Politics / Re: Terror List: Close Islamic Schools And Be Delisted - Us Tells Nigeria by janeobi2: 10:58am On Jan 11, 2010
It is a pity that Nigerians are suffering this shame but on the other hand, i don't blame the US government for taking this extreme measures in order to protect the lives of its citizens (as they value them).

Nigerian government has failed in the area of security and i think this is not the time to be sentimental but the time to face facts, deal with it and change the situation.

We all in Nigeria have witnessed several killings of innocent people in different parts of Northern Nigeria; that it is also an act of terrorism. Whether you use cutlasses, dagger, gun, bomb or any other weapon in killing groups of innocent people, it is all an act of terrorism. Since the killing of Christians in the North and the destroying of their properties in their own mother land, what have Nigerian government done to fish out these local terrorist and get hem prosecuted? They hide under the cover of religion, destroying lives and properties of innocent people with nothing done by our government. Tell me, why won't Al-Qaida people foresee the need to use these local terrorists in the Northern Nigeria to fulfil their deadly mission of terrorism across the world.

This is the time for the people of Nigeria and our "i-don't-care" government to look back on all the past heartbreaking events that has happened in this nation; work on our poor and porous security system for our own good before pointing hands against the US government for their extreme measures.

500K is not something to throw away like that because a friend said that, You need to first understand the business of oil and gas by making inquiries from some people you know that are into it. How real is the business? Ever biz carries risk, so what level of risk are u exposing ur money to? Do the cost and benefit analysis of the investmeent. Check this blog for more knowledge http://anentrepreneurguide..com/2009/05/how-to-carry-feasibility-study.html

Dont rush into any biz because of the 40% Roi because u may end up with -100%. After inquiries, analysis, proper understanding of the biz and you find the investment worth it, plan on good biz strategy to use to maximize your capital returns. Don't trust your money blindly to anyone but be realistic and make judicious use of it.

I SAID THIS BEFORE WHEN THE WHOLE BOMB WAS FALLING BUT PEOPLE WAS BUZY PRAISING SANUSI. To be a CBN governor u need to know more than banking but be a good Economist which Sanusi the Yaradua's brother is not. An economist looks and analysed effects of his actions on the economy before pulling his strings. Thanx to Sanusi the economy of this nation is in more shambles becos of his mallam behaviour. There are more objective ways of dealing with these banks and their CEOs without creating a stupid panic in the financial sector of this country

Family / Re: My Marriage In Trouble by janeobi2: 5:40pm On Sep 09, 2009
mrsb:

Confused, I am so sorry for the situation you find yourself in. You seem such a lovely and strong woman. The problem is that you have set a precedent now for both his behaviour and his mother's actions and nasty words.

Can you take some leave from your job and spend time away? I think it is a great idea to go and see parents or family for a while. Let him see what he is missing - a caring, hard working wife and 2 beautiful children. Try and shake him out of his coma - if you just up and leave - you cannot say you tried everything. Make it temporary.

I have a lot of respect for you. Everyone woman deserves to be looked after by their man - ok some Nigerian guys may not be so hands on with cooking and kids etc - but at least let him show you appreciation or give out some kind words. Watch out for your Mum in Law - try and stay civil to her at all times or they will have ammunition to throw back at you. Be the lady you are, put some distance between you and pray things can turn around.

If not, honestly, I believe in marriage but maybe you should go it alone with your kids. Can't be any harder than this right?

Nice one Mrsb
My dear confused, as your fellow woman i felt ur pain going through your story. I advise you don't take to divorce, but believe that no matter how bad it is their can be a better way out other than divorce. So many have gone through this and even worse and have survived, so u too can survive it if you believe. I think what you need is a temporal separation for now. Just go away with ur kids for some time and have time for your self, cool ur head to be able to have an organised thinking. Every dirty water has its source. try and find out where and how the whole wahala started and commit yourself to prayers with a good prayer points. I thank God you said you attend church. Try and go for counseling in your church, that will help.

Again, from your story i must say the problem of your husband is not that he is the devil but, he is suffering from ignorant. I always tell young people that LOVE is not enough to see one through in marriage and this is a practical truth. We all ; men and women, husband and wife need to have good knowledge of what marriage is & the will of God for marriage. Your number one target to reclaim you husband back should be on how to deliver him from his IGNORANCE.

Pray for him, Get some good people he respects to come and talk to him and above all you should always open your mouth to tell him the truth over and over again in every issues concerning your home. If any issue rises, don't try to bury it unnecessarily but talk to your man over it, even if he don't want to hear it or not. But, please even as you open up to make your points in your home, never use abusive words (like calling him bad names) on the man. One thing we all should understand is that WORD IS A SEED, IT IS A GOOD WEAPON IF USED SINCERELY AND GODLY. Speak up, tell him things you dont like, advise him, tell him the will of God in a marriage as in Gen 2: 24, read it out to him even before his mother.

Understand that initially he will not want to listen to your words or advice but as you persistently speaks up and back it up with prayer, he will surely break down to you one day.
Good luck.

Tsiya:

Are you out of your mind? Rent a room for his mother because he want to leave with his wife? You are talking of a mother. The woman that carried him for 9months, feed him cloths him and wash his nyash for years. This is not an answer

@ Poster.

You should understand the importance of a mother to a Man. You should not understand estimate his love for his mother. Love her as much as you will love your mother. You have already identified one of the reasons. She dont like sharing toilets with other ppl. Perhaps you guys leave in a house where u and your husband have a toilet inside your room and your Mother in Law have to content with the 'house public' toilet. This is understanding from her part. She must have played a very big role in her son's life and she resent the idea of being treated 2nd class to another woman.
Tell your husband to get a bigger house so that she can get a Toilet for herself, if you get one for yourself.

Most Nigerian women have preconceived idea of wicked mother in law. Don't forget you will be a mother in law too. Take her as your mother. If you want to do something and she advice you, take her advice just like the way if your mother advice. Dont look at it as if she is nose diving into your affairs. If your mother advises you, she is a caring mother. If you mother in law advise you, she is meddling, even if she is right. Wives . . . . our mothers are very dear to us . . . we can change wife but not a mother . . .

I think you should start a fresh thread to address the house on mother-in-law supposed preconceived idea of wickedness.

Mothers are great people i agree with you cos i am one of them by God's grace. But, we should know that parents are like caretakers and children are own by God. You are a mother does not mean you own the lives of your children. Bring them up as ur duty and when they are ripe to live their own lives, let them go. Emotionally it may be hard but we hav no choice but to do the right thing.

You don't need to run your son's marriage simply because u ar his mother, even the bible did not support that. Gen 2:24 says a man shall leave his father and his mother and cleave unto his wife,

So i don't know why u are so upset abt the suggestion of renting an apartment for the mother-in-law as if it is an abomination. Unless the mother-in-law want to go on carrying his son in her womb, feeding him, clothing him and washing his nyash forever , lol
Family / Re: Mother-in-law Sends You Packing? by janeobi2: 3:28pm On Aug 18, 2009
ifyalways:

Marriage needs not just love bla bla to survive but lots of wisdom and patience. The lady shld have allowed her MIL to go with her to the mkt and bore the woman so much that she wud run back home herself. She went too far telling the MIL shes old school, wud she have told her mother same if she made such a request?.Sometimes we really dont understand the bond btw mothers and their children,Boys esp till u have one,so i guess she really hurt the MIL with that statement.
Well,if she wants to keep her home, she shld find a way to make peace to the MIL even if it means apologising,Lets face the facts,it wud really be difficult for a man to take sides with the wife over the mother, even if he does today . . . .he wud still one day go back to his mum esp African men.If u want a happy home, plsssss try as much as possible to see ur MIL as ur mother and be at good terms with her.Sometimes, one stoops to conquer.

Sincerely, i don't remember how many times i have called my mum "old school" whenever we argue about fashion and we end up putting that aside, loving each other more. Please let us be reasonable and face the facts without compromise, it is really really outrageous and wicked for her mother in law to bore that in her mind and went further to work towards terminating his sons marriage. It is unlawful and against the biblical ethics.

Go to Gen 2 :24 The Almighty God commanded that a man shall leave his father and his mother to cleave unto his wife and they too shall become ONE. Leaving your parents out of your marriage does not mean you should abandon them. No, you should take care of your parents within your capacity but don't let them be part of your marriage. You are the man, with your wife, make decisions in your home and not my mummy said that, . Let us not go with TRADITIONS OF MEN that goes on to ruin marriages whereby in laws not only the mother in law is given the power to ruin their sons marriage out of their own selfish desire.
Politics / Re: Problems With Consolidated Banks: Was Soludo A Failure? by janeobi2: 1:25pm On Aug 18, 2009
@ KNOWALL
Sincerely, i must say that you sound like a cheap man paid to promote Sanusi administration. What you fail to understand is that running  CBN goes beyond banking but, has a lot to do with the economy of this dear country.

Look at the history of this country and you will see that a lot of policies upon policies has been dramatized but, still made no impact in the life of Nigerians.
There are  lots of work to be done in the Nigerian financial sector. Soludo did his part of the work does not mean that all the work is finished. So, Sanusi should stand up to do his own part and hand over to the next person to continue.  The work never finishes,

We recognise and respect SOLUDO for putting up a change in the financial sector that was felt by even a common man in this country.  Banks function more than before. I welcome the action of Sanusi towards these banks and i will say more greeze to his elbow but, that does not mean that he has earned a "V" sign cos he still have a long way to go. If his policies did not strengthen our financial institution the more, if his actions are not felt by a common man in this country, then all his drama will end up as Nigerian usual dramatized unfruitful policies.

You dont need a manual to know how to perform a simple home pregnancy test. I am a mother of three and don't need to visit the hospitat for preg test. Even b4 i miss my period, my test will tell me.

All u need is your URINE and PREGNANCY TEST STRIP. Simply walk into any chemist store and ask for A PREGNANCY TEST STRIP which costs only #50. Read the instructions on how to use it on the body of the strip and follow it well.

Nigerians should be really careful of this self posed forex gurus all over seeking for people to devour. It is a pity that the number of forex trainers are far more than the real traders and people are being swept off their feet by the news of FOREX TRADING.

I was surprised when my little bros travelled down the east and came back telling me that all his friends (secondary school graduates) are into forex trading. Forex trading is not a river with plenty fish where u need only to dip ur basket and pull up basket full as these fake gurus advertises it to lure the youth into it. The fact is that even though it us a river with fish but there are dangerous sharks that can shop up ur basket even ur hands if u dont really understand this market.

Forex trading is not a kiddies market cos it has a lot to do with discipline, emotions and mindset. Not expecting returns that are so so ridiculous for a professional trader.
