Nigerians are just good at complaining. Able bodied male youths who simply gossip about their economy. I know ladies gossip, but when guys only talk without proffering solutions on way forward, it is boring. Leaders of tomorrow, threads of these nature should compel change and encourage strategies to birth them. I come in peace. JAOS: |
You don’t see the implication of this? After Tinubu finishes this 4 year tenure, the bill takes effect after he is re-elected at the polls. So we are looking at Tinubu and his associates ruling for 10years. VinnyBaba: |
I don’t know what you mean by Obidients, but if it means speaking up for the soul of Nigeria, then I am gladly one. You folks think Nigeria is a joke that’s why you would make everything about sentiments. You truly applaud the happenings in Nigeria because you want to prove a point against Obidients? You have time to speak up for the truth. We understand you made a wrong political choice. But if you keep up closing your eyes to the woes of this nation, my prayer is that you and all that concerns you will rep a thousand folds the seeds of its failure when it comes tumbling. No matter where you run to, the recompense for evil borne from the cries of souls who are dying and have died due to the compromises of government will rest upon you. On that day of reckoning, you seek to recant but it will be too late. Jayhome24: |
Yeah! With taxpayers money. No one was tried and convicted that would have been my definition of justice. In the end, the government didn’t lose anything. Zuby45: |
And the government is going to use tax payers money to compensate the victims. In the end was there really any action taken against the Nigerian government? I don’t think so. They did eat their cake and have it! Sad. Nazgul: |
Let me ask: How many poor has benefitted from the taxes being paid to the state? Yet your problem is the offerings collected by religious bodies. Same offerings that you don't indulge is the one you want regulated. Hear me please: The Church is not the problem of Nigeria, the government is. I figure that if the government provides for the electorate, they won't go about harassing God to give them what their government should have provided. Yeah! They will serve God genuinely and not for material gains. So tackle your government and let the Church breath. quote author=Curious345 post=130840591]Is that redeem church ? The NAtional assembly should pass a law empowering the state to take 50% of church and mosque earnings. That money should be used to cater for the social welfare of the poor
|
I believe their record is based on reported cases. quote author=Slytiger post=130817252] Even the people that IPOB alone killed in 2023 is more than 500.
|
This is a function of one’s mindset. It isn’t the same for everyone— thought to mention. quote author=mu2sa2 post=130804487]Surrogacy is good, no doubt. But let's face it, the child you carried in your womb 9 months can never be the same in your heart as an adopted child. That child is a part of you, flesh and blood. Trying to birth a child naturally isn't an unnecessary risk, but even if it is, it's worth taking.
|
Which economic bailout? How did the economy get to a point where it needs bailout? Isn’t that what you should be asking instead of quickly proffering that a bill that challenges sexual sanctity, chastity, sovereignty and saneness be adopted? So after they sell our sovereignty and our strong values against LGBT for economic bailout funds that will be stolen and misused by greedy politicians what happens next when the bailout funds finishes? They will probably come ask that we give our kids for prostitution and you will opt that the bull be signed for another economic bailout funds, right? This is why we are where we are because of people who think with their noses. You need to reassess why it is so easy for you to propose selling our values as a nation for bread. Because my analysis is that you are either rift of values yourself and can sell it for a porridge or you are gay. Yeah! This refers to all those who liked your comment as well. You need to quote author=victory36 post=130786480]Honestly, of it will bring an economic bailout of some sort, then we had better sign it. Better to live with gays than live in hopelessness and poverty
|
It was a calm Saturday evening, and the sky was painted with hues of twilight. Birds fluttered to their nests, and butterflies danced among the flowers, bidding the day farewell. It was a perfect backdrop for a walk and a chat. "Let's go minister to those guys over there," I suggested to Halimat, pointing across the street as we took a stroll. "Hmmm... abeg, let’s leave them. They look kinda aggressive," Halimat observed, her eyes reflecting concern. "You are right sha, but I feel impressed that we should still share with them. Who knows?" I proffered, feeling a nudge of conviction. "Ok ooo, I'm right beside you," Halimat said, chuckling as we crossed the road to a Bet Naija shop where some guys were hanging around. "Una good evening o, how are you all doing today?" we greeted. One of the young men looked at us as if processing who we were and then said, "Aunties, abeg make una leave us with church o. I no go come. All those una pastors wey dey drive private jets when their church members dey hungry." "Dem no go visit you ask whether you don chop, dem go dey ask for offering," another guy said, in passing. "For this hard economy o. Their father," a dark stout guy joined in, vehemently angry for no reason. "I hear say some pastors get 10 private jets, just one person o. Which car Jesus drive? No be donkey e bin dey use?" Joseph rejoined. As their rantings heated, Halimat started pinching me that we should leave. I smiled at her but kept listening to the guys as I quietly analyzed how best to defend the gospel. Then, from beside me, Halimat said abruptly, "Can I ask you guys a question?" "Aunty, shoot, we dey listen," they chorused. "Whose idea was church? Man or God?" "Na Oyinbo idea na. We bin dey alright before dem come deceive us with their religion," the dark stout guy, replied. When I noticed we’ve gotten their attention, I quickly chipped in, "My brothers, God has been good to us seeing that we have life. This means that hope exists. We didn't come to preach church but Christ, and if you'll indulge us, let us pray." "Oh.. ok ooo. Make una no tell us about church sha because church don show us pepper. Even the Jesus sef, no be Oyinbo man? But make I just listen to una first," the dark stout guy said, fuming. And by His grace, we shared with them from our convictions and when we finished praying with them, Joseph asked: "Na which church una dey attend? I go like come tomorrow." "I no mind escort am come sha," the dark stout guy named Opeyemi, added with a sheepish smile. “Well, just so you guys know, our Overseer doesn’t ride on a donkey o”, I mentioned rolling my eyes. At this, we all burst into laughter. ——- The concept of church as Halimat tried to explain is not a man's concept. It is God's idea. So, every time we encounter a false teacher or prophet, or are bombarded with the 'excesses' that flood Christendom, it should point us to the existence of genuine ministers and, invariably, churches. The One who came to establish the Kingdom of Heaven on earth was the One who talked about building His church and coming to rapture a church without spot or wrinkle. This tells us that the Church is not man's invention. It is a community of believers—individuals or groups of individuals who have accepted Christ. Imagine having a disjointed body with hands in Sokoto, teeth in Lagos, a nose in Calabar, and legs somewhere in Abuja. Your body cannot function maximally unless its parts are intact and together. This is the concept behind the gathering of believers. If you are a part of Christ indeed, then you have a role to identify with the other parts of His Body to make a functional whole. Your role in the Body of Christ is critical. Everyone's role is. Your calm presence as you show up 'jejely' in an assembly may be all the responsibility you need to take, and someone might be encouraged to trust YAHWEH in their circumstance. This role, as simple as it seems, could be akin to the critical role the blood vessels play in your body. If you are angry at the excesses that plague the Church, you have a good cause. Yet, it is not enough to alienate yourself from a church assembly. Apostle Paul was an apologist, and in Jude 1:3, we are called to make a defense for the gospel, not alienate ourselves from the Body. Please know this: As long as the Church is in the world, and it is made up of imperfect people like you and me, we won't have a perfect church on earth. One thing I can say for certain is this: There is a church for everyone. If you don't like a church whose overseer has a private jet, well there are churches that don’t collect offerings and with overseers who walk on foot. (Finding one who rides on a donkey may just be kinda hard in our clime, but who knows?) My point is this, though: Don't be in any place that does not resonate with your perception of the Christian faith, so you don't keep complaining and miss out on the blessing, but by all means, locate a church assembly. If Jesus called the temple His Father's house even when He knew YAHWEH is in heaven, you can't be a Christian and be serving YAHWEH in your parlor—alone. You may not go to hell for abandoning church, but you may miss out on discipleship, accountability, an opportunity to be a blessing to others and be blessed as well. I'm so glad I belong to an amazing church family. Do you? |
1 Samuel 15:18 And the LORD sent you on a mission and told you, 'Go and COMPLETELY DESTROY the sinners, the Amalekites, until they are all dead.' 1 Samuel 15:19 Why haven't you obeyed the LORD? Why did you rush for the plunder and do what was evil in the LORD's sight?" 1 Samuel 15:20 "But I did obey the LORD," Saul insisted. "I carried out the mission He gave me. I brought back King Agag, but I destroyed everyone else. 1 Samuel 15:21 Then my troops brought in the best of the sheep, goats, cattle, and plunder to sacrifice to the LORD your God in Gilgal." ---- As I studied these verses, I realized how I'm a lot like Saul. YAHWEH gives me an instruction and I carry it out in the way it most appeals to me. Then, I come back with biblical references backing up why I couldn't follow YAHWEH's instruction to the letter. For one: Years ago, I used to pray down fire and brimstone upon those in the helm of affairs in this nation. In my mind, I was interceding for Nigeria's liberation. I would pray something like this whilst crying profusely and seriously broken: "Baba Lord...see the kidnappings happening in this country. Father, see the hardship. You can't keep watching o. Ha! You can't keep watching. You are our only deliverer. Deliver Nigeria from the mad men seated in Aso Rock. Let them sleep and never wake up. Yes Lord, rain down acid mixed with brim stone on their beds tonight, you said in your word, you are the one that kills and makes alive (1 Samuel 2:6)..." When I finish lambasting them in prayers for the terror they have made out of Nigeria, I will hear a nudge in my spirit: I said pray for those in authority (1 Timothy 2:1-2). And I will be like: "Lord not in this case o. Baba... didn't you say in your word that ...? Now, the word of GOD demands our full obedience at least to the level of our understanding. But like Saul, even when we know we are clearly going against God's word, we still come up with excuses to defend our heresies and invariably, our pride. Will you recant a wrong doctrine you have fed YAHWEH's flock with if you are convicted of your error? Saul was told he was in error consistently, but he still came up with excuses to justify his actions. And that was why his replacement was sought, not just because he disobeyed YAHWEH's instruction. If you are a Christian, His Spirit will always convict you of sin. When His Spirit does, what is your attitude to His correction? He said forgive that person who hurt you and let go and you are quoting scriptures of why the person deserves death. Before we cast aspersion at Saul, let's first ask for grace to act differently in our daily lives. I believe that's why the Bible exists for our reproof and instruction. As 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work." Shalom. |
The scriptural verse that states that Jesus was the first angel created by YAHWEH and the verse of scripture that states he is the chief of all angels MaxInDHouse: |
I truly appreciate your thoughts. Albeit, respect has to be hinged on something. God may have made man the head over the woman. But her submission cannot be imposed, it must be earned. Deep respect is a result of responsible leadership. It takes two to tangle and that is why the Bible reckons that two heads are better than one. If the male and female gender understand their roles and mind their lanes, we would have marriages that are enviable. It is through wisdom, knowledge and understanding that a marriage gets its full expression. Again, thanks for your contribution. MaxInDHouse: |
You truly need redemption and fast. Unfortunately, I can’t help you, only YAHWEH can. How can someone who claim to be sane spew out vileness in a public space? This beats me. Why do you embarrass your parents like this? Pathetic! 4KNGOATS: |
The Israelites rejected YAHWEH’s leadership and demanded a king. Yeah! The same YAHWEH who fought their battles and pampered them. The One who rebuked kings for their sakes. Similarly, the Jews rejected Jesus as Messiah because He didn't fit their expectations—born in a manger, an ordinary carpenter's son who lacked glitz, steeze, and glam. "No," they said, "this can't be our Messiah." Jesus watched as those He healed, delivered, raised from the dead, and provided for screamed: "Away with Him, release to us Barabbas instead" (Luke 23:18). Even Peter, His favorite disciple, rejected Him, denying ever having any business with Him. King Saul, who lost his kingdom over trying to impress the Israelites at the expense of God's instruction, saw the same people he led to several victories sing praises for the new guy on the block—David. Alas! Saul discovered that he only wore the crown, but David had won the people's hearts. "Saul has killed in thousands, David in ten thousands," they sang (1 Samuel 18:7). Haha! Make no mistake: Rejection is often hard on the rejected. If YAHWEH felt pained by Israel's rejection (1 Samuel 8:7), it's okay to feel dejected when you are rejected. But as you cry over being rejected, remember that if the Almighty God and His Son could suffer rejection, your case isn't special. Talk to YAHWEH about the rejections you have suffered and ask Him to make it beautiful for you. In the end, rejection is a function of your mindset—your interpretation—because no one can make you feel rejected unless you first accept it. One of the devil's snares is to make you lose hope by facing constant rejections. This way, you will start seeing yourself as a failure. Once you engage your mind by embracing what he sells to you, it becomes your reality. For as a man thinks in his heart, so is his reality (Proverbs 23:7). Redefine how you interpret unfortunate situations, and don't give room to the enemy. See every 'rejection' as a redirection. Yeah! To what and where YAHWEH truly desires for you. That’s the mindset that wins. By all means, keep your dreams and visions alive. Remember Steve Jobs. His rejection from Apple led him to found NeXT and Pixar, both of which achieved great success. His eventual return to Apple saw the company rise to unprecedented heights, showcasing the transformative power of overcoming rejection. A day is coming when all the rejections will make sense to you. On that day, you will lift your hands to YAHWEH and say: "Lord, keep the rejections coming. Please, more rejections, Lord!" 😂😂😂 |
Absolutely true. Yet, if a man refuses to be responsible to an extent for a lady he claims to love and wants to spend the rest of his life with, it is a huge red flag. He can’t be a lizard in courtship and become an alligator in marriage. Not possible. Where a man’s treasure is that’s where his heart would be as well. Whilst a lady may not be demanding- I completely discourage this. Still, she should be observant to see how responsive he is without her asking. It says a whole lot. Antoeni: |
Dear Commander In Chief, Your ideology is Faulty. Just so you know: Not all single ladies are miserable. There are loads of married people who are way more miserable than some single ladies. Being miserable is not a function of being single but a product of a faulty mindset. There are so many men out there who have no business being in a marriage, and I dare say you are one of them. With a mindset like yours, that feels like you are entitled to submission simply because you did a woman a favor by marrying her, your marriage is going to be a disaster, and I feel pity for your wife already. You just come online and spew thrash. Marriage has never been the sole aim of existence so stop making it seem so. And by the way, submission is earned not enforced. If she won’t submit to you, you leadership is under question. When a woman finds a man who understands marriage and the role the woman comes to play, that alone is what makes marriage exempt from miserability. Else, the woman will be miserable in silence and that isn’t marriage. Yeah! Being single is way more purposeful. Antoeni: |
You need help and fast. That you don’t realize it is why I feel so sorry for you. You create a thread to talk about sexual perversion. You don’t only sin you are trying to get others down the path of destruction with you. If you are so okay with your ma3ness, why do you seek validation? Soon and real soon all these fantasies will pass away, I truly hope it isn’t too late for you. It is how mad we have become that you would create a thread so you will talk others into sexual perversion. I hope the devil pays you duly for it. This sex otherway: |
People like you aren't worth a response...but I need to say this to you and everyone who liked your post. You are all the reason we have a decadent society. How dare you insult someone for not being artificial? Did she create herself?. You body shame someone who accepts herself for who she is and then go ahead and call ladies who go artificial from incessant taunts' 'oloshos". ValCon888: |
Progressive thinking. This could have been Africa’s Twitter. Newyorkitis: |
Thank you for this. I will never understand why we keep talking thrash about ourselves in public forums. There are people from all walks of life here. Your comments doesn’t affect the government, it affects the citizens. Help me tell them this. quote author=SmartyPants post=130003167]I don't see why we should pay attention to the thoughts of two random British journalists. But then Nigerians have totally lost it. Two British journalists alleged that: 1. FGM is rife in Nigeria 2. That women's rights don't exist 3. That the country does not prosecute yahoo boys for ripping of westerners And I can see Nigerians up above me co-signing for the purpose of scoring points. Don't you see they said nothing about the government but everything there is a direct accusation against the citizens?? Is it true that FGM is rife in Nigeria? Is it true that women's rights don't exist in Nigeria? Is it true that yahoo boys are allowed to scam westerners and go scot-free?? They even said they are never prosecuted. Funnily enough King Charles was here in 2018 and Queen Elizabeth actually commissioned Millennium Park in the mid-2000s. So while these ones are using this visit as an excuse to bash Harry and Meghan, fellow Nigerians why do you join the world to make scorn of yourselves?
|
This means Tinubu is an accomplice. And an accomplice of a thief is guilty as well. nedu666: |
Very well said. immortalcrown: |
Exactly. Tinubu who has all the military apparatus in his coffers will relinquish power? Let them keep dreaming. We didn’t want him and he came him. We do t need to want him for him to remain there. Our votes are useless. Something else may remove him but definitely not elections. Tinubu is too power hungry to bother about our votes to come back. A man that after 20 years he still holds strong to Lagos. Nothing happens there without him. quote author=Ejebleje post=129966529]Them feel say Tinubu na Jona..e go clear for their eye
|
Did she marry Bill gates a millionaire? You don’t seem to understand that moral and intellectual support is a thing. Do I blame you? A woman puts her life on hold to carry child and put the home in order so when the man comes, he can relax and you think she doesn’t deserve to be compensated in the event of a divorce? WritterNg: |
People like you are the reason Nigeria is where it is today. People who have clearly decided to be selfish and tribalistic. People who would rather die than embrace the truth glaring at them. Buhari ruled for 8years, right? Who advocated for him to be in power? And was there a single day that your President Tinubu who had access to him speak against the damaging effects of his policies on Nigeria economy? He didn’t speak against an economy of his predecessor that took us decades behind as a nation because he had dream to become the president . And now you say he doesn’t have a hand in how frustrated our economy has become? And he is on a right track? Ghana is 13 Cedis to 1 dollar. Of course you know what the naira is and you claim it is a good move. You are clearly not human. And that’s for lack of a more appropriate word. Putindbutt: |
When you encounter people who reason with their noses You really think he needs to come up with a verification exercise before he can defraud a state whose treasury is literally in his coffers especially in a country like Nigeria? I should think it’s the other way round. He wants to ensure all the leaks in which people who are out of the system(ghost workers) are purged out. The guys that would be affected by this are the ones crying out. yarimo: |
He actually visited the military hospital in Kaduna first. Oneday82: |
Did anyone mention to you that they weren’t using seat belts? I guess I missed that in the post? Now, let me ask: Don’t people with seat belts strapped die from accidents? Telling us how careful you are with seat belts and all when you have no inclination what caused the accident makes your message very ill-timed and insensitive. People do everything right and still meet death. Please, stay humble. otipoju: |

There's no where in the New testament that God mentioned that the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and teachers are the representatives of God om earth. You need to study and stop making wrong exegesis. Moses played a major role before the coming of Christ. When that temple court was torn, we all have access to God as children of God-- if you want. We don't have any special children and others orphans. Some people are too lazy to be children and would often settle as bastards. We all are called to be God's ambassadors on earth. 1 Peter 2:2 wasn't addressed to Pastors. The role of the ministry offices-- Apostles, Prophets, etc are for administration and discipleship. Stop making gods(idols) out of men. The reason Jesus came is so we can have direct access to our Father in His Name. Flame333: |
A road that will take 8 years to complete. What’s happens to Nigerians before your projections come to pass. And if David Umahi is no longer in office and a new administration doesn’t buy into the dream? Yeah! You got! Another abandoned project it will become. Sannisege: |
