Rivers will be the bloodiest.
Kaduna is another state to watch out for.
I don't expect major crisis in Niger. APC will win presidential and PDP guber, as it happened in 2011.
There will be pockets of crises in Lagos and Kwara but won't be of large scale. |

Earning 50k in an average Nigerian town is no small money.
If you're a bank contract staff earning 50k, and posted to Ede, Osun State, for instance, you will lead a decent life.
It is in Lagos that such monies are small. Even in Lagos, drivers that earn 30-40k per month are married, and don't look malnourished.
Our teachers in secondary school don't earn up to 50k and have beautiful wives and children, and even cars. |

at least we know bukola and Ahmed are of the APC. APC is a failure in Kwara, I admit. But my point is, if out of 14 governors, APC has 7 widely acknowledged performers (Aregbesola, Fashola, Ajimobi, Amosun, Oshiomole, Amaechi Kwankwaso), that's 50%; while out of 21, PDP can only boast of 3 (Akpabio, Chime and Sule Lamido), that roughly 15%. Compare and contrast. |

hush15: Jona's environment might not be good but really, you are trying to get out of one shallow pit and then jump into a much deeper one?
Common, you know that's not wise. After yelling on Jonathan, he eventually listens and tries to measure up. Is it not better than those who don't give a damn whether you shouting or yelling and they will still tell you to go to hell! Nothing you can do. If its a lie, the strike in lagos is one example. Long after Jo had resolve his own side, state is still being adamant and till now, it is do your worst!!
Same in osun. We need to be careful not to jump from frying pan to fire eventhough I don't agree that Jo did nothing. I believe he is doing something but our impatience is about to flush it down the drain. What's another 4yrs if we have been surviving for 30yrs under worst government. 4yrs after, then we are morally justified to access the whole situation and change the direction we going if its still not what it ought to be
Those clamoring for power now are not doin so cos they have the masses in mind, most of them are on a personal vendatta mission and at the end of it again, we upset, complaining and regretting...
I believe what we need is consistency and focus. Helping our institutions and governemnt to be more efficient and effective. Changing government like underwears wouldn't help. Funnyenough, we worry about the politicians but our real problems lies in the civil service. Those that execute government plans and prjects on behalf of the populace and they are people like us. Both at the fed and state levels Once we have the moral mechanism in place, our institutions will be more corruption free.
Slow and steady always wins the race. Oga, save the story. PDP is a deeper pit than APC. APC politicians steal, I concede, but they work. PDP politicians steal without doing anything. How on earth can anyone say APC has more crooks than PDP? |

What happened to the 56 suitcases filled with cash found with one of his officials when he was the military president?

Politics › Re: I Trust Buhari But Doubt His Environment - Tunde Bakare by Jarus(m): 11:29pm On Mar 17, 2015 |
You can't get a totally clean environment in Nigeria where 98% of politicians are crooks.
They bring structure to the table as we have seen between CPC of 2011 (without the Tinubus of this world) and APC of today (with Tinubu and co).
When the generally-regarded-as-clean Gani Fawehinmi refused to associate with the crooks by contesting under his own clean party, NCP, in 2003, how many votes did he get?
It leaves us with the character of the candidate again where Buhari stands taller than GEJ. |

Buhari's words
"go and vote, if anyone tries to stop you, kill! kill!! kill"
"if I don't win this election in 2015, the blood and the baboon will be soaked in blood"
"Muslims don't vote for Christians, Christians don't vote for Muslims"
"An attack on boko haram is an attack on the north"
TINUBU: “They are busy looking for ways to manipulate the polls in Ekiti. I am not ashamed to tell them that this time it is going to be rig and roast. If you mess up in Osun too, you would see our reaction; it is going to be the same way — rig and roast.” “For every action, there must be a reaction.”

I'm particularly worried about implementing APC's Social Welfare programmes in this period of dwindling revenues. I must confess I don't expect magic, but I trust the man to try, and I expect decent results. Lets assume that Nairalanders vote that the whole money be used to buy land for the family, are you telling me that TEHN will go ahead and buy the land? If I hear! All the same, I know that they are just following protocol to avoid people feeling left out even though they contributed. We all know that Number 3 is the best option if implemented properly. Time is not on anybody's side. Whatever is being done, let it bw done ASAP and close that chapter... Simple. Yes, if all Nairalanders vote for land, it will be implemented |

exxell: Although I know its dead weight, I will still chip in my contribution because I am a donor. I said its dead weight because I know that one way or the other, TEHN has already made up its mind on what to do. Nevertheless, option 3 is the best. I concur strongly in getting a decent apartment (not luxurious) for the Mum. Because I can deduct from the conversations all along that she will need it. By the way, I hope arrangement is being also made to give the family in general a lump sum as a condolence? Because whether we like it or not, that money was generated in their son's name. All those saying keep it for future sick nairalanders, are we praying for Nairalanders to get sick? Even if such situation arises, do we think the person wouldnt get attention as DJ got? If TEHN had made up their mind, why did they come here for options with an express statement that "the consensus here will be implemented". So if the options are counted next week Friday and an option prevails, you mean TEHN will act contrary? Let's be fair. |

Justfollowit: You should also respect other people's beliefs - the ones who donated the money for his treatment and the upkeep of his family not every one of them is a muslim.
Building a mosque is not obligatory, it is a form of charity IF there are sufficient resources. Having means of livelihood would also be a form of charity because then they can give out to others. Or would you rather they beg because of building a mosque would grant him automatic Al-jannah.
Next time think before you post because you would not your money to be use for a church if you were in the same position as the donors. Our major concern for not recommending that option as presented by the family. That said, building a mosque was never part of the options outlined, it was "donating to the mosque" (for upkeep or whatever). But the same sentiments in your post apply. |
