This is the study of what uve learned in physiology nd anatomy at d chemical level. For most BCH (as widely called) is d most feared of 3 courses. More on dat later

Physiology
This is d study of d functions of structures u've learntt in anatomy. Here u learn pretty interestin stuffs and most pple say its d bedrock of medicine.
Well, physiology is nt only broad bt diversely variable *whateva dat means* Anyways wat I mean is dere are various textbuks on physiology wit differing outputs nd values. Xo passin is based on:

1. Ur abiliity to identify d textbuks favoured by ur lecturers.

2. Ur ability to combine this textbuks positively without gettin confused (this happens a lot; trust me)

Most med skuls offer 3 courses in d first preclinical year: Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry.
Anatomy
This is mainly the study of d body's structures (might sound easy bt its not wen u av to cram names lyk sternocleidemastoid muscle). Anatomy has 3 branches:
Gross anatomy: study of d structures u can see in d body literally wit d naked eye. U will see d structures practically by dissecting (cutting) cadavers (dead bodies); more on that later.
Histology: study of d structures at cellular level. U will see dis structures via microscopic slides.
Embryology: study of d developin human in d womb.

yes sure especially on physiology, cos dere will b tyms gross anatomy will tk too much of ur tym. In all readin ahead helps. I rememba b4 resumption, I was advised d same and fortunately I almost finished d upper limb b4 resumption. This really helped my first incourse (got d highest) cos wyl odas were stiil gettin used to d anatomical terms; I was alredy buildin on a foundation...well essence of d story is readin ahead can only do u gud...

I went into my bathroom wit a fone in my trembling hand. Muttering various sentences as prayer to God, I summoned courage to open the link and wow, my happiest day ever has been witnessed...cue d shouting nd celebration... MEDICINE STARTS

Well fast forward to Sept. 19, 2014 when I saw THAT message sent by a fellow aspirant: "Admission list is out". My bones went cold, every breath of mine was like smoke from an exhausted locomotive train. If I hadnt mention, I graduated as a microbiologist from LASU after being denied to studdy medicine. "So this time, i'm nt goin to b denied again", I said to myself...."no way".

no course is hard or easy. Even tho biochem is fairly tough 4 some, its simpler dan breathin for odas. Wat matters is ur interest in d course nd d rest is ABC

Medicine, where do I start? I had always had interest in being a doctor as long as my memory can recall (even tho I wasnt really a fan of biology). I had been vewi gud at d physical sciences (physics and mathematics) bt no way was I goin to let d small matter of biology get in my way of being a doc.....

read, read nd finally read. Okay seriously dont b too scared, u are goin to b doin a lot of readin bt its not more than u can handle. Ur first year shld b in d faculty of science, nd u will b expected to pass all ur courses above 50 (cant b too sure of how lautech runs drs tho). So bro kip ur head down, 4get d joys of admission nd read as much as u can. God is ur strength.

Lil I can add is: study well bt most importantly study wisely. Dnt study to prove u got stuff bt instead for knowledge and passin ur exams, cos bro med skul is abt passing too not just knowin. By God's grace, success is ours.

minimum of Bsc to qualify for D.E into MBBS? maximum of what? And wats all d hype abt medicine?

Dont mind my questions. Am only asking because a frnd of mine recently shocked me when he confided in me, here's d situation:

He wantd Medicine but ended wit physiology,came out with a 2'2...cldnt get D.E because of d 2'2, now doing his postgraduate studies in Public Health (MPH). but he claims he stil doesnt feel fulfilled. he wants to get back to med sch thru D.E. wch he cldnt get into because he had a 2'2. Question is, wit MPH can he b considered for D.E? sounds wierd to me. havnt hrd of any1 goin for D.E wit masters, been trying to talk him out of it and towards PhD,but dude no send. Any ideas?

Some schools e.g. OOU consider 2'2" for direct entry.. Although there is d little additional problem of indigeneship.

1. Is indigeneship a criterion for DE aspirants too i.e. Will DE indigenes be considered b4 non-indigenes?

2. I av a friend who wants to apply nxt yr for medicine DE with 2.2. Will he b considered if he pass the cut-off mark?

it has been rectified. I think they were trying to upload tuition fee deadline notice and GNS exam tymtable.

DE mbbs applicants, just found out the cut-off for last year was 50. Hpfully culd be same this year.

opexyy: UTME candidates; (utme score/8 + post utme score/2)

so, try not quote or zero your mind to just the post utme score!, saw the two being computed! but not sure if cutoff points will be publicised!


D.E. candidates; OYO things! because not sure if your grades(1st class, 2:1 or 2:2) is computed with your post D.E. result!

But compilation is on! Saw it being compiled before being sent to Central Admission Committee!
