I would like to commend the young lad for what he has done. But in order not to be far from the truth, he just developed what was first invented as mobile phones. They were the first set of Push To Talk devices that were invented, they required no sim to communicate and they could only work within short distances. So, in order to communicate via long distances cellular phones were invented, they had the power to operate on a high frequency other than the earlier PTT device. As time went by more better phone design were developed which made phones easy to handle and portable. Later on data technology were developed and integrated along with the voice technology. Other features are still been added up to today. Sim card on the other hand was mainly to identify a subscriber on a mobile phone network.
When they say Niggerians are illiterates many will be huffing and puffing. If many bothered to do small research like you have done it would have demystified this 'invention'

UK and their subtle racist attitudes. I can bet that there may be other white doctors who may have attended to the Ekweremadus in the process, but if by chance there is a Nigerian amongst them (even if he has lived and practiced in the UK all his life), they will find a way to single him out and rope him into the accusation. That's how they do.
So living and practising there all your life should excuse you from prosecution. SMH

Nairariver:

Selling gas to the most developed economies require alot of infrastructures to be in place.
Selling gas to Germany is different from selling gas to India. Sadly Nigeria with an annual budget of less than 40 billion dollars does not have these infrastructures ready.
And time is a luxury that the EU does not have.
Exactly. At this point its easier to just cut deals with the Russians temporarily while they try to set up the infrastructein Nigeria

This attitude shows the difference between FAILURES and SUCCESSES.

Failures' attitude is the same as yours.

Successful people think, ''where is FG investment going to be going into with the new funds coming in?'', and then position themselves to capitalise on the new budgetary allocations to the relevant sectors.

FAILURES sit down in their backyard and wait for the money to arrive at their front door, ''for the masses'', failing which it means the leaders have ''ate the money''.

SUCCESSES go out there and GET theirs.

Us that how they do in the successful countries? Citizens "position themselves' ( whatever that means)
When some countries make tuition free for their citizens or make healthcare free , or invest in education its the citizens that "position themselves" as you put it . SMH

I only reacted to a blanket statement that most lecturers are malicious and fail students on purpose.

But we all know that there are unserious students.

They are. They are malicious and fail students on purpose. Just because you were able to conform and fit the mould they wanted doesnt negate the trauma the average Nigerian studant faces.
Go abraod and see how students party hard and do all sorts of crazy stuff. Nigerian students dont even do a quarter of what they do. No one failed them for it or called them unserious.
Continue justifying nonsense. This is why Nigeria will always remain where it is. There are always people ready to justify any kind of injustice.

Suffer no dey tire us I swear, sometimes I weep profusely when I see how vibrant youths support and die for these politicians, only for their future to be trampled upon with reckless abandonment by these super smart politicians.

I am sorry to admit, but a large number of Nigerians are chronically mentally unstable, yes I said it, WE ARE MAD!!!.

We repeat the same cycle every year, selling our future for a couple thousand of naira, while those we elect cash out in millions and billions of dollars.

How a rogue governor who literally did nothing in his state, retires to became a distinguished senator for another round thievery and exploitation is incredible.

I repeat, we never even suffer enough, by the time this politicians are through we us, I hope our skeletons would still have some meat left.

I weep for Nigeria.
If you have not left the country please do. You dont need to go to US or UK. Even Ghana or Uganada is better. The kind nonsense you will keep seeing will keep you horrified

Clinic days are the days you fins doctors on seat. You should ask what their clinic days are.

In my opinion, clinic days should be stopped. Instead, more doctors should be hired with good and encouraging compensation. Then a roster will be made. Doctors should be available on a daily basis.

Meanwhile, OP, you said you did not clean your ear for so long while the wax built up. When the wax was building in your ear and it was itching you, how did you cope?
Truth is nobody wants to work in that shithole. Hard work is seen as suffering. No amount of compensation will make them work. That is a fact. If you like pay them 1m an hour and attach athem with a bentley and chauffeur nothing will change. Instead they will spend time telling you how they are big boys and you need to worship them. Malice is everywhere. But don't make it seem like it is entrenched in our body of lecturers.

It is not as bad as you people are making it.

As for the part in bold,

First of all, you need to make the effort to understand the routine of a lecturer. Some lecturers like "give it back to me exactly as I gave you", some like you to be more expressive. This is where it pays to attend tutorials, and ask questions from your seniors.

Second, put in attendance. Most universities (around the world) demand at least 70% attendance.

During exams, read instructions properly before attempting questions. Some papers have questions that are compulsory, and then the choices. If you don't read the instructions, you may fail to answer the compulsory question, and that is a loss of a lot of potential marks because the compulsory question always carries a lot of marks.

Lastly, some students don't know how to answer questions. Either, they answer out of context, make too many unnecessary detours, or try to be smart by half.

I have taken tutorial classes, and I know this very well. In fact, there was a time I had to publish a tutorial pamphlet to instruct students on how to attempt questions.

I studied mathematics, and there were papers during which students were to think, and not merely calculate. And someone will know that this is more of problem-solving using logic, but then they would turn the question around in such a way that they see a need to calculate. Nothing annoys some lecturer as much as that. It not only wastes your own time trying to outsmart a lecturer, it also makes a bad impression on the lecturer who may decide not to waste any more time on your other attempts.

I call bullshit. First of as a student am I there to understand the subject or the lecturer? Your counterparts abroad dont do half of what you suggested and still pass. M9st students do as you have suggested and still fail yet you still think its the student's fault. Ifs easier to blame the victims in all these and look away from the actual problem but stats dont lie. If the lecturers were any good where are the nobel prizes and the international recognition? How come the public education sector has become so rotten that it is useless?

Most? Then, how come people like me ended up with a first class degree?

And many others with 2'1?

I understand there are one or two courses which are usually too tough. I carried one course like that. 30 (F). There is always mass failure every year. But when I redid the course, I had an A. It turned out that there was actually nothing to fear about that course. Read hard, put in 70% attendance, be respectful, and that is all.

Like I wrote earlier, maybe you are referring to lecturers of state universities or polytecnics.
See argument abeg. So because you graduated wirh a first class lecturers are not malicious, the system is not flawed. LOL.

For every one like you there are thousands who do exactly what you suggerted and are still languishing. What will you suggest they do Mr. 1st class?

Rubbish.

So what about students who failed to graduate due to their own lack of seriousness?

You expect a man or woman to give free marks to someone who doesn't deserve it or who hasn't worked hard enough for it?

Perhaps, you may not know it, but these lecturers work hard enough, and the reason they may not be like their counterparts abroad is that they are not as well-paid.
How many of them are unserious? As a lecturer you cant tell me that you have a 60%- 80% fail rate and tell me you know what you are doing. Are you sauing all students dont qualify for admission to the university?
I have seen A students in secondary school, who scored high scores in JAMB enter uni and get frustrated because someone somewhere wants to play God.

And to think the nonentity even used Havard as an example. Has he even thought about the work ethics of an Ivy league student? He thinks its by wearing sagged trousers and chasing after girls all semester then coming back and expecting his professor to reward him with an A.
...and what is wrong in using Harvard as an example? Is it not a school too?
If a student chooses to wear sagging trousers and chase women , should that be a criteria for failing such a person? You havent addressd the issues the OP put up you are already in your feelings.
