This can only happen in a country like Nigeria. You cant try this in the U.S. The lawsuits you will face after doing this rubbish no go get part 2. If my wife is in the FRSC and one stupid buffon tries this, I will personally get thugs/soldiers to deal with him after which she will resign (since Nigeria is a lawless country anyway)
before you talk. Think. They have code of conduct that must be enforced at all times. The soldiers wont listen to you because the military are worse when it comes to discipline. Ask yourself have you ever seen a military woman on long braid?

It's the responsibility of Discos to lay power cables and install meters in such a way that bypassing is next to impossible.

They just inherited a broken cobweb cable system and did nothing to improve it.
Exactly. There are just plain stupid and lazy ass. They dont want to invest but just reap money. If they were the ones managing MTN and co... What would they do about cheats who try to call and browse free.
PoliticsRe: Discos Reject 10,200 Megawatts In 1 Month by jarkbauer: 7:29am On Apr 10, 2017
BlowBack:
The problem is the lack of prepaid meters and the inept fashola who encourages this scam by the DISCOs

Let me elaborate...

Where I stay less than 20% of residents have pre-paid meters.

The disco handling my area are guaranteed monthly revenue from non-prepaid consumers as they are charged a fixed monthly rate of about 5,000 irrespective if they are supplied electricity.

At one point I had a balance of less than 30 units for 3mths.

The discos won't try this nonsense if at least 70% of residents had pre billing
The problem in Power sector is enormous. I dont deceive myself.. stable light in Nigeria is a mirage. More than 70% of people with prepaid meters bypass it. Some Nigeria dont like to pay for power.

what is the RPM reading when Engine is idling? Does your vehicle come with DRL? Is the DRL functional?

Finally get a multimeter and set voltage to DC 20V range, hold rpm at 0.8 (800RMP) place terminals on battery (do not disconnect terminals) check readings. Post information here.

Do not replace anything until you have answered these questions.
When it happened to a friend's Camry tiny light, they told him a diode was bad. and they put an external diode after a while the diode got burnt so he just changed the alternator and the problem was fixed. What is DRL. I am very interested in this too

Obaluf0n:
Good evening everyone.

Abeg, I need help from your wide range of experience acquired over the years as this is a complete mystery to me.

I gave out my battery to a battery charger for a deep charge (it was unused for about 2 months), in order to go pick up assignment and group work papers (quite much) from my students, I leased a battery from him in order to be able to drive down to school - from here I headed to Ibadan for about 2 days.

When I got back, I was meant to return the battery to the battery charger as agreed but to my surprise, upon removing the + or - terminals on the battery, the car struggles then goes off.

This clearly points to an alternator problem but there is no battery signal in the instrument cluster and this same alternator charges batteries yet t goes off when terminals are disconnected.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Does this translate into the purchase of a new alternator or can something be repaired to fix this?

How much would an alternator cost now?

The car is an 04 accord (4 plugs).

I hope I can get easy fix for this or I'll just sell the car.

Please help!

LordAdam16:
Even if they reduce minimum wage to N5k. States will still owe.

Moreover when the 18k wage was introduced, dollar traded at N135/$1 in the official market. Now, it is N305/$1 (more than 200% increase), yet state governments are still siphoning funds.

Workers should not be made to bear the brunt of state-sanctioned corruption. Let them increase the wage.

If they float the currency and it falls to 400-460, it'll represent a 300% increase in exchange rate from N135/$1, which will match the 300% increase in wage labor is asking for (FG says 45k minimum wage, labor is asking for 56k. Even if they agree at a middle ground of 50k, that's still around 300% increase). This is a crude calculation and not everyone's salary will increase by 300%, but an increase in salary even by 50-150% will greatly offset the impact of increased fuel price.

Moreoever, Dangote's refinery is coming onstream in 2018. The refinery should lower fuel price (if all goes as planned) and help the nation's FX balance sheet.

The FG is just suffering workers needlessly and dangling carrot in their faces, when they can make a good pie for workers. Recall that with increase of wages in the public sector, the private sector will follow.

-Lord
I agree with you. State are not serious even if they decrease minimum wage state will still owe.

LordAdam16:
Madam, the CBN knows the party is ending. They don't want a replay of 28/02/17 to 08/03/17 to occur. So, they're giving early indications that they are still on the offensive.

I wouldn't pass it off completely as hogwash. Who the gods want to destroy they first make mad.

But what I sense is panic on the part of Okarofor, the CBN, and the FG. Unlike in the early days of this month when they started their second round of intervention, the oil price was rising, currency reserve was rising, and speculators still had lots of dollars in hand.

Now, the oil price have fallen, currency reserve is falling, and speculators have reduced their exposure in a big way. Seriously, speculators wouldn't make big losses now. They'd solely be eating up every cheap dollars they can lay their hands on.

If the CBN wants to, they can inject $1.5b to reduce the parallel rate to N305/$1. We all know they can't go lower, and as they've said, that's their target. This is the first time they've actually made that known in public. However, if they wanted to reduce it further, IMTO's will cease sending money to Nigeria. Investors will scream blue murder. Foreign remittance will stop increasing. The pressure on the foreign reserve will increase multiple fold. And FDI will halt completely (not that anything was coming in anyway).

When parallel rate appreciates to N305/$1 and there's no where else to go. There'd be only one direction for the rate to go. The fall will be the biggest fall in recent history.

I can't wait.

It's clear that the CBN and FG are masochists. And Nigerians wouldn't get pity, because it appears they too want to listen to blues.

-Lord
I stopped reading when I discovered you want speculators to control the value of the Naira No sane govt will leave her currency in the hands of speculators. according to you CBN should float and not be concerned about the activities of Speculators who wants Naira to fall to N2000/$

You are definitely a speculator. You want them to float the Naira so that guys like you can pounce on it and make it N1000/$. Tell me when did we float the Naira last?

And it seems you know more than the CBN guys. How i wish you can be made the CBN gov so that you float the Naira. But i will like to see your face when Naira falls to N1000/$ after a float, and how you will face the people of Nigeria as the CBN gov.

2 years ago Naira was less than N200 and you guys want us to believe the real value of the Naira is now 650/$. really? a more than 300% depreciation? haba.

And tell me the CBN Gov that did not defend the Naira with reserve?

Ask yourself $35B remittance yet Naira was on a free fall. Why? Where did all the dollars remitted go? Speculators and hoarding.
