samibk: Woooow!!!!
I shared my transcripts in detail if you don't know. We need to be reasonable and understandable.
I didn't share my school for two reasons.
I have been on Nairaland around the period it was created and if I remember correctly this is either my first post or second post. I check Nairaland once in a while. I realized that if I put my school name people will need me to assist them which I will gladly do as I am currently doing for 5 students but I wont notice that they have asked me any question because I wouldn't have checked and then I will receive the same comment. This is me and I am not expecting you to accept it.
Secondly, this thread is for VISA not school application, however telling you the name of my school could have been helpful for others to apply but as fairheart the purpose is to understand the pattern of interview which I clearly outlined in my transcript. And I have resumed my PhD which make it more difficult for me to even remember to check Nairaland. I only saw this post because the tab was still opened.
Also I felt not too cool not knowing what mascot means which made me further not to reveal my school identity.
My school is in the top 20 in the world ranking, again sharing the name of my school maybe helpful but it's up to you to find the school that matches your profile. That is the biggest mistake many applicant make; then they get many rejection. I applied to MIT too but I didn't get in and I believe it is because of my fit for the school and also the caliber of applicants. Anyway you can always give your shot if you can.
My question is if you go for VISA interview will you mention the name of my school or the name of the school you are going to. And for that singular reason you are yelling
Let me answer this question here too. Someone asked me for help for mock interview yes I can help provided my schedule won't make it too late because I have started my midexams. I didn't prepare for the interview as I personally felt it was not necessary for me. Everything in my application was real, truthful to the letter that if I am drunk I will still tell you the same and I am fully funded for PhD in engineering. This might not be your case so you might need to prepare very well and that is the sole purpose of this thread.
I have seen many people's transcript and it's not helpful so I understand your point vividly but If you need my school name for visa interview then I don't understand. I don’t care if your school is the number one in the world no be you first go there, its not a valid excuse that you not sharing a normal visa transcript is cos you don’t want people to ask you for help. You have every right to say you are busy you can’t help. Share a normal transcript or don’t share at all. No be like this people share the once’s you benefit from |

fairheart: No! You're wrong! He own the right to leave the transcript as he wanted it. You don't have to know his school. He is not obliged to reveal it. Students on this thread have the habit of copying, the habit of "bombing" universities they see that one student has been approved visa to attend. Note that not all students on this thread found the school they applied to and got admission and visa, on this thread.
I think you are displeased because you're interested in his school. You can search for your own school and apply. APSU, from about 3 years ago until last fall, was bombed so much that the school reduced its stipend to $150 from initial $600 in 2018-2019 section. Yes, the school might be having limited funding after taking in many Nigerians, but I kinda believe it is not ideal if every student want to apply to the same school a visa-approved student is going.
Just look for your own school. Do your own home work. Use google, use search strings. Affordable Universities in US for Master's in Healthcare Administration, etc. Almost all the students I am currently conducting mock for searched their own schools. There is a particular lady on this thread who searched the entire universities offering Master's in communication in the U.S! I mean every single university in every US state that offers master degree in communication. Imagine searching schools in every US state? That is the type of work I am talking about. Now she has almost full funding with minor deficit.
Conclusively, don't dare be lazy about this process! Invest energy and time for broad research on schools. If you are angry that people are hiding their schools, get it right: they don't have to reveal it. Search for your own schools, apply, do the work, and get your visa too. When it is time to share your transcript, choose whether to reveal or hide it. Nobody is obliged to do it. All the best to everyone! The purpose of the forum is to help people, I have been on this forum for a long time and see how people visa transcripts has helped a lot. He gained from peoples story and he is hiding his own is selfishness. Am already in the US for your information and don’t need his transcript for anything. It’s better for him not to write anything than write those rubbish. People has done referrals to their profs, send emails, vet SOP for people to apply to their school. That’s wickedness hiding a school you already got funding, everybody go de alright las las |

samibk: He asked me for the official mascot of my school. What I forgot was the meaning of mascot at that moment. Although I knew what he was referring to.
So let me share my transcript too.
VO: How are you? We are just here to chat. ME: I'm fine and how are you too VO: Pass me your passport ME: I removed my document in between my passport and gave him VO: No, put the document back and pass them to me. Don't be nervous, Okay? ME: Actually I wasn't nervous (said this to myself). VO: What is the name of your school ME: University of VO: What is the official mascot of your school ME: (to myself, I can't remember what mascot means) VO: He told me the answer and I confirm he was correct. VO: Why are you going for PhD ME; I discussed the project I will be working on briefly (less than 10 seconds) VO: Are you married ME: No VO: Do you have children ME: No VO: Have you travelled before ME: No VO: go get your winter jacket and go pay your reciprocity fee. Me: Thank you.
The interview was less than 2 minutes. It’s not by force to write visa transcript, even hide the school name. If you can’t write a detailed transcript, no need to post. Period |

Eniolakiite: It might be a political move. I only made my individual opinion that it is a good move. Others can have different opinion. Analysts, reporters and members of this forum can all have their different opinion about it. I only said mine. We don’t have to agree. And regardless the decision has been made and that’s what it will be. Buhari makes political moves and many other leaders. Most of the people complaining are potential immigrants. Citizens and PRs for which he made the decision are happy. The media can say what they like. And we all can have our opinion on it. Decision already made. Feel free to express opinion on it. Opinion is easy to make Stay safe everyone. Can you just stop!! abi na the $1200 wen the guy man share reach you make you de support am. Health care is very expensive, no adequate supply of medical equipments, the uninsured Americans are panicking. You would still need to wait till after this covid-19 before you can do all stated above as all offices are closed Thanks for the reply, we had our wedding in the church, but we both got the marriage license from the court and hand it over to the priest before the wedding day. We got the original marriage license after the wedding from court. I guess we will have to visit the court when this pandemic is over. Thanks |

SilentPistol: Hey guys,
I see a few people here applying for courses that would barely provide opportunities here in a bid to just leave Nigeria.
I understand we all have our goals and aspirations. However, If you’re paying out of your pocket, I’m not sure a Master’s degree in Biology, Public Administration & co. puts you in the best position of opportunities here in the USA. Even if you aren’t, you may need to have a rethink and properly strategize.
Arriving the US is only the beginning. You’ll need internship(s) at some point. You’ll need a job at some point. And as we all know, things are getting more & more stringent.
To work full time, you’ll need to find a company that’s willing to file a H1-B petition for you & that does not come easy, especially in non-competitive fields. It can even be very challenging finding a company that would let you use your OPT as work authorization.
If you also think you can arrive the US, get married to some citizen within a few months & have your work authorization, please have a rethink & do your due diligence. Every PR filing now has to be accompanied by a I944 (Declaration of self sufficiency) & this document has been designed to easily detect sham marriages & reduce number of qualified applicants.
It’s better paying through your nose for decent courses in engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical), IT, select management sciences, than being fully funded in Biology, Public Administration, etc. You won’t understand the implications till you’re stuck & forced to start all over. Look for cheap schools & do something that would afford you a lot of opportunities.
A word is enough for the wise. Life comes with different phase, staying in Naija as a graduate is not easy, don’t associate yourself with failure, people did not make it does not means I will not make it, there is a million reason why the person fail. I have never seen a Naija student that travel to the United States for studies and go back to Nigeria except those that their family already lay a huge position waiting for them. People have been here thru academics and got their residency via H1B. And lastly no course in the United States is useless, know what you study and be good at it, you will get multiple offers. Stop trying to discourage people, instead motivate them. |

Thanks for your response in anticipation It’s better she send it, pay the visa fee at any GT bank, go with your passport. You don’t have to pay sevis fee for F2. |
