No offense but you still have the when i grow up i want to be a doctor/lawyer and the likes kinda approach where kids/teenagers pick the most common profession they have basic ideas about what it entails and believe it is the real deal. Back then, things like science lab tech, business administration, nautical/aeronautical science, Pharmacy, nursing, biochemistry, microbiology, computer science, etc hardly comes to mind. Am surprised you forgot to include banking and finance, it was really common amongst us then or maybe the bank retrenchments have changed thngs. Btw, you should find out more about afterschool life of the professions you listed, especially 5 and 6.
Okay! Banking and finance? Are you kidding me? Well well well, anyhow you view it. BTW,what about you? Are you in for banking and finance? |
what are you studying/did you study?
Newly admitted to study Mech. Engr. Why asking ![]() |

Kendzyma: y all diz beef?? List ur own if u nt satisfied or wat ar ur keypad meant 4#LOL. Oga mi! Help me tell am o. |
sagaciousblog: stop living in the stone age...how abt pharmacy, dentistry, nursing et all? medicine is no longer as it used to be..you should also remove law from that list cos their chances are very slim as well...i think you also study mass com thats y u placed it there cos their chances are also slim.#LOL. I'm neither a Mass Comm student nor a Law student, what I know is,being a lawyer is not all about working in a court of law,and Mass Comm is not all about being a radio/television presenter! I hope you get it. Check the words in bold below for the first part. jaryeh: I don't think any course is useless, but some courses give a slimmer chance in the labour market compared to others. These courses are mostly imposed on the students as a result of their not passing the cut off for their preferred course. IMO,any course apart from the ones below will most likely be among them. |
Ifyikillz: U must be a dull personHaba! Must you insult me? Feel free to tender your points, don't resort to insult! It's a forum you know. |

talk2davoo: I thought dat fashola said dat it was the student and their lecturers dat rolled on the floor and begged him to increase their school fees for them.mtcheeeeew.now its like d lecturers are feeling d negative impact dat the low turn out of student must be having on them.Really ![]() Seriously,I just wonder why LASU would decide to join the ASUU strike that just ended despite the exhorbitant fees they charge. Increased school fees without improved infrastructure! Then, what's the use May God help us in this country. |
To be precise with time, go with the 'at' because the 'by' doesn't sound precise, but rather talks about the moment close.
This makes sense. Thanks. But I still need more. |
alotofgrace: dictionary would do a good jobI have checked the dictionary but couldn't get a good grasp of it! I said that earlier! You can help check and explain what you get here sha. Thanks. |

Well,IMO I think it's a good one. Every candidate will have to face one university, polytechnic or whatever they want with 100% dedication. The 2nd choice issue is even responsible for my being in a quandary as to whether I will still be admitted or not now! What will happen is that the big federal schools will have more candidates as usual, then the small schools with little or no candidate will invite anyone who has passed the general JAMB cut off to their POST UTME irrespective of whether such candidates chose them or not. Going by that,I think it will give each candidate more chances. It happened even this year when there was 2nd choice:EKSU and some other state and private unis invited anyone who has passed the cut off and is interested to go and register for their POST UTME. Although, majority of them will not be considered for admission in the end,but it is just as risky and uncertain as the 2nd choice! |
Hello, grammarians in the house. I need you to just help me out on this. Which is correct? Is it 'at 1pm' or 'by 1pm' e.g The meeting will hold at 1pm,or, The meeting will hold by 1pm. I have tried checking different materials both online and offline and didn't get any useful point on it. Radio presenters use it interchangeably,Oxford dictionary didn't state any significant difference in the two. Is it that the two are both correct and can be used interchangeably? Though I use 'at' most times for past events and 'by' for future events e.g The match started at 2am, The man will be here by 2pm. I just want to clear the doubt. When are we to use 'by' and when are we to use 'at'? Your contribution(s) please! Thanks. |
Very rare! Buh I mean it when I use 'LMAO' or I use 'hahahahahaha' |
Nice one! |
It depends on the kind of lady and the environment! Buh it seems 60% of Nigerian ladies want comfort either in monetary or romantic terms. 20% want sex! And 20% just want a bright future! |
If you've never used any of the phrases 'End Time Things', 'pinshure or it didn't hapun' , 'go and die' , 'where is my pin-mouth charger',you are certainly not a Nairalander. |
