to 0.005% (almost zero percent!) in order not to throw away the baby with the bath water and help FG deliver on the purpose meant for the fund. 0.005% on N100k (one hundred thousand naira) for example is a paltry N5 (five naira) and N50 charge on N1 million naira so it makes absolute sense, low and fair enough in my opinion. Most transactions of the poor range between N1k and N100k so the highest a poor person will pay as cybercrime fee is N5 and lowest is 5 kobo! There's so much at risk so there must be deliberate effort to sustain the security architecture around this crime. May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!
|
Does making heaven mean anything to you? If yes, then stop waiting to be begged or pampered to serve YAHWEH. You don’t need to be pampered to pursue your life goals, even though those goals are temporary, right? So why do you expect to be pampered or begged to pursue heaven, which is eternal? "Please, ensure you pray daily." "Ejoor, read your Bible daily." "Biko, serve the Lord with all your heart." "Abeg, know God for yourself and be faithful to Him." I can’t recall any of my lecturers coming to class and saying: "Guys, please study hard and, biko, try to attend lectures so you can pass your exams." Not once. Yet, ministers of the gospel are constantly pleading with you to do what’s necessary for something of eternal value. A time is coming when these pleas will stand as a witness. When Jesus said that following Him involves denying yourself and taking up your cross daily, He wasn’t suggesting it as a hobby. No, it’s a calling, part of our profession. Please know this: If you are truly a Christian, you are a soldier, not a civilian. Growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ requires taking personal responsibility. Don’t wait to be spoon-fed; there’s only so much those who feed you can do to help you grow in stature and wisdom. Invest in your own growth. Never forget, this is a personal race. You will be accountable to the Judge of all the earth at the end of time. So be intentional about carrying your cross daily. Let go of worldliness—you can’t love YAHWEH and the world at the same time. Strive to practice what you’re taught, in line with Scripture, by yourself and for yourself. You can’t be a part-time Christian and expect to defeat a full-time devil. Serving YAHWEH isn’t a side hustle. It’s our profession—yes, it’s the main hustle. Treat it as such as you work out your salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). Shalom. |
We have to give credit to those from the South West who didn’t allow themselves to be blinded by ethnic sentiments, or political affiliations. .quote author=babasolution post=132054581]Tinubu oversaw the coming of Buhari and his misrule for 8 years and people thought he was coming to do anything different? I lost totally my respect for SW after 2023
|
Following the U.S. election buildup and watching the debate between VP Kamala Harris and ex-president Donald Trump stirred up familiar feelings. Yeah! The constant shifting of blame between political figures was on full display. Kamala persistently blamed Trump for the current U.S. economic woes, even though he’s no longer in power and he left the economy stable despite the challenges of COVID. It felt strikingly similar to the political atmosphere in Nigeria, where APC keeps finding ways to point fingers at Mr. Peter Obi for Nigeria’s present economic issues, and at the PDP, which had long stepped down from leadership. Watching this back-and-forth, I was stunned. Trump, of all people, was on the defensive while Kamala went on the attack—roles that should have been reversed. But the moment that hit hardest was Trump’s closing question: “Why haven’t you done all you’re promising now? You’re literally in power. What’s stopping you?” This question echoed a sentiment I had during President Tinubu’s campaign. Back then, I wondered: “If he’s so confident in these grand promises, why isn’t he pushing for them while he has access to President Buhari? Why didn’t he challenge Buhari’s administration for its failures?” It’s clear: those who voted for Tinubu can’t claim surprise at the current state of affairs, just like Democrats who’ll rally behind Kamala cannot ignore the present reality. The truth is, nations suffer because of selfish decisions, when people knowingly place incapable and incompetent leaders in power. The clues are always there—always. For those willing to see, they’re impossible to ignore. And the real question becomes: Will we keep pretending not to notice? Or will we finally act before it's too late? Shalom |
Your lot are determined to give Nigerian ladies a name that isn’t befitting. Whatever your reason for despising sanctity and virtue in ladies, don’t rope other ladies in. Always always speak for yourself. You don’t try to undermine Nigerian men by making Nigerian ladies look vain. There’s no wisdom in that. Candidlady: |

The government school teachers are on a minimum wage of 70k under the same administration that expects them to manage yet the same school owned by the government that were literally forced to pay minimum wage increase school fees to what their employees cannot handle for their ward. Where are their employees supposed to get the school fees from? The same government that gets support for Universal Basic Education to the tune of billions of naira cannot subsidize education in an economy bloated by the inflation they caused from their sick policy. Yet you applaud the madness. You are purely insensitive and I dare add, selfish. All giving in the New Testament must be motivated by love, else there is no reward for it. Give to God because you love Him and want the furtherance of the Kingdom not because you are scared that something bad will happen to you if you don’t. We should offer ourselves first as a living sacrifice. Giving your body to be burned without being motivated by Love is error. quote author=adenigga post=131842009] https://www.facebook.com/share/r/M3whcTNXB76vJNKg/?mibextid=oFDknk Source: https://dailypost.ng/We-sacked-staff-shut-down-TV-Damina-on-financial-struggles-after-members-stopped-tithing
|

Is marriage the goal, or is it about finding the right person to marry? Because the truth is, there are countless married women who are deeply unhappy. While I hold marriage in high regard, I firmly believe that if a woman isn't content while she's single, she'll never find happiness in marriage. This is often the root cause of many marital problems. Too many singles rush into marriage, expecting their spouse to fill a void within them. They put off their own happiness, only to feel even more frustrated when their partner falls short of their expectations. Marriage isn't about completing you—it's about complementing who you already are. If you can't feel whole as a single person, that emptiness will follow you into marriage. Shinjawestern: |
**Whose Idea is Church?** It was a calm Saturday evening, and the sky was painted with hues of twilight. Birds fluttered to their nests, and butterflies danced among the flowers, bidding the day farewell. It was a perfect backdrop for a walk and a chat. "Let's go minister to those guys over there," I suggested to Halimat, pointing across the street as we took a stroll. "Hmmm... abeg, let’s leave them. They look kinda aggressive," Halimat observed, her eyes reflecting concern. "You are right, but I feel impressed that we should still share with them. Who knows?" I proffered, feeling a nudge of conviction. "Ok, I'm right beside you," Halimat said, chuckling as we crossed the road to a Bet Naija shop where some guys were hanging around. "Good evening, all; how are you doing today?" we greeted. One of the young men looked at us as if processing who we were and then said: “Aunties, abeg make una leave us with church o. I no go come. All those una pastors wey dey drive private jets when their church members dey hungry.", a guy who identified as Joseph said. "Dem no go visit you ask whether you don chop, dem go dey ask for offering," another guy said in passing and hissed. "For this hard economy o. Their father," a dark stout guy joined in, vehemently angry for no reason. "I hear say some pastors get 10 private jets, just one person o. Which car Jesus drive? No be donkey e bin dey use?" Joseph rejoined. As their rantings heated, Halimat started nudging me that we should leave. I smiled at her but kept listening to the guys as I quietly prayed for wisdom on how best to defend the gospel. Then, from beside me, Halimat said abruptly, "Can I ask you guys a question?" "Aunty, shoot, we dey listen," they chorused. "Whose idea is church? Man or God?" "Na Oyinbo idea na. We bin dey alright before dem come deceive us with their religion," the dark stout guy replied, holding our gaze. When I noticed we had gotten their attention, I quickly chipped in: “Sirs, God has been good to all of us; seeing that we have life. This means that hope exists. We didn't come to preach church but Christ, and we urge you to indulge us.” "Oh... ok. Make una no tell us about church sha because una no sabi show love," the dark stout guy said, still fuming. We prayed and then shared with them our convictions, admonishing them on the coming judgment and why they need to embrace Christ. When we finished, Joseph embraced Christ and we got his contact to follow up on him for service the next day. As we bade them goodbye, a guy who had barely spoken all through our discourse asked: "Na which church una dey attend? I go like come tomorrow." “I for no mind escort am come sha," the dark stout guy, Opeyemi, quickly interjected. “Wow… That will be nice,” Halimat said, truly excited as she got their contacts. “Well, just so you all know, our pastor doesn’t ride on a donkey o,” I mentioned, avoiding their gaze. At this, Halimat gave me a soft blow on my shoulder that made us both chuckle. --- The concept of church, as Halimat tried to explain, is not a man's concept. It is God's idea. So, every time we encounter a false teacher or prophet or are bombarded with the 'excesses' that flood Christendom, it surely points to one thing: Genuine ministers and churches exist. The One who came to establish the Kingdom of Heaven on earth was the One who talked about building His church and coming to rapture a church without spot or wrinkle. This tells us that the Church is not man's invention. It is a community of believers—individuals or groups of individuals who have accepted Christ—the global church. Now, imagine having a disjointed body with hands in Sokoto, teeth in Lagos, nose in Calabar, and legs somewhere in Abuja. That body cannot function maximally unless its parts are intact and together. This is the concept behind the gathering of believers. If you are a part of Christ indeed, then you have a role to identify with the other parts of His Body to make a functional whole. Your role in the Body of Christ is critical. Everyone's role is. Your presence as you show up 'jejely' in an assembly may be all the responsibility you need to take, and someone might be encouraged to trust YAHWEH in their circumstance. This role, as simple as it seems, could be akin to the critical role the blood vessels play in your body. If you are angry at the excesses that plague the Church, you have a good cause. Yet, it is not enough to alienate yourself from a church assembly. Apostle Paul was an apologist, and in Jude 1:3, we are called to make a defense for the gospel and call out false teachings, not alienate ourselves from the Body. Please, know this: As long as the Church is in the world, and it is made up of imperfect people like you and me, we won't have a perfect church on earth. One thing I can say for certain is this: There is a church for everyone. If you don't like a church with a ministry private jet, well, some churches don’t collect offerings and whose overseers walk on foot. (Finding one who rides on a donkey may just be kinda hard in our clime, but who knows?) My point is this: Don't be in any place that does not resonate with your perception of the Christian faith, so you don't keep complaining and poison your outlook on life. But by all means, locate a church assembly where you are accepted for who you are and continually encourage you to search scriptures for yourself. If Jesus called the temple His Father's house even when He knew YAHWEH is in heaven, you can't be a Christian and be serving YAHWEH in your bedroom—alone. You may not go to hell for abandoning church, but you may miss out on discipleship, fellowship, discipline, accountability, and community. Yeah! A true church offers all of these and more. It plays a vital role in ensuring you find purpose and live it out. Most importantly, make heaven. I'm so glad I belong to an assembly of saints, and gladder that my name is in the Lamb’s book of life Do join this chariot if you haven’t. There’s still room in the inn. Shalom. |
These are things the protest should have projected. Instead of an ambiguous title of EndBadGovernance. risos: |

Thank God the policies aren't affecting just a sect. Keep making it about tribalism. There are no special treatments for your lots. Nigerians aren't upset with the government because there is hunger, but in the midst of the hunger, the insensitivity of government expenditure on frivolities is where our pain lies. If it is hard indeed, lets all show solidarity. Let us hear that these are the sacrifices those in the helms of affairs are making. When someone has good intentions, it cannot be hidden. Every tribe stood to vote MKO Abiola. The Igbos voted massively for Obasanjo. Yorubas didn't. If they desire to vote for their own after supporting other tribes for so long where is their crime in that? Aren't they part of Nigeria? I am not Igbo. I voted Peter Obi because I saw through him and knew he means well. Plus, his antecedence were clear. If you aren't impressed by his CV as governor of Anambra, then you are corrupt. As long as we have your lots with a sickly mentality of this nature, progress in Nigeria can never happen. strangest: |
As much as I want to agree with you, I can't. You see, the Nigerian system ba is what is coming into play here. They aren't telling us the real cause of the drama. It will interest you to know that this could all be a matter of how much percentage would go into a particular pocket as bribe. Now, he either plays game or his refinery is grounded. Neither this Dangote not the NNPCL players have Nigerians in mind. Know this and you won't have time to make case for anyone of these corrupt beings. It is a Nigerian factor. The davodyguy: |

Is Alex Otti more popular than Peter Obi? Are you sleep writing or something? And I should think that you should know that these statements were made individually not like they had a discourse. Allow tte man to breathe. Philipponzaghi: |

Can you defend your statement in a court of law that the Igbos have imported ammunitions to orchestrate war? Tribalistic bigot! TollinsN: |
Interesting! Which election will you use to remove them? I guess that’s your way of saying in a democracy, the citizenry has the power to vote in and vote out. If this is what you implied, would you say the citizens voted in this administration? Truthfully? Well, in a matter of years, you would realize without reasonable doubts that we don’t have the power to vote in. Yeah! Just like the military regime. If you think that Tinubu is President Jonathan who allowed a free and fair elections, you had got to think again. Just so you know: Presently, the judiciary is compromised, and the legislature answers to the executive. These should have been distinct and separate arms of government, but like in a military regime, they do not exist. The legislative and judicatory echos what the executive says. I can promise you that the election of 2027 is already rigged. Tinubu doesn’t know how to handle loss so he will bring himself back whether you want him or not. Now, before you argue, check out Lagos. And so, technically we are in a military regime. quote author=Cromagnon post=131087303] What military regime has done well Name one You think you are wise to cut your nose to spite your face Let's say worse military gain power, what will you do then Which election will you use to remove them Do you think before talking
|
I like the protest. Much more than protesting against the government, how about the youths taking their destinies into their hands and create a strategy against these bandits that have hijacked our roads and making means from banditry. Cry all we want, they are all youths like us. If they can strategize to kidnap our loved ones and demand huge sums from us not those in power who have made lives miserable, then, they are our enemies. They aren’t asking government for ransoms. They aren’t kidnapping those in power. Then, they may be empowered by them. This is why we need to rise up and take our destinies into our hands- if we are waiting for those who are in power who are possibly fueling banditry by taking monies from the poor to finance banditry, we may all be finished before we realize it. Youths! Youths!! Youths!!! It isn’t time for tribal sentiments. Smell the coffin, will you? |
Hmmm… The thread isn’t about you. Don’t be self-centered, please. Imagine the number of I’s and My’s used in one comment for a thread that wasn’t intended for you. Haba! I believe the redemption of Nigeria starts from thinking less of ourselves. We are talking of humans who were kidnapped and we are making it about tribes and others are making it about themselves. By the time we all wake up from our tribal, religious, self-centered, and political affiliations to start thinking of fighting as one, I pray there will still be a Nigeria left to fight for. quote author=Blitzking post=131087116]The more reason nysc should be scrapped...I made sure I didn't serve in any other place...my orientation camp was 5mins drive to my house as camp finish enter my apartment wey I lock for 2weeks plus. Petty crimes aren’t committed any longer. What we do now are kidnapping with huge ransoms of hundreds of millions requested. Some few days ago, a family of about 6 who were kidnapped and paid over N300m were at the facility for check up and so this isn’t news. All these money being collected, is why we should fear for what’s coming. But behold, the IGP is claiming crime rate has declined. When we lie to ourselves by ourselves, you wonder what the way forward is. Newlymarried: |
